Hey , what's going on ? Welcome back to the Come On you Know podcast , where we turn Thursdays into Fridays and Fridays into the weekend . No , we don't , anyway , that would be magic . So this episode I want to talk about my two years and running show . Two years anniversary , that's right . 24 months plus of me just sitting down talking garbage and you all keep listening . Yeah , two-year anniversary . Just want to shout this out and I mean this is not like therapy , but if it was like , my copay would probably be covered by now , but page will probably be covered by now . But anywho , we're getting a little bit more professional . We have a studio covering us and me and hopefully , if I figure it out , work with a couple of people . People , I'm gonna try to have an ai avatar , not the most privy on the tech , but I do what I can , but I want to talk about that .
Speaker 1So , anyway , how did I start
? I started off of a bet . I was at work . I said , hey , you know , off of a bet I was at work . I said , hey , you know , I should start a podcast . Folks at work said , hey , you can't do it . I said don't tell me I can't , because I will and I'll make you the butt of my joke Jokes and I did it . So , anyway , I started it , I learned how to do it and guess what ? I learned how to do it at work . So jokes on you work . I spent your time , your hours , on learning how to do this and well , I guess the joke's not on them because I'm still working there , but anyway , I do want to discuss my journey
.
Speaker 1For anyone that's out there that wants to do this , consistency , like I've learned , consistency is the key . It's very hard to be consistent at this age . I'm an adult , have a career , have responsibilities , I want to go home , I'm tired , and being consistent in a hobby is rough . All you adults out there that know what I'm talking about like , hey , I'm with you , you're with me . This started out as a bet , which I didn't win anything , even though I won . But being consistent with something like this is like I respect it , although people there are people that just pump out garbage and I hear it and I listen , but at least it's consistent garbage . So it's like , hey , if they take the garbage out on Monday , blah , it goes out on Monday , but at least it's consistent . So but you know , I kept going and I will continue to keep going and I will continue to make things sharper , make it better , and I will . I will . So like I , and I will , I will . So , like I said , I started with a bet .
Speaker 1Folks at work said , hey , I dare you , you won't do it . I said , don't ever dare me because I'm going to do it . And I did and so , yeah , like I'm not , I'm old , so I'm not into the followers thing and I have a million followers all bet . Now I don't , I have close to the opposite end of a million , but I don't know what that means and I'm getting there . But you know , it's , it's for fun , um , but yeah , but I do want to talk about what changed in the past two years .
Speaker 1So
a coworker of mine listened in when I first started and he said , hey , man , you found your voice . I'm like , well , I mean , I never lost it , I am who I am . But that is a thing . Once you get into this type of environment entertainment and you listen to yourself , you may hate yourself , you may hate how you sound , you may hate what you say , all that stuff , but I am very comfortable with myself in the real world . But that doesn't necessarily translate into like the entertainment world and this and people listening to what you say . But I am .
Speaker 1But when you first start it doesn't turn out that way . Like when I first started , I was like , oh yeah , I don't . Like I cut a lot , I stopped a lot and I hurt myself . I'm like , no , that's choppy , this and that . But now you put a and in real life , like before , like I was always like , hey , you put a mic in front of me , I'm okay . But put a mic in front of me , empty screen , it's like , eh , I wasn't okay in the beginning , but now I am .
Speaker 1It's been a long time and I could do this on the fly and it's just reps and so I respect people in the entertainment industry because it's just really reps . It really is . So get your reps in . This is my advice If you're trying to do this . I learned that reps will do you well .
Speaker 1So other reflections that I've had I've learned that talking to a mic will kind of expose you . Like if you're bad , you're bad . If you're not , if you're fake , it'll like the mic will find out . If you're not , it'll help you out . But I've learned people will kind of watch I don't know stupid videos , cat videos before they share your podcast because you're just another human being .
Speaker 1But you just got to keep going , and I'm always a fan of progression and progressing and I will . But you just got to keep going . I'm not there yet with the pod-keezy , but you know I will keep going and consistency always beats following
and applause and all that stuff . Like you know , some coworkers have told me , some other listeners have told me like , yeah , I listened to your advice , I liked it , I adhered to it and it has produced X and it has produced Y , but it's like , okay , well , I also learn and live and all that . So , anyway , I do want to shout out my fake fans . You all have acted like you were fans . You haven't reposted , whatever that means , but I still appreciate you all anyway . So , but you know , big shout out to me for being my biggest supporter . That's just classic me . I am and I will continue to be .
Speaker 1But anyway , so , like I want to talk about , like my vision , forward my bigger goals , and I may want to do like a video version . I'm going to have guests , I may have spinoffs and I know you all are like yo man , you got the mini me podcast going on , but I have big vision ideas and I will execute them . That's the thing . I can't not execute all the ideas that I have . So , looking forward to year three , I'll be louder , sharper , you know , maybe with a better mic stand . Or bet my mic stand is not bad , I really do . I want to have guests because I think I can do well . Well , I'm not going to say , I'm going to think like I will do well with guests and it'll be entertaining , it'll be fun .
Speaker 1But here's the two years to the mic , to the madness . You know the movement . Everything that I've done has been fun and it's , it's comfortable . Now and I would , anyone that wants to do it , I would push you towards doing it . Just find your voice , just find , find your footing , find like your grounding , all that stuff , and you could do it . You could do it . And it won't be . It's not like , oh , I don't know what to say , like you'll find out what to say . Get a couple of episodes under your belt , you'll rock out . But anyway , yes , it's a short episode , but just wanted to pat myself on the back . It's been two years , two big , big ones , and I will continue to do this .
Speaker 1And for all of you that have been listening . I may , I'm I don't know if I said this , but I'm going to try to do the ai avatar and have him talk , but that it's a little bit beyond my technical expertise , but I don't care , I'm gonna keep trying , um ,
and doing what I need to do . So , anyway , another shout out to KMDA Studios . And hey , I do want to shout out like I love her YouTube channel . It's called ND Life Adventures , dory good friend co-worker . Like she gives like dope advice , adventures , great film . And YouTube co-worker . Like she gives like dope advice , adventures , great film in youtube .
Speaker 1Um , if you listen to me , please check out . I know like , like that's a thing . Uh , youtube podcast thing . It's like , yeah , check out , blah , blah . But hey , I've learned a lot . She doesn't know this , but I've learned a lot . Hey , I've learned a lot . She doesn't know this , but I've learned a lot from her show and it's really good . So check it out . And yeah , just keep listening . Got big things coming and word up See you later . Come on , you know , podcast . I'm out . Sola got .
