Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. As mentioned earlier, our prayers throughout the year will be taken from the 66 books of the Bible. We began in the book of Genesis and will conclude in the book of Revelation.

Today, we are diving into the book of Haggai. Our scripture will be taken from Haggai 1:13, and it reads: “Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, spoke the Lord’s message to the people, saying, 'I am with you, says the Lord.”

The Lord is reminding us that prayers have the remarkable ability to connect us. He stands beside us, offering steadfast protection and guidance throughout our journeys. The assurance of Haggai served not only as a comforting reminder of God’s constant presence in our lives but also as a source of encouragement during tumultuous times of uncertainty and hardships.

As we pray, let us reflect on our relationship with the Lord, sharpen our faith in his promises, and draw strength from the knowledge that we are never alone.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you in this moment of prayer, filled with gratitude. Just as you spoke with clarity and purpose through your faithful servant Haggai, affirming your unwavering presence with him, we are seeking the strength to hear your voice, to adopt your wisdom, and to act upon your guidance, for you are always by our side. You know each hidden corner of our hearts, our deepest fears, our heaviest burdens, and our most fervent longings. Into these complex areas of our lives, you impart this life-changing truth: you are with us.

Lord, help us not to become distracted by the storms of life. Too often, we look at our circumstances and forget that you are near. We see the storms of life, the disappointments that weigh us down, the delays that test our patience, and we wonder if you are listening. In those challenging moments, we question whether you are truly hearing us.

Lord, open our hearts to fully trust in your consistent promises. Help us embrace the true joy that comes from a personal relationship with you and find comfort in your divine presence. Lord, your presence is like a constant beacon; you are Emmanuel, the God who dwells among His people. From the dawn of creation to this very moment, you have chosen to remain close to us, guiding our paths and filling our souls with your Spirit, assuring us that we are never alone.

Lord, when loneliness attempts to take root, remind us of your steadfast presence. When we feel unseen, help us to remember that you are watching over us. When our voices feel unheard, help us to remember that you are always listening. And in our moments of weakness, remind us that your strength is made perfect, even in our weakness.

Lord, you declare through Haggai that you are with us. You summon us to rise, to rebuild our lives with intention, and to walk in faithful obedience. You want us to cultivate a deeper awareness of your presence, so that we do not navigate our days in forgetfulness, forgetting that you are our companion. When we go to work, let us carry the assurance that you are working alongside us. At home, let us remember that you are present among us. As we sleep at night or struggle with anxious thoughts, let your presence soothe our spirits. In times of uncertainty, may we draw closer to you, for you are with us.

Father, have mercy on those who feel distant from you, those burdened by grief, and those battling illness. Wrap your loving arms around each of us, letting us feel your nearness. Fill our hearts with hope and assure us that we are never alone. Surround us with your peace that goes beyond our understanding.

Lord, awaken our hearts to recognize your presence in the ordinary moments of life, the radiant sunrise, and the magnificent beauty of creation. Help us to see your hand at work in the most unexpected places and never let us take for granted the miracle of your closeness. Teach us to abide in you, drawing strength from your unwavering presence, and to trust that even when our vision is clouded, you are skillfully weaving all things together for our ultimate good.

As we conclude this time of prayer, may the powerful words of Haggai resonate in our hearts. In moments of doubt, let us silence our worries with your truth. When fear tries to creep in, may we replace it with faith. And when despair attempts to cast its shadow, cover us with the promise of your presence, for you are with us.

Lord, we place our trust not in our own strength or understanding but in your faithful presence that guides us. You are with us in seasons of abundance and in times of need, amidst joy and sorrow, in clarity and confusion. With hearts full of gratitude, faith, and peace, we close this prayer, reassured that the same God who spoke through Haggai is speaking to us even now.

In the holy, saving, and powerful name of Jesus Christ… Amen.

Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
