“I know that my redeemer lives and that in the end, he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I will see him with my own eyes, I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!” (Job 19:25-27)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Keep on praying. We should be confident that our redeemer lives, and we should believe that in the end, he will stand triumphantly upon the earth. When our physical body has succumbed to decay, we can hold on to the hope that we will still behold God in our flesh. We will see Him with our own eyes; this vision is personal and intimate, meant for us alone, not for another. How deeply our hearts long for that moment, filled with anticipation and desire.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is February 11, marking the 42nd day of the year, and I am truly grateful to share this moment with each of you.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It fills my heart with joy and gratitude to connect with all of you as we embark on this spiritual journey together through the power of prayer.
Throughout the year, we will draw inspiration from the 66 books of the Bible, allowing our prayers and reflections to be guided by the rich narratives and teachings contained within. We will commence with the book of Genesis and weave our way to the book of Revelation.
For today’s prayer, let us turn our hearts and minds to the book of Job. Our scripture will be Job 19:25-27, which reads: “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.”
As we pray, let us embrace Job’s unwavering faith in the face of despair. His declaration of hope, that even amidst our struggles and trials, there is a Redeemer who stands firm and offers us the promise of eternal life. May this truth encourage and strengthen our prayers today, as we seek a deeper connection with God and a clearer understanding of His plan for our lives.
Let's come together in prayer, inviting our Redeemer to guide us, renew our spirits, and fill us with His peace.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before your throne of grace, with open hearts, seeking your guidance. Lord, you are our refuge and our strength, a very present help in times of trouble. You are holy, righteous, merciful, and true, and there is none like you in all the heavens or the earth. Father, we long for a deeper connection with you.
Father, Job declared, “I know that my redeemer lives and that in the end, he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes, I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”
Lord, like Job, our hearts are yearning for you. We have a profound assurance that you, our Redeemer, live, and that ultimately, you will stand upon this earth. And Lord, though our physical body may decay and our skin may be damaged by time and circumstances, we are praying and holding onto the hope that we will see you, God in our resurrected flesh. Lord, we will witness you with our own eyes, our vision, unclouded by another's perception.
Father, we are praying with a deep yearning within our hearts, a longing that resonates within us. We long to see you face-to-face, to dwell in your presence, and to experience the fullness of your glory.
Lord, you are the God who never leaves us nor forsakes us. Help us to approach your throne of grace with confidence, not in our own strength or righteousness, but through your blood.
Father, as our bodies and spirits sometimes grow weary, today, we are asking for your strength. For you are reminding us that those who wait upon you, our Lord, will renew their strength, that they will rise on wings like eagles, that they will run and not grow weary, that they will walk and not faint.
Father, renew our faith, deepen our love, and stretch out your hand of mercy over every hurting saint, and let us feel the depth of your love.
Father, in times of trial and uncertainty, when our burdens feel heavy and our vision grows dim, remind us of your unfailing promises. Help us to surrender our worries, our doubts, and our fears into your hands. Help us to remember that you are sovereign over all things, and that nothing escapes your sight. When we cannot see the path ahead, guide our steps. When we feel overwhelmed, remind us that your grace is sufficient. When we face loss or disappointment, let us find comfort in your hope because you have the power to give us wisdom in our daily lives. Help us discern your will in our decisions.
Father, protect us from temptation and lead us away from paths that would draw us away from you.
Lord, in closing, please have mercy upon us. especially when we are tempted to despair, remind us again of Job’s words: “I know that my Redeemer lives.” I know who God is, and I know the power my God has. He can do great things in our lives.
That truth is our anchor, our hope, our song, and our salvation. Father, until that day, help us to be faithful. Because of you, we have hope. Because of you, we can face tomorrow. Let us never forget the depth of your love. Let us never forget that you see us, know us, and care for us. And let us never cease to give you glory, honor, and praise.
We pray all of this in the glorious, matchless, powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
