You are listening to the Dope Daily Audio Bible, and I'm your guy, pastor Charlie Mitchell, and today we're looking at one Peter chapter five. Let's roll. I exhort the elders among you as a fellow elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ, as well as one who shares in the glory about to be revealed Shepherd. God's flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion, but willingly as God would have you, not out of greed for money, but eagerly not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief shepherd appears, you'll receive the unfading crown of glory in the same way you who are younger, Be subject to the elders. All of you. Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another because God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble, humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he might exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on him because he cares about you. Be sober minded. Be alert. Your adversary, the devil is prowling around like a roaring line, looking for anyone he can devour, resist him firm in the spirit, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world. The God of all grace, who called you all to his eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, establish, strengthen, And support you after you have suffered a little while to him. Be dominion forever. Amen. Through s Venus, a faithful brother, as I consider him. I have written to you briefly in order to encourage you and to testify that this is the true grace of God stand firm in it. Heavenly Father, help us to lead with humility. Let us shepherd not control. Serve, not stunt. Teach us that greatness looks like kneeling and true strength. Should flow through surrender. So Lord, I pray that you will keep our hearts light When worry tries to capture us, remind us to cast it all on you. You actually care. You are not just a distant, far off God, but you are near nearer than our closest breath. So help us to stay alert. The enemy is real, but so is your victory. So when we feel shaky, remind us that you are the God who restores, who strengthens, and who establishes. So we won't chase fame and we won't fear the fire we walk in grace. Lord, help us to wear humility like a crown, and wait for the day when you lift us up in due time. We pray all of this in Jesus name. Amen.
