Brand & New is a podcast produced by the International Trademark Association (INTA) and focused on innovation. Published monthly, each episode consists of an open dialogue with experts, visionaries, and influential people from all over the world in order to learn more about the evolution of the legal and intellectual property ecosystem, its concepts, and all actual or potential consequences. Doing Well by Doing Good: Inspiration, Innovation and Social Commitment in Brands (with Michael Haddad and David Lossignol, initially posted in May 2019)
Today’s episode is about how to make the world a better place, the values to promote -integrity, sustainability- and the role played by brands now and… in the future. This ambitious topic is discussed with two inspirational individuals, who have followed exceptional paths. Michael Haddad is a professional athlete, adventurer, social entrepreneur, and environmental advocate (assigned by the United Nations as UN Development Program Climate Change Champion. Despite an accident that left him paralyzed during his childhood, and thanks to his strong determination and positive attitude, Michael has achieved over the years three world records in walking and climbing, and has been honored by Lebanon authorities, academia, and multiple entities around the world. He is deeply involved in social responsibility projects to enhance the life of people. David Lossignol is the Head of Pharma Legal Brand Protection, based in Basel, Switzerland. Novartis is one of the Top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world. David has spent the last 18 years working in IP in this industry, and now serves as INTA 2019 President. Among the objectives of his mission, he has set up a presidential task force focused on brands for a better society.
Every two weeks, on Tuesday, Brand & New gives the floor to inspiring individuals, with a 360-degree vision, to help brand owners, intellectual property lawyers, and marketing and finance professionals (and beyond!) stay curious and agile in an ever-evolving business environment.
