JOHN VENTO:  to the show John thank you Joseph I'm happy to be here buddy we're I'm in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and it is a gorgeous day really sunny today is we
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  up just for since this won't air for a while I'm looking down at my calendar today being October the 30th nice in southeast Michigan today too so you how I just hope it's good for the kids for Halloween tomorrow of course when this show airs people will be scratching their heads Halloween but yeah we're recording the day before Halloween at any rate let's indeed talk about John Vento born at an early age where raised where you from Pennsylvania
JOHN VENTO:  ironically right out of high school I lived in a town called Grand Rapids Michigan for four and a half years and really enjoyed that I worked up there and it was kind of like my college education you know primarily I'm a western
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  Pennsylvania Pittsburgh guy you came out of the womb as a role of steel you say so I hope you didn't come out as a penguin who on your penguins
JOHN VENTO:  guess what we just lost seven games in a row so don't you make it it does make
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  me a little happier but there you go the red wings have not gotten off to a good start this season either so and we missed the playoffs by a tiebreaker last year we were supposed to be a sure playoff team this year but it's looking kind of iffy you I hear you but at any rate we're not here to talk hockey or football we're here to talk music I got Michael Stover's press release gotta tell you first thing I thought when I saw needs hotel band and it's needs it's not Ned's needs that to ease it's an IED apostrophe S I before E except after C applies needs hotel band song we're in this together my first reaction was oh no not another bunch of Marxist celebrities singing about globalism we are the world stuff but no no yours is biblical community and we need to get along on the block right we do yes we do what was the Genesis pun intended of
JOHN VENTO:  that song well you know you just said it this in this current political climate now this this show is probably gonna air after the election right I absolutely yes okay so who in the hell knows what that's gonna bring but you know this vitriol and ugliness and on social media which I would if I didn't if I wasn't involved with music I wouldn't even be involved with social media because the negativity the ugliness families being split apart over political candidates that don't even know your name you know my guess is that they don't even care about you or us or me so you know it just occurred to me like what the hell are we doing here as humans you know why are we treating each other this way and that's when I came up with the idea for the song we're in this
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  together and you know it went from there you get together with other artists this isn't your general band or is it your band no this is my big we added two female singers okay I knew there was an addition in their somehow yes they were eager I take it who are they and what bands do they come from or are they
JOHN VENTO:  individual artists yeah they're individual artists we had a Megan Paul let who's just a incredible I mean she's a hard-working musician here in Pittsburgh and Mia Z who was best known for being on the voice a few years ago in the top 10 on NBC's you know on the voice both of these young ladies have killer voices and and you know they kind of just added you know their talents and their vibe to the whole thing which made it that much better I don't watch the
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  voice myself but I have no doubt there's people in this audience that do I do it's a great accomplishment yeah I watch mass singer
JOHN VENTO:  maybe a little more silly but I'm not seen either one of those be quite honest
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  with you sure you're busy I'm on disability so I've got a lot of time to watch TV unfortunately I wish you will brother y'all thank you appreciate that and also I'm glad you mentioned Grand Rapids for those who may be listening for their first time I am in Detroit Michigan that's why he was eager to mention Grand Rapids on the other side of our state been there many times very familiar with Grand Rapids where I was gonna see where else you've been but obviously as a musician yeah you've been all over it'd be a short
JOHN VENTO:  or list for heaven you've been right well most of my travel yeah I've done some regional travel with music but my prior life my my prior corporate life many many years ago I traveled extensively throughout North America and it's you
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  know obviously the US and Canada what did you do before you were I was
JOHN VENTO:  there Westingham's corporation oh I'd get involved with music that happened
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  quite accidentally hmm oh well I pride myself and never scripting the show we just hit record we go see what rabbit holes opened up well there's a rabbit hole how accidentally did that happen it is very accidentally I was screwing
JOHN VENTO:  around with karaoke in a bar one night here in Pittsburgh and of course I loved music and had an energy for it a family history of musicians and just a friend of mine said hey there's a local band looking for a singer and I was like I'm not a me you know I well I convinced me to go to the audition and I got the
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  gig and that's how it started that reminds me of the journey band story when they carry okie guy you're right oh what's what Perry I can't replace he replaced deep Perry Steve Perry I couldn't think of right Steve Perry and the band were at odds and having issues he had just done a solo album so they thought look we're going to replace you and indeed the guy who sounded and also like like Steve Perry karaoke guy got the gig and it's like a movie movie like Walt Mark Wahlberg to did a movie called I can't remember the title but if you look up Mark Wahlberg one of the movies I think it's a single word title is like that to band having it was a metal band having issues and the singer walks out they bring them up from the audience start singing becomes the new lead singer
JOHN VENTO:  Wow Wow that happens and yeah for me it was a karaoke and I I wasn't very good at karaoke I wasn't very good as a singer of a cover band and it took off few years to figure out my path was original music and then you don't have
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  sound like anybody else right oh absolutely right as long as the band the band then when you're writing they know your range what you're good at what you're comfortable with and work with that absolutely right that's the key I also understand that you have band together Pittsburgh charity you are a Christian and you put together band together Pittsburgh charity tell us about
JOHN VENTO:  that well I'm a co-founder amongst with another fellow Ron Essar Moon dog here in Pittsburgh but we have tons and tons of volunteers and and then a nutshell band together creates music programs for people on the autism spectrum and you know there's there's divine intervention because this happened just so organically and just so magically that there's no way this would have happened without somebody above guiding us along the way I will tell you that and also
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  the 9-11 tragedy me being a author of terror strikes coming soon to a city new you not about 9-11 but of course 9-11 in a book on terrorism has to be in there and you talk are you created or worked with to found right part of a team yes yeah remember me Rose Garden in relation to flight 93 shanksville PA go ahead and tell us how that happened a friend of mine was involved in the
JOHN VENTO:  early stages of the planning of the of the Rose Garden to honor the heroes of flight 93 and the summer of the 20th anniversary of that horrible day the summer of 2021 he just called me and asked about get involved he knew I was a gardener and you know real serious about that kind of stuff and what a blessing that's been also and what an incredible team we have them I'm part of a huge team of volunteers it is a sacred space I'll just say that it's moving and powerful and just close your eyes and think about what those passengers went through and those final 10 15 20 minutes when they knew when they knew they were sacrificing their lives for a bigger cause yeah I mean just unbelievable yeah
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  yeah in that moment I have an article I just released on the forks news it will appear again later it will have been on the Liberty beacon that come by the time this indeed airs calls fight flight or fade there is another okay but in that enclosed tin can you can't hide behind the seat that's not going to do you any good flight there's nowhere to go fight was there only real option so glad they stepped up to do that obviously huh would you share when you're

JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  you the before news version of it right now that is up it's out after we're done recording I will pass that link along to you that would be great I would love for you to be able to do that and you can do it as pre promotion of you coming on the show sure I would be happy to do that that would be wonderful yeah back to the Christian and they were in this together as I talk about on the show a lot big difference between biblical community because you use the word voluntary volunteers coming together regarding the remember me rose garden and the band together Pittsburgh charity that is biblical community where you volunteer voluntarily come together to work together for a collective cause but that's far different than Marxist communism socialism collectivism by force
JOHN VENTO:  of course well you have volunteerism is certainly a decision a choice that people make you know to do something special right right and yeah yeah that by choice you're not being forced if you're being forced into it that's called slavery or yeah exactly the other programs and the work that I'm involved with oh my goodness the beautiful people that step up and the things that they do
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  is just it's moving it really is yeah and again you don't have to be Christian to understand that do unto others no thing and to be our brothers keeper sing again voluntarily for God blows a cheerful giver right that we should want to be each other's aid and comfort at times not be forced to do it to indeed volunteer because if we don't so good we reap we are in complicit in the evil that is
JOHN VENTO:  reaped if we don't so good yes a million percent agreed agreed agreed yep do you
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  have anything in the works or is that all well when you say in the works you
JOHN VENTO:  know we just released this song which is our message of oh we got to get through this one and then we move forward from there you know what I mean they of course every day we've got to do good we we have an obligation every day especially those of us I mean you mentioned the year and disability my wife battles muscular dystrophy she's on disability so you know and she has such a beautiful spirit and gets a lot of a lot done but for those of us that don't have those struggles we have an obligation to help other people every way we can through financial resources or whether it's just through physical magic might be
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  encouragement which is very powerful yeah oh yeah absolutely voluntary via our own blood and treasure not stealing from one neighbor to give to somebody three states over like Tim wall said about one person socialism is another man's neighborliness no stealing from your neighbor to give somebody three states over isn't being neighborly Tim but at any rate as we said the election will be long over by the time this air so whether that statements you know it's still valid of course but what the results will be when this airs no one knows I
JOHN VENTO:  would no one knows and it's gonna be interesting but that's part of it too
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  as we've talked about sewing good to be able to read good that I talk about on the show and God's not dead the fifth installment movie also finally addressed 30 to 50 million supposed fellow Christians not registered to vote or registered but haven't voted or don't really yeah if we all voted right we that's part of the sewing good we must work towards good or again we're complicit in the evil that we allow and you know perhaps the song and the future can be about that right we're in this altogether but also individually we
JOHN VENTO:  gotta get off our but everybody should be participating in making things happen
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  for sure unfortunately that's not the way with too many people yeah and like I said I was glad that God's not dead in God we trust this installment of that series finally broached that to I know there are some out on the campaign trail that now also referenced that look if we all voted they couldn't even cheat
JOHN VENTO:  enough to take the election you know you're making the assumption and you could be right that the people not voting are more conservative I don't know if that's true or not fair assumption based on the people that I know that don't vote it's probably more I don't know is it 50 50 I don't know what it is well it's certainly
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  yeah a survey of them would need to be conducted but as this you know is about the Bible the whole Bible in full context community is biblical communism is not if you're a real Christian the choice should be pretty clear like I've got a sign on my door now here for the election provided by somebody that says I am Christian God would that want me to vote for Marxist communist or baby killers now I don't know if you'd go that far but
JOHN VENTO:  no I'm with you no no no no I oh my god it breaks my heart these late term abortions and all this stuff it's just who let it gets me upset yeah and I know I
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  mean survey after survey shows people are for allowing it in certain cases right but never generally late term and indeed had many shows on this obviously rape incest and supposed life of the mother even though she ever cooped the former Surgeon General for I think Reagan in his pediatric career he's never known of a reason to need to abort a child to save a mother you do an emergency c-section and then you treat both patients and then usually both the mother and the child live but is less than 1% rape incest and supposed life of the mother 99% are pure convenience and in this day and age with the availability of inexpensive and in some cases you can get for free contraception all kinds of different varieties of it you could have triple quadruple protection to not let that baby become right there are to kill right they say reproductive rights they always have to change the argument well reproduction already began so your reproductive rights are over those came when you have the chance to use contraception I'm in election mode right now obvious as we record but when this airs that will of course all been over but it's not as if these issues are gonna go away overnight understood not or not not not not brother let's let's bring it back to your band and your music I take it you found indeed a band the band that wanted to hire you are somewhat like-minded at least are they fellow Christians I'd say the most the guy yeah
JOHN VENTO:  most of the guys are are of Christian faith for sure absolutely yes but you
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  don't do Christian music genre per se we do not that's correct even though
JOHN VENTO:  there's an element you know in our songs of that being from Michigan we're very
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  familiar of course with Vincent aka Alice Cooper and his oh yeah returned to Christianity after his battle with alcoholism cleaned up his act he often says that a lot of his fan base is Christian because indeed while they are you know hard rock or rock or pop what there's a lot of Christian messages in their music I take it that's probably the same with you absolutely yes I have
JOHN VENTO:  done some songs that are overtly Christian like I did a solo record and one of the songs with let God drive I've had people who listened to a lot of my music a lot of my original music have said to me well it's obvious you put your faith out there which I do and you know when we do our shows we're very family-friendly so you know all those elements are there but we're certainly not in the world of of Christian music that you know the contemporary Christian music that we hear church Sundays or we hear on K-Love my wife loves K-Love you know so
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  does any of your songs play on that no K-Love no yeah they're not even the overtly Christian one unfortunately they haven't picked up huh that's correct
JOHN VENTO:  they have not well hey that's a big industry that's a big industry oh it sure
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  is but I'm gonna get all over Michael he needs to get on that thank you get your get that PR machine crank up and get you I'll be he's great on that I'm at
JOHN VENTO:  my office you know obviously I work I work for a living music is a big part of

Music, TV, & Politics…

A few weeks back I had a “Lets go to the Lobby for Snacks and Politics” piece and its follow-up “Movies, Snacks, Politics, part 2” so makes sense – lets talk briefly about Music and TV…

But first a brief reprise about Movies – I hope you all caught “They Live” 35th Anniversary this year (while showing in many Theaters September 2023) and if not at Theaters please rent or stream it after you read this. Reminder: “They Live” an early John Carpenter (Writer/Director) piece where he dared to go down ChristiTutionalist Politics line before I coined the term and “Aliens” (the E.T. variety) as stand-in for the #DeepState always moving and manipulating behind scenes. Human-nature of those willing to go-along-to-get-along to Cash in for themselves. The 15-minute (minor exaggeration) I hinted at in the Movies pieces is great metaphorical outline for the verbal back-and-forth we often have with DUMBocrats to get them to see Reality!

I tack this on here, as Patriots in good Independent Studios or Patriotic Producers/Directors need to assure this Song gets on the Soundtrack of their PRO-AMERICA Movies as many times/places as possible!! 

Lastly, I know this is OLD NEWS to a degree and you are well aware and likely heard this story for several weeks already via FOXNEWS, NEWSMAX, OAN, and other outlets (including the ridiculous attempts by Left #ENEMEdia to make this somehow a Racist song calling for violence when the Writers (no, not Jason) and he (Jason) indeed all on the same page as to why they wrote it and why he wanted to Record it. AN ANTI-CRIME and ANTI-VIOLENCE piece, but if/when push comes to shove that we do have a Right to Defend ourselves from it. To protect and prevent our Communities being Arsoned to the ground by ANTIFA and #BlackLyingMarxist Hitlerian Brown-Shirt thugs.

Only the Left and their constant Race-baiting have the gall to say scenes (that show people of ALL RACES) is somehow Racist as an indictment of Black people? Who are the Racists? They are, if they say crime automatically equals Black people! Meanwhile scuttling #BidenCrimeFamily investigations and still creating major reach (stretching beyond all credulity of those Laws intent) on Statutes to try to charge POTUS45/Trump! Spare us the “What about the Lynching that took place at that Courthouse a hundred years ago” manure that no-one knew about until the Leftists #ENEMEdia desperate for a Talking-Point managed to dig up that History. I guess the Hannah Montana and the Christmas Movie filmed there are now also Racist (just like they tried to deem Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” as somehow Racist). When are Black Americans going to wake up to this pathetic and desperate Race-baiting?!?! Whom, in Poll after Poll show they want more police protection from the runaway and rampant Crime happening due to FASCICRATS weak-on-Crime and other failing policies!!!

Thank you to all that emailed or called CMT or Cable Companies that carry CMT and let them know they would like CMT pulled from their line-up as money will be the only thing they understand. As discussed in the BIDENomics pieces they chase the Woke ESG pennies, we must make then suffer huge dollar loses until they learn to stop pandering to the Cancel Culture manure.

A friend of mine posted a Breitbart article titled “Woke Maren Morris Announces She’s Leaving Country Music: ‘Misogynistic & Racist & Homophobic & Transphobic’” (no, not gonna link it) that I would talk about but all our “kind” reactions (here are those) were “WHO?”  And some “less than polite” responses too (including a few snide ones from yours truly). LOL

Television:

That’s now Movies, Music, but what about TV? May as well take a pot-shot at that too?!?!  I had for decades hoped we’d get a reboot of “The Streets of San Francisco;” like Hawaii Five-O was, and Magnum P.I. was; and while I liked those originals (I did not tune-in for those reboots) but that was long before Newsome, Piglosi, others, have completely destroyed it over these last couple of decades. So, maybe best we can hope for is reboot of Adam-12; though that was set in L.A. which has equally degraded into one of Dante’s layers of Hell, but maybe could be reset into a different City; as a method of bringing traditional values and BACK THE BLUE back; as opposed to all the Trash we’re getting these days (like, sadly, the reboot of Quantum Leap went all WOKE)?!?!?


Some final thoughts:

Now after three-parts total of/for “Movies and Politics (Music and TV tacked on in part 3)” I could go on forever, and probably no surprise to anyone that is a regular reader of mine that at some time in near future I would have a part three (more on Movies, and to pivot to Music and TV) as I now have! 


Follow-up to the piece a few weeks back discussion of one of my all-time favorite Directors/Producers Roland Emmerich (and the part 2 “Movies, Snacks, Politics” piece): Many know Toby and/or Noah Emmerich, two of the people involved in/with the great Movie CELLULAR (with Noah Emmerich*, Chris Evans, Jason Statham, William H. Macy, Kim Bassinger, more) I just rented (via my DISHnetwork OnDemand feature (sign-up with my VCD0026116345 referral code for discounts)) to watch again as it is an A+ (remember, when that film came out was just at the time of proliferation of Cell phones with advanced features and therefore absolute genius script at that time). A good “temporary escape from Politics film.” From GOOGLE (about Noah): On television, the native New Yorker was a series regular on BACKWASH and played the despondent Dr. Edwin Jenner in the two-part Season 1 finale of THE WALKING DEAD. Emmerich's brother is film producer Toby Emmerich, but they are not, Emmerich explains, related to Director/Producer Roland Emmerich.
