“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivered him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Pray with assurance. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord will deliver us from them all. "The righteous often face numerous challenges and hardships throughout their lives, enduring various trials that test their faith and strength. Yet, in the midst of these afflictions, there is a profound assurance: the Lord remains a steadfast presence, offering deliverance and solace. Ultimately, He will guide us through every struggle, ensuring that we overcome each obstacle we encounter."
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is March 8, marking the 67th day of the year. Let us continue to give God thanks for another day and another opportunity to pray.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It brings me great joy to connect with each of you during our daily prayer.
As mentioned in previous episodes, our prayers this year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. Started in Genesis and will conclude in the book of Revelation.
Today, we are continuing in the book of Psalms. Our scripture will be taken from Psalm 34:19, which reads: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivered him out of them all.”
Today, as we pray, let us remember that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord will deliver us.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior.
Father, we come before you with our hearts lifted in gratitude for the precious gift of prayer. We acknowledge that it is by your mercy and grace that we are able to call upon your holy name. You are faithful, righteous, and accurate.
Father, we are thanking you for inviting us into communion with you through prayer. What a privilege, what a blessing, and what a profound gift you are showering upon us.
Lord, you are reminding us that “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You, O Lord, deliver us out of them all.” We know, Father, that life is not free from hardship. You never promised us a journey without trials, but you have promised your presence, your guidance, and your deliverance. So today, we know that you are faithful to carry us through.
Father, we recognize that the trials and challenges faced by the righteous are many, and though we may endure various afflictions, we hold fast to the promise of your unwavering support. In times of hardship and despair, we trust in your power to rescue and deliver us from every struggle we encounter. Your divine presence provides comfort and strength, reminding us that we are never alone in our battles. We place our fears and burdens in your hands, knowing that your love will guide us toward deliverance in due time.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that we are never alone; when afflictions surround us, whether sickness, financial struggle, broken relationships, loneliness, or unseen battles. Your Spirit intercedes for us, help us to see our trials through the lens of faith. What the enemy intends for evil, you, O God, can turn into good. In our afflictions, you teach us perseverance; in our weakness, you display your strength. When we are at the end of ourselves, you remind us that your grace is sufficient, for your power is made perfect in our weakness.
Father, refine us and draw us closer to you. You know every story, every tear, every prayer in the midnight hours. Wrap your loving arms around us and help us feel your presence so that our hope is renewed. Heal the sick, provide for the needy, restore the brokenhearted, and strengthen the weary.
Lord, we know that you see the road ahead of us, the challenges, the blessings, the opportunities, and even the obstacles. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight. Help us to surrender fully to you, trust that you are in control even when life feels uncertain. Teach us to lean not on our own understanding but to acknowledge you in all our ways, so that you may direct our paths.
Father, purify our hearts. Remove from us bitterness, fear, and doubt, and replace them with peace, joy, and happiness. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there is despair, bring hope. And where there is weakness, infuse us with the strength that comes only from your Spirit.
Lord, it is through you that we have salvation, redemption, and the promise of eternal life. Thank you for your blood that covers us, for your resurrection that assures us of victory, and for your intercession. May we never forget the depth of his love for us.
Father. Thank you for reminding us that everything will be added unto us when we put you first in our lives. May our words reflect your love, may our actions glorify your name, and may our lives be a testimony of your grace.
Lord, as we close this prayer, help us to rest in the assurance that you are our Deliverer and no hardship is greater than your power. We believe that you are working all things together for our good.
Thank you for hearing our prayer. Thank you for loving us with an everlasting love. Thank you for being our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. We place our lives, our families, our burdens, and our futures in your hands, knowing they are safest with you.
In the mighty, matchless, and saving name of Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
