This is a weekly podcast for drummers looking for new ideas on how they can maintain persistence to succeed in their musical goals. My guests and I tell stories and discuss ideas on ways to get through technical, physical and mental barriers.
I spent the last 10 years as a psychiatric provider and enjoy having deep conversations with people to help them find their motivation to get them where they want to be. I returned to drumming in 2022 with a commitment to listen, practice, and learn. I can't get over how many times I say I can't get over how much talent there is in Asheville, NC. Logan Jayne is one of the reasons. He's a thoughtful dude that grew up in Asheville and has been a first call drummer, probably since he started playing. He pays tribute to his family and friends for support and inspiration. Logan can be seen playing with Magenta Sunshine and Chilltonic in Asheville and elsewhere when on tour. This episode was recorded October 11, 2023, very soon after his mentor and friend, Joey K, passed away. He honors Joey and processes the grief in a beautiful and fitting way as he continues creating music. Look out for the new album by Magenta Sunshine coming soon!
