Hello and welcome to Focus on your own family. My name is Stephanie, and I am the strong willed child.
I was born and raised in Western Washington, born into fundamental evangelicalism and subjected to the cruel parenting styles encouraged by Dr. James Dobson. My goal with this podcast is to bring awareness to these abusive practices and give others an opportunity to heal loudly. Nothing will change until we start talking. It is said that we stand on the shoulders of giants, but I looked around and did not see any. It was then that I realized we are the giants. I looked forward to hearing and providing you a safe space to share your stories.
