family as also we pray through uh the presentation and the discussion that we started last week as a church family as I presented a proposal uh for us to uh approve a plan to develop a campus in the to you this morning about what we talk about when we say spiritual gifts. 00:15:53.039 --> 00:15:56.879 If you've been in church any amount of time, you've heard that term spiritual gifts. multiple passages of Scripture that deal with spiritual gifts or spiritual giftedness. 00:16:13.360 --> 00:16:23.600 And I've chosen this one because it is a solid base foundation and it allows us to understand and make clear these principles that we're talking about today. 00:16:23.840 --> 00:16:30.720 Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice. 00:16:30.879 --> 00:16:49.840 And he's using the picture of the Old Testament Jewish faith when they would literally sacrifice animals, kill them on the altar, and their blood, that blood sacrifice would represent, for example, Jesus who would come as the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world. 00:16:50.320 --> 00:16:53.440 So he's literally talking about sacrifice. were given one of these gifts, and it flows out of the Holy Spirit in your life from a sacrificed life, and the body of Christ is empowered through all of these parts, doing this supernaturally
