Twelve Days in June is the studio project of Schenectady, New York’s Dave Hulegaard. Self-described as a “throwback” artist, Dave is a spiritual successor to the wide array of 90s bands who shaped his youth, crafting melodic rock songs with introspective lyrics examining the often-unbalanced human experience.
In 2022, Dave released his first studio album, ‘Anhedonia,’ which chronicles a dark and tumultuous period in his life. While the album explores complex themes of anxiety, low self-esteem and sorrow, it also serves as a point of clarity and catharsis—one where he can finally attempt to make peace with his past.
Twelve Days in June’s latest album ‘Nostalgia,’ released in April 2023, is a 90’s alternative rock-charged love letter to all the bands who inspired him to make music. He considers the album an apology to his teenage self for giving up on his dream.
Dave returns in December 2023 with ‘La Luna,’ an album dedicated to the golden age of 90s alternative, while also paying respect to a now defunct, but iconic, slice of Portland, Oregon history: a mid-sized music venue named La Luna, which played host to the who’s who of 90s alternative rock royalty.
