Speaker 1:

You're listening to the sugar cane podcast, where you get all of crypto's tastiest tips. Here's your host, sheldon Trotman and Rudy Dogum.

Speaker 2:

Hey Sheldon, what is Magic? Link.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so when you're actually using an on chain wallet, what you typically think of is like a drop down MetaMass experience, but Magic Link allows us to be able to sign in with sign in and actually have an address on chain without having to think about the actual address itself. The thing that is that, like in the sugar cane product, when you sign up, you use your email and behind the scenes, we attach what's called an EOA, so basically like an externally owned address, which is an address that's connected to your email. So when you take actions within the application, you're still interacting with the blockchain, but you actually have this address. That's doing all the heavy lifting behind the scenes.

Speaker 2:

Nice. So it's kind of like bringing that Web 2 experience of logging in with your email and then you just experience sugar cane normally like any other trading platform, but everything in the background is handled on the blockchain and also owned by me because I own that email.

Speaker 1:

Yep. So basically you're still fully self custodial, you have full ownership of your assets, you have the full control of your assets and actually even you're still signing transactions behind the scenes. So in a sense, you actually still are doing the MetaMass actions, but you actually don't feel that within the actual mobile application because, like, it's hidden and handled by Magic Link.

Speaker 2:

Was that easy to?

Speaker 1:

integrate. It's pretty slick, like within the actual mobile app. It's pretty cool because as you're typing in your email and you click, let's say, signed in or signed up, it automatically pings your email to actually enter, to get a, give you a code. You take that code, you come back to the app and you enter that code in the mobile app and that is Magic Link behind the scenes. So like you actually are feeling it just by the interaction of like getting a code and entering that code in, but you don't actually have to think about it, which is kind of the cool part. So it's pretty slick.

Speaker 2:

And then you can also send your assets out to a different wallet address, if you wanted to.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so the other cool thing about Sure-Cane is that, like, while you've had your email and that's the initial signer on your account, you can always add additional signers. Let's say, you have MetaMass on your phone and you actually want to not use the Magic Link integration. You can actually use MetaMass, for example, but from our perspective, if you want to use your email login, if you want to sign in with any like other social platform, like Facebook or Twitter, we're also going to allow you to do that as well. So, yeah, you can not think about the address, but still be able to sign in with whatever existing login methods you have.

Speaker 2:

That makes it super convenient. It's like finally getting that user experience that we've been needing for a long time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's like Web 2 meets Web 3. Yeah, man.

Speaker 2:

So I guess it was a good experience building with Magic Link and they're docks good which you recommend other developers that are just trying to build a new app to use it. Is it user friendly enough for developers?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, magic Link's been out for years now. They're one of the older kind of wallet as a service providers they call it and so they're really clean with the docks. It's really slick to integrate. Since we use mobile apps, we actually have different framework for using, rather than existing website platform, and so their actual product is easy to integrate on mobile as well. So that's also a pretty big exciting thing for us.

Speaker 2:

Nice. Well, I'm excited to start using ShuriCain and also using ShuriCain using Magic Link, without even knowing that I'm using Magic Link to make my PLA wallet.

Speaker 1:

That's a fun part about all this.

Speaker 2:

It's so slick so easy. You have no idea it's happening, but it's there and you're in full custody of it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Self-custody, but also still having the clean experience. So yeah, that's that, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Thank you and I'm excited for seeing you in use. Thank you, sheldon, sounds good 混.
