Welcome to another episode of the EBC's Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Matthew 6:9-11, which reads: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.”
The Lord wants us to keep on praying and open our hearts to him. Let us pray with humility. For our Father, who dwells in the majestic heavenly realm, rain above all. May his kingdom manifest among us, transforming our earthly existence, so his holy will can unfold on this earth just as it does in the magnificent splendor of the heavens.
Lord, as we pray, provide us with the nourishment we need, so we can be strengthened to fulfill your divine purpose in our lives
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. our Lord, our God, and our Savior. Father, we come before you with humble hearts, overflowing with gratitude for the precious gift of prayer.
Lord, our Father in heaven, we bow in reverence, hallowing your holy name. We ask for your kingdom to come and your divine will to be done on earth, just as it is in the glorious realms of heaven. Nourish us this day with our daily bread, and instill within us a deep desire for your kingdom to manifest more fully in our lives, within our families, throughout our communities, and across every nation of this world.
Lord, as we look around, we see a world marred by brokenness, pain, division, and suffering. We are clinging to the promise that you are near to the brokenhearted, offering comfort to those who mourn, and bringing light into the darkest corners of our lives. Help us to become bearers of that divine light, and grant us the strength to persevere in doing good without becoming weary or disheartened.
Father, teach us the art of surrendering our plans to you. Grant us the trust to lean on you, even when the path is unclear. Remind us that your ways are infinitely higher than our own, and your thoughts far surpass ours. In every season of life, whether joy or trial, guide us to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness, reassured that all else will be provided for us.
In this world filled with distractions, temptations, and enticing false promises, we desperately need your Spirit to guard our minds and renew our hearts. Create in us pure hearts and restore a steadfast spirit within us. May our actions align harmoniously with your divine will. May our words be infused with grace, and may our thoughts dwell on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
Lord, please envelop our hearts with peace when anxiety seeks to overwhelm us; grant peace in our families when conflict arises; foster peace in our communities where division threatens unity; and let peace reign among nations torn by war and violence. You are the Prince of Peace, and we recognize that true peace flows only from you. Empower us to be diligent peacemakers.
Father, we want to witness your justice and righteousness flow forth like a mighty river in our lives. Where there is oppression, bring about liberation. Where there is injustice, illuminate the truth. Use us, Lord, as instruments of your justice, not fueled by anger or pride, but through humility, courage, and boundless love.
Lord, thank you for your perfect, unconditional, and unfailing love. Teach us to love one another as you have loved us, may our love be patient and kind, free from envy, boastfulness, or pride. Teach us to honor others, to eschew self-seeking, and to avoid quick anger. May our love keep no record of wrongs, but rejoice in the truth, always protecting, always trusting, always hoping, and always persevering.
Father, we lift those who are suffering in this moment, those facing illness, deep grief, loneliness, and financial struggle. Envelop them in your comforting presence and remind them they are never forgotten.
Lord, thank you for the blessings you are pouring into our lives, the gift of salvation, the presence of your holy Spirit, the beauty of creation, the love of family and friends, and the countless ways you provide for us each day. Help us recognize and cherish these blessings, give thanks continually, and use what you’ve entrusted to us to bless others generously.
As we conclude this time of prayer, guide us through the week ahead. Go before us, preparing the way so that all we do may bring glory to your holy name.
We pray all of this in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
