“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Pray with assurance and celebrate the Lord during your prayer time. “Those who find their dwelling in the hidden sanctuary of the Most High will find themselves sheltered under the protective embrace of the Almighty. I will confidently proclaim of the Lord, ‘He is my safe haven and my stronghold; my God, in whom I place my unwavering trust.’”
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Let's give God thanks for another day, for his mercy, and for the love He's bestowing upon us.
Today is March 21, marking the 80th day of the year, and God is still blessing us. Let us give him thanks for the love he is bestowing upon us.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. Every day, the Lord is filling my heart with joy to connect with each of you during our daily prayer. As we go through this day, we can celebrate the goodness of God. Knowing that life is not perfect, but God is perfect.
As mentioned in previous episodes, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We started in Genesis and will conclude in the book of Revelation at the end of this year.
Today, we are continuing in the book of Psalms. Our scripture will be taken from Psalm 91:1-2, which reads: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
The Lord is inviting us to explore the concept of the "secret place," a refuge where we can find relief, comfort, help, support, and safety in God’s presence.
In moments of uncertainty or fear, we can find peace and assurance in declaring, “He is my God; in Him will I trust."
Today, God is assuring us that no good thing will be withheld from us if we decide to totally surrender to him. Let us continue our prayer, for the Lord will give us grace and peace.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord, God, and Creator.
Father, we come before you with humble and grateful hearts, lifting up our voices in thanksgiving for the gift of life, the blessing of community, and the privilege of being able to draw near to you in prayer. We acknowledge you as the One who formed the heavens and the earth, and who sustains us moment by moment.
Lord, you are full of majesty, mercy, and everlasting love.
Father, thank you for reminding us that “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
Lord, how comforting it is to know that we are never alone, that your presence covers us like a shield, and that your love surrounds us like a warm embrace.
Lord, today we thank you for the beauty of creation that speaks of your glory. From the rising of the sun to its setting, from the smallest flower to the vast oceans, everything declares your majesty. The rhythm of the seasons reminds us that you are not only our Creator but also our Sustainer.
Father, as we walk through the challenges of daily life, we ask for the strength to remain faithful to you. Motivate us to live with integrity, even when no one else is watching. Help us to be honest in our dealings, compassionate in our relationships, and steadfast in our commitment to righteousness.
Lord, your secret place paints a picture of our intimate communion with you, our Almighty Savior. It emphasizes the strength and security we will find when we truly trust you. So, we are praying and asking you to help us communicate sincerely and build a stronger relationship with you.
Father, thank you for reminding us that we need to “abide under the shadow of you, our Almighty” for you are our protective covering, you are a strong fortress, and the stronghold that shields us from the storms of life.
Lord, you are our refuge and fortress, a shelter in times of trouble. In your presence, we will find safety and strength. As we go through this day, let us consider the depth of trust we can place in you, our God. Help us to recognize you not only as a refuge during times of trouble but also as our steadfast stronghold in every season.
Lord, help us no longer to fall short, not to choose fear over faith, selfishness over service. Merciful Father, cleanse our hearts and renew our minds so that we can walk with integrity. Teach us to trust you fully, to acknowledge you in all our ways, knowing that you will direct our paths.
Gracious God, you see our burdens, you know those who are grieving, those who are weary, those who are anxious, and those who feel forgotten. Lord, let your Spirit move within us, healing what is broken, strengthening what is weak, and renewing what feels lost.
Lord, in moments of uncertainty and struggle, help us to be rooted in love, grounded in faith, and covered by your protection. You alone do we place our trust. Help us to pray faithfully for unity, compassion, and love in our home, workplaces, communities, and around the world.
O God, help us seek comfort in your presence, for your guidance will lead us through the darkest times. And our faith in your wisdom will strengthen our determination and brighten our path forward.
Father, help us not only to hear your word but live as children of light. Help us to be eager in our service and be faithful in our prayer. Help us to bless others and respond with generosity and kindness to everyone we meet.
Lord, in closing with grateful hearts, you are our refuge, our fortress, and our God. In you alone we place our trust. May we abide in the secret place of your presence, sheltered under the shadow of the almighty, now and forevermore.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
