Robert Esche - President of Utica Comets
We team up with Rob Esche in this episode of another round.
Drafted in 1996, Robert Esche played 9-seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) first with the Phoenix Coyotes and later with the Philadelphia Flyers. Esche played in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy as a Goalie for the United States Men's Ice Hockey Team. In 2004, he participated in the World Cup of Hockey and participated in four world championships representing the United States.
As President of Mohawk Valley Garden, Esche successfully secured the Utica Comets, the American Hockey League (AHL) as the anchor tenant for the Utica War Memorial Auditorium (the Aud) by orchestrating a collaborative effort between countless politicians, investors and community figures.
Esche continues to remain a pillar of his community as chairman of the 'Save of the Day' Foundation.' Established in 2002, the foundation has raised over a million dollars in its efforts to help improve the lives of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
Esche has also built an impressive food and beverage portfolio with Aqua Vino, Tailor & the Cook, Kookie's Q, 72 Tavern and Grill, and Babe's Restaurant.
