“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. In the city of our God, in His holy mountain.” (Psalm 48:1)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Pray with confidence. Great is the Lord, whose majesty and power demand our deepest reverence and admiration. He is to be celebrated and honored in every moment. In the heart of our God’s city, nestled upon His sacred mountain, we find a place of divine beauty and refuge, a testament to His glory and presence among us.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is March 11, marking the 70th day of the year. Let us take a moment to express our gratitude to God for the gift of life and for granting us another precious opportunity to come together in prayer.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It fills my heart with joy and gratitude to connect with each of you during our daily prayer.
As mentioned in previous episodes, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. Started in Genesis and will conclude in the book of Revelation.
Today, our scripture will be taken from Psalm 48:1, which reads: “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. In the city of our God, in His holy mountain.”
Today, we are reminded of the greatness of the Lord, who is truly worthy of our praises. As we pray, let us open our hearts and celebrate his goodness.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Wonderful Lord, God, and Redeemer.
Father, thank you for gathering us in reverence before the greatness of your majesty and the depth of your everlasting love. We lift our voices during our prayer today to glorify you, for there is none like you.
Lord, you are holy, righteous, merciful, and trueful. We celebrate Your faithfulness, for “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.”
Lord, thank you for reminding us that your glory fills not just the sacred spaces, but every corner of creation. You are present on the mountaintop and in the valley, in the greatness of the heavens and in the quietness of our hearts.
Lord, you are magnificent, and we worship you. Thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for our families, our friends, and everyone you place in our lives to encourage and uplift us. Thank you for provision, seen and unseen, known and unknown. Thank you for shielding us from dangers we never even realized were near. Thank you for grace that carries us, for forgiveness that restores us, and for mercy that is new every morning.
Lord, thank you for reminding us of your greatness. You are worthy of our praise. You reign in the city of our God, upon His holy mountain, a place of beauty and sanctity. In this sacred moment, we gather to offer our prayers, seeking to open our hearts fully to you. Let our voices rise in gratitude and adoration, acknowledging your majesty, love, and faithfulness in our lives. Together, let us celebrate your presence in our lives. May our praises rise like incense, filling the atmosphere with gratitude and reverence to honor you for all that you have done for us. Lord, you deserve all glory, honor, and the praise that is due unto your holy name.
Father, help us to embrace the fullness of who we are as your children. Too often, we forget that we are made in your image, crafted by your hands, cherished beyond measure, and called to live a life of purpose. Thank you for reminding us that we are not defined by our failures, our fears, or the things of the world. We are defined by you. We are your beloved children. Your sons and daughters, so washed us in your precious blood, redeemed and made us whole.
Lord, help us not to struggle with doubt, fear, and uncertainty today. For you never turn away from those who call upon your holy name.
Lord, help us to never feel that we are unworthy, unloved, or forgotten by you. Remind us as we go through our day that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, chosen and dearly loved by you. Fill our spirits with praise and let worship overflow in our hearts.
Father, guide our steps. Teach us to walk in humility, to love, and to be wise. Help us to live as lights. Give us the courage to stand for truth and persevere no matter the storm. When the path is unclear, be our guide. When the load feels heavy, be our strength. When we feel alone, remind us of your constant presence.
Lord Jesus, thank you for the hope of eternal life. May our lives reflect your love, your patience, and your mercy. Shape our hearts to be more like yours. Help us to forgive, serve, and love without expectation.
Great and mighty God, fill us with your peace, so that we can praise you not only for what you have done, but for who you are. You are our refuge, our strength, and our everlasting hope.
Father, in closing, with hearts full of gratitude, we are lifting our voice in worship, for you are worthy of all praise, all honor, and all glory. May our lives be living testimonies of your goodness and grace.
In Jesus Christ’s holy and precious name, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
