Pat's Peeps Podcast
Ep. 155 Today's Peep Features Awkward Shirtless Meetings and Parades, Random Musical Insight from Van Halen to Stevie Nicks and an Ultra-Rare Jose Feliciano that you Must Hear to Believe in Today's Rare Record Spin
Ever wondered how championship parades might change if athletes kept their shirts on? Join me as we humorously ponder this trend seen in Aaron Donald's recent celebration with the Rams. Plus, I'll share a hilarious personal encounter involving a shirtless individual in a business meeting—believe me, you don't want to miss this unexpected twist! As we navigate through some forgotten, amusing gems from my phone, we also offer a nod to our recent Halloween special and explore a raw Van Halen track that deserves a spotlight.
Looking back on a serendipitous 1970s record shopping spree with my mom, I recount the discovery of forgotten tracks and tales that shaped my musical tastes. From the comically terrible "Umbasa the Dragon" by the Turtles to the odd introduction to Cream's "Pressed Rat and Warthog," these stories promise to whisk you away on a nostalgic musical journey. You'll even hear about the peculiar Joe Walsh track that stands out for all the wrong reasons, adding a touch of humor to our stroll down memory lane.
On a more heartfelt note, I open up about the enduring challenges of unrequited love, inspired by Jose Feliciano's "Destiny Pats Peeps 155." It's a candid reflection on the helplessness one feels when emotions simply refuse to follow the logical path. Wrapping up with a warm thank you to our loyal listeners, I tease the exciting developments we have in store for Pat's Peeps 156, ensuring we keep that Friday spirit alive and kicking.
well, now we are back. It is the pats peeps, pats peeps podcast. Yeah, 15. Hey, now it's a Friday. How are ya how you doing? Hey, now it's the first day of November in the year of our Lord, 2024. As I peer today, I'm peering out my studio window into the beautiful foothills of Northern California, where today it's cloudy. It's cool, it actually rained yesterday on Halloween.
Speaker 1:Hey, I just want to start off by saying that I feel like we have an ever-growing audience. My name is Pat Walsh. This is Pat's Peeps 155. And I host the Pat Wall Show on KPK Radio and all your streaming platforms, including your free iHeart app. But you know what I've been noticing, and I thank you for this A lot of you, when you call my show or whether you're commenting on social media, a lot of you are saying, hey, loving the Pat's peeps, you're including that more and more and more, and I try to do this as consistently as possible.
Speaker 1:And well, I try to do it consistently. I'll just leave it at that. I try to. If I can do it every day, I try to. But just the fact that you guys are mentioning Pats Peeps podcast gives me such a good feeling. Now I try to work hard at this and not duplicate, for the most part, anything that I'm doing on my radio show. I kind of want them to be separate entities, and so I kind of feel the audience is growing because I'm getting these comments.
Speaker 1:So I want to start right there by saying thank you very, very much. And if you do, you know what? Here's what I hear. What was someone telling me yesterday? Oh, thank you for that update. Hey, it's the virus and threat protection For just $89.99 a month. You too, get off my computer. Who was just telling me? Who was just telling me? Um, oh, allison was just telling me that that she likes, like, if she has to do I think she said, like maybe housework or something like that, or do something around the house that she just starts the Pat's Peeps and it just starts to, and you know, it just starts going through the episodes and she binge listens to it. I would start naming names, because I can think of many of you, but I start throwing names out there and then I'm. You know I won't get to everyone and I don't want to do that either. I just don't want to leave anyone out. Suffice it to say I'm happy, thank you. I mean, believe it or not, you know, if you spread the word and you keep listening and you're loyal to listening to this, not only am I blessed and grateful for that, that you'd give a rip of any of this stuff that I had to goof on during the day or discuss things with you about, but I can't tell you what it's going to do. Let me explain something, because this just occurred to me.
Speaker 1:Many times here, through 155 podcasts, I have alluded to the fact that it's going to be bigger than this, that we have other things in the works. Sometimes, you know, when you say that you say it a few times, and you say it a few times, which I have, you know. Perhaps at some point someone starts to wonder well, what is that exactly? I know you've mentioned local businesses, so I want to explain to you kind of what's going on. I'm going to start there. Then I want to get into some fun stuff.
Speaker 1:Today I got a lot of random music I just want to talk about. It's going to be very musical, because when I plucked this record out of my rare 45 collection, I thought, well, now I've never heard that one. I don't think it's extraordinarily long too for a 45, I just noticed. So that got me on track, thinking about a bunch of other stuff. But here's what's going on. We're going to support small business at Pat's Peeps. If you are in the Sacramento area I mean area region, I'm talking about all the way to Marysville, yuba City, winters, dixon, lodi, galt, stockton, anyone in the area up in Auburn, placerville, the entire region and you're a business owner okay, and you want your business promoted, then we want to help you. Now, listen, here's what I just want to tell you about. I'm talking about cheap. Now listen, here's what I just want to tell you about. I'm talking about cheap. What I want to do.
Speaker 1:As many of you know, particularly on my radio show, I endorse many businesses, local mom-and-pop businesses and in no way shape or form because I'm a very humble guy do I want to brag, but I just want to say this these businesses are doing very well. I just went to lunch with the owner of one of these businesses last week and he sat there and he says Pat, it's amazing, really it's amazing your audience. He says you know, I used to advertise in the. What was it? The was? Was it the penny saver? I used to advertise in the penny saver. He said and we got great results. It was amazing Because, for whatever this guy, john Shook, who owns Roseville Numismatics and Coin Shop and it's a little business, a business that thought they were going to go out of business during the pandemic of 2020.
Speaker 1:And he says we used to use the penny saver we got a bunch of business, for whatever reason. The people that would pick up the penny saver also kind of were interested in, like the numismatics and the coin shops, whatever. There was a crossover, for whatever reason. They were trying to sell things. Maybe, you know, get a an idea what their collections are worth. Anyhow, we sat in Bennett's restaurant, another local restaurant, mom and pop in Roseville. We had this conversation and he just says you, even though the penny saver was great, which is, which is no longer around, of course, pardon me while I take a drink of water he said I'd done TV and radio and I didn't get very many results. But here we thought we were going to go out of business in 2020.
Speaker 1:And along comes Lori Gerbach, who I appreciate and adore, who walks into our little, tiny little mom and pop business and says to us hold on, let's try one more thing. And now one more thing that she recommended, and bless her for this. She says try, pat Walsh. And again I'm trying to brag. All I'm trying to tell you is I kind of have a feeling for how people want to be talked to in terms of businesses. Don't give me the big, giant temp sale Saturday, blah, blah, you know, with big production. I just want you to tell me why it would benefit me to stop in there into this local business. So that's how I do it. I don't want to belabor the point, but here's what's going on. So I've been working on this for four years.
Speaker 1:It has had to evolve since the pandemic. Once you try to include, let's say and I'm not going to give away any names a corporate entity that you really are just trying to help, you're trying to show them a new stream of revenue Like this is a great thing for you to look at, because you're going to be supporting local businesses, not just in this market. If it works and it's successful, which I firmly believe it will be, and so did they locally, they said Pat, this is going to help Business is wonderful. I was so excited and I said but this will help all the markets, so we'll make this the pilot market. We'll test it, a little test market and if it works, when it works, when it is successful, bam. Let's do this in all these cities so we can support small business. They loved it. Boom, next thing you know, it goes up the food chain right.
Speaker 3:JR, let me see that piece of paper, please. I mean, what does this say? Now, they're technical. What is this? Now, what if they slip on a taco? Well, rj, I don't know, I never thought about that. No, no.
Speaker 1:We got, no, we got to deny. There's no way. I'm thinking, look, are you kidding me, man? Anyhow, I don't want to get too much into that, but it's frustrating. So you rework it, get another hurdle, you rework it, you start to learn. And here's a good thing. I intended to have this out like two years ago, but it's okay. By the fact that I've had time to think about this, it'll be out. We're going to release, it'll be new in 2025, the other part of Pat's Peeps.
Speaker 1:By the way, if you are sick and tired of inflation, which I know you are, pat's Peeps is good, not just good for the businesses, but this is equally as important component. It's good for you Because, just like you're doing with the podcast, you're going to save money and get free stuff. So, without getting into the whole working model, think of it this way You're going to learn about local business who treat you with respect, that I have vetted, that I believe in, that I trust, and then I'm going to ask them to please give let's say it's a donuts. Can you give the peeps a donut one day? Free donut, maybe, 50% off, a second dozen, or you know a free dozen, or whatever, whatever it is olive oil. You know a free dozen or whatever. Whatever it is olive oil you go in, maybe, whatever they determine, let's say it's four bottles, because I use olive oil all the time, just as an example. Four bottles of locally processed and grown olive oil, nothing important, supporting our community, which, if we support the community, that business grows, guess what they have to hire people and you get a local product that you know is genuine and authentic from our area, which is good, if not better, than any olive oil in the entire world, and I've been to Italy numerous times Now I can tell you this is as good, if not, it's equal, if not better. You buy, I don't know. Let's say they say you buy three, four bottles or whatever. Here's your free bottle of olive oil. You can either have another bottle, just like this, or you can get one of our seasonal varieties, maybe it's I'm just making this up habanero or jalapeno, or garlic or lemon, or whatever, rosemary, and you would just, oh, oh, you're gonna love this.
Speaker 1:You know what? I don't want to give away all of our little secrets, but believe me when I tell you you know how you have to clip coupons in the store. You're not going to have to do that. Nope, no clipping, squat. And you know how everyone says because it's so convenient, just download our app, just go to our app. Here's one thing that we're going to do Screw the app. No app, no clipping. You don't have to download another app and clog your phone up. You don't have to clip any coupons. You just go get your free stuff or you go get stuff on discount. Okay, enough of that. I just want to let you know what was going on. You get to a hurdle, you rework it and you do the best for the business and for the people, and that's what I'm concerned with Now. Fun stuff.
Speaker 1:This morning, yes, I am celebrating along with my Dodger brethrens. Now you're going to go, pat, you just said local. How can you be a Dodger fan? Well, I am. Hey, I'm not down there supporting businesses in LA, although if they want to be a Pat's Peeps and they're good and they treat you right, I'm happy to do that. It just so happens I am a Dodger fan, which has nothing to do with Pats Peeps. By the way, if you're a Giants fan, listen, I don't have any businesses in San Francisco yet either. I would, since they need help because people under Prop 47, are vandalizing their businesses and breaking out their windows or what have you. I'll take business and support them, unlike what the government is doing in this state.
Speaker 1:So an incredible turnout, much excitement there for the big parade, huge turnout for the Dodgers championship parade, which is going on live, even as they speak. Believe me, I'm well aware that I'm where I'm at, where I live, but I don't know where you live. You could be listening in LA. You could be listening in Oregon. As I've said many times times goes back to my grandpa, my ma Dodgers. I have an idea when it comes to these championship parades, and I think this started with my Rams celebrating, in 2020, their Super Bowl, when Aaron Donald the beast decided he'd take his shirt off to give his speech, and then some other players took their shirt off. I'm still not in favor of guys at the parade now taking their shirts off. I mean, I love my Dodgers, I love my Rams. Feel free to keep your shirts on.
Speaker 1:I love seeing the kids out there. There's so many people. It's incredible. I just love seeing. This is what I love about baseball. It's just this generations Now they're out at Dodger Stadium. They're filling Dodger Stadium. Just love seeing the little kids in the Dodger uniforms. I just don't need to see the players shirtless. You read me?
Speaker 1:I was standing at a place at a business, trying to get a beer just recently. Just recently, standing in what was it? A maple room? It was a maple room. Hello, allison.
Speaker 1:Dude was standing there with no shirt on. I mean, like, how do you do that? How do you feel comfortable enough to walk in to a business and just stand there with no shirt on? Guy looked like he had a carpeted chest, you know, like a chia pet. I'm like, come on, dude, ain't going to call him bro, he's not my bro. I like, come on, dude, ain't gonna call him bro, he's not my bro. I mean, come on, man, feel free to put a shirt on. You're a spectacle. You're making a spectacle of yourself. You know you think pretty highly of yourself Standing there with no shirt on in a public business.
Speaker 1:Hey, how you doing? How you doing, man? Well, I was doing better until your carpeted chest hair was within two feet of me. Anyhow, they're celebrating in LA. Don't take your shirts off. Why did we start this trend? Don't do that, please. What else do we have? I need to go for a walk today. You know what I'm going to do on my phone. I'm going to have a show tonight. I'm going to clean out my phone. What do you mean? You're going to clean out your phone Because of what I do. I'm a talk show host. I send all these ideas to myself. I text them to myself. If you don't text it to yourself right away, oh, this is an idea I can use on my show. If you don't send it to yourself right away, you're going to forget it.
Speaker 3:What was?
Speaker 1:that I had. What was it? So now I got like a million things in my phone that I never even got to and some of it's really funny and great and goofy. So I'm going to get to some of that on my show tonight, cleaning out the phone as we close out the which is hard to believe the year 2024. Let's see. By the way, if you're looking at the past, peeps, and you'll see it's kind of like Halloween leftovers.
Speaker 1:What happened yesterday is I kind of got behind. I had so much to do Again going back to the business, trying to get that together and make that work, that I had done a Halloween special which I intended to have out yesterday afternoon, but because I had to do my radio show, it was still kind of uploading. Well, it did upload and it's fun. It's mostly not me, it's stuff I strung together. That's just some random things. A little bit of me in there, but some random things that I thought would be really goofy and funny for Halloween. I think you'll get a kick out of it. It's our trick-or-treat special, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you so much. Our trick-or-treat special that's on the Pat's Peeps. If you want to check that out, let's see it's kind of like leftover Halloween stuff.
Speaker 1:I want to do some music stuff. You mind, as I pull this record out, I'm not going to play it just yet. I'm going to play some other stuff, because when I thought of this I started thinking of other things. All right, so let's hear some random things, some fun, random stuff. This is from Room Mics. This is really cool.
Speaker 1:Van Halen I'm a big Van Halen fan. Here is Eddie Alex and Michael Anthony recording in the studio. No, david Lee Roth. So this is just as they're practicing the song that would become a huge song for them. Play it all the time on their radio. I still like this album. This is still my favorite album by them, but it's really cool to hear them groove this song, as they hadn't even released it yet and they're just doing the band without vocals. So here's Van Halen doing Jamie's Cryin'. We'll be right back. I bet you can't help, but to sing with it, right when he gets to that part. I know I was. It'll be kind of fun sometime. If I have tickets to give away, which I do tonight, heck, maybe I'll do it tonight. Do a little karaoke. We did it one time on the show, the Pat Wall Show, like play a track and have someone do karaoke. Then everyone could call in and vote who did the best. Takes a lot of guts, though, to call in a radio show and do karaoke live, we'll do it live.
Speaker 1:I don't have rights to this, I'm just sharing it, educating. So that's Van Halen Jamie's crying Pretty cool to hear that Raw track. Here's Cryin' Pretty cool to hear that Raw track. Here's another random musical thing this morning my brother Jim and I in our group text all of our siblings are in this group text and we talk every day, we goof around constantly in this thing and I said that. I said that. I said this to my brother Jim when we were kids. It still reminds me of Jim. When we were kids. We were in.
Speaker 1:I just have always loved records. So we were at Jumbo Market on Florin Road in South Sac on a hot summer day. We're in line and you know how they have the stuff in line the Enquirer and other magazines and Gum and Pez and all that crap. And on this day this is in the 70s, the early 70s, like 1971. It was. It was 1971. They had records in that little area coming up to the cash register and says, ma, can I get these records? Mom, please, please. And they were on sale really cheap. It was like a stack of records in there and you're like, wow, okay, and she got me the records because she knew I loved records and I take them home and it turns out they were like the and I kind of understood it at the time, what was going on.
Speaker 1:It was like the lesser celebrated songs, kind of a hit. Maybe you probably not even heard it, you can't remember it. From popular artists Like I had this song called Don't Shut Me Out by Bread. I don't know if anyone knows that song, kind of a catchy little thing, don't shut me out, anyhow, by Bread. Well, one of the songs was a song by the.
Speaker 1:One of these records was a record by the Turtles. You know, happy Together, flo and Eddie from Zappa, mothers of Invention. Anyhow, you know and as an adult now that I think about this, I kind of get more what they were. I think trying to do here Fails miserably, oh God, some of the early Mothers stuff was much different than Frank Slater stuff. But this has nothing to do with Frank Zappa, I mean. Anyhow, I don't want to get into all that. All I'm saying is there was the A side of this record.
Speaker 1:The minor hit by the Turtles was a song called Still Awake. Was it Still Asleep, something like that. Still Awake, still Asleep. I'm going to double check that asleep, something like that still awake, still asleep. I'm gonna double check that, something like that. But but that's what the point is and that is kind of the point is that it's forgettable, sound asleep, sound asleep, completely forgettable. And it was the B-side that was memorable. And the only reason the B-side was memorable I remember we put it on expecting wow, this is going to be great. And it was just the dumbest song at the time. One of the dumbest songs I'd ever heard.
Speaker 1:Because as a kid, just out of curiosity, after a PWP party, one of my mother's friends left a Cream Wheels of Fire album, silver one with a double album. After the party, they accidentally left it at our house and as a very inquiring kid, I decided I got to put this on and listen to it. I don't really know Cream other than in a white room with black curtains, and I'm like 11. I put this thing on. I just pick a track. I didn't like.
Speaker 1:I've always been deep cuts, so I picked this track, never heard it. It's called Press Rat at warthog. I put it honestly, it's like a ginger baker tune pressed rat at warthog and I'm like what, the? If I could curse the, what the heck? This sucks. And I've I hate to say it. I've never been a big cream fan since, but that was the other worst song. So this was the flip side of this Sound of Sleep by the Turtles. And we were talking about this. I sent the link to my brother and said remember this one, jim, always reminds me of you. Maybe you'll love it. Maybe I'm wrong, but just horrible. It's called Umbasa the Dragon. Umbasa the Dragon On the Pats Peeps 155.
Speaker 3:Umpasa go Buona. Umpasa, not afraid of devil dragon hiding in jungle. Umpasa, show you, umpasa get him. I think you never had too much experience with dragons, but I could do it. I show women in tribe. I am bravest of brave, I can do it.
Speaker 4:Umpasa go Buona, umpasa Umpasa go, umpasa go Buona, umpasa Umpasa go.
Speaker 1:That was the good part. By the way, that was the good part. Here comes the. This is the real treat Slay the dragon.
Speaker 4:Masa go to slay the dragon. Masa go to slay the dragon. He has gone to slay the dragon. He has gone to slay the dragon.
Speaker 1:Oh, it's still as bad as I remember it at 11.
Speaker 4:He has gone to slay the dragon. He has gone to slay the dragon, he has gone to slay the dragon. He has gone to slay the dragon. He has gone to slay the dragon. He has gone to slay the dragon.
Speaker 1:As bad as I remember it, as bad as I remember it Since then. I think there's one song Gosh, I shouldn't have even brought this up. I, I shouldn't have even brought this up. I know I shouldn't have even brought this up. Now, dang it. There's only one song maybe off the top of my head I'm sure there's probably many more that I can think of by an artist that I like but released one of the all-time in my opinion, suckiest songs ever, and I mean ever. All right, I got another one Now, I got to do it. I'm trapped into it since I brought it up. He's even my namesake. I mean, we have the same last name. I should say Walsh, joe Walsh, who I love. Love Joe Walsh. But he should have never, ever, released this song called the Gamma Gucci. Anyone hear this thing Off? Ordinary, I'm just an ordinary, average guy. Remember that I like that song. Pick up the dog poop, wait till it's hard. But on that same record is one of the worst songs ever To me the Gamma Gucci.
Speaker 3:I certainly do think it's about time I told you about the Gamma Gucci.
Speaker 1:Yes, Eeny meeny, Eeny meeny. What a meany. What a meany, that's a meany. That's a meany. You think this is bad? Oh, it gets way better. Here you go. Oh my God, it's so bad. Joseph Joseph, stop it. I hate this. For the same reason I hate Adam Sandler's humor.
Speaker 3:Stuff like you would do when you're like six years old.
Speaker 1:These are as bad as I recall. I'm going to stroke out. Listen to that crap. Let's see. I told you it's random today. Okay, what else do we have? Okay, here's something for you. Here is a couple of cool mashups. You know mashups where you take one band and one song and you mix it with another band and another song. Here's a good one. Here is james brown led zepp up like a sex machine.
Speaker 4:Get on up, get up, get on up, get up, get on up, get on up, get on up, get on up like a sex machine. Make a wish, Take your money. Make a wish, Take your money, make a wish. You've got a feeling, You've got to get it. You've got a fever and a cold sweat. The way I like it Is the way it is, I've got mine.
Speaker 5:Don't worry about his. Fuck, fuck. I got mine. Don't worry about his. Should I take him to the bridge? Go ahead, take him on to the bridge. Take him to the bridge. Should I take him to?
Speaker 6:the bridge. Yeah, take him to the bridge. Yeah, take him now.
Speaker 1:Send your money maker. That's very clever Money maker To me. Send your money maker, that's for me James Brown, led Zeppelin, a whole lot of Sex Machine. I even like the name, isn't that great. Wow, all right, here's another one. Here is Chicago and Black Sabbath. Plenty High or six to four Won't you listen?
Speaker 4:When I first met, you Didn't realize I can't forget you or your surprise. You introduced me To my mind and left me wanting you and your kind. City cross like a love. Love, 25 or 6 to 4.
Speaker 1:Very good here. Whoever mixed that Plenty High or 6 to 4, Chicago and Black Sabbath? That's Peeps 155. All right, let's see. Let's do another one. Here's an interesting one. Here's Puddles the Clown doing his version of Folsom Prison Blues. Well, you'll get it, You'll see what he's doing here.
Speaker 6:Ever since I was a young boy I played this silver ball From Soho down to Brighton. I must have played them all, but I ain't seen nothing like him in any amusement hall. The deaf, dumb and blind kid Sure plays a mean pinball. That's pretty cool man. What a clever mix. He stands like a statue, becomes part of the machine, puddles the clown, peeling all the bumpers, always playing clean. He plays by intuition, a never seen him fall. The deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays me in Check this out.
Speaker 1:I like what he does with this.
Speaker 6:He ain't got no distractions, don't hear no buzzers and bells, don't see no lights a-flashing. He plays by sense of smell. He always gets a replay. The digit counters fall.
Speaker 1:That's good man. I don't know, I got to give it to him. Very good ear. You know it's a good ear. It's funny. I do that in my head all the time. I'll listen to music and I'll mix in. I can mix in other songs in my mind into the song I just said. Maybe I need to learn how to do some mashups, because I think I could come up with some of these. All right, let's do something else random musically here. Before we get to the record of the day, here's an alternative version. This is the David Guetta and Morton version featuring Lainey Gardner. This is cool alternate version of the song dreams by Fleetwood Mac. See what you think of this Now here you go again.
Speaker 5:You say you want your freedom. Well, who am I to keep you down? It's only right that you still play the way you feel it. We are now at Upper Session Road and what you love and what you have, what you love. Thunder only happens when it's raining it gets a little technico technic.
Speaker 1:What do you call it? Techno for my taste right there, but then goes kind of back into the groove.
Speaker 5:I like what they did with that.
Speaker 1:I think this just gave me a great idea for a television show. Wow.
Speaker 5:I think I just got a great idea.
Speaker 1:All right, so that's David Geddon Morton it's Dreams. It's an alternate version. Let's get to the final record of the day here on Pat's Peeps 155. So, as I mentioned previously, I pulled this out. I'd never heard. I've heard the artist. Technically I would almost say, well, no, I can't say it was my. I can't say it was my first concert. I didn't pay for it. It was at a Rock Island that I saw this artist Rock Island. It was a Cal Expo in the 70s and maybe into the 80s Free concerts, 70s and maybe into the 80s free concerts and went to see this cat who, as I recall, had a.
Speaker 1:He was doing the theme song for a very popular TV show at the time and I'll give it away if you know if, as soon as I say the TV show, if you've been around a while and you know music, you know who it is. He did the theme song for Chico and the man. So those of you who know that show and know music will know exactly who I'm talking about. This is on RCA Records. It has a couple of the radio station stickers on the label on both sides RCA Records, yellow record label, strings and Brass arranged by Perry Botkin Jr. Producer Rick Gerard. So again, I don't know the rights to these, I just like to educate about them. Critique this thing's five minutes and 14 seconds long, which is pretty long for a 45,. You know for a single. It says right there, not for sale. It's stereo both sides.
Speaker 1:But I never heard this version. I know the song well. I know that CCR did it. I just know many artists that did this song, kind of a rockabilly song and co-written by American musician Dale Hawkins, released in 57. It was a commercial success, became a classic of the early rock and roll era, like I said, being recorded by many other performers in subsequent years. It's one that a lot of people just love to cover.
Speaker 1:My first time hearing it, I believe, was 1968. In fact I know that it was Creedence Clearwater Revival on the album which I would always call featuring Suzy Q. I remember that record. They're all standing behind trees in this field. I remember songs in there like Porterville 99 1⁄2, won't Do Gloomy, I'll Put a Spell on you, the Working man, all these great songs from this album. But it featured this song as well by Credence that went to like number 11 in the United States, number 10 in Canada. It was platinum. Ronnie Hawkins did it, king Curtis, the band the Stones, have done this On and on and on. The Trashmen Johnny Rivers, rivers. So the artist is Jose Feliciano, blind guitar player and singer. Sang the theme song to Chico and the man. There's a song called Susie Q, a classic. Oh, wow, whoa Dang Jose, oh.
Speaker 5:Susie Q, oh Susie Q.
Speaker 2:Mama, I dig you Susie Q.
Speaker 4:Oh, susie, q, yeah yeah.
Speaker 5:Susie Q.
Speaker 2:Oh, Susie, Q very cute baby. I love you.
Speaker 4:It's so, so cute. Yeah, wow, I love the way you talk.
Speaker 3:Oh, look out, Come on now. I love the way you walk.
Speaker 2:I love the way you talk. I love the way you talk. I love the way you talk. Hey, it's so secure.
Speaker 3:Oh yeah, can you jazz it up a little bit, Jose?
Speaker 1:Oh, so secure. All right, take two. No, that's amazing. That's a very different version. Hey guys, I'm going to jazz this up a little bit. All right, Jose, no problem, Go ahead.
Speaker 2:Wow, wow, I say that you'll be mine All of the swinging time.
Speaker 1:Did he say all the frigging time? Oh geez Dang Jose man getting off on this song. You know what?
Speaker 2:I mean oh Susie Q.
Speaker 1:Geez.
Speaker 1:I feel like I'm invading someone's privacy or something. How you doing baby, hey now. Susie Q, hey now. Oh geez, all right, jose. Jose was in a mood this day let's flip it over, I don't know if I can. Jose's having a little much. Some fun there that I don't think I should be witnessing, even through audio Forget about visual but I can tell you for sure I've never heard that. Let's flip it over. I for sure. If I haven't heard that, then I certainly haven't heard this. But I'm just going to say that I'll dedicate this to the Dodgers, okay, only because of the name of the title. I mean only because of the title, because that was kind of redundant, don't know it, but we're going to listen to it. Jose Feliciano, this one's called Destiny Pats Peeps 155.
Speaker 2:I love you, you love him. There's nothing I can do. It wasn't my destiny to fall for you. You say why don't I try to find someone new? It wasn't my destiny to fall for you and there ain't a thing I can do about it. You know I can't live without it. All I can say is hey, hey, hey.
Speaker 1:Thank you for joining me and listening to Pat's Peeps 155. Happy Friday. See you for Pat's Peeps 156. See you on the radio.
