We probably dont actually start talking about the show until like 40 minutes in Lol.
Hello, how are you? I'm doing good, man. I mean, I've been doing kind of bad, but today in particular, I'm feeling super good, man. It's uh it's Mother's Day, we alive. We got Gasser and Danny doing another podcast. What's up with you?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, happy Mother's Day, my dude.
SPEAKER_04Right?
SPEAKER_03Huh?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, happy Mother's Day. Are you doing um are you doing anything cool with your little fur babies today?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_04What they didn't like cookie breakfast or something?
SPEAKER_03That would be r I that sounds like a nightmare.
SPEAKER_04Would you not trust it?
SPEAKER_03I feel like I would wake up in the middle of the night and be terrified if I saw that.
SPEAKER_04Like if they were cooking you breakfast. My dogs stacked on top of each other in the kitchen trying to raise the equivalent of three children trying to get into an R-rated movie, but it's just all your pets stacked to make breakfast.
SPEAKER_03Right. Like two kids in a trench coat, but it's two cats and a dog, or two dogs and a cat in a trench coat in a kitchen, making pancakes.
SPEAKER_04It's dog cat stacked making flapjacks. Yeah, man. I just watched the new uh Mortal Kombat movie last night. It was like way better than I expected it to be.
SPEAKER_03I uh have not seen any of those, but I did see an ad for it, and it looked okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean you're not usually into like gory stuff, so like it makes sense. Mortal Kombat, out of all the like, you know, shit we had growing up was always the bloodiest. Like uh the fatalities and stuff like that. So um I'm not too surprised that you haven't tapped in.
SPEAKER_03But for some reason why I know that there's one, and I don't know if it's that one, but I know I don't really play video games, you know this. But I know that there is one um like there is one like fighting game that I'm like really stupid good at, and I don't have any because I really feel like I just smash buttons, but I win all the time whenever I play. And like to the point where Tara stopped playing with me.
SPEAKER_04Uh so it's a game you guys own.
SPEAKER_03Um, it's a so she has like a a couple Xboxes that are like um they have like downloaded games on them. Um, so she has she has those, and I think it was on that maybe, or maybe it was when we had the game pass.
SPEAKER_04Sure, yeah, because they give you free games with the game pass.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Something along those lines, but yeah, it was definitely like interesting, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_04You just happen to be mashing the perfect combos that people spend weeks trying to master, and you're just literally that's awesome, and she's like, I don't want to play this anymore.
SPEAKER_03It's like okay. She also won't play Battleship with me either.
SPEAKER_04Battleship? Wow, really? Are you like super good at Battleship?
SPEAKER_03Apparently, it's and it's not like it's not like I have any like fancy uh what's it called, technique or anything. Like I I literally just be out here guessing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean that's like I'm like uh like F16. She's like, what? Are you kidding me? Flips the board.
SPEAKER_04Hey, you know, I believe that there's something to stuff like that, and only because I've been experiencing it with fats because he's been over here like so often uh in the last couple of months, like we've been playing games together and like doing things, and like I know, he's basically your boyfriend, right? Right. Um we just don't make eye contact when we have sex, but you know, uh we we keep our socks on to keep them from being gay. Um yeah, it's like there's this weird when you spend a certain amount of time with somebody and you synchronize, there's like a uh a psychic connection where as soon as you're thinking about saying something, they'll say what you're thinking about. Or like, you know, the the whole finishing each other's sandwiches thing that we'd be joking about, but like it'll happen in weird ways where I'll be like, huh, what do I want to watch when I get back to the house? And then I'll get there and he'll have it on. And I'm like, what the fuck? How'd you know I wanted to watch the new season of Jujutsu Kaisen? He's like, I didn't, but sit down, or something like that, you know, like it's crazy.
SPEAKER_03So I could imagine That's how that's how me and Lacey were like when I was living with her. Like, I remember one time we were like driving down the road, and there were these two people that were pulled over, and uh they were like they had the hood open and stuff. It was like one person was pulled over, and like another person had pulled over to like help or something, but they didn't look like they actually even knew what they were doing or anything. And so we drove past, and at the same exact time, we both said, Wow, yeah, that's an engine.
SPEAKER_04What a that's funny, yeah.
SPEAKER_03We just be out here making fun of men, dude.
SPEAKER_04I could imagine playing freaking battleship with somebody who you're like psychically connected to. It would be the most frustrating game because you're thinking, okay, F2. And then they're like, is it F2? And you're all goddamn it. You gotta play like a mental Yu-Gi-Oh with Pegasus reading your mind game where you just don't even look at where you put it, and you pray to God that the other person didn't see which side of the board. Like, yeah, man, I could imagine that. Dude, yeah, speaking of Yu-Gi-Oh! This is my time to confess. I was playing Yu-Gi-Oh! with fats uh a few days ago.
SPEAKER_03Did you cheat?
SPEAKER_04I cheated.
SPEAKER_03I hella cheated.
SPEAKER_04And what's crazy is in the past, and he'll he'll know by the time you know he hears this, but I haven't confessed yet because I feel like a criminal.
SPEAKER_01You are a criminal!
SPEAKER_04We ha we have an honor system, and there've been so many times where he's like made a mistake about cards and I've checked him on it. So for me to go out of my way to be like, nah, it does this when really it does that, I was just afraid to lose. And you know what's crazy? I hate that about myself that sometimes when I'm backed into a corner, I'll just lie. And I hate that. I feel like such an honest, genuine guy. I hate that like I do that. So, like, this is a great opportunity.
SPEAKER_03I do believe, and don't quote me on this, but I do believe that actually is your ADHD.
SPEAKER_04Well, it's nice to have some sort of excuse, but it doesn't necessarily make people want to be my friend after.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, no, absolutely not. It does not, it does not excuse it, but it is a very common trait in uh people with ADHD to like impulsively lie about stuff like that. Because like winning gives us dopamine, and we want to win.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, there have been times I've won uh and found out later that I didn't win, and like busted down his door, and I was like, traps don't work on Ginzo, and he's all what So it's like bro, you won. But I thought I won because I used a trap. But Genzo's only effect is traps don't work on Genzo. So it's like fuck. I I yeah, you know what I mean? But in this particular scenario, I was reading the description of something, and I had to sacrifice a card in order to use a card. But the card that I sacrificed was not a card I was supposed to sacrifice, I just had nothing else. So I read it weird, and when I read it weird, he's all can you read that again? And I was like, Yeah, I'll read it again, and I'm all fucked. I'm like, this fool is so psychically connected to me that I can't even like I can't pull shit.
SPEAKER_03He probably fucking knows. He probably was just like, Yeah, okay, I'll just give it to you because apparently you need the win.
SPEAKER_04Well, the thing is, I still lost, so it never even mattered in the first place. But it still ate me inside though. It it ate me up because I'm like, why would I ever lie to somebody I care about so much? You, yeah, you know, Chris, Mole. Yeah, you know, like it just made me feel bad, and uh I never like fessed up to it. So now's my opportunity on live Potovision. To keep a dirty little cheater. I love you, and I'm sorry, fats. Who's a dirty little cheater?
SPEAKER_03Tara is a dirty little cheater, and she's she's not even ashamed about it either. She is not even ashamed about it. She will like happily cheat and smile in your face while she does it. Damn. Yeah. So, like, if you're ever playing cards against humanity with her, how she succeeded with cards against humanity. Ask her regularly how many cards you got, ho.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that's how wow.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Cause she'd be like stacking her deck so that way she's always got a good option.
SPEAKER_04Damn, damn, that's great. The first thing I was thinking is, man, cards against humanity is all based on opinion. Like, how could you possibly cheat at a game like that? But yeah, having more options than everyone is definitely cheating.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're only supposed to have seven.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, man. You know, I felt not to circle all the way back, I felt so bad about misusing that card that I cut it up with scissors. I was like, never again. Never again. Yeah, exactly. I was like, it's not worth my sanity, my integrity.
SPEAKER_00That's funny.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, man. So I finished my dress up, darling. I'm almost all the way through the third season of JJK, and now because I don't feel like committing to the last three episodes of JJK, I've reverted back to watching original Naruto. Just, I don't know, something about it is bringing me comfort and nostalgia, so I've circled back to Naruto.
SPEAKER_03I'm not that far along with JJK. If I'm being completely honest, I feel like I this season is again losing me. That second season was like sick as hell, but this season, like with this game and all this shit, I'm kind of.
SPEAKER_04It's hella confusing, huh?
SPEAKER_03What the fuck is happening? What are we even watching anymore? I feel like I'm watching a completely different show.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, what I what where are we? Why are we doing this? I'm like, I don't want to do this anymore. I just want to go back to the game that we were playing. Right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, I mean it I s I understand why it's happening, but the placement of it is like super uh like anti-climactic because season two had such a I mean it's like the whole season was a climax. Like the entire arc was just fight after fight after fight, and now we're like slowing down and talking about how the magic system works, and everybody can make a rule, so rules keep getting added, and we don't even remember what the first fucking rules were, so like yeah, I haven't even gotten to the part where they're playing the game yet.
SPEAKER_03They just introduced the game, and then um and then Homegirl went and fucking killed everybody in the what was it, the Zenin clan? Is it the Zenin clan?
SPEAKER_04Oh, you saw that, yeah. Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it, but yeah. Um I guess you didn't say who, but yeah, she uh she goes pretty ham. She goes super ham.
SPEAKER_03That was kind of sick. I was like, damn girl, okay, get it, get it.
SPEAKER_04I know. Do you remember what she used to look like too? Because that's the other thing, too.
SPEAKER_03I was like, who the fuck is this?
SPEAKER_04It took me a second to I was saying, Who is this? And then it was like, oh, Maki. And I was like, Maki, the girl with the glasses and the ponytail who had the spear and shit. Right? What the fuck happened to her?
SPEAKER_03Literally.
SPEAKER_04I guess she got her ass beat in Shibuya, so she's covered in scars and her hair's all cut.
SPEAKER_03So, like, yeah, and then she just went, she went complete like butch lesbian, is what happened.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, she got buffed, like, hella buffed, bro. Like, and I guess people in Japan were upset because during her like main fight scene, they had like some American hip-hop playing, and I guess they were like, Oh, anime's becoming too influenced by Western culture, like, why couldn't Maki just have like her own moment without it being like something too appealed to Western audiences? And I was like, bruh, but it was sick. Like, I don't know, I guess I'm a Westerner, so I can't say shit.
SPEAKER_03But also, a lot of like Japanese culture is influenced by Western culture, like all of like J-pop and K-pop, right, all of their style and everything is influenced by like 90s black culture.
SPEAKER_04Not only that, but most anime intros that are like rock and heavy metal are like that's an American thing. Uh technically that's an England thing. So, like if you're using electric guitars and double bass drums, you're not doing traditional Japanese music. So, like, I guess every Naruto intro isn't, you know, I don't you know, you know what I'm saying? It's like everybody's influenced by somebody. Why everybody gotta find something to be mad about?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, I get it. It's funny actually that you had that she said that too, because like so this has nothing to do with anime, and it's a complete like I'm veering completely off subject right now. But I also feel like it kind of does because of what we're talking about. So, um there is this like big controversy in the book world right now about like essentially like what constitutes plagiarism and how like can you uh actually like prosecute against plagiarism because um there's this book that came out called Powerless, and the the like author came out and said that her book was influenced by another book called Red Queen and the Hunger Games, so those two books influenced her book, however, and I've seen like I saw this girl who like literally read all of the books shot for shot, and like she made a complete breakdown of all of the similarities, and there are entire like scenes where things are exactly the same, like there's this one scene apparently where like the heroine has to learn how to dance, and so the like male main character ends up like taking her out in the middle of the night to teach her how to dance in both the Red Queen and in the other one. Sure, um, both of the the male main characters names start with the same letter, both of the female main characters' sisters, they both are like they sew, and at one point both of their hands get crushed, and they say, like shop in one book it says like her sewing hands, they were crushed and her life was ruined. And then in the other ones, it was in the other book it said her hands, her life, they were ruined.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, that's that's like doing someone's homework at that point. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's like literally like shot for shot stuff. There's there's one um so like you know Effie Trinket from the Hunger Games? Probably not. I don't even know if you Yeah, you do?
SPEAKER_04Is it the author? I mean I know the Hunger Games.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no. The um Effie Effie Trinket was the person who comes to the districts and like has people drop.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, she she's like she ended up being a good guy at the end, right? She let what's gonna be.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, kinda, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And she helps her like with all of the um the like super fabulous. Yeah, make makeup and helps her look like PR stuff.
SPEAKER_04And so I like that actress who plays her too. She's great. She's Rita Repulsa of the Power Rangers. Sorry, carry on.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and she's in uh um pitch perfect too.
SPEAKER_04Um, the judge.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, anyway, so she ends up um naming, like, there's a character just like that in the that book, and it's like there's Effie trinket, and then it's like something like Elfie or El Elsie, or it's like just almost exactly like the name, and it sounds just like it, and it's like she does the same job, acts the same way.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. There's so many like so.
SPEAKER_03It's it's more than just being it's more than just being influenced, it's like you're literally taking people's ideas at this point.
SPEAKER_04But it's a cheap imitation. You know, nothing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_04The more you try to take from something and not make it original, is the less like valuable it's gonna be. You're like watering it down. So like if you're if her book is super successful and she claims like, oh yeah, you know, I took influence from this and that, but really she just took the best parts of the things she loved from those two stories and mushed them together into one giant, you know, jumbalaya. Like I just think that if you're not being original, it's not gonna be good. Like you can so here's here's an example Black Clover. You've probably heard of it, but probably never seen it. But Black Clover is basically an amalgamation of Bleach and Naruto, the whole concept of like the hierarchy of the power system, um, the whole way that dude was an orphan and had no guidance, but he always pushed himself, it's totally Naruto. But then the giant black sword, totally bleach. The the way that like the the um the wizard king is like the leader, and there's an entire arc where the wizard king, which is obviously the the leader of where they live, gets attacked by this person who has been plotting on them from the very beginning. Dude has white hair, or excuse me, dude has like super white skin and brings a group of four people with him so that they can try to take down the wizard king. This is the exact tuning exams plot of our. Trying to kill the third Hokage in Naruto, which is one of the greatest sagas of Naruto ever. So the fact that Black Clover said that they were inspired by Naruto, and their big final act is just the tuning exams, that's where I'm like, okay, yeah, the fights were good. The characters are original. Their reasons for what they're doing are different. But at the end of the day, it's still this dude plotting to kill the king, and the little guy can do nothing but watch as this amazing fight takes place before his eyes. You know, so like in those situations, sure, there's a bit of originality to it, but at the end of the day, that's a bit of a copy, you know. But this lady seems like instead of Orochimaru fighting the third Hokage and then Licked fighting the lizard king, or lizard, the wizard king, it's Bobo Chimaru versus the second Jochage. You know, like they're not even trying to make it different, so yeah, man, sue that bitch.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's wild. There's like there's a lot of discourse about it on TikTok right now. It's kind of crazy. I just like the tea. It's funny that you brought up Black Clover too, because I actually have kids that are like wanting me to watch Black Clover. It's not bad. And I'm like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04You know, for all the showden that are like dark and action-packed, like, sure, there's some darkness in Black Clover, and yeah, there's a lot of action. Um, but it's kind of the Danny version of Naruto. Like, Naruto takes itself so seriously sometimes that it's like, okay, bro, you're bleeding out, your master's dying. Like, I can't take any more loss. But in Black Clover, there's a bit of lightheartedness to it, where like at the end of their missions, they'll go home and just like have an episode where Charmy's making cakes. You know what I mean? And it's not filler. It's like just the way of the world has a lot more of a lighthearted nature to it, and then serious shit comes and interrupts your peace. That's the best way I would describe Black Clover. You know, if you're not going out on missions to collect magicules and run into a fucking gang along the way, it's like, you know, there's a whole clan of evil wizards who are plotting on you, and they're not gonna show up for five episodes. So for five episodes, we're gonna do a competition on who can do the best hopscotch.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I feel like um what's it called? Fucking My Hero Academia is pretty serious, and I like My Hero Academia quite a bit.
SPEAKER_04You know, Black Era is Black Era. Black Clover is the same era as um as like Horikoshi's stuff. So um My Hero Academia and Black Clover were competitors, and they're they have a lot of similarities. The way that they like take breaks between arcs to like remind you that these are kids, like um I don't know, man. I think Black Clover is good, and it's not that long. It's only like uh I shouldn't say that to you. For you, not that long is 12 episodes. Um but compared to like you know, One Piece that's a thousand, or even Naruto that's like 500, um, Black Clover's only a hundred episodes. And then there's a movie Jesus. Yeah, but if you like it, like they'll go by like a breeze, you know. Um and there is filler. I know I said that some of what I was talking about wasn't filler, but there is filler that you can skip to make that go by quicker as well, like at least 20 episodes of filler. Um but yeah, so with all of the different stuff we've touched on, what are some like anime that you've been watching recently?
SPEAKER_03I definitely so we definitely have to talk about my dress up, darling. But but before we get there, oh my gosh, I started texting you last night because I just started watching this new anime. I so I started watching Yeah, I started watching two anime. I don't think you called it the octopus thing, because it's not even that, it's just the octopus thing. But um, so I started watching two different anime last night, um, both of which are like they are in the middle of the like seasons, so I'm still waiting on like episodes to come out and stuff.
SPEAKER_04There was one that I was watching that is a romance, which I can't was it the um that one girl that talks super quiet and the art is like kind of simple?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_04I remember watching an episode of that and thinking it was cute.
SPEAKER_03The other one that I was watching and that I was texting you about is called um Go For It Nakamura corn Nakamura?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh, so first of all, it's done in like the style of art that like Ranma is done in. So it's like that 80s kind of anime style, like watercolors. Um, no, like just like the style of the like faces and stuff. It like it like kind of gives like um like almost Dragon Ball Dragon Ball Dragon Ball or like Sailor Moon type style. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. So it's like kind of 80s style drawing, but like it's not based in the 80s, it's based in like current times, you can tell, because like the technology that they draw is like iPhones and stuff, so nice.
SPEAKER_04Is it square?
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_04So shows didn't become widescreen till like the mid 2000s. So like when you say it's like an 80s, like they're trying to replicate the 80s style. Is the show you're watching square? Like, are there two black bars on the side? Oh, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_03No, not at all.
SPEAKER_04Nice, that's cool.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, no, not at all.
SPEAKER_04It'd be cool if they did make that attempt, but it's better to not. I like widescreen.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, it's just the the style of art. That's it. Um, but the uh the whole concept of it is um Nakamura is like this really, really shy kid, and he's gay. And basically, almost like the first two episodes start out with like my name is Nakamura, blah blah blah blah blah, or something, something Nakamura, I don't know, I don't remember what his first name is, but he goes, No, no, no, my name is this, and then he goes, I'm incredibly shy and gay, and I'm head over heels in love with my classmate, and it's so fucking funny, dude. It is literally like I have been fucking dying laughing.
SPEAKER_04I see later, it just came out.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, it just came out in April, and he had like so. Basically, he's very shy. He all he wants, like, he doesn't even like, yes, of course, it would be his dream to go on a date, but like he that's not even his goal. His goal is literally just to talk to homeboy, and he's like so shy, and he's like, like, there's one point where he's just trying to get the courage to go up to him and say like hi at the end of class, and he ends up like I think the the the kid he likes stands up and turns around, and just as he's about to reach out and like tap on his shoulder to say like hello, and then he like turns around with his hand, like as like Nakamura's hand is up, and he's like, Oh, hi, and he just like his face just turns red, and then he goes and then he like turns around and runs and hides in the cubby, and then as the kid is walking out of the classroom, he drops his hanky, and he's he's been using this he's been using this manga called like uh for the love of school lunches or something like that. I can't remember what it's called, but this manga is like a BL and it's his like Bible, he calls it, and he's been using that as like references on like how to talk to uh somebody or how to like um approach someone and kind of like get the icebreaker going, and he's like, I know how to I know how to approach this situation, and he goes through like an entire like idealized uh like interaction in his mind of like what it what could happen if he goes and picks up the hanky and hands it to him and he goes, You dropped your hanky. By the way, if you're having trouble with schoolwork, would you like to hang out and I can help you? And and as he's coming up with this entire scenario in his head, this other classmate of his ends up getting up and going and goes to reach down for the hanky, and he like freaks out, runs, and then just stomps on the hanky as the girl and his friends are like or the boy that he likes are like staring at him, like, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_04And he's like just making it worse.
SPEAKER_03And he's like, Why did I do that? Oh no, why did I do that? And he's just frozen, and then he like reaches down and it's got like his shoe print on it, and he picks it up and he goes, You dropped your hanky. Yeah, after you fucking and it's just so bad and so awkward, and he's so funny, and it's so funny. Like, he's in he loves fucking octopuses or octopi or whatever the fuck. And uh there's like multiple situ they ended up they were octopi napping because they had some octopi in a sink and they thought they had to eat them, but it was turns out it was for the biology class. Oh that's absolutely but that whole thing was it was so fucking funny. Um, because they were like, oh no, she's gonna make us cook these. But the octopi had actually just escaped, and like they were putting it in the in the sink, or they they were come the teacher came to go get it back. Anyway, also the teacher, who the teacher is kind of hot, anyway. Um, so he like at one point the boy that he likes asks him, You really like Octopi, don't you? And he starts to say yes, and then he remembers that he like didn't, or that he got made fun of for liking Octopi, like when he was a kid, and he was like, No, no, no, no, no, no, not at all. And then later on, there's this moment where like it kind of is revealed that he actually does really like Octopi, and he's like, you know, it's free to to be honest, and they just like I don't know, it's it's there's sweet moments, but there's also just like it's for the most part just been fucking hilarious, and I've just been dying laughing watching this show.
SPEAKER_04Nice. Also, I found out some details about this show since I know nothing about it. Um, I was looking it up just to see the art, but then I saw like the details below, and um, it says that the newest edition of the manga is a reboot. So apparently the original manga came out in 2014 and ran until 2016. And then there was even a sequel manga called Go For It Again, Nakamura. Uh that started in 2017. So I think there's probably a time skip where he gets older. I'm sure in the anime they'll probably just have it all be, you know, a consecutive thing, but like uh they rebooted the manga in 2025. So like basically they started all the way from the beginning again, and then that's what inspired the anime to like pick it up in the following year, which is now.
SPEAKER_03That's interesting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, super interesting. Go for it, Nakamura, and go for it again, Nakamura.
SPEAKER_03It is a really good anime so far. I am very much enjoying it. It's freaking adorable.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it m um it coming out in 2014 might explain the simplistic art style that it has. You know, they kind of just wanted to be consistent with the design rather than like have it be completely, you know, redone.
SPEAKER_03I still feel like that wasn't really the style, even in 2014, though.
SPEAKER_04No, I'm trying to think of what was going on in 2014. I feel like 2014.
SPEAKER_03I feel like like Black Butler came out like around then, like maybe like two years prior, something like that. And Black Butler has more modern art than that.
SPEAKER_04I wasn't really watching a whole lot of new anime in that time.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, you weren't.
SPEAKER_04Like uh after high school. No, I was watching Legend of Korra after high school.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we had a hardcore Legend of Korra moment right after high school.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well, it was coming out uh like what was it, every every couple of months they were like dropping the episodes, and so we let them build up and then watch them, and then then the box sets would come out and I'd rebuy the box sets.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And we would like binge them discs at a time. Any motherfucking ways. You want to talk about my dress up a daroding?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you've been watching my dress up, darling. You finished it. Or at least once come out.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and I was sad. I was like, Because it became my background show. I don't want to disrespect anybody by saying like I wasn't giving my 100 and full, like 10 110 full percent attention.
SPEAKER_03No, that's okay. It's because it's like it's a very easy show, so you don't have to pay a hundred like you don't have to pay so much attention because you're not worried about missing details because they're not gonna be like super important to the plot.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, man, like I kind of want to go back and watch certain what I'm I'm almost glad that I didn't pay a hundred and ten percent attention because then you can rewatch it and it'll still feel kind of new. Yes, and like some of my favorite moments, like uh I I really liked the um towards the end when they were doing the giant group shot, and uh the whole time you think that what's her name just hates the the short girl, but really it's just her biggest fan.
SPEAKER_03Like that actually kind of annoyed me. I was like, are you kidding me? You set me up this whole time to think that she hated her, and now this is how it is.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, man. I don't know. I I like I respect the the main guy too, uh Gojo. I think that um the way that he really is just a giant nerd about um his dolls. Um I love the fact that like uh his grandpa's like totally supportive of you know the choices he's making with cosplay and like hey, you know, never thought that we'd have a clothing designer in the family, and he's all clothing designer. No, I just I'm just using what I know about the dolls, and he's like, call it what you want it, man, but you're way more talented than you think you are, and you don't need to stay in this freaking doll factory your whole life. Go do something with yourself. Like uh Yeah, I don't know, it's cool.
SPEAKER_03I uh And that's kind of like crazy to think about too because like most Japanese like families, especially ones that are fairly traditional, which I would think that Gojo is fairly traditional, especially considering like the fact that he just regularly wears traditional clothes rather than anything modern.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, everybody thinks he's cosplaying when he goes to the events and he's like, no, these are just the clothes I wear.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um, but what was I saying? God damn it, I forgot.
SPEAKER_04Um traditional families.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, so traditional families in in Japan typically they really want to like pass their legacy down to their next generation. And so the fact that grandpa is very much like, no, you do you, you're doing so good with what you're doing, like you should pursue it, is actually like kind of really awesome.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it also him deviating from the dolls and focusing on real people made him even better at doing the dolls too, and at a s on a certain episode. It was like he did it and his grandpa like was like, hey man, and he's like, Oh no, I've been neglecting my my doll shit. Like uh maybe he's gonna notice that it's not perfect or something like that. And he's like, Gojo, like you've gotten so much better. Like, whatever you're whatever you're doing, it's working like because yeah, I don't know. I I guess maybe just as a as a dude, I like to think that everything that happens in my life leads up to what I'm gonna do next. So like seeing these things happen in real time is satisfying, even when it's something as silly as you know dressing a girl up for a cosplay event. I really liked when uh what is her name? I feel so bad that I remember his and not hers. Um shit. I can't think of her name right now, but the the main girl, um I loved when she did the the male cosplay and they like squeezed down her boobs with like the compression uh sports bra thing. And uh it's called La Binder. She had to totally learn how to stand. She had to like learn how to like uh like carry herself masculine. Kitagawa. Yes, Kitugawa, exactly. But do you remember um she had to like learn how to Yeah, she was like trying to be like masculine in her mannerisms, exactly. I also liked when they learned about the eye tape because I did not know that and it makes so much sense. Do you remember the eye tape? Oh yeah, no, yeah, and this show is a perfect representation that life imitates art and art imitates life. Okay, yeah. I really appreciated the photography episode too, where they were talking about like, oh, if you want to make yourself look big, go for low angles. If you want to make yourself look small, go for high angles, and like I I liked the show, and you know, I I don't have like a whole lot to say about it because I finished it a couple of weeks ago, so it's not the freshest in my memory, but yeah, dude, I finished it almost a year ago, so yeah, it's it's super not fresh for me. I liked it because it was funny. There was a lot of cute things, like I liked that anime exists within the anime show, and the art is just hella simplified, so for them it's cartoons, even though for us they're all cartoons. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, like the I liked shit like that, man. Like, um, it just felt like it had a lot of character, it had a lot of heart, and it made me laugh, which was the most important thing. I could throw it on while I'm doing something else, and be like, what the fuck did they just say and run it back? Uh yeah. And golly gee willakers if there's not a whole lot of boobies in this show.
SPEAKER_03So there really are. There really are. It's actually kind of funny because I have a student who um so they have me watching Hori Maya at lunch, um, which to Be honest, I might stop because uh it's not the most appropriate for school. Hory. Um, but uh this student was saying, like, oh, we can watch like my dress up darling, and I was like, No, we can't, we absolutely cannot. And they were like, Why? It's not bad. I'm like, bro, yes, it is, and they were like, How? And I'm like, it is not school appropriate. That is all I'm gonna say. I'm not gonna go into detail, I'm not gonna explain. If you don't understand, then I am not gonna corrupt your sweet little mind, sweet little mind. But I guarantee he knows, he knows, like, if he were to go back and it might just be that he wasn't paying attention or he wasn't like thinking about the boobs when he was recommending it.
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_03But like, because like overall the story itself is very cute and wholesome, and the main character is definitely very wholesome. But um, yeah, no, boobs. Hella boobs, boobs are not okay.
SPEAKER_04Go, titties.
SPEAKER_03Hella boobs, literally sweat, sweat dripping down into boobies.
SPEAKER_04Sweat dripping from boobies down to panties.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_03I don't I I don't remember exactly seeing that, but sure.
SPEAKER_04Um Bro, the the very first chick that um Kitagawa wants to cosplay, the like gothic big titty goth chick, the poster that she has on her wall, it's like physically impossible for those titties to be in that dress. It's just not it's not I get that it's not real, right? Because this is anime, but there's no possible reasoning to how those cups could contain that type of gravitational pull. Yeah. Um Dim Biddies was Tig.
SPEAKER_03If you are interested in another anime, but this one you would have to actually pay attention to because it's it's not um dubbed, it's only in sub. But and I just started watching it too. This is another one of the animes that I've I started watching like three of them. Um it's called Pardon the Intrusion, I'm Home.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_03And this one's also funny. It's adults, which is nice. It's nice to watch a romance anime that's with adults and not children. Um because then you don't feel like a fucking creep. Yes, but indeed. It is it is adults, and basically this girl is uh um, she's like an office worker and she's like exhausted all the time. She just wants to get home and watch her anime. And uh her neighbor is like a recluse of sorts. I'm not gonna give any spoilers away, but um apparently, like, she when she wants to watch anime, like he only lets her watch one type of anime or one singular show of anime, and whenever she tries to watch anything else, he kind of like bangs on the wall and she gets all like sad and stuff. So, like there's one day where her other neighbor ends up like coming over after work to give her some sweets or something like that, and she's like had a really long day, and she's like, Why are you so nice? You remind me of my grandma. And uh he's he he's like, Why are you so upset? And she kind of explains like my neighbor won't my other neighbor won't let me watch the anime that I want because he keeps banging on the wall, and so he ends up like going into the house with her and like tries to knock on the wall and talk to the guy through the thing, and then he calls him a Neanderthal. And homeboy breaks the fucking wall and like bursts into that to the house.
SPEAKER_04Shit. Neanderthal.
SPEAKER_03And then it's kind of revealed that he's he's kind of a very uh special person, and she's like who he is, and she's very excited to meet him, and uh, she's like, Yes, you can step on me, daddy. And what the fuck?
SPEAKER_04This took such a crazy turn.
SPEAKER_03Those are my words, but basically she's like, I will do anything for you, and uh, and so it's kind of funny, but yeah, so it's it's so far it's been pretty funny. Um, and it's kind of cute. She's she's a very adorable, cute little anime character, and then the the two anime boys, you've got like the like punky, like blonde anime boy, and then you've got the like wholesome glasses wearing black-haired office worker anime boy.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you gotta have your trio, huh?
SPEAKER_03Yep, yep. But yeah, so it's it's kind of interesting.
SPEAKER_04Nice. It it does sound very roller coaster-y, so I could be down for that.
SPEAKER_03That is the first episode.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Oh, damn. So, hey, did you notice uh you remember we were talking a while back about how the creator of Full Metal was coming out with like a new show, but we didn't know when?
SPEAKER_03Um yeah, I think you told me about that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that shit has like five episodes out. Um I watched the first episode. The first episode was incredible. Like, so crazy, so good, and so not what I expected. Um so I'm hoping that it carries that same momentum. Uh, I've been warned by fats that apparently it doesn't carry that same momentum and it dials it way back, so that kind of sucks to hear. But um yeah, man. I could be down to uh to see what's up with that by the time they like finish the first season, you know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't even remember anything about that anime, to be honest.
SPEAKER_04It's just a guy with a bow and arrow, was all I remembered when I was going in, and um that's definitely what I got, but it's so much crazy shit.
SPEAKER_03That's definitely what I got. That's funny.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, the bow, the arrow, the guy, we're all there.
SPEAKER_03You know what has been really popular, and I haven't watched it either, but I've been seeing people watching it online and talking about it online a lot. There's this anime. Yes, witch hat at learning.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, I don't know nothing about that.
SPEAKER_03Um, but people are like really, really like obsessed with this show, specifically because of one character, Quiffri. I think Quiffri is the character that she's that it is. But Quifri? This something like that, but this character is like apparently super hot. There's also a character with a goatee, which is interesting, never seen that in anime.
SPEAKER_04You know, it's funny that you mentioned the the hot shit because have you heard of Yandare Dark Elf?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_04So do you know about like these elf shows? No, they're like shows that are like they go anytime you see the word elf in a title, it's like it goes out of its way to be blatantly pervy. And now there's a plus sized elf show. Like I I'm pretty sure the name of the show is plus sized elf. And uh God damn, Danny is those fucking characters thick. Thick, Danny. When I say thick, I mean like you know how when Dairy Queen makes those those things and then they serve them to you upside down?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_04You know what I'm talking about?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_04You don't remember when Dairy Queen would serve the blizzards and in the commercials they'd like hold it upside down to show you how it's like sticking to the color.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, yeah. They don't actually do that in in real life though.
SPEAKER_04That's how thick, that's how thick these elves are, Danny. I need you to understand. I need you to understand, Danny, as someone who is just as fond of the female figure as I am, how thick these goddamn elves are, Danny.
SPEAKER_03I mean, the difference is that like I don't get weird about it like you do. Maybe not out loud, but you know, no, not out loud, and like I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Also, these are fictional characters. I'm allowed to be weird to fictional characters. If these were if these were like real people, it'd be like, hey, show some respect. These niggas don't exist. Like, they're portray, they're portraying a level of thickness that is indescribable to anything beyond Dairy Queen blizzards flipped upside down. And with that, uh it has been so make sure to give the likes and subscriptions and the stars and let us know what anime you want to do. Yeah, please, please describe to us how thick you are in great uh metaphorical detail. I would love that actually, because as much as creepy guys want pictures, I would love to just know anonymous descriptions of how thick somebody is using similes and metaphors. That would be so so entertaining and please do that.
SPEAKER_03I feel like it wouldn't be so cute though. I feel like it could get gross. I can't reach my ass.
SPEAKER_04That's okay. I'll reach it for you. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and uh hey Danny, you should uh read the manga for bug of the straight dogs.
SPEAKER_03You interrupted yourself yes.
