“But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” (Psalm 1:2)

Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. In the law of the Lord, you can meditate day and night. His true joy and passion lie in the teachings and commandments of the Lord. He finds profound satisfaction and purpose in studying these laws, immersing himself in their wisdom. Day after day, and night after night, he reflects deeply on their meaning, allowing them to guide his thoughts and actions, as he seeks to align his life with their principles.

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is February 12, the 43rd day of the year, and it's a reminder of the blessings that each new day the Lord is bestowing upon us.

I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic located in Salem, New Jersey. It brings me joy to connect with each one of you as we embark on this profound journey together, exploring the transformative power of prayer in our lives.

This year, our prayers will be deeply rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We will embark on our exploration in the book of Genesis, progressing through each book until we reach Revelation. Each step of this journey promises to enrich our understanding and deepen our faith in God’s word.

For today’s prayer, we will reflect on the book of Psalms, specifically Psalm 1:2, which beautifully states: “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

The Lord is inviting us to find joy and delight in the Word of God, encouraging us to engage with the Word of God that is revealing to us.

Let us pray for the wisdom to clearly recognize our divine purpose and the courage to follow through with the plans that God has set before us. May our hearts be open and our spirits receptive to the guidance He is offering us.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, our God, and our Savior.

Father, we humbly come before you with our hearts full of gratitude and reverence. Thank you for this moment to pray, this sacred time when we can bow before you. Thank you for your endless mercy and for your faithfulness.

Lord, we are so grateful that you never give up on us. Even in our darkest valleys, even in our moments of weakness, when we feel unworthy or distant, you are always near. You are reminding us that nothing can separate us from your love.

Father, thank you for your steadfast promise.

You are reminding us that “the one whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on it day and night, is like a tree planted by rivers of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.”

Father, today we are praying so we can become rooted and grounded in you and that our lives can bear fruit.

Lord, help us to acknowledge your laws and to find joy and delight in them. Too often, we treat obedience as a burden rather than a blessing. But you, Lord, have not given us the power of fear, but of a sound mind.

Father, help us to treasure your words because your words are sweeter than honey to our souls, more precious than gold to our spirits.

Lord, teach us to immerse ourselves in your truth day and night, not only when we are in need, but continually, faithfully, and joyfully. Help us to pray on your word when we wake in the morning and when we lay our heads down at night. Let it shape our thoughts, transform our perspectives, and mold us into the likeness of who you are.

Father, guide us along the path of righteousness. So often, we wander, and the distractions of this world pull us away from you. Lord, illuminate the way you have set before us so that we can walk with confidence, courage, and faith. Even when the road is difficult, remind us that you will always go before us, that you are our Shepherd leading us beside still waters and restoring our souls.

Lord, give us strength to endure the trials we face. Give us wisdom to make decisions that will honor you. Give us patience when the answers we long for seem delayed. And give us peace that surpasses all understanding, the peace that only you can provide.

Father, extend healing to the sick, comfort to those grieving, provision to those who are in need, and hope to the weary. Help us to be quick to listen, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness.

Lord, as we go about our daily lives, let us not forget that we are called to be children of God. Let our words bring encouragement, not discouragement. Let our actions reflect your character, not our own selfishness.

Father, thank you for the gift of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Through His sacrifice on the cross, we are forgiven, restored, and given eternal life. May we never lose sight of the depth of that love, and may our lives be a living testimony to the power of His grace.

Lord, as we close this prayer, draw us nearer to you, forgive us of all our sins, and let us never grow weary. May the meditation of our hearts and the words of our mouths be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, our Rock, our Redeemer, and our firm foundation.

We offer all these prayers in the precious, powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior…Amen.

Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
