It's All Perspective

But-Why-Design (Coined By Me)

Taylor Reiko

But-Why-Design? (a phrase coined by Taylor): The elements of a space that are categorized as aesthetic "nice-to-haves," and therefore, are not as highly prioritized or are ruled out early on in the design process due to concerns about how far a project’s budget can stretch. What I’ve found as a designer is that this is one common way we close ourselves off from all the potential our space can bring. This is what I call the "design scarcity effect," and I won’t let it influence pre-design thinking anymore! Join me in a chat as we talk about some of my favorite visually appealing design elements in all their intricate glory, so that, hopefully, when you get around to making improvements to your home, you'll know how you’d like to give a little extra love to your favorite corners.
