“For if thou altogether hold thy peace at this time, then shall enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who know whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer makes a difference. Speak up and pray with faith in the Lord. “If you remain silent now during this critical moment, then help and deliverance for the Jewish people will surely come from elsewhere. However, your family and you may face dire consequences for your inaction. It’s worth considering whether you have been placed in this position of power and influence precisely for this pivotal moment in history. Who can say if your ascension to the throne wasn’t intended for such a time as this?”
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is February 10, which marks the 41st day of the year, a wonderful reminder of the fresh beginnings that each new day brings.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It brings me joy to connect with all of you as we journey together through the transformative power of prayer.
Throughout this year, our prayers and reflections will be inspired by the wisdom found within the 66 books of the Bible. We will begin our exploration with Genesis, gradually progressing through the sacred texts until we reach the profound messages in the book of Revelation. Each step of this journey will enrich our understanding and deepen our faith.
For today’s prayer, We will reflect on a powerful scripture from Esther 4:14, which reads: “For if thou altogether hold thy peace at this time, then shall enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who know whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
The Lord is reminding us of the pivotal moments in our lives when our courage and actions can lead to significant change and deliverance.
Let us contemplate this message as we open our hearts in prayer, seeking guidance and strength to act boldly in our own lives, just as Esther did in her time of need. Together, we will pray for the wisdom to recognize our purpose and the courage to fulfill it.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with our hearts bowed in reverence and gratitude. We acknowledge your sovereignty over all things.
Lord, without you, we are nothing, and apart from you, we can do nothing. But in you, through your power, we can do all things.
You are reminding us in the story of Esther that there are times when you place us in situations far greater than ourselves, not by chance, but by divine appointment. “Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Father, we believe that none of us is here by accident. You have woven us into your story, and each step of our lives is directed by your mighty hand.
Father, we ask for the courage to rise up in the moments you call us. Just as you gave Esther boldness to stand before the king, risking her life for the sake of her people, give us the same boldness to speak truth, to walk in obedience, and to be vessels of light in a world that desperately needs your love. Help us to overcome fear, to silence doubt, and to trust that if you are with us, then who can be against us?
Lord, thank you for your divine intervention, those moments when you saved us from dangers that we did not see, when you opened doors we could not open, and when you shut doors that would have led to destruction. Thank you for aligning our lives in such a way that we might be in the right place at the right time, fulfilling a purpose greater than ourselves.
Father, strengthen the bonds of love in our homes. Let forgiveness, patience, and compassion reign among us. Heal the wounds that have caused division, restore what has been broken, and remind us that our homes are the first place where your kingdom can be reflected. Lord, protect our children and guide them into their purpose. Let them grow in wisdom, courage, and faith so that they, too, will know they were created for such a time as this.
Lord, we are also praying for our communities and our nations. Help us to show kindness to our neighbors, friends, and family. We live in a time of confusion, division, and uncertainty, but you are not a God of confusion. You are a God of order, peace, and righteousness. You will raise up men and women who will lead with integrity, compassion, and wisdom.
Lord, help us to recognize that every day you give us breath is a gift and an opportunity to walk in the calling you have placed on our lives. Sometimes that calling looks grand and visible, but often it looks like faithfulness in the small things.
Father, we know that the calling you place on our lives is not always easy. It may come with trials, challenges, and sacrifices. But the temporary struggles we face cannot compare to the eternal glory that awaits us. When we are weary, be our strength. When we are discouraged, be our hope. When we are afraid, be our peace.
Lord, help us to be people of compassion. Help us to see others the way you see them, not by their flaws, mistakes, or shortcomings, but as souls created in your image, worthy of love and grace. Teach us to pause, to listen, and to discern your leading. Remind us that even in silence, you are working. Even in waiting, you are faithful. And even when we cannot see the full picture, you are weaving all things together for our good and for your glory.
Father, thank you for the gift of your word. Just as you used Esther to save her people, you are reminding us that you are always raising us up, always working through those who are willing to say “yes.” Let us be among those who say, “Here I am, Lord. Send me.” Teach us to walk faithfully in our purpose and to live with the awareness that our lives are part of your greater plan.
Lord, we rest in the assurance that you are with us. Use us, guide us, and mold us for such a time as this.
In the mighty, matchless, and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
