CTP (S3E147) Toxic Empathy - Do You Want A Dream (Delusion) Or A Mirror (Reality) - the TOXIC EMPATHY (syndrome, and book by that name) discussion
Exploring more of the fascinating intersection of Activism, Community Engagement, Faith / Religion, Human Nature, Politics, Social Issues, and beyond
We challenge the idea that empathy is always a virtue and argue that “toxic empathy” can be used to push people toward harmful outcomes. We mix cultural critique with satire and a tough-love call to choose reality over comforting delusion.
• why we release a former video exclusive as audio
• the difference between wanting to be good and being useful
• how toxic empathy reframes harm as compassion
• why feelings can’t replace facts in moral decisions
• the gap between classical liberal instincts and ideological activism
• satire and songs as a way to expose denial and outrage loops
• the case for tough love and speaking hard truths

Welcome And Quick Housekeeping

SPEAKER_00

Hello, welcome to another episode of Pristitutionalist Podcast. I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard. That's L-E-N-A-R-D. It looks French. It's not, it's Leonard without an O. Thank you for tuning in. As Graham Norton used to say on his show. Let's get on with the show! Hello, gang. How are you doing? This is a cheek segment. I am recording this as a lead-in to a standard Saturday show that is going to air through the audio platform 25 Plus of Christitution's podcast. What was formerly a CTP video exclusive that I feel needs to go out as a regular show.

Why This Release Is Different

SPEAKER_00

So very recorded with a video exclusive. It could be from a month ago. It could be from a couple months ago. So very when you hear things regarding time frames. It may be from a while ago. I normally don't promote other people at all. I mean, yeah. I've had authors on all the time. Promote their book. I'm happy to do that. But I mean like a movie review. I do those on occasion promote movies I like. I've even had book life after week October 2025. Very after that. I literally don't do that. What is that? I'm talking about going to indeed

The Case Against Toxic Empathy

SPEAKER_00

talk directly my health. I'm someone else. And I just think from the kitchen again, you're thinking about people. People in people. I know she's a great person. But that's what we're talking about. And I think most people want to be good people. And even Matthew 23 things. They're equally good. And why my favorite book I'm talking about? Very important book. Oh my book. Why the right left feeling of a fool? Feeling of left and fool. I don't think anything. You're in a compassion. You're in a neighbor. You can have something that could kill them. You're not helping them. You're helping them commit suicide. But these same people, of course, are murdering children. Oh, that's somehow empathy to murder children who had no life yet, got nothing to know what. And are for you things that they're easily duping you because of traffic empathy. Perfect book, great book, absolute necessary for most people want to be good. Most people feel almost and think feel they're good. And my whole life I've living series of books about trying to so good, be better ourselves, reflecting. Look at Michael Jackson asked. Look at the man or woman in the mirror, asking them to change their way, be a better person. Rick Springfield karma album. The karma song itself. The line. Yeah, yeah, that line. Oh yeah. Every little love I give to another. You know what I believe? It comes back to me. You don't have to be a Christian to believe that sentiment. But in biblical. Not in the Bible or of from the Bible, but it's very biblical. And also Springfield's prayer. Like Michael Jackson's thought. I send a prayer to heaven for the change to be a better man than the man, man or woman, than the man or woman I see. Reflecting in my mirror. Wanting to be better. Not being foolish and falling for the woke, tactic empathy. Most people are good. Most people might be liberal, not leftist, as I go into in my Christitual education series. There's a difference between a classical liberal who feels their way better than you vital, left hard wolf idiot. Classic empathy. They're misled. They're misguided. And you can read a classical liberal skill like Brandon Strock. And she red-pilled. She's gone she's more recarpilled of late with her nuttiness. So she's not a great example. But she got red-pilled, but now she's moved on to overdose amount of recard pills. But she created black. The black movement is still something found good. Uh even though she's right anything in the membrane. I want you to be a thinker. I don't want you to be an overthinker in a way, like toxic thinking. I I maybe I should write that book. It's the subtitle. Anyway, I toxic empathy. I recommend the book. I do. I really do. I've rambled enough. This has gone longer than it needs to be. I think I've laid out everything that needs to be said. Thank you all. Take care. God bless. Love you all.

SPEAKER_05

Is there a blood test for stupid? Can we just scream for that? Stick out your arm

Satire Song On Denial

SPEAKER_05

for a moment. Find where the thinking's flat. Can't fix stupid, they tell me. Like it's a law of a land. But I'd sign up for the trial run if someone just took a stand. Yeah. Is there a blood test for stupid? Line on the pipe, take a try. For the sake of everybody who still cares enough to ask why. Ignorance is bliss. They're laughing. High on their own illusion.

SPEAKER_04

We're the ones paying the price.

SPEAKER_05

Drowning in the confusion. They say they're saving the future. Shouting in matching shirts.

SPEAKER_02

Sharing a thousand truth memes. Till reality hurt. Faith in a cartoon version. Facts in a shallow grave.

SPEAKER_05

We're stuck cleaning the wreckage of every feel good crusade.

SPEAKER_02

As Barnum said long ago, suck a born every minute. These left balloons constantly show they got TDS and just can't quit it.

SPEAKER_07

Is there a blood?

SPEAKER_02

What's do it?

SPEAKER_05

Line them up and take a try. For the sake of everybody who still cares enough to ask why. Ignorance is blitz.

SPEAKER_06

They're laughing. High on their own illusion. We're the ones paying the price.

SPEAKER_05

Browning in the confusion. Draw the light, draw the vial, can we diagnose denial?

SPEAKER_06

If there's a cure, one small shot. Take the car.

SPEAKER_02

Is there a process for stupid? Take a try. For the sake of everybody. Who still cares enough? To ask why?

SPEAKER_06

They're laughing.

SPEAKER_02

Often they're bright delusion. We're the ones holding the bill. Bleeding out in the confusion. Is there a blood test for stupid? Cat fix. Stupid, so they say. Wish someone would try. First sake of all anyway. Ignorance is bliss. Left loves their delusion. Rest of us suffer in the confusion. They scream about no kings in a nation, ditch the crown.

SPEAKER_05

Two fifty-ish years ago now, these folks are clowns.

SPEAKER_07

Good people prevail. What they say. Good people do nothing. Do nothing.

When Good People Stay Quiet

SPEAKER_07

The world keeps turn. A dark strange place. Good folks a yearn for a saving grave. A ship has sailed they say on a troubled tide. But what do you do today with nowhere to hide? Questions I've been asking all my writing to watch your move. Just what about is it? You're willing to try to do evil prevails when good just sleep. Light sometimes fade. While the darkness creeps. What are you doing now? Tell me, tell me, how will you take a violence? For losing screams, a broken sound. Lost in bed dreams on high low ground. They say it's all lost, cause a losing fight. But what about your applause? For what is the right? Only thing it takes for shadows to prevail is a crowd of quiet parts. Scroll inside, then turn away. We just watch it stay. On this falling ground, it's standing. You already know it's true if you breathe and you're required to end so with your life for every minute that you're given.

SPEAKER_01

Hey baby. Sunrise, creeping on a sleeping town.

TDS Tantrums And Media Loops

SPEAKER_01

Another Tuesday, another frown. They wake up mad at everything. What kind of news do they even bring? TDS tantrum, delusion syndrome. Yeah, it's got them, they ain't got no home.

SPEAKER_06

In reality, it's just that seem. Living in a permanent bedding.

SPEAKER_07

Facts are just suggestions to their mind. A different truth for all mankind. They twist and turn, they shout and scream.

SPEAKER_01

Lost inside their own little schema. Sigram delusion syndrome. In reality, it's just that Living in a permanent factory. OD outrage are constant well. Like a broken record, a forgotten trail. Can't find it. They see what they wanna see. No truth, no honesty. Just laugh, shouting me tweets, living life on repeat. Always complainin', never explainin'. That's the news from a food. They just can't leave it alone. They just get sick, sick, sick. That logic, it just ain't fair. Lost in a days of despair. Why you so mad? Why you so low?

SPEAKER_06

Let's keep screaming the love. TDS Tantrum Delusion Syndrome. Yeah, that's the news from home. TDS Tantrum Delusion Syndrome.

SPEAKER_04

TDS Tantrum Delusion Syndrome.

SPEAKER_07

It ain't all sweet songs by the fire. Warm hands, soft words, pretty choirs.

Tough Love Versus Soft Lies

SPEAKER_07

If I cut out the thorns from the story, I'd be dressing up a gravest glory. This is tough love gospel. Not just camp fashion. If I sand down the edges, I turn truth into a lie, reality or delusion. I can't serve both sides. I'm not here just for the choir. I'm here where the hurt hearts hide. Yeah. Some pages bleed red in the margins. Hard lines, hard calls, hard bargains. If I skip over stones for your comfort, then your house gets washed in the flood water. This is tough, love gospel. Not just campfire, shine. If I sand down the edges, I turn truth into a lie. Reality or delusion. I can't serve both sides. I'm not here just for the choir. I'm here where the hurt hearts hide. Oh Do you wanna dream or do you want a mirror? Do you want a drop or do you want it clearer? If the truth cuts deep, let it cut through. Feel better, scar that heel than a sweet lie in your ear. This ain't cotton candy truth. Ain't a campfire, sing a long rhyme. You can't sell sweet dreams while the house burns behind. If it never cuts deep, it will sugar all along. If you skip the hard pages, you just rewrote the song. This is tough love gospel, not rainbows on a wire. If you had the hard words, you're just fanning the fire. I won't preach delusion just to make it sound lighter. If I only sue the choir, I'm a singer, not a fighter. You can hum all the feel-good lines while your neighbor breaks inside. Quote hope like a slogan and look away from the crime. But a bandage on a bullet woo is a pretty little lie. If the truth never offends us, do we ever even try? This is tough. Not rainbows on a wire. If you hide the hard work, you're just standing the fire. I won't preach delusion. Just to make it sound lighter. If I only sued the choir, I'm a singer, not a fighter. I'd rather lose that crowd and sell them painted grace. I'd rather stand alone and smile and dodge the weight. Don't ask for easy comfort, then curse the honest cause. Love that never warns you and leave you more than love. This is tough love, gospel. Not brain balls on the wire. If you hide the hard word, you're just fanning the fire. I won't preach delusion just to make it sound lighter. If I only sued the choir, I'm a singer, not a fighter. Oh, if I dress up the danger, I'm a liar.

unknown

Not a rider.

SPEAKER_07

Tough love. The Bible isn't just rainbows and lollipops. Singing combire around the campfire. You

Reality Check And Final Call

SPEAKER_07

cannot ignore the harsh reality drops. The pedal such makes you a liar. Reality versus delusion. Speaking not just to the choir. This, that, and in all things transpire.
