Heavenly Father, I pray that as we read the family line of David's descendants, I pray that we would see the story marked by triumphs and failures, faithfulness and mistakes. Through it all, you continue to preserve your promise to him. So we say thank you that your plans are not stopped by human weakness. When we look at our own lives, we see our own failures. regrets, unfinished stories, but you see what we're still creating through your grace. So help us not to be trapped by our past or discouraged by our shortcomings. Remind us that you are a God of redemption, able to bring beauty from brokenness w- and purpose from places or things that we thought were wasted. Jesus, thank you that you are the promised son of David, the King whose kingdom will never end. Because of you, our hope is secure. Because of you, our story is not finished. So help us to trust in your faithfulness today as we walk into uncertain tomorrows. In Jesus' name we pray, amen
