ABOUT ME
Hey! I'm Clee, the founder/CVO of Build Your Vision LLC, a media & coaching company that trains busy, growth-minded visionaries in self-leadership and personal growth.
My mission is to eradicate internal confusion in my generation and to build the "Vision Economy". A balanced supply and demand ecosystem in which each individual's accomplished vision is the platform for another vision to be actualized.
I post content like skits, videos, interviews, and blog articles to accomplish the goal of creating a world of more visionaries taking action and less dreamers sitting on the sidelines.
Creating Clarity Through Action
Speaker 1Hey, what's up. What's up everybody? This is the Boozy Vision Podcast. I am Cleave the Visionary. Please forgive if this audio quality sounds lower than usual. It's because it is while recording this episode my interface broke, so I'm actually recording this into my just like headphone microphone, so that's why it sounds like this. But I hope you're gonna enjoy this episode, because we are talking about how to avoid confusion and stagnation, from the perspective of a quote that I share on this episode that honestly, when I heard it.
Speaker 1It completely changed my perspective on the build your vision journey the vision building journey, however you want to call it and just life in general, and I think it could be very profound and helpful for you as well. And in this episode we're going to actually be addressing it in two parts. So the first part will kind of be me expounding on the quote and what it means for me and how it could do the same thing for you possibly, and the second part is actually me having a conversation with someone who was on the call, a member of Visionpreneur School, which is my community for visionaries who want to make impact and income with their ideas, insights and influence. If you're not in there, I recommend it.
Speaker 1The link will be in the description, but Danielle is really cool and down to earth and I think she really just brings a practicality and vulnerability to this topic that I think you will resonate with on a very deep level. So those are the two parts. You'll kind of hear a segue between those two, but this can really really change how we avoid the state of confusion and stagnation in our vision building journey, because if you're not intentional about it, it's going to happen and you could get stuck and I don't want that for you and I didn't want that for me, and this helped me, so I'm sharing it with you. I hope you enjoy.
Speaker 2You're listening to the Build your Vision podcast, a podcast about building a life and business you are proud of as a Christian coach, consultant or educational content creator. I'm Cleetha Visionary, your host and CVO Chief Visionary Officer, and in each episode, this and in each episode, this show is designed to help you get a little more clear, because you can't build or create while you're confused.
Speaker 1Let's go. What's keeping you from starting? What's keeping you from doing the thing? I was recently doing an exercise at my job and it was an assessment on clarity, which of course I love because clarity is my job. And it was an assessment on clarity, which of course I love because clarity is my thing. And I asked the question towards the end of the assessment that I thought, because it was so simple, was quite profound. And the question was, after all that we have talked about, oh, what are your dreams, what's your vision, what's your mission? Why does it matter to you? Why does it matter to you? The question it poses is what's stopping you? And I submit to you that answer is confusion. Not confused about what you want to do, not confused about how you want to do it, not confused about the vision you have for what you want to exist in this world. About the vision you have for what you want to exist in this world, you're confused, from my experience, about where should.
Speaker 2I start.
Speaker 1What should I do next? How do I create what I see in my head? That is what's stopping most of us visionaries, because we can see the thing. But how do we get to that thing? I'm ill-equipped. I don't have the skills, I don't have the team, I don't have the manpower, I don't have the capital. What do I do?
Speaker 1I love the quote by myron golden. I've never forgot it, ever since the first time I heard it. I don don't remember where I heard it, how I heard it or where I saw it, but I wrote it down and it says confusion is oftentimes manifested as a lack of clarity, and a lack of clarity is the result of not mastering the level you are on right now. Right now, I want to repeat that last phrase and a lack of clarity is the result of not mastering the level you are on right now. What's keeping us from mastering the level we are on right now is the question I want to pose to you. And maybe a better question is how do we master the level we are on right now? So I'm going to draw from a teaching that is from Genesis, chapter one and two, and in the beginning we know the creation story. Most of us that are probably listening to this that god created the heavens and the earth and he created all these different things. He created creation the, the sky, the lamb, the sea. He created creatures the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, the animals of the land and he created, created creators, human beings, male and female.
Speaker 1Adam In Genesis when God creates man, he gives man a standard operating procedure of how to do life the three main pillars that he introduced to Adam in Genesis 1 and 2. That gave him the blueprint of how to live a fulfilling and pleasing and satisfying life. The first thing he told him to do was to be fruitful and to multiply, that is, to create. Second thing he told him to do is to tend to the garden and to name the animals. That was his contribution. And the last thing he said was it is not good for man to be alone. So he gave him a companion. Her name was Eve. Well, her name was later Eve. Those are the three containers of existence creation, contribution and connection.
Speaker 1And whenever we as human beings are not doing one of those things, we are not fully fulfilled. We're not completely fulfilled and we are also not improving and getting better, aka forming mastery. See, if you want to master the level that you are presently on, you have to do these three things continuously you have to create, you have to contribute and you have to connect at your present level. That's why I've named this session, this talk, at least for right now clarity through creation or clarity through creating. You will never think your way into clarity Now. Yes, thinking is important. It's actually one of the most important tasks that many people never do. But you also have to take action off of those thoughts. You have to create. But let's be real here. Let's be real here.
Speaker 1We have to ask ourselves the question what do I create? I don't know what to create. Man, I keep hearing people say you got to create content, you got to do all this stuff. What do I create? What do I contribute? Who do I connect with? Well, let's answer these questions. What do I create? That's your content. Let's answer these questions. What do I create? That's your content. You create what you know how to create right now. What do I contribute? That's your offer. You contribute what you know how to contribute right now. Who do I connect with? That's your network. You connect with who you know to connect with right now.
Speaker 1See, we often overcomplicate these things, including myself for a very long time, until I realized that I had value to offer, exactly where I was, I thought that I wasn't good enough. I thought that no one would want to hear about what I had because I wasn't where I wanted to be. Yet I thought no one would see me as valuable because I didn't think what I had was valuable. I thought I didn't have anything to create because everything was already created that I wanted to create and what I wanted to create. I didn't know how to create, but I didn't realize what I did know how to create was valuable. Can you identify with this at all? See, we have the tendency to try to build a house before we know how to lay a brick.
Speaker 1What do you know how to make right now? What do you know how to create right now? Is it a PowerPoint presentation? Is it an article? Is it a live video? No-transcript? Mastery is when you can do something without thinking about it. It comes so easy to you that you don't have to put conscious thought into it. You can do it on autopilot. That is mastery, master what you know how to create right now. What do you contribute? Oh, I don't have an offer. I have nothing to offer yet. What do you know how to contribute right now? Is it that you know how to make logos? Is it that you know how to tutor students? Is it that you know how to bake cookies? Is it that you know how to launch podcasts? Is it that you know how to make YouTube thumbnails? Is it that you know how to write resumes? Is it that you know how to make YouTube thumbnails? Is it that you know how to write resumes? Is it that you know how to plant and garden flowers or plants or how to tend to gardens? Is it that you know how to cook vegan food? Is it that you know how to shop for cheap? Is it that you know how to scour the internet for coupons? Is it that you know how to make book covers? It doesn't matter. What do you know how to do right now that is aligned with your calling? See, you may not be able to do what you envision, yet. You may not have the skill set, you may not have the discipline, you may not have become the person who can do that, but you have become the person that could do something. Who do I connect with. Who do you know right now?
Speaker 1I was just on a call the other day and a woman was sharing that she didn't know how to find people in her niche because her niche was so narrow and she was working with a very small demo slash psychographic of people. And she was like I've done my research, I can't really find this existing anywhere and sometimes, as a visionary, you're the one that has to lay the blueprint. But I asked her this question. I said well, who do you know? That falls into the category of the people you're trying to serve, because I'm sure she has to know somebody. How else would she know the need? Maybe it was just herself that had the need, but usually birds of a feather, the rest, flock together. Sure, she knows somebody. And she said well, yeah, yeah, I know two people. One has this problem and the other has this problem, and they both fall into the category of the people I'm trying to serve. I said great, start there. Connect with them, and I'm sure they also know two people each. Connect with them.
Speaker 1See, I like to apply what I call the 10x rule. I want you to imagine an auditorium, an auditorium full of seats, hundreds of them, maybe even thousands, but the auditorium is empty Except for those two people. Empty except for those two people. See, the 10X rule says I want you to 10X, where you presently are mentally. So if you have two people who show up to your auditorium, imagine there's 20. If you have 20 people show up, imagine there's 200. And if you have 200 showing up in your auditorium, you're doing pretty dang good. But imagine there's 2000. How would you show up? Imagine there's 200. And if you have 200 showing up in your auditorium, you're doing pretty dang good. But imagine there's 2000. How would you show up if there were 200 people in your room? That's how you show up for the 20. How would you show up for the 20 people that are in your room? 20 people. Imagine 20 people sitting at a long presentation table, 20 seats full, just to hear what you have to say about a certain topic that you know is valuable to them. How would you come? I'm pretty sure you would come correct. That's how we have to show up every single time, every single week, every single month creating, contributing and connecting according to the 10x rule. That's how you master the level you are presently at, right now.
Speaker 1Zechariah 4.10 says Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. We love to quote that verse, but lots of times small beginnings do get despised. Quite often You've been trying to do the thing. You've been posting, you've been connecting, you've been sending out emails and text messages and you feel like it's not working. Well, you're right, it's not. But that doesn't mean that you stop. It means that you improve. If there's one person coming, if there's two people, if there's three people, 10x it and contribute, connect, create. Like that 10x is in your room, master it, continue to do the thing until you don't have to think about it anymore. And if we can create, contribute and connect 10x, we will master where we presently are and become the person who can fulfill the vision at the next level with clarity.
Speaker 3I think that's kind of what I for me, even just in my this season of my life that I have. I had I didn't put it in like those words or I didn't get it kind of in that way but I started to realize I've been speaking to me. Thank me for your neediness, thank me for your weakness, thank me that you can't do it without. So it's okay. I'm actually am like weak in this area or here, or trying to do this thing, and let me thank god because this is really where his power is, like my strength the three key points that I pointed out because the begs the question well, how do I master the level I'm at right now?
Speaker 1And those three points are just creation, contribution and connection where you presently are. So you've got to create where you are, you've got to contribute where you are and you've got to connect where you are. And that can be tough sometimes because we're not where we want to be.
Speaker 3And I swear to say that when you just said that, I heard vulnerability, that's what I just felt like, wow, you actually have to be open and honest, that hot, transparent where you are to walk through and get through that next step.
Speaker 1And when it comes to us visionaries who are looking to help people whether that is help people in their walk with Christ christ, whether that is help people with their personal development, whether it's help people to launch their business or grow their business, whatever it is we have an idea of what we want to present to the world, and sometimes it can be frustrating when we aren't at the level that we want to be presenting at yet, but that comes as a part of the process where you have to master the level you are yet. So create what you know how to create. Contribute what you know how to contribute.
Speaker 3Connect with who you know who to connect with that's so good, that's just wait, that's good, right there. That's the point I gotta say because, man, this is just all good, because trying to create something at a level you're not at, I feel like not only will people not be able to connect because it's not authentic, but it's also could be so wrong because you never even been to that level and you're trying to operate in it and it's exactly you can lead people wrong until you, until you like.
Speaker 1Oh, I actually been here I actually understand it 100, 100 and that's part of the reason why lots of coaches are getting bad reps these days, because lots of them are trying to sell something or teach something or counsel people on something that they have not actually done or haven't actually experienced or been through. But where you can add the most value to people is with what you do. You know what you can contribute, and that has to do with a lot of the strongholds that the enemy tries to put up in our minds oh, this isn't valuable. Why would anybody even want this? You need to be here before you even start talking about this.
Speaker 3You need to do all that, yeah and it's and honestly, you know how it kind of feels like the enemy can't get in front of you. He get behind you, try to push you, or vice versa. So I feel like even today, like I'm, like I'm on work, but I'll thank god, like even the job that I have, where I'm able to be at work but still work on the things he needs me to. So I'm already trying to prep my mind. Okay, daniel, like it's, really like you. I have like all the ingredients. I just need to put the cake together at this point.
Speaker 3But I feel like I have sat back for so long. I've sat and observed and watch other people, and even to the point where it where it kept me from not doing what I need to do, because I'm like, ooh, I don't want to be like them. Ooh, I see things, and so my mind is okay. Until you master this, then you can present your product, then you can come out with the podcast. But if you don't want to be one of them, people, I feel like that's in the way how the enemy has played on my mind. But what you're saying is no, master, where you at, and I have been looked at. I'm just looking at where I'm at. No, I just need to get to the next level, not like where I'm at. Was it a song or something? Maybe it was in worship. No, I think it's. Maybe Dr V just saying what you would maybe easy to you is hard to somebody else, and you know how to get that. It could be simply helping somebody with prayers.
Speaker 3Oh okay, I know that, but I'm looking at it Like it's not that valuable to me, you know not that it's not valuable, but it's just I think it was just on the in the MMA like that video just kind of shifted my perspective. No, it's still value to somebody else, just because you've mastered it. And so I haven't been looking at that, I haven't been looking at myself like that or with anything, with launching anything. I just been like no, I need to get to the next level.
Speaker 3So I've been like at a standstill, no, I don't, don't put it together yet, no, don't talk it yet, like yep that just was freeing kind of way, as you were just saying that, because I feel like that's how the enemy you've been playing on my mind. It's not even that I know that I have it, but it's just. Yeah, I haven't looked at my the level I'm at now 100.
Speaker 1Yeah, man, that's something that that plagued me for a long time, and the sad part is I've gone through multiple cycles of that. I said, oh, nobody's gonna do this, blah blah, and two people bought my, my, my high ticket course and I was like, oh my gosh, people actually want to. And then I still did it again. Oh, no one would do this. And someone bought that. And then I've also failed. I've also tried to operate at levels that I wasn't at yet. I tried to make a continuity program. It failed. And that's part of the iteration of what Visionpreneur School is now from me failing and I'm building skills that will help me get to the next level. And here's the thing we see people like Myron Golden or Omar El-Takori, who have relatively quickly built YouTube channels, podcasts that are doing very well and very successful. But what we don't see is that Myron Golden was doing Bible studies for 13 years and was a senior pastor of multiple churches for over 30 years before he started growing an audience on YouTube. He had mastered effective communication. He had mastered breaking down the Bible in digestible ways. He had mastered making offers as a salesman because he sold insurance. For how many decades we're seeing the final result of a stack of mastery thinking that we can operate at that level when we are just getting started on our journey and we spend cycles and years and years feeling confused, overwhelmed and like we're coming short because we're trying to operate with a lack of clarity, because we are not mastered. The level we are at right now and that's why I so encourage people to this is the spot that I'm in right now.
Speaker 1Get the podcast launched. Get the podcast published. Start creating episodes. Develop the mastery of speaking now. Develop the mastery of creating topics now create. Develop the mastery of making a web page now. Develop the mastery of making a lead magnet now. Develop the mastery of making an offer now, because it takes time and even how.
Speaker 3You just said that like I mean too, you know, like, and I know it's not sometimes in my mind I'm like, wait, but I have done a lot of things in private too as well, and it's even I know I can probably convince myself that nobody would tune in, but I say not, it's basically fine. Some of my friends is like, hey, what's up with. We need to get back on that prayer line or I've. I've done so many bible studies and connect groups and small groups and women and they like, when we get together and I'm like, huh, I've been kind of like running from it. I've done this. Like this is on the back end, like even the prayer book that I wrote.
Speaker 3I'm like, yeah, like I'm trying to be so. I don't even know if it's like ability winning, because I'm like it's just for us, the girls, and it was, it was 15 of us. Like I put our pictures in it and then my mom had came and she picked it up and she was like, damn, what's this? I was like, oh, this for the. This was my prayer group. That like when god told me to do and this and that, and it was in this lady at my job. She was like can I buy this? Like I want to do this with me and my like friends. I'm like nah, I was like not yet, like maybe I will, but it's just. And I was like I feel like to the point where I'm like so full with things, like I'm like busting and overflowing, not even in a good way. It's like this needs to come out, like things need to really be launched, like books and these just the just doing the podcast, like getting the community back together. If we go to the girls, like we go to conferences together, I always organize that, all those things. So it's like I already know, even if the enemy would try to make me think that nobody would tune in, I already know that it's people really waiting for me to tune in. And I'm not saying that even like I'm not even trying to smile, because this, wow, is really not even about me at this point.
Speaker 3And I remember one time we're doing a podcast, when I had the podcast and I stopped, I slowed down a little bit and I remember somebody was like, when we get an example, so let me. And I kind of it was in my mom, so she was one of them and I snapped on her because I was like already stressed of them. I'm like, mom, leave me alone, it'll come out when it come out. And then the Lord was like, so you're going to make my people big? And I like sat there and felt so, oh my gosh, it's really not about me, it's just the words that God has put inside of me and they need it, and it's you're getting away that for all different reasons. So it's just even now, as you're saying, do it now. It's so many people that's at my level I know I can connect with right now.
The Power of Immediate Contribution
Speaker 3So I don't know why I'm like it's just the mindset of continually getting past my own insecurities. Mom. Okay, here we go. Gotta be back vulnerable again. But I have learned with leading groups and stuff that people connect with that vulnerability like they do. So I'm definitely receiving everything that you're saying and just kind of even reminding me of, because I know this, I know I need to do this. I've like said these cycles I've had to do a year after year and I'm like I don't want to, I don't want to get the girls. I don't, I didn't want to, but it's just because I knew I would have to be vulnerable. It's not even that I didn't want to do it to help them. It's just like I gotta be the one. But let's just be wrestling with God so I hope you enjoyed that episode.
Speaker 1I I know I was able to relate with Danielle in so many ways and I think you would be able to as well. Look, we have those three areas that we have to lean into Creation, contribution and connection. On the level we are at presently, god has us on a journey and we are able to contribute, we are able to create, we are able to connect wherever. We are Not waiting for the next moment to get to the next level or whatever it is Now. Of course, we don't need to do everything right now. For everything there is a season, right, but we can do with what we do have right in front of us.
Speaker 1That doesn't mean that we have to sit on the sidelines and not contribute to what God has given us today, and that's okay if it doesn't look like what we thought it was going to look like, because ultimately, he is in control. So we're going to work like it's up to us and pray like it's up to God. I hope this was helpful to you. I'll see you in the next episode. As always, keep building your vision every single day. Peace you.
