Pat Walsh
SPEAKER_11:

Welcome back. It is the Pat's Peeps Podcast. 346. Yep, I missed yesterday. Oh well. Dang it. I missed. I had some I was inundated yesterday. Absolutely inundated. The stuff. It's my brother Tim's birthday, so I couldn't do a podcast. Happy belated birthday to my brother Tim. Although we did celebrate yesterday. Thank you for being a part of my Pat's Peeps podcast. My name is Pat Walsh. I am the host of the Pat Walsh Radio Show, KFBK News Radio, 93.1 FM, 15.30 a.m., streaming live everywhere on the free iHeart app. But today is the 9th of October, 2025. Looking out the studio window. A beautiful day, my friends. It is gorgeous. It's sunny, but the clouds are kind of rolling in. It's cooler outside. I'm loving it. Looks like we may get some uh rain even next week. So heck, um I'm just enjoying this very much. Wherever you are listening, thank you very much for listening. And please check out patspeeps.com where we are working on some really cool stuff right now. Where as we speak, we are we working on the Who Drew the Maps t-shirt and signs. And you're gonna find those this afternoon or this evening when I uh when I'm on my show. They'll be ready to go, and I'll be telling you all about the Who Drew the Maps? Of course, this stemming from last night, we were talking about this on my radio show from this interview, Julie Watts, CBS uh in Sacramento doing an interview. Uh and or there, maybe it's uh maybe it is a uh not an interview. Uh it was supposed to be an interview with a unbelievably, in my opinion, front runner. Are you kidding me? For the gubernatorial race of California, Katie Porter. This is astounding. Case some of you missed it yesterday. I'm gonna go on a rant today because I just gotta cleanse the palate. I gotta get this off of my mind. Some of this I talked about my show on my show last night, and I don't usually uh you know, I don't usually repeat anything, but I got more takes on this. So what I'd like to do is I would like to to uh talk about listen to this in case you've not heard it. This is a an interview, supposedly an interview, tried to be an interview. Julie Watts from CBS in Sacramento interviewing Porter yesterday, made national news. Here you go.

SPEAKER_03:

What do you say to the 40% of California voters who you'll need in order to win? Um, who voted for Trump?

SPEAKER_11:

How would I need them in order to win, man?

SPEAKER_03:

Well, unless you think you're gonna get sixty percent.

SPEAKER_11:

So, what you miss right there, unless you're watching it, this is when Katie decides she's gonna look at the cameraman or whoever she maybe it's her colleague, whoever's there in the studio with her, she looks right at him. God, what an absurd question by this woman to ask me something like that.

SPEAKER_03:

It's just of the vote. You think you'll get sixty percent all everybody who did not vote for Trump will vote for you. That's what you're saying.

SPEAKER_04:

In a general election? Yes. But you just said you don't need those Trump voters. Well, you asked me if I needed them to win.

SPEAKER_11:

Why?

SPEAKER_04:

You don't I feel like this is unnecessarily argumentative.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, it is unnecessarily argumentative, big beefy Katie. Give me a break. What a hard ass. Listen to her. Yeah, it doesn't have to be combatative. She's she's asked combative. She's just she's asking you a question like she did the other week. She's an investigative reporter. So what is your question?

SPEAKER_03:

The the question is the same thing I asked everybody. Right. That this is being called the empowering voters to stop Trump's power. Stop Trump said I support it.

SPEAKER_04:

So and the question is what do you say to the 40% of voters who voted for Trump? Oh, I'm happy to say that. It's the do you need them to win part that I don't understand.

SPEAKER_11:

She's happy. I uh didn't seem that happy.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm happy to answer the question. As soon as you have it written, and I'll answer it.

SPEAKER_03:

I was fooled. We've also asked the other candidates, do you think you need any of those 40% of California voters to win? And you're saying no, you don't.

SPEAKER_04:

No, I'm saying I'm gonna try to win every vote I can. Uh-huh. And what I'm saying to you is that Well, to those voters. Okay, so so you I don't want to keep doing this.

SPEAKER_11:

See, she ran out of steam right there. So now she's gonna tap out. She won't she don't want to keep doing this. My God, this is so unfair. I'm tapping. She's being mean to me. I'm gonna call it.

SPEAKER_04:

She's gonna call it You're not gonna do the interview with us. Nope, not like this, I'm not. Not with seven follow-ups to every single question you ask.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, you don't want to have you don't want to have follow-ups to the question from you know, an investigative reporter.

SPEAKER_04:

Every other candidate has answers. I don't care.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, she doesn't care.

SPEAKER_04:

I don't care. She does. I want to have a pleasant, positive conversation.

SPEAKER_11:

She doesn't care what Californians think.

SPEAKER_04:

She doesn't care. If every question you're gonna make up a follow-up question, then we're never gonna get there.

SPEAKER_11:

Get where? Get where.

SPEAKER_04:

And we're just gonna circle around.

SPEAKER_03:

You've never had to do this before, ever. You've never had to had a conversation to end an interview. Okay, but every other candidate has done this.

SPEAKER_11:

Uh what part of See right there. What part of see, she was gonna be a smart ass right there, too. But then she knew it, so she throws a curveball.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm me. I'm running for governor because I'm a leader.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, she was gonna say it, there's a curve from Porter. Doesn't want to go through that statement.

SPEAKER_03:

So I am going to make so you're not gonna answer questions to reporters? Okay, why don't we go through? I will continue to ask follow-up questions.

SPEAKER_11:

She's a leader that won't answer reporters' questions.

SPEAKER_03:

Because that's my job as a journalist, but I will go through and ask these. And if you don't want to answer, you don't want to answer.

SPEAKER_04:

So nearly every legislative I don't want to have an unhappy experience.

SPEAKER_11:

Oh no.

SPEAKER_04:

And I don't want this all on camera.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah. With your sunny disposition. Yeah, let's not let's not make this an angry, uh, unhappy experience, all right. You know what it reminds me of? Reminds me if you go back like to the early 80s, like maybe 84. Remember the Wendy's commercial with the Russian swimsuit, Russian swimsuit models? That's what she reminds me of for some reason. Katie Porter. Katie comes in out in the bulb burlap sack. That's what she reminds me of. Big beefy Katie in burlap. Not having a choice is no fun. Having a choice is better than nothing. That's right. Remember that. Uh come election time and you're voting for a governor. Remember this. Good point, Wendy's. I love that commercial. Yeah, that's that's great. You know, let's look at a couple of days ago. Same kind of thing. K C RA's Ashley Savala, who does a great job on Channel 3. She's gonna ask the two leading Democrats, including the election commission chair, about who is it? Tell us who it is that is doing the redistricting maps. I think uh Californians who are gonna be voting on this, I think they have the right to know. And and here she is, well, it didn't go that way. Keep that in mind, okay. Newsom and the Democrats promised transparency. That's the key word to think about here.

SPEAKER_13:

They struggled to answer a basic question in all of this.

SPEAKER_01:

Very basic question. Casey R3 Capital Corps wanted to ask you the ball joins us now with what she repeatedly asked today.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I mean, it really wasn't clear. Uh that I mean, that basic question is who exactly is responsible for these maps. In that special election, who can California voters look to specifically when they want to know who put these new congressional districts together? It really was not clear in any of the hearings today. Both the state Senate and Assembly elections committees had a lengthy discussion on the redistricting push overall. A reminder that this is happening is California already has an independent redistricting commission that is responsible for doing this work after the census. So we asked both the Democratic leaders of each elections committee who is responsible for drawing these new proposed congressional districts. Good luck. Who exactly is responsible for the maps? Who do we tell California voters drew these?

SPEAKER_05:

Well, so the maps have been posted on our website for 8 o'clock yesterday. The lines are very clear. Right.

SPEAKER_11:

Uh uh Who um uh this was eight o'clock last night or this morning. Who who was it?

SPEAKER_05:

Go on and observe and see what we're doing. Their adjustments. Many counties and many districts are not getting touched at all. So uh Madam Chair, I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02:

My question is who is responsible for the maps specifically? Who do we let California voters know are responsible for the maps that they are being presented with?

SPEAKER_09:

Yeah. I mean, I mean I think it was a collaboration.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, it was a collabo. Listen to the other so-called air quote democratic leader there. Yeah, it was a collaboration. It was a little collabo between some of them.

SPEAKER_05:

Specifically. Thank you. I don't have the full list right here with you.

SPEAKER_11:

Um I'm sorry, uh, I don't have the full list. Um Yeah, I'm the election commission chair. Let me look. Um you say this was eight o'clock last night, huh? Oh no, no, no. Oh, is it this morning? She'll correct that in a moment. I'm looking through. I you know, I don't have the list of uh the people who literally just did this. Uh and I know I'm the election commission chair, but I just don't have that with me.

SPEAKER_05:

We can certainly get that to you, but we'll get that to you. Are transparent, they're transparent.

SPEAKER_11:

She can't answer the question.

SPEAKER_02:

The names of the people. The names of the people, the organizations. Right. Governor Gavin Newsom promised that no special interests or this would be transparent. This would not be done in a bad thing.

SPEAKER_11:

Listener just wants to talk over her the whole time.

SPEAKER_02:

So we're trying to ascertain in the very short amount of time to deliberate this. Who exactly are the maps responsible? There's a lot happening very quickly.

SPEAKER_11:

And who are the maps? Who's responsible? Uh, there's a lot happening very quickly. I didn't ask that. I didn't ask, hey, is it going quickly? Is it's a process moving along? Is it going yeah, then that would be appropriate. She's asking, who drew the maps? And the folks that were dropped. Those t-shirts are coming out today, my friends, at PatsPeeps.com. Who drew the maps? I'll be I will tell you about them on my show tonight. We also have signs coming out. Who drew the maps? Those are limited edition up until the fourth of November.

SPEAKER_05:

Right. And so we're basing these on the Voting Rights Act, and we're looking at really bringing the voters into this process, and that's why we're going to an election on November 4th. Who drew the maps? Because at the end of the day, the voter's voice is what matters.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, uh, who drew the maps.

SPEAKER_02:

We're asking because I mean, we're asking because voters back in 2008 and 2010 took the power away from politicians to draw maps because they did not like that it was an incumbent protection plan.

SPEAKER_11:

So we now remember, we voted in California for that to not let politicians draw the maps. We voted for that. They do not care. Just listen.

SPEAKER_05:

These are definitely unusual times. We are no longer governing in a democracy.

SPEAKER_11:

Did you hear that? This is the election commission chair who just said as a response to California voters voted for this. Her response is, well, sorry, we're no longer living in a democracy. She just literally said it doesn't matter what you voted for, and we're not going to tell you who is redistricting, and then blaming the other people, Donald Trump, for being the authoritarian government. While telling us that they're going to be transparent.

SPEAKER_05:

We are seeing things that we care so deeply about in California. Right, like things that people voted for that you don't want to go through with education for children, our immigrant community, our LGBT community.

SPEAKER_11:

Can you tell us who's uh redrawn the maps?

SPEAKER_05:

They are getting decimated by this administration.

SPEAKER_11:

Decimated. No, they're not. How are LGBTQ community? How are they getting decimated by the administration? Tell us. Explain that. But see what you're doing is you're sidetracking because you don't want to answer the question at hand. They're not, they don't care about your vote, but it's an assault on California democracy by Trump.

SPEAKER_05:

We have this election on November 4th, and at the end of the day, the voters will decide what is important to please remember that. Please remember what she's saying when you're voting and whether they want to adjust these maps to give California the voice it needs in Congress.

SPEAKER_11:

Even if you're voting yes on this, how could you accept this as an answer? It's not an answer. Obviously, they're hiding something. Lobbyists.

SPEAKER_14:

Were state lawmakers involved in drawing the maps?

SPEAKER_11:

By the way, did you that's a great question? And listen to the end of this. This is pathetic.

SPEAKER_14:

But but who so then who adjusted them last night at 8 p.m.? It was my understanding that they were by 8 a.m.

SPEAKER_05:

They were out there.

SPEAKER_11:

Oh, so it wasn't 8 p.m. It was 8 a.m. Okay, so uh I still don't have that in front of me.

SPEAKER_05:

And so there was a collaboration, but we can get to the people that actually do.

SPEAKER_02:

So then why does the legislation say the detailed maps were prepared by the Assembly and State Senate Elections Committee? Right.

SPEAKER_05:

So the reality is that it was a collaboration and we can give people specifics. But I think what's most important.

SPEAKER_11:

She doesn't want to get into the specifics. Yeah, hesitate there. It says that, but she doesn't want to really address that. She doesn't want to get into the specifics, who's lying here and who isn't. Be honest with yourself. This is a lie. I mean, honestly, you no matter what side you're on in terms of political idealism, you gotta think about what she's not saying. But you can't say it.

SPEAKER_05:

To make a judgment on lines of the lines.

SPEAKER_11:

This is the best part.

SPEAKER_15:

When you consume something, when you consume something, don't you want to know who makes it? When you are presented with something, don't you want to know where it's coming from? Don't voters deserve it. When I go to a restaurant, I don't need to meet the chef. I just enjoy the food.

SPEAKER_11:

Did you hear that? You do not deserve it, California voters. Please. Because when she goes to a restaurant, she doesn't have to meet the chef. She just has to enjoy the food. Isn't that great? Yeah, that's great. Meanwhile, here is a sickening. Sickening sound bite, in my opinion. From the mayor of Seattle. His name is Bruce Harrell. The mayor of Seattle. We'll play a couple of mayors for you here. Here's Bruce Harrel who says, you know what? I really don't care what your criminal track record is. I don't care. It's not about that.

SPEAKER_01:

If somebody has offended six, seven, eight times, even if it's a minor offense, but they continue to fail to turn their life around, at what point do you balance public safety to giving this person, you know, some accountability? What is that balance?

SPEAKER_08:

So let me make something very clear. Uh I was the one that sponsored the ban the box legislation when everyone opposed it because the criminal system has had a disparate impact on black and brown communities.

SPEAKER_11:

Let me let me Right away, right away, right away. We have to go to the race card. Always the victim. Always the victim. And there he goes right to it. It's always, you know, unfair to black and brown people. Always. It gets very tiring to hear this trash, but I'll let him continue. Lead with that.

SPEAKER_08:

So when this person is committing six or seven crimes, I don't know his or her story. I don't know. Maybe they were abused as a child. Maybe they're hungry. So my my remedy is to find their life story to see how we could help first. I have no desire to put them in jail. Did you hear that? But I need to protect you. And that's the calibration that we have.

SPEAKER_11:

I put places He has he has no desire. Despite their lengthy seven, eight times arrested. Who cares? He needs to know their story. He'll sit down with each and every one of them. He'll learn their story. We'll learn their pitiful story. So we can make sure that they're a victim. He doesn't care that they've been arrested seven or eight times. They got to collaborate. I'm not collaborate, they got to calibrate that to make sure somehow they do that and somehow keep you safe.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm sorry, what did you say? What did you say? But I need to protect you. That's the calibration that we have. I put police officers on the stand.

SPEAKER_11:

He wants to protect you. So he's put police officers on the stand. I mean, again, forget about the seven or eight crimes that a criminal has committed. He's put police officers on the stand. I've cross-examined them. He's cross-examined them.

SPEAKER_08:

So whether they commit seven or eight crimes today is not the issue. The issue is why are they committing these crimes?

SPEAKER_11:

So the seven, eight crimes, that's not an issue, says the mayor of Seattle. Um, by the way, let's go to how about DeCarlos DeWan Brown Jr. who killed this Ukrainian, this beautiful woman, Irina Zaruska. How about this punk here? Because remember, the mayor doesn't care about your seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen violent crimes. Whatever. Let him walk around. This dude, Brown Jr., had a lengthy criminal record, including felony breaking and entering, armed robbery with a weapon for which he served five years in prison. He had multiple violent assault arrests. He also had a history of psychiatric issues, uh, including schizophrenia, violent behavior. He was released from prison in 2020. He was arrested for misuse of a 911 call before uh stabbing this beautiful young woman to death. His original crime spans over a decade. His first court case is back to 2007. That's how far it goes back. Convicted of armed robbery in 2014 with a dangerous weapon, served more than five years in prison, was released in 2020. Violent assaults, you bet you. He'd been arrested at least twice for violent assaults before this stabbing. Breaking and entering, convicted on felony breaking and entering charges. In a current year, he was arrested for misuse of a 911 call from a hospital, a hospital bed, and was released without bail, which is another issue. The not the bail issue. No cash bail. And by the way, yeah, oh, this is the guy who we gotta feel he's a victim, even though he murdered this girl, and then afterwards said, I got that white girl, I got that white girl. Oh, this poor victim. All right, here is let's do another mayor. This scumbag with the lowest mayoral ratings, I think, pretty much in history. Brandon Johnson of Murderous Chicago. What they had like 30-some sh murders or whatever over the last weekend. Same thing on Labor Day weekend while he's up there telling everyone how safe that city is. Here he is being questioned by William J. Kelly, a reporter. It's no wonder this guy, Brandon Johnson, has such incredibly low ratings. Listen for yourself.

SPEAKER_07:

Over the last week, I've literally interacted with over 300,000 plus. Listen to Brandon Johnson's smart ass uh uh response, real Chicagoans who say that it is hate speech for you to evoke the Civil War, to evoke bringing back the Confederacy, to uh say that law enforcement is a sickness when you yourself have over 150 sworn police officers on your detail. What do you say to these people and will you ask your 150 uh sworn police officer, uh CPD detail to stand down if you and your wife Stacy are ever attacked, shot at, or rammed with uh uh a protest or vehicle?

SPEAKER_10:

Well, first of all, I'm sorry to hear that your numbers of interactions have gone down.

SPEAKER_11:

That that's his only reply, just a smart ass reply about his interactions to to only 300,000.

SPEAKER_07:

Nothing about the murders of millions, but personally I've interacted with over three.

SPEAKER_11:

Nothing about police.

SPEAKER_07:

It went down this week. No, it's going up. Higher than yours, by the way. By the way, check out your comments. Cut check out the comments on your feed.

SPEAKER_10:

I th I think it's um it's important to be able to make sure that to the people that you're talking to, though, you're talking to less and less people every week so that they know the truth. Here's what uh here's what I've said.

SPEAKER_11:

That the and your support is dwindling day by day.

SPEAKER_10:

Addiction on jails and incarceration and the addiction of militarism.

SPEAKER_11:

Militarism, it is an evil.

SPEAKER_10:

Dr. King made that very clear.

SPEAKER_11:

He wants this guy, Brandon Johnson, called law enforcement or jail and all these other things. He called it a sickness. Law enforcement, according to Brandon Johnson, is a sickness.

SPEAKER_10:

He did.

SPEAKER_11:

And so I believe it's incumbent upon us to make sure that the real Chicagoans he wants police that he defunded. He wants Chicago police that he defunded thanks to the pressure back then, they don't have much pressure now, on Black Lives Matter. Um, he defunded the police, but now he wants the police department to go to arrest the ICE agents for doing their job. He signed a bill, he wants the uh that's uh incredible.

SPEAKER_10:

For the real people of America, right? Instead of sending billions of dollars overseas, I mean, like the Biden administration did for so many years.

SPEAKER_11:

We should be spending it on the people right here in the city of Chicago. Boy, now you say it. You didn't say that the last four years.

SPEAKER_07:

Well, the real Chicagoans that I talk to, that I communicate with, um, mostly black and brown.

SPEAKER_11:

I'll bet people who are, quote, black and brown are sick and tired of hearing this. Uh, a couple of posts yesterday, um, and they happen to be from people who were, as you want to put it, black and brown, who said they were sick and tired of hearing it. I'll tell you one right now. I'm not gonna say their name, but I'll give you an example. And this is verbatim. I'm not gonna clean it up or anything. This is what they said. All you idiots talking down on everything, I mean everything in capitals, Trump does, even when it's amazing, have real hate in your hearts. And you all need help. I guarantee you will have something negative to say, or there will be crickets. While he is about to make a huge peace deal with Hamas in Israel. And make no mistake, you uh he will get a Nobel Peace Prize for this. And you, in capital letters, you know who you are. I will have some bullshit to say. The difference between me and you is when a Democratic president gets a Nobel Peace Prize for amazing things, I had mad respect and was overjoyed for our country, SMH. Also, on another note, uh Ben Bad Bunny for Super for the Super Bowl. He sat at there. Uh I'll finish what she said. Uh that POS sat and was laughing at the Yankees game while they played God Bless the USA. I think we need a petition to start getting this weirdo out. So don't give me the old black and brown, we all feel this way, and we're all victims. Some people are sick of it. And I got more of that very same thing yesterday, Mayor.

SPEAKER_07:

Tell me that you don't seem to know the difference between illegal aliens and real Chicago citizens. Um they feel that you are siding with the illegal aliens over them in their communities. Um and sadly, let's get to the question. Let's see.

SPEAKER_11:

Now let's get to the question. Get to the question, the PR guy.

SPEAKER_07:

The real question is simply this. Uh I don't know how to make it any more direct. An illegal alien from Nicaragua grabbed a woman on the north side last week. You got a question? Listen to that smart ass. You got a question? Knocked her unconscious and raped her. If that had been your wife, Stacy, if that had been your wife, Stacy, would you want ICE to would you want ICE? They're not gonna get into it. To deport her, to to deport that illegal alien. Let's move on. Yes or no? Answer the question as a man. Not as a mayor, but as a man, would you want ICE to support that rapist?

SPEAKER_11:

And then listen to when the other guy comes in on the phone.

SPEAKER_07:

No? Okay. Mayor, whatever it is. That's the answer for real Chicago. That's right. Sorry for being late to traffic's bad.

SPEAKER_10:

You're not blaming me for the traffic, are you?

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, no kidding. He comes down with an excuse. I'm sorry. Guy kissing his butt. I'm sorry, maybe the traffic was bad. I'm sure you're not blaming me, are you? Yeah, what about the woman that was raped and beaten with her head smashed? Oh, you're not gonna address that. You know, they don't care. When they don't care about your record, they're gonna keep somehow keep you safe. It's a joke. Especially when you have people like Jay Jones. You heard about this? Jay Jones, he's gone as far as to just go ahead and threaten to murder his opponent and his opponent's family.

SPEAKER_09:

This week, Democrats are dealing with an October surprise of their own. After messages sent by a Democratic candidate for Attorney General Jay Jones surfaced. The messages sent to another lawmaker talked about shooting the Republican Speaker of the State House, Todd Gilbert. One of the messages read, Three people, two bullets, Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot. Wow. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head. Adding, put him with quote, the two worst people you know, and he receives both bullets every time. The messages were sent back in 2022 after Jones had already resigned from his seat in the House of Delegates. Oh, it's okay, Bob. They were sent back in 2022.

SPEAKER_11:

I was, you know, clear, that was so 2022. Jeez, now we're in 2025, of course. We can forget about the fact he wanted to murder his opponent and his family. Right?

SPEAKER_09:

Jones responded in a statement Friday, writing, I take full responsibility. Really?

SPEAKER_11:

Gosh, that is so noble of you, Jay Jones. You took responsibility for your words. She's I am very impressed.

SPEAKER_09:

He offered his deepest apologies to Speaker Gilbert. Well, then it's all better. And went on to say, reading back those words made me sick to my stomach. I am embarrassed, ashamed, and sorry.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, speaking of embarrassed and sorry, here is the racist views of none other than oh god, now I gotta prepare my gag reflex when I say this. Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopi Goldberg on the view with Jordan Behart. Oh god, I need a puke bucket. Here they are condoning racist activity at the Super Bowl. Because, you know, supposedly ice is gonna be there, and if your skin isn't lily white, according to them, essentially, you're gonna be harassed and probably taken away from the Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_06:

Either that or they're spreading She's going to go to the Super Bowl and round up. How's she gonna know who's who?

SPEAKER_11:

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_06:

Because the Supreme Court has given permission to question anyone who has a Spanish accent who has a listen to Joy.

SPEAKER_11:

Anyone who's got a Spanish accent. Listen to that Snide. Anyone who's got a Spanish accent.

SPEAKER_06:

Anyone who has a Spanish accent who has a dark skin. Yeah.

SPEAKER_11:

So yeah, that's what they're gonna do. Because, you know, people who are um have a Spanish accent, who are here legally, who went through all the work to do that legally, probably still have that Spanish accent. Yeah, I'm sure that's what's gonna happen. IC is gonna come in, they're gonna come into the Super Bowl, and if you speak, if you have a Spanish accent. They're gonna grab you. If you have dark skin, you're done. You're going right to jail. That's it. Oh, but it gets so much better.

SPEAKER_06:

Hey, here's the thing.

SPEAKER_11:

Here comes whoopee. Everybody. Your great advice. This is amazing.

SPEAKER_06:

Get a little cocoa butter, sit in the sun.

SPEAKER_11:

That is the first thing. And then and cocoa butter? Is that what you said? You say cocoa butter? And sit in the sun. So you want to get darker. This is the only time you can probably ever do this. Right, because Whoopi said you can. So this is the only time that you're allowed to be racist. Is when Whoopi says it's okay. Give yourself a Latin accent.

SPEAKER_06:

Whoopi, that is such a good idea.

SPEAKER_11:

And listen to Joy Behar. Oh, Whoopi, that is such a good idea. Let me kiss your rumposaurus real quick. And the crowd barely clapped.

SPEAKER_06:

You know, Whoopi, that is such a good idea.

SPEAKER_11:

That's a great idea. That's a really good idea. I'll finish up with this one. I'm glad I got all this off of my chest today. I really needed this. I get it built up in me, you know, and I need to release it uh here on Pat's Peeps 346 on a Thursday. I don't want to have to worry about this over the weekend. Here's a couple of uh, in my opinion, losers, straight up racists. Joy Reed, who lost her show, Don Lemon, who lost his show. Here they are talking about JD Vance.

SPEAKER_00:

Let's just be clear now.

SPEAKER_11:

Again, here they are talking about the vice president JD Vance.

SPEAKER_00:

I can't stand JD Vance. Let's just be clear. It's never there's nothing he could do. He could literally like rescue my cat out of a burning building, and I would still hate JD Vance.

SPEAKER_11:

There you go. She'd still hate the guy. I think I need a palette cleanser after all of that. And so I have the perfect thing. So I pulled I I actually pulled two records off. Again, two very good records. I had to make a choice. So I'm gonna go with this one today. Pull this off my rare record 45 collection shelf. I'm gonna pull it out of the sleeve. Let me see what kind of condition it's in. Um it looks in pretty darn good condition. I'm not gonna say mint on this one, but in in very good condition. Looks like it's been played. This is the first time that I've featured Philly Groove Records on Pat's Peeps. That is a cool label. It's a red label and it's got these like cool black patent leather shoes on it. Man, that's awesome, like floor shines or something. Philly Groove Records, and the P in Philly has a record, a 45 record around it, around the base of it. There are three radio station stickers on this. One just says 57 on a white sticker, one says 1970, and the other a red sticker, looks like some kind of uh, I don't know, it says 258. I love this song. This song to me represents an era of music that as uh a kid I loved it. I love people like uh the Shylights and the stylistics and that era of soul music. And this is one of those, you know, the dramatics, things like that. This is one of those bands, one of those groups from that era, the temptations. There were so many good ones. But this is from a soul group. Co-written by producer Tom Bell, lead singer William Hart, released as a single in 1969 on Philly Groove. Uh, and this was off their self-titled third album. Isn't that interesting? It's gets you get to the third album before you make it a self-titled album. Don't you usually do that on the first album? Anyhow, it's the third album. The song reached number three on the Billboard RB chart, went to number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970. Overseas, this song peaked at number 22 on a UK singles chart, uh number 81 in Australia. They won a Grammy Award for the best RB uh music vocal uh uh vocal performance, I should say, by a duo or a group for this song in 1971. And this is a um a prominent example of that Philadelphia soul style. It's a slow ballad, layered strings and horns, great harmony. Like I say, and it reminds me of uh that you know, it reminds me of elementary school, the Delphonics, didn't I blow your mind this time? Pat's Peeps, 346. Happy Thursday.

SPEAKER_12:

I give my heart and soul to you. Jesus is a two.

SPEAKER_11:

I guess I have to say I don't own this music. Just exposing it, critiquing it, giving information. Have a great Thursday, okay? Thank you for listening. Please go to Pat's Peeps, please check out our merchandise, and please, please support our local businesses. See you on the radio.
