“For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12)

Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. God will bless you with favor and compass you with a shield. “O Lord, you are faithful and just; You will bestow Your blessings upon those who strive for righteousness. With Your divine favor, you surround us like a protective shield, safeguarding our hearts and guiding our paths, ensuring that we walk in Your light and grace.”

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is February 15, the 46th day of the year, and God is still blessing us.

I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It brings me joy to connect with all of you as we journey together through the transformative power of prayer.

As mentioned before, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. Starting in Genesis and ending in the book of Revelation.

Today, we are continuing in the book of Psalms, and our scripture will be taken from Psalm 5:12, and it reads: “For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

The Lord is reminding us that his significant blessings will lead to deliverance.

Let us pray for the wisdom to recognize our purpose and the blessings that are flowing into our lives.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, our God, and our Protector.
Father, we come before you with humble hearts, filled with gratitude, reverence, and love. Thank you for the gift of another day, and for the assurance that no matter what we face, you are with us. For your mercy and unfailing love will never fail.

Lord, our hearts are overflowing with thanksgiving, for you are supplying all our needs according to your riches in glory. Thank you for the food on our tables, the roofs over our heads, and the loved ones who surround us. Help us not to take the grace you extend to us daily for granted. But help us to be grateful that you are a gracious God. You are the God who sees, who knows, who understands every thought, every burden, and every longing. Your grace is sufficient, your grace carries us when we are weak, your grace strengthens us when we are weary, and your grace will restore us when we have strayed.

Lord, you are reminding us that “you will bless the righteous and surround them with favor as with a shield.” Today, we are resting on that promise, not because of our own goodness, but because of your righteousness, your grace, your mercy, and your love that surrounds us.

Lord, thank you for reminding us that you are sovereign, nothing escapes your knowledge, and you are working all things together for our good according to your purpose.

Father, you are a God who protects. Your presence brings peace, strength, and hope. Thank you for watching over us when we sleep, when we work, when we travel, and when we face challenges that could have discouraged us—you are still watching, because you carried us.

Heavenly Father, sometimes trusting in your divine plan can be difficult. We look at our circumstances, and they seem overwhelming. We see brokenness in our world, pain in our communities, pain in our families, pain in our marriages, and pain in our sicknesses.

But even in our shortcomings, we take comfort in knowing that your favor does not depend on our perfection, but on your unchanging love and mercy. Where we fall short, you stood in the gap. Where we fail, your grace abounds. And where we fear, your perfect love casts it out.

Lord, pour out your favor over our lives. Let your favor open doors that no one else could open. Let your favor open doors we cannot open, and let it guide us into places of blessing, opportunity, healing, and restoration. Let your favor rest upon our families, our homes, our minds, and our hearts. Surround us with your goodness like a shield that cannot be removed.

Lord, for every place where we feel uncertain, favor us. Strengthen our faith. Remind us that righteousness does not mean perfection, but alignment with you, walking in your truth, seeking your heart, resting in the salvation that you have already provided. Let us walk confidently, knowing that your favor follows the righteous not because of our performance, but because of your promise.

Lord, bless our relationships. Bless our decisions. Bless the work of our hands. Bless every good path that you have prepared for us. And when we are unsure of our next step, remind us that your shield surrounds us even in moments of waiting.

Father, thank you for loving us so deeply, so patiently, so faithfully. Thank you for reminding us that we never walk alone. Even on the days when we feel unseen, you see us. Even on days when we feel unworthy, you call us beloved. Even on days when we feel weak, your strength lifts us.

Lord, let your peace settle over every situation that tries to steal our joy. Replace worry with worship. Replace fear with faith. Replace heaviness with hope. Let your presence be the gentle whisper that calms our thoughts and reassures our hearts that you are in control.

Lord, we are praying for protection—not just physical protection, but spiritual, emotional, and mental covering. Keep on blessing the righteous with favor and continue to surround us with your shield.

Lord, guard our minds from discouragement. Guard our hearts from bitterness. Guard our spirits from anything that tries to pull us away from your truth. Surround us with your shield of favor in every direction—north, south, east, and west. Let nothing formed against us prosper, for you, O Lord, are our defender.

Father, today—and in the days ahead, keep us sensitive to your voice, and receptive to your leading. Help us to walk in the assurance that your blessing is not temporary; it is enduring. Your protection does not flicker; it remains constant. Your love never weakens; it sustains us through every season.

Lord, in closing, surround us with your peace. Surround us with your wisdom. Surround us with your compassion. Surround us with your protection. Surround us with your unshakeable favor. Let us dwell in the shelter of your care, knowing with full confidence that the Lord will bless the righteous and surround us with a shield.

In the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray…Amen.

Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
