Rooted in music. Grown like family.
The band was born from a front porch, a garden full of roses, and the kind of musical connection you don’t find every day. It all started when Caleb was next door, strumming his guitar and singing, while Keelie, Jason, and his mom were tending to roses in the yard. That simple, down-home moment led to new friendships, shared music, and eventually, a band.
Originally performing as Caleb Moses and the Guy Next Door, things shifted when Keelie—quiet and reserved in most settings—began singing a few songs during shows. Her voice, rich with a timeless tone that felt straight from the vinyl era, struck a chord with everyone who heard it. With Caleb’s expressive, soulful vocal style and Keelie’s classic country twang, their voices naturally complement each other—bringing an old-school heart with a modern edge.
Together, they formed Roses & Weeds with their drummer, blending deep roots in traditional country with their own fresh, personal style. Their sound is built on contrast and harmony—just like the name itself.
The name Roses & Weeds came to Lisa D., now the band’s manager, during a moment of reflection. She remembered that porch-side day and realized how perfectly it symbolized the group’s spirit: sometimes life is roses—bright, blooming, joyful. Sometimes it’s weeds—rough, unexpected, but still growing. Both need love, both can be beautiful, and together they tell a fuller story. The band often jokes about which of them are the “roses” and who are the “weeds,” but really, they each bring both.
Now preparing to release their first duet recorded in Nashville, Roses & Weeds is on a mission to bring back the kind of music that’s real—songs that make you feel something, tell a story, and leave a mark.
