Behnaz:

I have just come back from a one-way trip with my whole family: my husband and I, my two sisters and their families, and my mom. I have been working so hard on my business recently and although I had enjoyed every single moment, I had not noticed how much I had become tired, both physically and mentally. The beauty, peace, and silence of the resort, the love and warmth of the loved ones, and not doing even one small thing related to the business really recharged me and I appreciated the beauty of life once again, as I always do. Now that I am back active and energetic, I would love to dedicate today's episode to the beauty of life. Just like everyone else, I've had so many ups and downs in my life, some very difficult, some easier, but still difficult. Behnaz:

Today, I want to talk about how truly beautiful life is, even when things are difficult. It's so easy to get caught up in all the negativity in the world and focus on what's wrong or going wrong, but I think it's important that we make an effort to appreciate all the good as well. Life is full of ups and downs, but even in the lowest moments, there is still so much beauty to be found if we just open our eyes to it. Take a moment to think about all the simple pleasures and joys you experience every single day: the warmth of the sun on your face, a good cup of coffee or tea, or a hug from a loved one. These little things are what make life worthwhile. Appreciating beauty doesn't have to be about grand gestures or expensive experiences. It's in the everyday moments that really matter. By the way, I have a FREE guide for you called, "Positive Thinking for success five practical strategies you need to know. Behnaz:

Now let's get back to what we were talking about. I want to expand more on some of these everyday beauties that we can appreciate. The warmth of the sun: Have you ever just sat outside on a sunny day and let the rays soak into your skin? Science has proven the benefits of natural sunlight on our physical and mental health. Those vitamin D levels get a boost and it just feels good.

Behnaz:

A cup of coffee or tea: I love cozying up and starting my day with a hot milk coffee with chia seeds in it. The aroma alone is soothing. Taking a few minutes to slowly zip something comforting is a simple pleasure. A hug from a loved one: Human touch releases oxytocin the love hormone which improves mood, reduces stress, and boosts the feeling of connection.

Behnaz:

Unverbal displays of affection are so important for well-being. When we're struggling, it's natural to feel like things will never get better, but the truth is this too shall pass. Happier times are ahead, even if we can't see them yet. The ups and downs are what gives life its rhythm. Without the load, we couldn't truly appreciate the highs. Every challenge we face makes us stronger, and every difficulty we overcome gives us more wisdom and resilience to get through the next one. Our lives are a constant journey of growth.

Behnaz:

It's so important that even in our darkest hours, we make an effort to find things that bring us joy, however small. Make a cup of coffee or tea and watch the sunset. Call a friend, listen to uplifting music. Do an act of kindness for someone else. Helping others is a great way to lift your own spirits too. Taking care of our mental health during hard times helps us appreciate the good things still around us. Let me expand more on finding joy through acts of kindness. Helping others releases feel-good chemicals in the brain, like serotonin and dopamine. Even a small gesture like bringing a neighbour their maid or paying for the coffee of the person behind you in line can brighten someone's day and make you feel good too. You could volunteer your time at a local shelter, soup kitchen or nursing home. Spending time with the elderly is mutually uplifting. Smiling at strangers and starting friendly conversations also spread more positivity. Saving out work helps shift our mindset from problems to solutions.

Behnaz:

Life is full of beauty in nature too. The changing seasons, a colourful sunset, a blooming flower there was a magical view in front of our villa. It was so beautiful that it really didn't seem normal, and no matter what time of the day or night you looked at it, it was still breathtakingly beautiful. It was a great joy for me to go to the deck every now and then, sit on a chair and just do nothing but look at the view and enjoy the silence and peace. Of course, I was busy with the rest of the family as well, but I could always find some alone time with my favourite and beautiful view.

Behnaz:

Spending time in nature has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and boost happiness. Make it a priority to get outside and appreciate the natural world, even if it's just a short walk during your lunch break. Fresh air and greenery do wonders for the soul. Let me expand more on the benefits of nature. Being outdoors reduces levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. Studies show just five minutes of green space view can lower blood pressure and heart rate. Sunlight exposure boosts vitamin D and serotonin levels. The sounds of birds singing, leaves rustling in the breeze or waves crashing are profoundly calming. Walking has physical helpers too, like lowering the risk of heart disease and diabetes. Even viewing pictures of nature has positive effects on mood and cognitive functioning. Seeing a daily dose of greenery a priority is truly nourishing for body and soul.

Behnaz:

Appreciating life's beauty also means focusing on our health. What we put into our bodies affects both our physical and mental well-being. Feel yourself with nutritious, whole foods as much as possible to feel your best. Make sleep a priority too. Our bodies and minds need adequate rest to function at their best. Self-care is so important for a positive outlook. Let me expand more on self-care and nutrition. Getting 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night is linked to a lower risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and depression. Developing a relaxing bedtime routine helps wind down. Eating mostly whole, minimally processed plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts supplies steady energy and essential nutrients. Limiting sugar, unhealthy fats and processed junk provides mental clarity. Hightweighting with water supports every bodily function. Healthiness releases endorphins and serotonin to naturally boost mood. Even light activity like walking has benefits. Self-care is truly preventative health care.

Behnaz:

Surrounding ourselves with positive people also leaves our mood and perspective. Spend more time with friends and family who make you laugh, encourage you and bring out your best qualities. Spend time with negative or toxic people who drag you down. Your environment has a huge impact on your mindset. Let me expand more on the importance of community. Positive social connections are crucial for well-being and longevity. Studies show people with strong social support live longer and have stronger immune function. Spending quality time without lifting people improves mood and reduces stress. Sharing laughs and inside jokes creates a sense of belonging. Receiving words of affirmation, advice or a listening ear from trusted friend is therapeutic. Surrounding yourself with individuals focused on growth and empowerment lifts you up too. While it's okay to distance yourself from draining relationships, seek to resolve conflicts constructively when possible to avoid unnecessary negativity.

Behnaz:

Finally, have gratitude. Take a moment each day to appreciate three things you are grateful for. No matter how small, gratitude changes our mindset from what we lack to what we have. It's so easy to forget life's simple blessings when we're focused on problems, but being thankful keeps us present to enjoy each day. Let me close by emphasizing the importance of daily gratitude. Studies show grateful people experience less depression and stress, while sleeping better and feeling more optimistic. Taking just five minutes upon waking and before bedtime to acknowledge three to five things you're grateful for rewires the brain over time to a more positive outlook. It could be thanking your body for its abilities, the roof over your head or a delicious meal.

Behnaz:

Appreciating small blessings shifts perspective. Keeping a gratitude journal amplifies the effects. Expressing thanks to others also strengthens relationships. Cultivating daily gratitude is truly life-changing. I hope this episode has inspired you to open your eyes to life's beauty, even in hard times. Appreciating both the big and small things is what makes this journey worthwhile. Wishing you all peace and happiness. Thanks for tuning to another episode of Howl.
