Episode 7: Elevating & Supporting LGBTQIA+ Youth w/Fortaleza Familiar
Join us on today's episode of What’s Up?/¿Qué Rollo? as I have the privilege of speaking with the wonderful gente de Fortaleza Familiar: Mimi Madrid, Val Ponce Nájera and intern Genesis. “Fortaleza Familiar is dedicated to the wellness of Indigenous Chicanx Latinx Lesbian Gay Bi Queer Trans Two-Spirit young people and their families in Colorado.”
The incredible Fortaleza Familiar is dedicated to creating safe and empowering spaces for LGBTQIA+ BIPOC youth. They believe in the power of youth and are committed to eliminating borders that may hinder their growth and self-expression.. They encourage creativity as a means of self-discovery and communication. They also value intergenerational healing and learning, fostering connections between different generations and promoting understanding and empathy.
Fortaleza Familiar hopes to create a world where everyone feels accepted, loved, and celebrated, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or cultural background.
