Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is April 1, the 91st day of the year. Our hearts are filled with joy at the arrival of spring, which signifies renewal and joy after the challenges of winter.

I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. Thank you for joining us another day, as we gather in prayer.

As mentioned in previous episodes, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We began our journey in the book of Genesis and will conclude in the book of Revelation by the end of the year.

Today, we are delving deeper into the book of Psalms. Our focus will be on Psalm 119:11, which reads: “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

As we pray, let us take this moment to reflect on the word of the Lord, so that we do not sin against him.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord, our God, and our Loving Savior.

Father, we come before you today with our hearts full of gratitude and reverence. Thank you for bringing us safely into this new month. Each day we wake is a gift from you, and the beginning of a new month reminds us of fresh mercies and new opportunities to walk more closely with you.

Lord, you are reminding us that “Your word we should treasure in our hearts, so we might not sin against You.”

We confess that sometimes we take your word lightly or rush past them in the busyness of life. Father, help us to remember that your word is not just instruction, but life itself, bread for our souls, water for our thirst, healing for our wounds, and hope for our hearts. Teach us to meditate on your words day and night, not out of duty but out of love, until it becomes written on the tablets of our hearts.

Lord, as this month unfolds, we know that challenges and trials may come. Some of us are carrying hidden burdens that weigh heavily, fears that whisper in the night, or grief that lingers in the quiet moments of our lives. Others face uncertainty about health, work, relationships, or decisions that need to be made. But you are reminding us that you are our treasured and ever-present help in trouble.

Heavenly Father, give us wisdom, courage, and humility to lean on you rather than our own understanding. Renew our minds so that we can honor you. Renew our hearts and our spirits so that our faith can grow deeper, our prayers can become more fervent, and our worship can rise to you as a pleasing offering. May this month be a time of growth, where old wounds are healed, broken relationships mended, and our souls refreshed in your presence.

Lord, cover our families with your peace. Protect our children from harm and fill our hearts with joy and wisdom. Bless our workplaces with integrity and strengthen our churches to be houses of truth and worship. Teach us to shine as lights in dark places, to love even when it is difficult, and to forgive as freely as you have forgiven us.

Lord Jesus, thank you for laying down your life so that we might live. As we step into this new month, we surrender ourselves to you. Use us as vessels of your grace and testimonies to showcase your faithfulness to everyone we meet.

Lord, your word, help us as we go through this day to treasure in our hearts, so we do the things that are right and pleasing in our sight.

Holy Spirit, guide us day by day and fill our homes with your presence. Let this month be filled with answered prayers, breakthroughs, healing, restoration, and new beginnings. For you are faithful to complete the work you have begun in us. So, we are surrendering everything to you, asking for your comfort.

In the wonderful, mighty, and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.

Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
