Welcome to another episode of the EBC's Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Matthew 7:11, and it reads: “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
The Lord's desire is to give wonderful blessings to those who earnestly seek him and ask for his guidance. His gifts far surpass the kindness we show to others and reflect a deep, unconditional love that transcends our limitations.
As we pray, let us pray with confidence and do not lose hope. The Lord knows what is best for us and will give good gifts when we ask him. If we, who are imperfect, understand how to bestow good gifts upon our children, just imagine how much more generous and loving our Father in heaven is.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with our hearts lifted in gratitude and humility. We acknowledge you as the source of every good and perfect gift, the one who holds all wisdom and love, the one who is closer to us than our very breath.
Father, we are praying and asking you for good things. We are earnestly seeking your abundant blessings. If we, with our flaws and imperfections, know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more will you, our loving Father who is in heaven, bestow blessings upon those who lift their voices in request to you?
Lord, even in our brokenness, even in our imperfection, we still know how to show love to those we care for. And if we, who are so limited, can do this, how much more will you, our gracious Father, pour out blessings on us, your children who call upon your name.
Father, you see those who are desperately in need today, those who are hurting. You see those who are battling sickness, those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, those who are struggling financially, and those who are wrestling with anxiety, loneliness, and despair. Lord, surround us with your presence and remind us that we are never alone.
Lord, thank you for the daily blessings that we sometimes overlook. Thank you for the strength to rise each morning, for the peace that comes in moments of stillness, and for the opportunities you place before us. Too often, we take these things for granted, forgetting that every blessing flows from you generously. Lord, thank you not just for what we see, but also for the countless ways you work behind the scenes for our good.
Father, we admit that our faith can waver when we face trials, disappointments, and seasons of uncertainty. But you remain faithful. Thank you for reminding us in moments of doubt that you are near, and working all things together for our good. Help us to lean not on our own understanding but to trust you, for your ways are higher than our ways and your thoughts far above ours.
Lord, thank you for being our protector. You shield us from dangers we never even recognize. You guard our steps, you keep us from harm, and even when challenges come, you turn everything into opportunities for growth and for your glory to be revealed. May we always remember that nothing can separate us from your love, not hardship, not sorrow, not fear, nor even death itself.
Father, you know our hearts better than we know ourselves. You understand the desires we carry, even the ones we cannot put into words. When we pray for guidance, when we cry out for help, you already know what is best for us. Lord, teach us to align our desires with yours. Teach us to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness, trusting that everything else will be added in its proper time.
Lord, fill our hearts with your wisdom. We need your light to navigate the challenges of this world. Help us to make decisions that honor you. Help us to treat others with compassion, forgiveness, and grace. When anger rises within us, replace it with patience. When fear tries to take hold, fill us with courage. When discouragement whispers lies, remind us of your truth and your promises that never fail.
Father, thank you for the extraordinary gifts you offer us, gifts that go beyond anything this world could ever provide. The gift of salvation, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the gift of eternal life. May we never lose sight of these treasures, and may our hearts always be filled with gratitude.
Lord, through every season, whether joy or sorrow, abundance or lack, remind us of your faithfulness. Teach us to be generous with our time, resources, and love, just as you are generous with us. Help us to forgive as we have been forgiven and to show mercy as you have shown mercy.
In the precious and perfect name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
