Anticipatory Set: Justin points out that the word “teenager” came into heavy use in discussions of Rebel Without a Cause. They discuss a short history of the teen in film as the 1950s saw teens as a market for film while filmmakers sought to exploit teen rebellion in film. Good thing that stopped happening.
Getting Schooled: In the span of one day from late Easter evening into Easter Monday, two teens would die and one would be critically wounded. Oh and also daddy’s are creepily kissed, James Dean takes off his shirt, kids go to school then come home with a brutal sex change operation, puppies are shot, a gun is hidden under a pillow, lipstick is vigorously rubbed off lips, a chickie run occurs, a boyfriend dies but hours later a new one is kissed, serial killer murder basements in abandoned mansions, and school insignias are violated.
Exit Ticket: In honor of Ronnie declaring that Plato is a serial killer, the boys take a quiz to find what serial killer they are.
