“Oh, that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare his works with rejoicing.” (Psalm 107:21-22)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Oh, how deeply I wish that all people would take a moment to celebrate and express their gratitude to the Lord for His unwavering goodness and the remarkable wonders He has performed for humanity! May they offer their heartfelt sacrifices of thanksgiving and joyfully proclaim the magnificent works He has accomplished, sharing their stories with gladness and praise.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is March 30, the 89th day of the year.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. Thank you for joining us today as we gather in prayer.
As mentioned in previous episodes, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We began our journey in Genesis and will conclude in Revelation by the end of the year. Let’s allow God’s word to guide our prayers.
Today, we are delving deeper into the book of Psalms. Our focus will be on Psalm 107:21-22, which reads: “Oh, that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare his works with rejoicing.”
In these verses, the psalmist emphasizes the importance of gratitude and acknowledges the divine blessings the Lord is bestowing upon us.
The Lord is reminding of our responsibility to foster a spirit of thankfulness and joy, joining in the chorus of praise for all the wonderful works that he has done for us.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Magnificent Savior.
Father, we come before you with humble and grateful hearts. Acknowledging your majesty, your holiness, and your sovereignty over all creation. You alone are worthy of all our devotion.
Lord, what a blessing it is to know that the God who rules the universe is stooping down to hear the prayers of us, His people.
Father, thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to intercede for us when we don’t even know how to pray.
Lord, too often our hearts grow distracted by the cares of this world. We become weighed down by our worries, our failures, and our own desires. But today, we are laying everything at your feet. We are echoing your words. Oh, that men would earnestly acknowledge and praise the Lord for His boundless goodness, recognizing the extraordinary wonders He has performed for all his people.
Lord, help us cultivate a spirit of praise that rises above our circumstances. let us approach you with heartfelt sacrifices of thanksgiving, expressing our gratitude not just in words but also through our actions. May we joyfully declare your marvelous deeds, sharing the stories of your grace and mercy, with others.
Lord, help us to see your hand at work in our lives. Teach us to trust you, even when the road ahead feels uncertain. Let gratitude overflow from our lips, even when it looks different from what we expected.
Lord, "Oh, that men would praise the Lord" captures a yearning for a collective response to your kindness, highlighting how easily we can overlook the daily manifestations of your grace. The call to "sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving" reminds us that while our gratitude may come at a cost, whether it be our time, effort, or resources, it ultimately leads to a deeper connection with you, our Creator.
Father, thank you for the gift of life. This act of sacrificing is not only about material things, but also reflects a heart truly aligned with thanksgiving.
Lord, help us to "declare your works with rejoicing," let our praise and gratitude be not only personal but shared within our communities. Help us to proclaim your deeds joyfully, inspire others to recognize and celebrate your goodness.
Lord, thank you for the challenges and trials we face, even when they are painful, for through them you refine our faith and draw us closer to you. You remind us that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because your love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Father, help us not to despise our trials but to recognize them as opportunities to become more like Christ.
Lord, thank you for the family and friends you’ve placed around us, and for the daily mercies that are new every morning. We thank you for the beauty of creation: for the sunrise that declares your glory. Thank you for every blessing, both seen and unseen, that sustains us day by day.
Father, teach us how to love one another as you have loved us. Help us to forgive, to serve humbly, and to walk in unity. We ask for wisdom in our relationships, patience in our conversations, and grace in our actions.
Father, we surrender ourselves fully to you. Shape us, mold us, and transform us into your likeness. Teach us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Let every word and every action be a reflection of your character flowing in our lives.
Lord, with hearts gratitude, we close this prayer in the name above every name, the name of Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose again so that we might have eternal life. Thank you for hearing our prayer.
In Jesus Christ’s mighty and precious name, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
