welcome to the Dream Nation Breakfast Club, brought to you by The Journey Podcast. I'm your host, Josh Valentine, and this week we are going to be covering how to find your purpose in a world that's falling apart. So for those of you who've ever struggled with just finding your purpose in this life, there's a lot of things that you can be a part of in today's world, especially with so much going on in the world. And today's message is definitely going to be for you if you've been looking on, uh, looking to refine your purpose or looking to just get more clarity on what you are here to do. I know throughout my journey, I most certainly have, uh, you know, I've, I've struggled over the years just kind of like finding my way through life, especially in the earlier years. And, you know, it didn't really become clear to me until I hit about my. Thirties. So for those of you who are, who are young, maybe you're, you know, fresh out of high school or in college, or even navigating through your twenties or even your thirties. Um, you know, the thing about finding your purpose is, uh, sometimes I feel like you just have to go out there and, and find your way in life by experience. You have to just go out there and explore and, you know, see what's for you. Find out what are your gifts, what are your talents, what are your, what are you passionate about and how you can use those gifts, talents, and passions of yours to serve the world. So today I'm gonna be covering a lot on just finding your purpose. I know that. Many of you're gonna get a tremendous amount of value from today's session. If you guys don't mind, for those of you who are watching via YouTube, um, and by the way, we stream on multiple platforms across social media. And, uh, thank you for those of you who share, uh, the content. For those of you who engage with the content, it's definitely appreciated. Uh, we go live every single Tuesday at 7:00 AM but you could also catch the recording as well. So, however you're tuning in this morning or throughout the week, uh, welcome, welcome, especially if it's your first time. And let's jump right into it. So how to find your purpose in a world that's falling apart. Now, today's gonna be a little different when it comes to just talking about your purpose, right? Because usually when we think of purpose, we think of what we're really passionate about. We think about something that really excites us. But today we're gonna go outward. Usually like we're, we're taught about purpose by going inward, right? How do we feel about the work that we're doing? But when was the last time you thought about finding your purpose outward first? And I'm gonna explain what I mean by that. Now, most people don't lack purpose. They lack direction for their impact. Right. They lack direction for their impact. It's not always the purpose, it's just where are you focusing on leaving the greatest impact. Now, today's episode is gonna flip the idea of purpose from something internal. So instead of just finding yourself to something external, which is serving other people, okay? So it's not going to be about, well, let me just find myself first and then I'll discover my purpose. It's, no, it's gonna be what does the world need and how you can basically serve the world based off of what the world needs at this, uh, day and time. So now what if the reason you feel lost right now? Is because you're looking inward. When your purpose is outward. The world is not short on problems. It's short on people willing to take responsibility. Okay? So remember, there's tons of things that you can choose to put your focus on or direct your focus on, but uh, the biggest, the biggest thing is how are you going to choose to serve? And I'm gonna explain why. Um, a lot of people are, are struggling today when it comes to just finding meaning and purpose. And there's so many different reasons for it. I spend a lot of time as, as a humanitarian, I spend a lot of time just really researching like some of the biggest problems that the world is facing today, whether it's the planet, whether it's. People in general in this generation. And, and sometimes it's systemic, it's it's problems within the system. Um, but I'm always looking for different ways that I can serve the world. And one of the things that, you know, I've been learning a lot more and more about is just how people are going to have to navigate in a world of ai in a world where many jobs are going to be replaced. A lot of people who used to derive their sense of meaning from their work are gonna be stripped of that. Like, you're gonna see a lot of people in the near future who are just, you know, just going through challenges, especially with like social media and relative deprivation, where people are just comparing themselves to other people. You are gonna find more and more that a lot of people are dealing with mental health issues and things like that. So it's a big reason why I'm really passionate about my work specifically because, um, there's just so many people that need help navigating through. Finding their way, finding a sense of purpose, finding a sense of meaning in the world, right? Just learning how to navigate through mental health challenges and so much more, right? And typically a lot of mental health issues. Um, not only is it, is it physical, but many times it's just lack of fulfillment, lack of connection, right? You're disconnected from the world. And, um, I'm gonna be jumping into a lot of that today, so make sure you guys are taking notes. If you don't mind, drop a light, comment, share, subscribe if you're on the YouTube channel, and thank you so much for those of you once again, you know, who participate by engaging with the content. And if you don't mind, also let us know where in the world you are tuning in from. Drop a comment, let us know what city you're tuning in from. If you're watching the replay, drop in R for replay and let's get into it. Now, this episode, right, is going to be about finding purpose through contribu. It's a big, big part of it. And if there's anything that has made my life a lot more meaningful and made my life a lot more vibrant has been definitely just contributing. Contributing however I can over the years. And, uh, there's so many ways that you can contribute in today's day and age. You see most mo, not most, but all people. We have fundamental, primal needs as human beings, needs of the flesh needs that, that we need as human beings to just navigate through life. And those predominant needs are the need for, for example, certainty and security. We wanna feel certain, we wanna make sure that we have food, shelter, all of that. We also have a need for variety and uncertainty, because if life was just all the same, we'd be bored out of our minds. Then we have the need for a. Uh, significance, right? We all wanna feel significant. We want to feel like our lives matter, but we wanna feel unique. We wanna feel special, all of that stuff. And there's nothing that you should be ashamed of. It's just, it's embedded in our, in our DNA, like we we're wired for significance. And also we have the need for loving connection. Now, these first four needs are the primal needs. They're the needs of the flesh. They're things that we need as human beings, but then you also have the needs of the soul. And the needs of the soul are a little different, right? Because the needs of the flesh typically are, uh, just things that, that. Are, are essentially just kind of your survival mechanism, right? You need certainty and security because your, your, your brain, your body is always fighting to keep itself alive, right? It's not necessarily wired for happiness, it's wired for survival. So that's why these need needs are foundational. You have to take care of these needs, but then you have the needs of the soul. And if you truly wanna be happy, you wanna be fulfilled. You have to cater to the needs of the soul. And those needs are growth and contribution. So you growing yourself. And ultimately, the more you grow, the more you can give. And that's what it's all about. If you truly want happiness in your life, if you want fulfillment in your life, you have to dedicate yourself to growing yourself as an individual, unlocking your potential. And, and. Just all of your capabilities and, and what you're here, uh, to do and, and being the very best version of yourself, but ultimately you're doing it so that you can have a lot more to give, right? You can't feel from an empty cup, so. How, how much can you grow in your life? And this is a big reason why I'm so passionate about personal development because I believe that if you're truly gonna make the biggest impact in this lifetime, it starts with you. It starts with with you growing yourself, you growing your capacity for what you can be responsible for. And if there's anything I know about personal development, it most certainly helps you not only heal, but also transform, right? It'll, it'll change your perspective on life. And, and the biggest thing is to really grow yourself with the intention of giving back to the world of serving more. So let's jump into, uh, this next segment, which is why so many people feel purposeless. So why do people feel purposeless in the first place? If you guys don't mind? If you've ever had a, a, a season of your life or a chapter of your life where you felt like you were lacking purpose, drop a one in the comments if, if you can relate to that. I remember in my early twenties, I, I, I remember when I first started on my entrepreneurial journey and I was like miserable for, for, um, different, different seasons of it because, um, I felt like my, my purpose wasn't really refined. I felt like I was, I had a great business, but when the business wasn't successful and I was just kind of focused on the significance, and this is a big, big takeaway because sometimes we focus so much on the significance and feeling special because we want validation. We wanna feel like we're enough. And when I felt deprived of that, I, I felt like I was struggling with my purpose and I was looking for. For like inwardly in a sense, as opposed to how can I genuinely serve people? And I noticed that when I felt the most fulfilled, whenever I felt the most alive, it usually came when I was serving other people, when I was mentoring, when I was coaching people. And that's a big reason why I still do this till this day because in, in, in my life, the most fulfilling aspect of it has been dedicating myself to helping other people on their journey. And if you've never lived like this, I definitely would encourage you to, because, um, sometimes we get so caught up in just success. We wanna feel validated, we wanna feel special, we wanna feel like we're important and there's nothing wrong with that. But the, the, the thing you have to understand is that's not ultimately what leads to the fulfillment. What leads to the fulfillment is being all that you can be growing yourself. Right, because universal law states that if you're not growing, you're dying. You're either in a state of growth or you're in a state of decay. There's no in-between, right? So whenever you're in a funk or you find yourself kind of depressed, take some time to reflect and ask yourself, am I really growing in this season of my life? Have I really been growing intellectually, mentally, spiritually, right? Or am I in a state of decay? Have I been growing maybe with your career or whatever? But it's, it's also, again, it's not, it's not growing you just for the sake of all that you can gain. It's not self-fulfilling in a sense where it's all about you. The moment you say, okay, I'm growing myself so that I have more to give and turn outwardly and look at how you can serve other people, that's where the greatest joy lies. And it, it's, it's been a big driving force in my life because. Even with the Dream Nation Breakfast Club, I was doing this every single day, 10 years ago, uh, Monday through Saturday, we would have these breakfast club sessions and they were in person. This was before Zoom, this was before pre pandemic, all of that stuff. I was gathering together with our community every single day from seven to 9:00 AM at, at a coffee shop or a food court in The Bahamas. And that's how we started this journey. And it was, it was, I don't wanna say easy, but it, it wasn't daunting for me getting up, even though I didn't even have a job to get up to. I was self-employed, had no reason to be up early in the morning. But what fueled me was the fulfillment of contribution. The fulfillment of just serving other people. And I, I think it was Gandhi who once said that you wanna lose yourself in the, in the service of other people. If you are lacking fulfillment, if you are lacking purpose, start with service. It doesn't matter what it looks like. There's so many problems in the world today, so many different challenges, so many different people who are struggling with different things. And you can be the person to help them navigate through that. Okay, so let's get into why so many people feel purposeless now. First thing is over consumption versus creation. Over consumption versus creation. I wanna tell you something that maybe, you know, maybe you don't. In the world of AI and in the world of interest media, because we're no longer in social media, a lot of people don't realize what's going on in the world of media marketing, social media. What was once considered social media is now becoming interest media. What do I mean? Well, think about this. About eight years ago, nine years ago, 10 years ago, even just five years ago, when you hopped on social media, it was usually just to catch up and, and see what was going on with friends and family. Would you guys agree? Friends and family, what they, with what they were up to? Now, think about your following. If you have, let's say the average person has over a hundred followers or friends on social media. How many of your friends and family's social media do you actually see every single day? What percentage of them? Think about that for a second. Let it breathe for a few moments. How many, what percentage of your family, your friends, do you actually see what's going on in their lives? That's how you, you know, that it's no longer social media and it's more so interest media. Most of the content you consume today is not necessarily coming from family and friends. It's either AI generated content or it's just content that you're interested in. The algorithm is feeding you content that you're genuinely interested in because we are in the attention economy. Everyone is fighting for your attention. So what's going to happen in the future is there's essentially, and this is my prediction based off of a lot of research, there's not going to be much of a much middle class. Like the middle class has become eradicated over the last several years and in this generation, and you're seeing more and more wealth disparity. So it's the haves versus the have nots and the future is going to be creators and consumers. It's gonna be creators and consumers. You're either going to actively be a part of the creator economy, where you're the one creating content, you are the one putting out the content, or you're gonna be the one consuming the content. And there's a lot of predictions that, um, as AI starts replacing entire careers, right? Some people predict that there'll be new careers come that come about, but there's also a lot of predictions that many jobs will be replaced and people are going to be struggling for, for just meaning and purpose and, and also wealth. Just financial literacy is, is going to be, uh, something that a lot of people have to learn on their journey. Because what if we go into a world, let's just say, where millions and millions of people are just living off of uni, universal basic income where because there's such a shortage of jobs now you're, you're, you're having to live off the government per se. And a lot of people already live like that. But think about that. There are so many people that when, when their jobs are replaced by AI and new jobs aren't being created fast enough. Right? I just found out the other day, um, online that in the first time in our history, there is more unemployment with college grads than there are with high school grads. Think about how crazy that is. So many people graduating from college, but there's no not enough jobs to pretty much support them. Right. So a lot of people are gonna be struggling with, meaning a lot of people are just going to jump on social media just for entertainment, just to consume content, right? But there is a lot of opportunity if you decide to get on the side of being a creator, being someone, and when I say creator, I'm not just talking content creator, I'm talking to the entrepreneurs. I'm talking to the, the, the, the dreamers. The doers, the people who are out there actively building their lives. They're not just looking to work to build other people's dreams, right? They're actively building their dreams. Those are the people that I'm talking about, right? So you're gonna have to choose which side of the pendulum you're gonna fall on in, in the, in the future, right? Another thing is comfort culture, right? In, in this world of comfort culture or we have a microwave mentality. Everybody wants everything right now, and everything is, is, you know, if you look at how even young men are being bred today, and, and when I say being bred, I mean like how they're being molded in today's day and age. It, they're not this next, this generation is not as tough as the generations before. I mean, I could tell you firsthand, um, you know, as part of my mission in this generation is to help the next generation of young men, especially, uh, for those who wanna start families, how are you going to lead a family, right? If you don't have that, that mental and emotional fortitude, and we are in a comfort culture. A lot of kids are becoming softer in a sense, and it's not necessarily a good thing. I believe in, of course, being more in tune with your emotions and all of that stuff. But we also need a generation of tough men, young men who are resilient, who are persistent, and also young women who are persistent. And this is a big, big part of it, but we are in a comfort culture and because we're in a comfort culture, there's no urgency to serve. And I wanna make something very clear here. I don't know how many of you follow like what's going on in the world, but our planet, our planet, mother Earth, is in a state of decay. Whenever you see news of wildfires and a lot of these natural disasters, a lot of it is is due to climate change. A lot of it is due to humanity destroying our planet. Our planet is dying. And it's not to say that we can't reverse it because if you, you know, study what's been going on in the world, and I'm very passionate about helping the planet, helping the animals, helping nature, and we've, we've proven as a society that we can reverse this. We, we did it with the ozone layer back, you know, many years ago when the ozone layer was being depleted. We, we got together as humanity and collectively got together to solve the problem, and the ozone layer started to heal itself. And the thing about it is like our oceans. Our suffering, our, our, you know, our animals are suffering like we've wiped out like the majority of our species. Um, you know, and it, it's, it's important to understand what's going on because you can try and, and build wealth and, and create a life for yourself and make it all about success and, and, and, and your life. But think about it, what's the point of creating a successful life if your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren, will not even inherit an earth to be able to enjoy? What's the point of all of this? If it's just about our lifetime and if we don't do something about it, if we don't rally together and, and actually get involved, our grandchildren will not inherit a beautiful planet. And I think about this all the time because many of you know, especially those of you who follow me on social media, you follow the world Traveler brand. And I, I've been in the travel industry for a very long time. My entire entrepreneurial career, the very foundation of it has been built from the travel industry and I've helped. Thousands and thousands of people travel all around the world over the years. But the thing about it, if I'm really being real with myself, one of the biggest contributors to emissions in this, on this planet, and some of the issues with climate change is international travel. People flying in the air, right? Contributes to polluting the planet. And you know, over the years, I've, I've done a lot of volun volunteerism trips. I've done a lot of, uh, you know, charity work over the years. And, and, you know, I'm, I'm always mindful of the fact that as much as I love to travel, if we don't rally together as, as mankind and, and help save our planet, our grandchildren will not have the luxury of being able to travel around the world and enjoy this beautiful planet, right? So there's so many ways you can serve, but there has to be urgency. That's the biggest takeaway. It's like, just as much as we need urgency to save our planet, we need, we need an urgency to just serve people. There are also a lot of people struggling like every minute of the day, there are people out there who are taking their lives because they've just, they, they've given up, they've lost hope. Right? Think about how many men, over 80% of suicides are coming from men. Men that are struggling with their purpose, struggling financially, right? Just don't know what to do. They don't, they don't have a sense of many times, uh, uh, connected with their spirituality. They're disconnected from the planet, and, and we're so caught up on social media that, that we forget, like we come from this earth. We have a moral obligation to, to take care of it. Like the, the earth is our mother, I don't know if you realize this or if you've ever looked at it in this way, but everything that your body is, comes from the. Like, so, but, but how many of us are actually connected and in tune with nature, right? Are in tune with our spirituality? Because the reality is you have a body, but you also have a soul. And, and how many people are genuinely connected, are tapped into their spirituality, tapped into nature. And when you live like this, you, you'll feel so much more connected. You know? And part of my work as a holistic life coach is giving you an understanding of how your life intertwines with not only the planet, but also just humanity in general, right? And when, when there are people out there who are, who are suffering, who are starving, who are, you know, there's wars out there, we all have a responsibility to do our part, whatever that looks like, whether it's giving back financially, giving back your time. Right, giving back your expertise, but what can you do to be a part of this mission? To save the world, save the people. Okay. Another reason why so many people feel purposeless is social media comparison and social media comparison leads to identity confusion. I don't know about you. I, I've, I've fallen guilty of this and sometimes I gotta catch myself because we, we get so caught up at looking at the highlight reel of other people not realizing that those people are just posting like the good aspects of their life. You don't really know what's going on behind the scenes. Do you know how many Breakfast club sessions that I've showed up to where no matter what was going on in my life, I still had to show up with a smile on my face? Like everything was all good. So that I can be of service to you all. Like people genuinely are living lives of quiet desperation. People are out there suffering in silence. Usually the ones that you consider the strong ones, those are typically the ones that need the most hope help and the most hope because the, the people who are the strongest, what happens is people tend to not really check on us because they think that we have our shit all figured, figured out. And that couldn't be further from the truth. Usually people who are the strongest are the ones. They're trying to carry the world in their shoulders and be there for other people, but like there aren't that many people to check on the strong ones. Right? And, and, and the reason why I even mentioned this is because, you know, there, there's so many people out there just you checking in, you genuinely checking in on someone can go a long way. That may be the very thing that helps that person get through that season of their life or helps them get through the day or help help them change their mind about even taking their own life. There's so many people out there on their, on their last hope, right? And you can be the answer to someone's prayers. So what you know, social media, comparison, identity, confusion, all of this stuff ties into why so many people are feeling purposeless. And lastly is purpose framed as passion instead of responsibility. This is a big one, especially for the younger generation. There's so many of, of our young people that are just looking for what they're passionate about. Being passionate is cool. Like it's beautiful to be able to be passionate about what you do. Like I'm very passionate about coaching and teaching and mentoring and all this stuff. However, if you haven't found your passion, if you're still looking for something you can be genuinely passionate about. Just find something that you can be responsible for. Find something that, that you can serve, someone that you can serve, a community that you can serve, get involved, get involved. And there's so many ways you can do it. It could be your local nonprofit, it can be your church, it can be whatever community you're a part of. There's so many nonprofits and and charitable organizations out there that you can be a part of. But just find a way. Maybe you just go out and, and serve the homeless, right? But that's the biggest thing, is taking responsibility, especially for you young men. You gotta understand that as men, we're wired, we're wired to take on responsibility and care for other people. You think about it, when does a boy become a man? A boy is a male that can take care of himself, possibly, maybe not right? But you truly become a man. A boy becomes a man when he can genuinely take care of other people. That's my definition of what makes a a, a boy a man. When you can get to a place where not only are you taking care of yourself, but you're taking care of other people, and we're hardwired for that. As, as men, we're wired to want to feel like the hero. We want to feel like, like we're the provider and the protector. So if, if you don't have any children, if you don't have anyone that you, you're currently responsible for, find people. There's tons of people that need your help. Okay? So remember, this purpose isn't found. It's built through service. It's built through service. You don't always have to go within and see whatever makes your, your, your heart sing. Sometimes it's just going out there and very practically just finding people who need help. And I'm telling you, you'll feel amazing. You'll feel amazing. There's a rush of oxytocin. The love chemical. Oxytocin will flood your body and brain whenever you get to a place where you're, you're actively helping people, and I'm sure many of you can probably relate to that. Have you ever like, helped someone do something small? Even for us men? Sometimes with us men, like it could be helping a grandma cross the street, you know what I mean? It could be helping a, a, a woman with her groceries or, or, or something like. We get so much significant from opening up a jar, like something as simple as opening up a jar for someone who can't open up a jar brings us a sense of fulfillment. It's the little things. Service is the way. If, if you're struggling, ask yourself again. If, if it's you feeling like you're in a funk or you feeling a sense of just lack of purpose or whatever, maybe you're, you just haven't been happy in a while. Have you been serving in a while? Have you been growing yourself in a while? And when I say growing yourself, it's like, what are you learning? What? What skills are you developing? That's the beautiful thing about the Breakfast Club is we gather together every single week as a community and you have an opportunity to just grow yourself, right? And when you work on your mindset, you work on your skills, you work on your expertise, now you have more value to give back to the world. But that's what it's all about. Now the next segment is on some of humanity's greatest challenges. Right now. So I kind of highlighted a few, and I wanna go a little bit deeper, right? So I wanna, I wanna go into it where, um, it's not overwhelming, but it's just genuinely real. Like this is the real deal. Holy field. I was watching a Netflix series on just what's been going on in our planet, and honestly, it's a, it's a big reason why I put together today's specific session. Uh, I, I wanted to just kind of highlight some of the biggest things that are going on in the world, because I feel like. A lot of people just aren't aware, right? We hear of things like the war and stuff like that, but there's, there's bigger issues that we also have, like, you know, we can, we can rally behind the war, which is important and, and standing up for injustice and all of that. But there's some, right now challenges going on where, you know, it's, it's starvation, it's people on the brink of suicide. It's, it's people out there that are, that are struggling, people who don't have access to healthcare. So many different things, right? And one of those things is the mental health crisis that we're currently in. A generation of people who are living in anxiety, who are living with depression, loneliness at an all time high. Think about that as, as much as we have all of this technology and so many tools to be connected as a generation, loneliness is at an all time high. You could never replace high touch with high tech. It'll never happen. It's not the same. We need human to human interaction, and that's another reason why I'm so just, uh, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm such a proponent for the types of businesses that I'm in, because a lot of my businesses are centered around not only personal development, but bringing people together as a community through travel, through lifestyle experiences and, and events that we have. Right? Bringing people together because so many people are isolated, and that's another thing. If you've been feeling a little depressed, if you've been just going through it with your mental health, get connected. How connected have you been? Sometimes all it really takes is just one phone call with someone that you're connected with, that'll change your whole mood. I've had so many times where I just reach out to a family member, reach out to a friend, and you don't even always have to talk about what you're going through. Just check in on them and it feels so good. Okay. So a lot of people are lacking direction. They're lacking connection, and they're lacking meaning, direction, connection and meaning. And that's why a lot of my life's work, again, is centered around this. I had to come to grips with myself and say, you know, genuinely asked myself because for many years it was all about just me and traveling around the world and having this incredible lifestyle and, and, and really wanting to inspire people, right? But there's, there's deeper issues. People sometimes just don't need to be inspired. They need to be shown the way they need direction. They need help with just growing themselves. Right? They need more connection, more meaning. Right. And this is why there's, there's such a huge opportunity in the marketplace for the coaches, for the creators, for the community builders. So much, and, and you guys probably hear me mention this on every single Breakfast Club session. I'm always talking about, you know, just for those of you who are out there and, and you're looking to become a coach, to become a speaker, to become a podcaster and do similar work to what it is that I do, you know, I take a lot of pride in helping the next generation of people who, who are passionate about this, right? Who want to build a career and a life around this because it is meaningful, right? But who's leading the next generation of people? Into getting into this space. So that's why, you know, I made it a lifelong mission to, to help so many people, um, in this day and day. And I find myself now being the coach of the coaches, being the mentor of the mentors, people who are out there who need the, the guidance. Right. And they're looking for people who've who've done it, people who've gone through this process, right? I, I feel compelled to also lead the next generation of, of fathers, the next generation of young men who are wanting to build a family, but they just need the guidance, right? So there's, there's so much opportunity and maybe you have a lot of life experience. Maybe you've dedicated your career. On, on something, and you have a specific expertise. You have, you have a mission, something that, that you, you, you desperately want to add value with, but you just don't know how. And, and that's why these calls and, and, uh, these, these podcast episodes and just getting out there and, and getting plugged in, get plugged into the people who are making a difference in the world and seeing what they're doing and learn, you know, from them. A lot of my journey has been just learning from a lot of different mentors. I've, I've stood on the shoulders of giants that came before me, and I've consumed the content over the years. I've read the books, have gone to the seminars, listening to the audios, but there comes a point in time where you have to do something about it, right? You actually have to get involved. You have to put that knowledge into practice because knowledge is in power. It's the application of knowledge that's power. How good is that knowledge or what, what, what value does it really have if you're not getting out there and actually putting it into practice if you're not getting out there and passing it on? Okay. Another, uh, crisis that we're in or some, one of, one of humanity's greatest challenges outside of just mental health literally is economic stress. I mean, how many of us can relate to economic stress? There's so many. I mean, this is probably, you know, I always say that the number one demand in the world is probably the, the, the, the demand to make more money, right? And this is another reason why many of my business models are centered around helping people earn extra income, whether it's with a side hustle or a side business, or just helping them build their careers. I've taught a lot of people over the years on financial literacy. Many of you know. And my wife, she's also a wealth strategist. Like we dedicate our lives to helping people in these areas because we know that this is where a lot of people struggle. And here's the thing, a lot of people just genuinely don't know where to start, right? So many people living pay paycheck to paycheck. I know I've been there, I know what that's like, and I know the pain, the weight that that comes with, right? And a lot of it, many times is due to lack of financial education. Sometimes it's lack of discipline. Our emotions are in the driver's seat, and we're just blowing through money to fill a void, and then we end up feeling even worse. Right. So there's, there's a, a huge opportunity. Some of you are really good with money, some of you are really good at budgeting and all this different stuff, but there's so much opportunity for financial educators, entrepreneurs, mentors, right? And, and, and that's the thing. Although we have so many unprecedented challenges and issues that, that we're currently facing, that also means that there's a lot of opportunity. Don't ever think that there's a shortage in the marketplace of opportunity. Even with ai, even with all of these jobs being eradicated in our generation, there's always going to be new opportunity that presents itself. Another challenge that we're faced today, uh, faced with today, is digital addiction and lack of focus. This is a big one. I, I, I know that brain rot is like a common phrase that that's spoken about with the younger generation. My kids talk about it all the time and, and usually like kids, they, they kind of go through brain rot when they're just there doom scrolling, right? They're watching YouTube shorts or just videos that don't make any sense. And we've had to really set some healthy boundaries for our children because if you leave it to them, they'd be on their games all day. I mean, they won't go outside. They'll literally be glued to their screens all day. And again, that is going to lead to a generation of young people becoming just consumers instead of creators. So, so you need to have some kind of a, a, a balance in the world because, I mean, could you imagine. That you, you have your kids who are, you know, playing video games, watching screens all day, and now they get older and they're, they're just more so consumers than creators. Could you imagine ha having a generation of young children, young people who are going out there and they don't have essential skills to pretty much help us, right? Because as, as elderly people, we will need to rely on the next generation. Okay? So digital addiction, I mean, is leading to so much depression as well, right? There's, there's shorter attention spans these days, and because of the shorter attention spans, it's harder for these young people to really focus in on building their dreams, on building a business, right? Creating opportunity. Now, there are a lot of exceptional young people. I have seen that as well, but there's just a huge gap in the middle. That's the big, the big challenge, a huge gap in the middle. Now, constant distraction, uh, is always going to equal low productivity. If you're just caught up doom scrolling all day, you're gonna have less and less time to actually build your dreams. And this is like an ongoing and downward spiral, if you will. Now there's an opportunity for even people, uh, to help with, with productivity. So a lot of my work is specializing in peak performance. Typically, my clients, people that I'm coaching one-on-one or group coaching, they're people who need help with focus. They need help with their productivity, right? You can have, uh, you can be a content creator that's creating content around things like this. You can be an educator. There's so many different things that you can teach on, um, especially as it pertains to this. You can be a therapist. You can be a counselor. There's gonna be a huge spike in, in therapists in this next generation of coaches in this next generation, simply because there's gonna be a huge spike in people struggling with their mental health. Okay? Um, and that's why I'm such a proponent for just life coaching coaches in general, people who are consultants, people who can get paid for their minds and their expertise because there's a, a generation coming behind us that will need help in these areas. Now, another common challenge that, that we're faced with today is lack of community and connection. People feeling alone despite being connected. There's gonna be a huge opportunity to curate events. And, and many of you know, I put together trips every single year for the, for our communities. Uh, we do tons of seminars and conferences all around the world every single year. Um, there's gonna be tons of opportunity to be a community leader, podcast host, all of that stuff. Like, so again, find out what the world needs, find out things that you're good at, what comes natural to you, things that you're passionate about, and, and maybe you haven't even found that, but you know that there's a, a, a, a group of people that you can serve and just start there. If you start there, you'll find your way. Another thing that the world is faced with is our health crisis. Think about it as more and more people kind of work virtual, more and more people are home just glued to their screens. It's, it's taking a, a toll on so many people's health, especially with stress. So when stress is high. Your immune system is compromised because you have high cortisol levels. It shuts down your immune system and your body's ability to fight off this ease. So this is a big one, right? So there's tons of people struggling with their diets, which is lack of movement burnout, and that's why there's a whole generation of people who are now becoming fitness coaches. They're becoming wellness advocates. And that can be part of your work as well. It's a, it's a big area that I coach on as well as a holistic life coach. And oftentimes I'm brought on television to speak on these specific topics. So again, you can build an entire career around some of these great challenges. Now, lastly is loss of meaning and identity. So people just genuinely don't know who they are or what they stand for, and I'm telling you right now. Uh, for those of you who've ever considered just becoming a public speaker, there's such an opportunity for this because think about it, over 90% of the population are freaked out by speaking like it's the number one fear in the world. It, it actually is more fear than death itself. People absolutely despise just having to do public speaking, however. That means for those of you who are willing to embark on that journey, there's a huge opportunity. It's, it's one of the highest paying skills in the world. Okay? So there's opportunity to be not only a speaker, but a, a thought leader, mentors. So many different ways that you can add value in this area. Okay? So work on your public speaking skills if you've ever felt called to do it. Um, I coach people on that as well. And by the way, before I jump into the next segment, for those of you who feel called. To serve the world, to be a part of this great mission, to help not only our planet, to help the people, this next generation of people you feel compelled. We need, we need more people like us. We need people who are passionate about personal development, people who are passionate about coaching and mentoring and teaching. And if you need the guidance, you need the playbook. You need direction. DM me the word coach. Um, I'll send you over my Calendly link. Hop on a call with me. I've helped so many people, I mean countless people over the years in this specific area. I've dedicated my entire life to this, and I wanna help you too, right? Maybe it's just a call, just to ask questions and I can answer those questions, right? But this is my gift to you, to our community, because I know that I'm going to have to pass the baton to a lot more people. I can't do this all myself. We need to multiply. The, the, the light around the world. We need to multiply this information around the world and we can't do it as individuals. However, if we're collectively being a part of this mission to help so many people out there who are challenged with mental health, who are challenged with physical health, who are challenged with being disconnected from their spirituality, all of that stuff, we need more of you being a part of this crusade to just genuinely, again, not only help the people, but the more we raise the consciousness on this planet, the more people we have who are like, you know what? We also need to help this planet. This planet is dying. And, and, you know, I cannot do this myself. And there's so many people out there fighting in the world, but they need help too, right? So don't just come onto the Breakfast Club to be a consumer. Don't just come on every single week hopping onto the podcast. To just consume content and get some goosebumps from time to time. No, be a part of the cause. Get involved because you may get the temporary dopamine hit from hopping on these sessions. But when I tell you, if you want it to sustain itself, if you want true joy and fulfillment, get in the game. Don't just be a spectator watching from the bleachers. Get on the field, be a part of the game. And I can tell you right now, that's where your greatest joy lies, is in the service of other people. Now moving forward, how to find your purpose, I'm gonna share with you a few different ways. Here's a really cool purpose formula. Take notes. By the way, if you haven't been taking notes, take notes because as I mentioned all the time, I know it's like probably beating on a dead horse by now, but uh, the weakest ink is stronger than the strongest memory. A lot of this stuff is gonna go in one ear and go right out the other. However, if you take notes, there are so many studies that show that you're. Drastically more likely to retain this information. Okay, maybe you just take notes for the sake of, you know, like, you know what, one day you might do a workshop. One day you might get together with your community and need something or some topic to talk about. And you've got great content from today's session. Now, here's the purpose formula. Purpose equals your gifts multiplied by problems you care about, multiplied by people you want to help. Okay, so here we go again. Your gifts, times, problems you care about, times people you want to help. So I'll just kind of share how it pertains to my work, right? So my gift, my purpose is equals my gift to speak, my gift to coach and mentor, and articulate myself. Some, some of you may look at it as a gift. Some of you may look at it as a talent. Some of you may look at it as a skill that you just have to develop, right? But what, what is your gift and problems you care about? So one of the things that I'm very passionate about is just helping people grow themselves. I'm very, very, I'm passionate about that. I, I believe that most people on the planet just die with, with unrealized potential. There's so much potential. I remember hearing Miles Monroe one say that the, the, the most abundant place in the world are at the cemeteries. It's, it's at the cemeteries with people who died with so much potential, but I'm very powerful. But also helping them transform. And I believe that the more we heal, the more problem that I care about, multiplied by the people I want to help. So I, I personally dedicated my life to dedicating myself to the dreamers, the doers, the people who do not wanna just conform to the status quo. There's a generation of people that just need some guidance. They just need some help. They need, they need coaching, they need mentorship. And, you know, that's, that's my tribe. For those of you who are passionate about not only personal development, but just passionate about living life on your terms, passionate about creating freedom in your life. You are the people that I made a commitment to serve, right? So that's how you find your purpose. And for me, again, it was my gift of speaking, multiplied by the problems that I care about in the world. A lot of my humanitarian endeavors, whether it's building schools in third world countries, going to places, teaching children on nutrition and health and all of that stuff. Right. I, I, I just dedicating my life to people that I choose to serve. And I love working with entrepreneurs because the reality of entrepreneurship is that it's very, very challenging. It is one of the most challenging endeavors that you'll ever embark on. Marriage is up there as well, but entrepreneurship is, is no joke. It is, it is very, and I don't wanna use the word difficult and kind of speak that into existence for you, but I mean, for me, it's been very challenging for the vast majority of successful entrepreneurs. They've gone through so many obstacles, so many challenges. And that's why it's important to grow yourself. Because if you want a genuine shot. At building the life of your dreams, you have to develop yourself if you wanna serve the many, because service to the many leads, to greatness. If you wanna serve the many, you have to grow yourself. Okay, so number one, when it comes to your gifts, right? Think about this. What comes naturally to you? What comes naturally to you? For me, I can talk for hours upon hours, upon hours. I don't, I don't like on the Breakfast club, I have notes so that it can be structured. However, I do not need, like when I speak at events, I don't need notes. When I'm on podcasts, I'm not there with my little hand cards just reading the next question. Like, I'm one of those people that I'm like on the fly, I, I can talk for hours and hours and hours and never run outta things to say, right? So that just comes naturally to me. However, you have a gift that also comes natural to you. And what is it? Another way to find your gift is what have you overcome? What have you overcome? Many times when I'm, uh, giving motivational talks around the world, I'm, I'm talking to a lot of people that have gone through essentially, or, or are in that season of going through what I went through. So when I think about some of the things that I overcame, growing up in the ghetto was definitely one of them. Even as a kid, when I was growing up in Puerto Rico, I was just talking to my brother about this.'cause I lived in Puerto Rico with my siblings for a season. Um, as a child, I went to school out there, um, as a young child. And the reality is, I, I grew up poor. Like it was when I, and when I say poor, I mean like my grandmother was taking care of us. My parents, you know, my, I didn't grow up with my biological father, um, but my mom was going through a lot of challenges in her life, and she needed my grandmother to kind of help take care of us. So we had moved to Puerto Rico for a season and, you know, I, I grew up poor. My grandmother didn't have a job. We, we literally would grow our food. We would eat the food that we grew in our backyard, right? We would bathe out of a pipe that did not have warm water. Like we had to take cold baths. Our television had one channel. And I would watch like Felix the Cat before going to school in the morning, and it was super static. I could still remember it. And if I'm not mistaken, the TV was like black and white. It wasn't even a color tv. And, and that's how we grew up right now, this is not to downplay. I mean, there was, there's way more poverty. My brother kind of said. He was like, yeah, we were poor, but you know, it wasn't like we didn't live in a wooden shack right there. I don't ever wanna take away from that level of poverty because we did have a concrete home, thankfully, but there was no air conditioning, none of that stuff, you know, and I, I remember that and what that was like. Right. And I, I overcame a lot of that, uh, over overcame a lot of gang violence, drug abuse, and all of these different things that I was exposed to, right? Growing up as a kid. And, and then when I got into the world of entrepreneurship, or even just with my career, I, I, I knew what it was like to overcome the struggles of just being fearful, right? Some of you work jobs, you have careers, you have nine to fives, and maybe you're like. Like myself, I, I had a six figure career coming out of college. Right. And even getting into college was a challenge. No one in my family had went off and, and taken the college route, right? So I was the first person in my family to just say like, okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna pursue a college education. But I had no help. Like, I, I, I ran a barbershop out of my dorm room to provide for myself, you know, thankfully, like I got help from the government to, to help pay for my education. But, you know, I grew up on welfare. Like, we didn't, we didn't have any money. My parents didn't have any, any money to fund, you know, my, my, my college. So, um, I literally worked like three jobs while going to college and I hustled. I, I ran a barbershop out of my, out of my dorm room and, you know, I, I fought to, to pay my way through school. And then I land this career to then realize. That, you know, with this career, I didn't, I didn't wanna do it. I didn't wanna work building someone else's dreams. I didn't wanna dedicate my life to just doing something that I felt like wasn't really what God wanted me to do. So I had to take that leap of faith. And you know what it's like to grow up in the ghetto, to grow up poor? And, and then, you know, you get this six figure career, but now you have to muster up the courage to let go of the six figure career. After you finally got certainty, you finally got security. You finally have the ability to just buy whatever it is that you want and, and now I embark on entrepreneurship and I have to let go of my certainty. I have to let go of the security all and now build my life right as an entrepreneur from scratch. And, and when I got into entrepreneurship, when I retired from my career, I wasn't even making$500 a month in my business. I literally took that leap of faith and went all in and just outta full transparency, I didn't have kids at that time, so it was a lot easier to do that. Thankfully, I didn't have kids because that gave me the encouragement to, to push forward. But then I start building my business and I, I go on to build a multimillion dollar business, many bi businesses. I was running in my twenties and had all of this success, you know, and there I am speaking at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in front of 22,000 people and influencing thousands and thousands of people and, and having all this success, helping people travel around the world. And then COVID hits, and then bam, business goes bankrupt. And now I'm forced to start all over from scratch. However, I've built an entire identity around entrepreneurship and it's not like you can just go running to another job and saying, oh, well let me just go back to a nine to five. It's like, no, you've gotta get resourceful, you gotta adapt. And I know what that's like. I know what it's like to build something to, to like, you know, finally getting to the point where you win your championship ring, you get that, that goal, and, and you're on top of the world and then you see it crumbling, and now you have to pivot. You have to adapt, and you have to find new ways to survive. Right? But this, this go around, it's different because now you're stripped of your uncertainty, you're stripped of your security. But now I have a family, now I have a wife and three kids, and I have a generation of people that I'm leading. Right? What do you do? So why do I mention all of that? Because I basically navigated through a lot of different circumstances that I had to overcome. And today, as a coach, as a mentor, as a speaker, I'm helping the generation before me that's either in that storm or trying to figure out how to navigate through that storm. And I'm here with the great elixir, right? The, the, the prize of having gone through that hero's journey was the experience, the wisdom, the skills, the expertise, the knowledge, all of those different things that I come back to this next generation with. And it's like, Hey, let me show you the way, let me show you the way. So then I, the, the, the business comes crumbling. Then I have to build back my life. And, and now I'm, you know, coaching and speaking. But guess what? It's like now you, you're building an entirely new career. And, and there's no, like, I didn't have that, that ability to just be scrappy and, and go out and, and do side hustles and make a little hundred or 200 a day from a side hustle.'cause now I'm speaking on television now I'm like interviewing some of the most successful people in the world. And it's like, it's a, it's a different grind. And I know what it's like to go through mental health challenges. I know what it's like to be down in the valley and, and be stressed out of your mind, having anxiety, because you have to take care of a family. Now. There are people who are counting on you and you've gotta show up. And I know what that's like. I, I, I, I know what it's like to, you know, have more month at the end of the money. I know what it's like to literally be on your last dime. And, and all of those things, they're, they're valuable. They're valuable. Everything that you've gone through your mess can become your inspiring message. I don't regret any of it. I'm actually grateful for it. I'm glad God chose that for my path, because if I hadn't gone through that, I would not be able to relate to those who tune into this podcast. I would not be able to relate to the people that I serve. Imagine if it was just all glorious, right? People would think that I'm just full of myself. It's like, yeah, it's easy for him, right? But the true value came from when I had to get humble again, and I had to be humbled, and I had to know what it was like to go through financial struggle. I had to know what it was like to lose some things. I had to know what it's like to even lose a parent, right? My, my father. And I'll share this with you. Um, I, I didn't grow up with my biological father and, um, I, some of you know the story, maybe you don't. Um, but I had a, a really amazing, um, high school football career. Um, I was leading, uh, New York State in defensive interceptions. I played free safety. Um, and I was, uh, number five in the nation for defensive interceptions. And we had won a championship. My, my junior year built up the football program from scratch. There wasn't even a football program before going to that school. And we built it up from scratch and, uh, had an amazing, amazing journey. And I was always on the news and newspapers and, and on te television, um, as an athlete. And my, my siblings had found out from my father's side, and they actually, um, my father had my siblings come visit me. They wanted to meet me. And then when I graduated from high school, I wanted to like, get to know my father. I, I wanted to get to just like, meet him and, and ask him questions and things like that. So I went to him, right? He didn't come to me. I had never shared a meal with my father. And I go and like, I, I hang out a few times and it was beautiful getting to like, just kind of know, you know, the, the, the man that you come from, right? And, you know, it's a lot very healing. And I, I had no type of resentment anything whatsoever. And then I, I, I have my first kid at 25 years old and my father passes away that very same week, that very same week. Like I had, I didn't have him to go to for like, advice or anything like that. And, you know, he didn't even get to experience his grandchildren. He was 43 years old when he passed away. Right. And the reason why I bring that up is because. Even though it, it sounds like, like, you know, one of the worst things that a young man could possibly go through, just growing up fatherless. And there's a lot of things that I had to heal from. However, I don't regret any of it. And you know, in fact it, it allows me to reach a generation of young men that grew up with a single mom or grew up fatherless it, it allows me to reach them and it allows me to empathize with them in a very deep way. So no matter what you've gone through, no matter how much you've messed up your life, understand that there's a generation of people that you can serve because you've gone through it and you've gotten to the other side. Okay, so what have you overcome? And that is a gift. Those challenges, those obstacles, they are a gift because those very things could be where you find your purpose. Is this making sense? If you guys are getting value so far, drop a VI wanna make sure that you, you all are, are still with me on this and it's making sense for you. Next up with, when it comes to your purposes, the problems that trigger you, this is a big one. What problems trigger you? The other day I was looking at just the, the destruction of our planet and climate change. Many of you know that, you know, I, I, I'm a licensed, I'm licensed by the Coast Guard as a merchant, marine, uh, captain. And I went to school, I went to a maritime college to, to be a sailor and all of that. And that was one of the things that I, that I studied. And it was a big part of my work. Just, you know, sailing all around the world. And, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm very, very passionate about. Just our planet and taking care of our planet. And when I, when I was watching this, this documentary on just what's going on around the world, and if you guys don't know, like the Australia wildfires are due to climate change and like we are destroying like you, there, there were billions of species that were eradicated during that wildfire, right? Like tons of nature that was just wiped out. And it was very triggering. And it was very triggering to the point where it's like, I need to advocate for this. I need to use my platform to raise awareness about this. And sometimes you, you know, you're not in a position to just change the world. However, you can raise awareness, you can, you can advocate, you can, you can do so many things that maybe you don't have the financial resources, but you can just speak about it. There's just not enough people who understand what's truly going on. And it's like, if we don't advocate and speak up about this, our, our grandchildren will not have an earth to inherit. Um, like this is not, this is not something that is just like, Hey, lemme just share this. No, this is, this is a very, very urgent thing to understand and share with people. So we have to stand up. Right. And that's one of the things that frustrates me. It's like, we can have money for wars, but there, there's not money to, you know, pour into our healthcare and to help the sickly and to help children that are starving around the world, right. To, to, to fund nonprofits that are, you know, are, are fighting against human trafficking. Like, there, there's so many different things, right? So even if you don't have the financial resources, even just you speaking up about it and sharing what's going on is, is helping to spread the light. Okay. Another thing when it comes to the, the problems that trigger you is ask yourself, what do you wish someone would fix? What do you wish someone would fix in the world? This is another way that you can find your purpose. Okay? And lastly is for the people, um, you feel, people you feel called to help. That's a big one. The people you feel called to help. So the three main things when it comes to finding your purpose, find out what your gifts are, problems that trigger you and people you feel called to help. So that could be the younger version of you. I remember when I got into the speaking world, one of the things that was shared, uh, with me was, and I found this so profound, is you are most powerfully positioned to serve the person you once were. Think about that. So for those of you single moms, for example, maybe there's a generation of single moms that you could help because you know what it's like to go through that. Maybe the younger version of you was lost or confused or just consumed with addiction, and you can be the person to help that next generation because you've gotten to the other side. But we also have to step up as the next generation for those of you elders, and we have tons of people who are 60 plus in our breakfast club community. Listen, you have value, you have something that you can offer us younger folks, you, you've gone through some life, you've got a long history with God. So you, you have value to give to the younger generation, but you gotta reach out. Okay, and maybe you're called to lead entrepreneurs or parents, men, women. My, my wife serves a generation of women with her community, right? So like, you can find your tribe and just find a group of people that you can serve. And I'm telling you, you will find your fulfillment. You will find your joy in that process. Now, here are some more real ways to start serving today. Okay? Uh, it can be starting a podcast or a content channel. Maybe you start a YouTube channel again. You don't wanna be on the side of the pendulum, that's the consumer. Be on the side of the pendulum. That's the creator. However, you're gonna do it as a content creator, as with a podcast. Maybe you're speaking or whatever, but be a part of the creator side. You could volunteer locally, find a nonprofit, find a maybe your local church. I mean, a couple of weeks ago, my wife and, and my kids, we, we were, uh, serving an orphanage, a local orphanage in our, our community, right? You can find all kinds of stuff that you can do. You can mentor someone for free. Just reach out. It doesn't even have to be something that you're compensated for. Maybe you just start off, start out doing it for free. And that's what I did when I got started in just mentoring people and coaching people. I was just doing it for free. I was not getting paid to the, even to this day, I do the Breakfast Club free of charge. Right? It's, this is my community. Work back to the community now. Yeah. You know, many times it does lead to opportunity, which is cool, and that's, that's the beautiful thing about gifts. Your gifts will make room for you. Okay. Another thing you can do is share your story online. Testimonials are powerful and someone needs to hear your testimony and maybe you could just talk about a difficult season, and that could be just something that could help people get through. You'd be surprised at how many people can relate to you. There's so many people who hop on to the Journey podcast, for example. Maybe they hear. Uh, about my, my challenges, my struggles, or different things that I've gone through, but they don't necessarily relate to me. And that's the beautiful thing about just people who are out there sharing their stories is like, you can find a mentor that relates to you there. I'm not the only one who does this kind of work. However, there's an entire set of people who resonate with my specific message. They may not resonate with a Mel Robbins or a Tony Robbins, or they may not resonate with a Jay Shetty, but they resonate with a young brother from Brooklyn, you know, that came up and built his life from, from nothing. You understand, and there are people that will resonate with you, and maybe you're, again, you're, you're probably the single mom. Maybe you're someone who lost 60 pounds or whatever the case may be. But there are tons of people that specifically need to hear from you, and you can start by sharing your story online. Another thing that you can do is build a small community. It could be a Facebook group, it could be events. Many of you know, we do tons of events. Uh, we have our, uh, our signature event at the end of the year, which is the Creators Conference, which I absolutely love, and hopefully you guys can be a part of that as well. But, you know, we've done tons of trips, we do tons of seminars, all kinds of stuff, all right. Or maybe you can just even offer a free service to gain clarity for someone. Do it for free. Just find, find different ways that you can pay it forward. Now, remember this, you don't need a million followers to have a purpose. All you need is one person to serve. It's not about being a mega influencer, it's about being a person of influence. And you can do that with just one person. Don't get caught up in all the vanity metrics and all of that. I do not get caught up in all just having millions of followers and being the popular guy. I, I just care to be a person that's impactful, a person of genuine influence. Right. There's a, there's a big, big difference between being an influencer and being a person of influence, right? Like, and, and you never wanna get that confused. So many people who are, quote unquote, influencers, right? But they can't even influence them their damn selves to helping people around the world. And that's really what it's about. It's not about this self-fulfilling journey where, you know, let me be the coolest, the most popular, right? Everything is about you. I'm telling you, your life will turn on you if you continue to live in a way where it's all about you and what you can gain, it will turn on you. And, and your mental health would take a toll, right? Find a way that you can go outward and reach people, okay? And help people. All right? Another thing you wanna do, um, and this is the shift that changes everything. Stop asking what do I want? And start asking where am I needed? I wanna let that sit for a, a moment. Think about that. Instead of asking, what do I want, start asking, where am I needed, it'll change your life because now it's going from just what you can gain to how you can serve. Purpose is not about happiness, it's about responsibility. And responsibility is nothing more than your ability to respond. How do you respond in the world? How do you respond to setbacks, to obstacles, to the world? Just going through different challenges. How do you show up? Right? That's what it's about. Taking up your cross and seeing how you can pay it forward. So, as we get ready to close out, I just wanted to share some life hacks and fun facts. I know today was a little, little deep, little heavy, but it, it's, it's important. It's important. And we need more urgency around these things. Remember, your purpose is not hiding from you. It's waiting for you to step up. The problems you see in the world are not random. They are invitations. How profound is that? These are not random problems. They are invitations for us to step up and us to genuinely have meaning in the world. Okay? So my call to action to all of you is definitely reflect on one problem you care about this week and take one action within the next 24 hours. Something that you can do. What's one problem? Maybe it's just checking in on a loved one. Maybe it's finding a homeless person and feeding them for the day, like whatever it is. But find something that you genuinely care about and find one action that you can take. Over the next 24 hours. Really cool. So before we wrap up, I just wanted to share a few life hacks and fun facts. The very first life hack is the Anger Clue Hack. The Anger clue hack. And basically the way it works is what makes you angry about the world equals where your purpose may lie. What makes you angry about the world? Right? We all have some, I know tons of people who are very passionate about human trafficking. If that pisses you on, like you, you need to do something about it. And you will find a purpose in, in there. If you, you're purpose is saving souls because you know what it's like to be a lost soul in the world. Maybe that's your purpose, but what makes you angry? Maybe it's the war going on or it's injustice, right? Maybe it's systemic oppression, whatever it is. But find out something that genuinely makes you angry about the world, and that's where your purpose may lie. Find a way that you can serve that area. Next is the younger you hack. The younger you hack help the version of you that once struggled, help the version of you that once struggled. It's another way you can find your purpose. Maybe you've, you, you've navigated through alcohol addiction or drug addiction, or, or operated, you know, as a single mom and you know what that struggle is like or whatever, right? Maybe just lost with your purpose and you can help that younger version of you. And the last life hack is the 1% better impact rule, and the way that works is focus on helping one person today. Instead of trying to save the world, because sometimes, like the other day, I was reflecting on that as well. I was like, man, there is a lot of issues going on in the world. Like there's so much, and I, I know that I can't just do it all by myself. I know that I'm not going to change everything. Right. But what if you can just focus on helping one person or just focus on 1%, right? Just 1% difference. That's the idea. Okay. Now I'm gonna share three fun facts before we bring it in for landing. The first one is studies show people who volunteer regularly report higher life satisfaction and lower depression. So this is. Tons of science backed data that I'm sharing with you guys. Lot of research on it. That's, that's how I know that it could ultimately lead you to fulfillment and joy in your life. The second fun fact is humans are wired for meaning through contribution. Not consumption. You're not gonna buy your way to happiness. It's true contribution. And lastly is the longest living communities like Blue Zones have a strong sense of purpose tied to service. One of the blue zones that come to mind is Okinawa, Japan. And these Blue Zones people are living well past a hundred years old. And a lot of it has to do with their sense of community, their sense of purpose. Okay, so as we wrap up, here are the last few takeaways. You don't need to find your purpose. You need to find who needs you. The world doesn't reward talent. It rewards value. And lastly, your pain has a purpose if you are willing to use it.
