CTP (S3E153) Bring Back Standards
Exploring more of the fascinating intersection of Activism, Community Engagement, Faith / Religion, Human Nature, Politics, Social Issues, and beyond - all in Biblical perspective
We start with a blunt “standards” rant sparked by kids in pajamas at the movie theater and end up in a bigger argument about parenting, boundaries, and what we normalize in public. Then we pivot into a satire song that turns into a serious warning about clickbait, TLDR culture, and why details and context still matter.
• why “let kids be kids” can still require clear public standards
• the difference between helicopter parenting and being hands off
• tough love as teaching right and wrong without excuses
• how entitlement grows when rules never apply
• concerns about adult content pushed on kids and what “age appropriate” should mean
• “Grumpy Old Man’s TV Time” as satire with serious undertones
• media literacy basics: facts, names, dates, context, and reading past headlines
• health realities and the need for rest and self care

A Short Story: A Lasting Legacy? book Trailer
Welcome And Schedule Context
SPEAKER_01Hello, welcome to another episode of Pristitutionalist Podcast. I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard. That's L-E-N-A-R-D. It looks French. It's not, it's Leonard without an O. Thank you for tuning in. As Graham Norton used to say on his show. Let's get on with the show. Hello everyone. Welcome to Christitutionalist Podcast first ever video exclusives week. What do I mean by that? Well, these that are airing on I'm looking down at my calendar. Monday, May the 18th through Friday, May the 22nd, and probably another one as a Saturday monologue show. Previously run video exclusive on May the 23rd will be just that. Previously run strictly to my video channels. Felt that you all across the 40-ish audio platforms and potentially reading via transcript need to hear these. So when a date pops up, don't pay a whole lot of attention to it because you know it could have been from a month, could have been a week ago, could have been a month ago, could have been a quarter, three months ago, even two quarters, six months ago that it originally aired as a video explosion. At any rate, follow-up to books slash authors week, May 2026. The third time I ran a books slash. Well, second time I did a books slash authors week. Second time already this year, back in October 2025, I ran three weeks in a row of that. So if you haven't checked that out yet, on Monday, there was Chris Jote. On Tuesday, what day was that? Tuesday, that would have been the 12th. We had Michael Clausen talking about high bread, high bread publishing. Again, you recording the dog on mouth and brain don't want to cooperate. Wednesday, I had an Angel Giacomo. If I'm saying that right, I always get it wrong. The Jackson McKenzie Chronicle series discussion. Thursday, uh we had Grace after relapse. And on Friday, what day was that? I'm actually recording this brief interrow on Thursday, May the 14th. So tomorrow this will have passed, of course, by the time you hear it. May the 15th, Friday will be North of Broken and Forever Home with Holly B. Gutlinger. Story about a dog. Great story. Great talk. This week, video exclusives. I don't have handry the various topics. So without further ado, let's just get one on, shall we? Hi gang. I wanna start off by saying apologies. I hope I won't forget things.
A Grumpy Rant With A Point
SPEAKER_01This is gonna kinda be a grumpy old man screaming at clouds as an ongoing running gag on ex-oblate type episode. Video exclusive for March, I think, number 10 for March of 2026, video exclusive 10. Wax standards. I'm gonna write myself on note. Wax standards, so I can remember the title just correctly. But my health issues are kicking up. Rainy, dreary day today. My knees from the old hockey injuries injuries acting up. My health issues acting up after this. I'm gonna be crawling back in bed mentally and physically. Just crain. And for those of you who don't know, I'm I had leukemia cancer in 2010 killing. So I know what it's like to actually feel like you're dying. And I'm like, uh oh boy. Anyway, lack standards. I just got that. Oh, and at the end of this, uh again, the ex ongoing gang, grumpy old man screams at clouds and you know that get off my one kind of thing. So at the end of this, I will tack on a pseudo song that I did, Grumpy Old Man's TV time, right? It's about yelling at the T all these same stupid jokes, all these same super hands. Oh, why do I ever even turn this stupid thing on? To see the same old crap. But I've always been a big proponent of letting kids be kids. But at the same time, we are where we are now because we keep allowing
Pajamas In Public And Social Norms
SPEAKER_01standards to become more and more loosening of models and values and principles and standards and expected norms in our society. I came from the show. Now, it's bad enough when I see adults in sweatpants or pajamas at the theater that could meet you know one clothes went out in public. Now today, since Super Mario came up, there were a bunch of kids in pajamas. And my initial reaction was let kids be kids. Just let them further PJ. It's okay. But after further review, fly on the plate. No, it's not okay. It's not okay. Why is it not okay? We have to, yes, let kids be kids and like spare the rods spoil the child. I'm not talking that doesn't for you morons. Uh excuse allow beating of children. For the morons who try to claim, oh you gotta just always pamper kids. No, that's not right either. It's bad to be a helicopter parent. It's also bad to be complete hands-off and oh, I'm not their parent, I'm their friend. No, you need to be an adult, you need to be their parent. You have to teach them right and wrong and the ways of the world, and that there are standards and values and expected norms in society, and putting on clothes to be out in public is one of those things. So I'm sorry. In this case, no! We are making excuses. No, no, why no? Because we're teaching them bad things. Yes, every child is unique and special in their way. Yes. But this, oh, you're super unique and there's never been and never will be anyone like you on this planet ever before and will be said. The rules don't apply to you. No, that's the wrong thing to be teaching kids. There are times you have to be engaged in top love. And putting on clothes, I'm sorry to go whether it's to the movie theater or just an especially girls for adults. Just a quick run to the convenience store. I'll be right back now. How many times are comedian stuff we are joking about late night of the mouth? Hold on clothes to be in public. Like the airport. The continued lacking of standards just gets worse and worse and worse if we keep making excuses for it and allowing it. So that's the bottom line what this is about. Yes. The schools peddling porn on children. All kinds of people seem to be fine with that. Right?
Tough Love Parenting Versus Entitlement
SPEAKER_01Let's say no, let kids be kids. There's plenty of times later when they grow up to explore adult subjects when they're adults. And in this case, we're teaching them the wrong thing. Oh, rules. You're an entitled brat, and rules do not apply to you in any way, shape, or form. That has to be a message. That has to be a lesson they learned. Oh, it's that shut up, little brat. I'm sorry. Life isn't fair. You need to learn that. Now I realize what I just said was very harsh. Tough love harsh. And I don't want to be that guy. I don't. But sadly, I'm one of the few people willing to give the tough love lesson and say these things while everyone else is making excuses and society goes down the tubes. Every generation it gets worse and worse and worse because we keep allowing it and making excuses for it. And with idea, I'm gonna stop it. I need to go lay down and take an app for my health. I'll end up in the hospital. So I need
Culture, Schools, And Adult Content
SPEAKER_01to do that, but I wanted to record this. And yes. Next uh Grok Imagine 1.0. I will show the grumpy old man animations made with Grok that I used Grok to create for a pseudo music system, what they call kind of a video key that goes with the music. So the grok imagery and then the grumpy old man's TV time, but very serious undertones in that song too. Thank you all. Take care. God bless. Thoughts and prayers to others who are having health issues out there like I have. Get your rest. Get your vitamins and supplements and minerals. Take care of yourself.
SPEAKER_00Not this dumb ad again! She shut up! I've seen this a million times! What is this? You're getting slaughtered out there! Culprit, stop the Bible already! Just a fetick! Not this dumb ad again! She shut up! I've seen this a million times!
SPEAKER_05Grumpy old man in the same old chair. Remolding my fist like I'm going somewhere. Same loud jingle every five damn minutes. Shoutin' at a box like anybody's in it. What? Do I eat Talking and tellin' things I don't need?
SPEAKER_06Do I like
Grumpy Old Man TV Time Skit
SPEAKER_06yelling? Like that. Why do I even have this? Oh drama, everybody's got the stay. Another card is another cooking start.
SPEAKER_08I know every twist before they don't need that, like
Health Update And Taking Rest
SPEAKER_08that's what I'm doing.
SPEAKER_02Scrolling fast, the touching down a second flat. Tit top brains with a span can't handle that head last breed. Death never breath down with the lazy never reached this L D Flex. Too lazy to check, deep context, matter, don't lie. Ignorance when the wild matter matters, you got to do it. Even not get myself saying, damn, this is long, man. But I was talking about all the devils in the details. In December 2025.
Details Matter And TLDR Culture
SPEAKER_02I'm here with a lazy hot that shit a fire. Details matter, context matters, legality too. If you gloss over the DOS language, that's um yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Mass hoes. Mass hoes, masses of the asses, clueless and proud. Fallin' for the dumbing down, screaming loud. Fake news, very sack of 10 paragraphs. Why you're swiping up, thinking you're in form with your receipt. You want the bullet with the 50-second clip. But reality, don't come inconvenient little strips. But you better stay dumb and practice what you preach. This ain't hate, this is tough, love, great, no tracer. I made this song to be the mirror, not to be a racer. Even this episode, I kept a short on purpose. So you have no excuse for still some more purpose. Matter of fact, matter, context, I'd dice them at your own risk. Stay lost in the night. I'm software from the board and make some welfare lies. If you won't read the mind, bring a joy to surprise. You skip the truth and swallow every lot of greedy. Lazy to see reality over delusion. That's the key. I ain't here to follow the cry. I'm here with a hurt and the lazy. Details matter. Every single line, if you won't read or listen, stay blind. Yeah. TLDR. Too long didn't read. But the song's over now. Still too long for some of y'all. I bet. CTP, this is member 2025. TLDR episode. Called it first. That was the song. Cause the crisis only got worse. And like clickbait everywhere, tune out lines. Observe. Take the time. Absurd. Choose reality over delusion. Details matter. Read the damn thing.
SPEAKER_08Flash on the screen. Red phone, big screen. Another cheap trail for an empty fee. A quote in a box. Clip from a stream. Cut out the doubts. I want more than a headline. Give me names, give me dates, give me time. Tell me who, tell me how, tell me why. Facts matter, details matter. Draw the line between reality and the line. Clickbait everywhere. Headlines off deceive. Details matter, context matters. Reality and truth matter. Than just transcribing what someone claims. Need it beyond today's Twitter attention spans. Crowd in a frame. Look, they all agree. But you trimmed every word that didn't fit the name. History is a map, not a mood today. You can't bend every road just to win the page. I want more than a headline. Give me names, give me dates, give me time. Tell me who, tell me how, tell me why. Facts matter, details matter. Draw the line between reality and the lie. Stop just topping what's the claim. Ask the question, name the game. Context cuts through the confusion. Collide through the delusion Clickbait everywhere, headlines off deceiver. Details matter, context matters, reality versus delusion. Give me names, give me dates, give me time, tell me who, tell me how, tell me why. Facts matter, details matter, write it clear, make the story match the sky. Another cheap thrill for an empty social media fee. Quote in a box, clipped from a stream. Cut out the doubts, sell in a dream. I want more than a headline. Give me names, give me dates, give me time. Tell me who, tell me how, tell me why. Facts matter, details matter. Draw the line between reality and the lie. Reality over delusion Facts over spin errors. Stop adding to the confusion. Clickbait everywhere, headlines often deceiving. Facts matter, details matter, context matters, reality and truth matters, history matters. There's more to real journalism than just transcribing what someone claims. Crowd and a frame. Look, they all agree. But you trimmed every word that didn't fit the mean. Not a mood today. You can't bend every road just to win the page. I want more than a headline. Give me names, give me dates, give me time. Tell me who, tell me how, tell me why. Facts matter, details matter. Draw the line between reality and the lie. Reality over spin, it's got to start to win. Stop, just type in what they claim. Ask the question, name the game. Context cuts through the confusion. Cold light through the delusion Clickbait everywhere, headlines off deceiving. Facts matter, the details matter, context matters, reality versus delusions. History matters more to real journalism Than just transcribing someone's clay. Facts matter, details matter. Write it clear, make the story match the sky. Make the story match the sky. Speak well, like this play. The truth has gotta matter with both you and me.
