Is Courtesy a Lost Art?

My daily frustrations with people I encounter. Do you fit this mold? 

Common Courtesy is a Two-Way interaction. Remember, nobody knows who you are, nor do they care unless they know you; 99.99% of the world does not. Why would you have an expectation that they do? It is called mutual respect for a reason. I don't know you and you don't know me. Other than that, "You must be arrogant to assume the whole world knows who you are and should care". Let me grab your crown.
