You're listening to the Dope Daily Audio Bible, and I'm your guy, Pastor Charlie Mitchell. And today, we're looking at Second Chronicles chapter three. Let's roll. Then Solomon began building the Lord's temple in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father, David, At the site David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. He began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign. These are Solomon's foundations for building God's temple. The length was ninety feet and the width thirty feet. The portico, Which was across the front extending across the width of the temple, was thirty feet wide. Its height was thirty feet. He overlaid its inner surface with pure gold. The larger room he paneled with cypress wood, overlaid with fine gold, and decorated with palm trees and chains. He adorned the temple with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was the gold of Parvaim. He overlaid the temple, the beams, the thresholds, its walls and doors with gold, and he carved cherubim on the walls. Then he made the most holy place. Its length corresponded to the width of the temple, thirty feet, and its width was thirty feet. He overlaid it with 45,000 pounds of fine gold. The weight of the nails was 20 ounces of gold, And he overlaid the ceiling with gold. He overlaid two cherubim of sculptured work for the Most Holy Place, and he overlaid them with gold. the overall length of the wings of the cherubim was 30 feet. The wing of one was seven and a half feet, touching the wall of its room, its other wing seven and a half feet, touching the wing of the other cherubim. the wing of the other cherubim was seven and a half feet, touching the wall of the room. Its other wing was seven and a half feet, Reaching the wing of the other cherubim. The wingspan of these cherubim was 30 feet. They stood on their feet and faced the larger room. He made the curtain of blue, purple, and crimson yarn and fine linen, and he wove cherubim into it. In front of the temple, he made two pillars, each 27 feet high. the capital on top of each was seven and a half feet high. He had made chain work in the inner sanctuary and also put it on top of the pillars. He made 100 pomegranates and fastened them into the chain work. Then he set up the pillars in front of the sanctuary, one on the right and one on the left. he named the one on the right Jachin and the other on the left Boaz. Let's pray. Jesus, you are holy, and you alone are worthy of our worship. 2 Chronicles Chapter 3, Solomon began building a temple, a place set apart for your presence. Every detail pointed to your greatness and reminded your people that you are unlike anything that had ever been created before. So I pray that we would never lose that sense of awe or greatness of who you are. I pray that we would worship you with reverence, gratitude, and joy. Since you have made us your temple through your Spirit, shape our hearts into a place where your love, your truth, and your holiness are always on display. Remove anything that keeps us from drawing close to you. Fill us with a deeper love for your presence and a greater desire to honor you in the ways that we live. Jesus, thank you that Because of your life, death, and resurrection, We don't have to wonder about how do we get near to you. you have opened the way for us. So help us to walk in that today, bringing glory to your name in all that we do. In Jesus' name we pray, amen
