“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.” (Psalm 4:1)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Pray with assurance. The Lord is your helper and will deliver you. O God of my righteousness, listen to my plea as I raise my voice in prayer. In times of distress, you have broadened my heart and spirit, providing comfort and relief when I needed it most. I beseech you to show mercy upon me in this moment of turmoil and grant me the strength to overcome my challenges. I earnestly seek your attention and guidance. Please hear my heartfelt cry.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is February 14, the 45th day of the year, and God is still blessing us.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It brings me joy to connect with all of you as we journey together through the transformative power of prayer.
As mentioned before, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. Starting in Genesis and ending in the book of Revelation.
Today, we are continuing in the book of Psalms, and our scripture will be taken from Psalm 4:1, and it reads: “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.”
Let us examine this message as we open our hearts in prayer. Let us ask the Lord for guidance and strength to boldly call unto him during our time of prayer.
Together, let us pray for the wisdom to recognize our purpose and the courage to fulfill God’s plan.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Almighty Lord, God, and Savior.
Father, we come before you with our hearts humbled and open to your will. Lord, we are seeking your presence and praying for your mercy and your guidance. You are our refuge and our strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
Lord, hear us when we call, O God of our righteousness. Just as the psalmist declared, you have and will continue to enlarge us when we are in distress. When we felt trapped and burdened, you will give us room to escape, you will open doors we can not see, and you will make a way when there seemed to be no way.
Father, today, we are praying and asking you to have mercy upon us and hear our prayers. Lord, sometimes we lean on our own understanding instead of fully leaning on you. We run to worries sometimes, before we run to prayer. And we grasp for control instead of surrendering to you.
Forgive us, Lord. Forgive us for the times we have doubted you, for the times we allowed fear to drown out our faith, and for the times we placed more trust in earthly things than in your eternal glory. Lord, wash us clean and help us align with your will.
Lord, when life feels heavy, when the future looks uncertain, and when challenges press us on every side, remind us that you are with us. You are the God who never leaves His sheep. You are the Rock that cannot be shaken, the Fortress that keeps us safe. May we never forget that you are our source of peace, our provider, and the lifter of our heads.
Lord, deliver us in times of distress. When discouragement and temptation rise, strengthen our faith to cling to what is holy. Comfort us with the reminder that you are close to the brokenhearted. And you are with us, and you are our Rod and staff, and you comfort us.
Father, you know the struggles everyone who is praying is facing, for nothing is hidden from you. You know our needs before we speak them. You understand our pains even when we cannot put them into words. So, Lord, we are praying and laying everything at your feet. Please give us courage. We giving you our worries, our fears, and our hearts' desires.
Lord, teach us to trust you. If we have sinned in ways that hinder our prayers, Lord, please forgive us. Today, we are bringing those sins before you. Cleanse us. Purify us. Remove every obstacle that is standing between us and break every yoke in our lives that is discouraging us.
Lord, let nothing, no pride, no unforgiveness, no hidden sin, stand in the way of your blessings for our lives, for we know that when we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Lord, we are praying for a heart that is sensitive to your spirit. Help us to hear your voice more clearly in our daily lives. Teach us to listen when you are reaching out to us, and give us the courage to obey when you call us to step forward. Let us not be influenced by the noise of the world, but keep us grounded in your word and anchored in prayer. so that we will not drift away from you.
Lord, remember everyone who is praying. Those among us who are weary, strengthen them. Those who are anxious, grant peace that surpasses all understanding. Those who are grieving, wrap them in your loving arms around each and every one of us. Those who feel alone, remind them that you will never leave nor forsake them. And those who are waiting, give them patience and hope, remind them that your timing is perfect.
Lord, protect our families, guide them, and draw them closer to you. So many are broken and so many are hurting, but we believe that you are still sovereign, still in control, and still working all things together for our good. So, we can rejoice in our prayers and shout Hallelujah to your holy name.
Lord, let our lives reflect your love and compassion to others. Teach us to serve you wholeheartedly and to sacrifice without reservation.
Father, in closing, thank you for the gift of prayer, for the privilege to know that you are near and working on our behalf. We do not take this moment lightly, Lord, for we know that prayer changes things, and more importantly, prayer changes us. We want to be more like you and we want to reverence you because you are our everlasting God.
Thank you for hearing us and for answering according to your perfect will.
In the mighty, precious, and matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we pray… Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
