Human Energy was founded to share a new scientific & cosmic story introducing the noosphere as a source of meaning for future generations in our globalizing world.
Today we face the unprecedented challenges of rapid social change and new technologies which, together with the scientific picture of an aimless universe, have created a crisis of orientation. Human Energy was founded by scientists, scholars, artists, and storytellers to highlight the causal conditions to our challenges and provide solutions for current and future generations. We articulate these solutions through the "Third Story" worldview (https://humanenergy.io/the-three-stories-of-the-universe/) with focus on the emerging noosphere.
We are beginning to visualize the noosphere’s formation; study its potential future scenarios as humanity takes more and more control of its future course; and explore how human beings connecting across the world may realize themselves socially and individually in its development.

The N2 2024: The Noosphere & the Global South conference explored the intersection of technology, society, and the noosphere—the sphere of human thought and collective consciousness. Hosted by Human Energy and UM6P, this year’s event brought together leading thinkers, visionaries, and innovators to discuss solutions to the challenges posed by the techno-social era. Through engaging presentations and collaborative dialogue, N2 2024 aims to inspire actionable insights and transformative change.

Phenomenon and Thought
When we compare brains in the living world, we see the development of a capacity to escape reality. A bird can migrate by processing only contextual information. A monkey can solve geometric problems and make tools. A human child also lives in an immediate context, but when language bursts forth around the age of three, the child can refer to things and events that are distant in time and space. It is only around the 6th-8th year, when the prefrontal neurons involved in anticipation connect with the limbic neurons involved in memory, that the child becomes capable of telling a story—the representation of an entity that is impossible to perceive, such as God, life after death, or the First Crusade. Thanks to its linguistic capacity for dual articulation, the child can tell other people what he thinks, and these others may think differently. Thus, a world of representations is created, detached from perceptible phenomena. This verbal world acts on the brain and creates a noetic world that we inhabit for our greatest happiness (art) or for our greatest misfortune (fanaticism).

The N2 Conference looks to deepen our present understanding and future vision for the noosphere, the sphere of human consciousness and mental activity especially in regard to its influence on the biosphere and in relation to evolution.
N2 is an international, interdisciplinary conference bringing together leading scientists, scholars from across the disciplines, thought leaders, creative artists, and all those who are interested in the meaning and possibility of the noosphere for our collective future.
