The Train Man and His Wife, Winetta Williams, have an interview with the Bryan family who wrote a Christian children book called Trusting Timothy, a story about cheating. This book is very inspiring and it is based on three verses in the Bible. Luke 8 verse 17, which is, For nothing is secret, that shall not be revealed, nor anything hidden that shall not be known and come to light. Proverbs 10 verse 9 saying, Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. And Proverbs 11 verse 3 saying, the integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perverseness of unfaithful will destroy them. The book is dedicated to their late grandmother, Elmita Bryant, who was a strong influence in their life and encouraged them to attend church and commit their lives to the Lord. To their late father, Bobby Bryant Sr., who was a strong and loving father. To their mother, Mary, who helped Bobby II believe he could accomplish anything. To an awesome sister Ebony, whose personality brings joy to so many people around her. And to Bobby's wife, Charita, who is the Proverbs 31 wife and mother of three amazing kids, whose passion, commitment, and dedication to the family are immeasurable. And now here is the train man with his wife Juetta Williams and Bobby the Second, Joseph and Ava Bryant.
SPEAKER_04Um she can switch him up to her and then um increase my curiosity to want to get uh the book gets known the Lord better. And it uh it brought me Christ. You know, I uh I remember spending um summers with my grandmother attending her attending her church. Uh she would have me in the children's choir. Um I could still remember some of the um that thing in the choir to this day. So um it's definitely positive experiments, um it's something that again I'm I'm very thankful for, and um yes, um I'm I'm proud um uh Christian today.
SPEAKER_01Now, what uh what prompted you to write about trusting Timothy? What was uh the name Timothy in your mind when you wrote the book?
SPEAKER_04Well, um the Bible uh talked about uh Timothy having a strong relationship with his grandmother. Um and as you said, as you you know, you mentioned um uh my grandmother being a strong reason for me becoming a Christian. Uh Timothy was one of the names that came to mind, and actually at times she would refer to me as a as a Timothy, uh, because that was that relationship. And so uh Timothy to me, Timothy always stood. Uh and as a family, we had always talked about uh writing the children's books for a while. And um it was inspired, but uh uh based on that we we came together and and bought the story to life.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay, all right, all right. And uh now you're you're uh you're the second or third of Bobby I'm the second, I'm the dad yeah.
SPEAKER_04My first my uh Bobby Senior passed away uh years ago, but yeah, I'm the second, and then we have the uh refer to be there, he's uh Bobby Brian third.
SPEAKER_01Now, you mentioned here about your proper 31 wife. Um is she there?
SPEAKER_04No, um uh she's not here. I mean she's not here presently, but yeah, with everything she does, uh we do, she of course she's a supportive wife and mother, so she's been uh supporting us behind the scenes. Uh she prefers to be behind the scenes for a lot of things we do. Oh, okay. She's uh she she supported supported us uh with everything else, but as far as uh writing the book, it was uh us for it, myself, obviously the third team with Joseph.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay, okay. Now uh how much of a um audience or I would say um the effect on in terms of your book being spread out across the nation. How how much of a uh positive, let's say positive uh welcome towards your book?
unknownUm I think we've had um some pretty uh positive feedback. Uh we were blessed.
SPEAKER_04Uh God bless us is win uh award. We won the Christ little board for uh for our book.
SPEAKER_02Oh we're very uh happy to receive. Ohgestulations. That's great.

SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, keep up. Three more stories. We need more biblical stories for our youth to hear.
SPEAKER_04Oh, thank you. That is definitely our goal. We would love to we were hoping we're hoping that this is the first of many books, so we're hoping we just we're just getting started and hoping uh the Lord will bless us and guide us to three more books.
SPEAKER_01Right. Amen. Amen. Amen. Now, in terms of the scriptures that you have in here, what what uh scripture like Luke 8, 17, Proverbs 9 and 10, and Proverbs 11 and 3, those scriptures were they drawn to you in terms of writing this book?
SPEAKER_04Uh I like to think so. You know, I I like to think um because we're family uh uh praise and you know each and every day.
unknownUm we we ask the God to guide our each and every step, each and every day. So yeah, I but I believe yes, the guide uh led us to those scriptures. Um just as I believe um I believe in our heart to write write this book.
SPEAKER_04Um so yes, I believe uh we were led to those scriptures.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Okay, okay. Now you said your mu your grandmother was in a strong influence in your life in terms of uh getting getting you to the Sunday school. What what church do you attend in in California?
SPEAKER_04Uh right now we uh attend um uh Patriot. It was formerly uh called uh under living family church, but now uh renamed Patriot. Oh, okay, okay, okay, all right, all right.
SPEAKER_01And um I like I like the way you uh tell the story of Timothy in the the new school, and all of a sudden he met new friends which don't even mean too much about Timothy, and all they want to do is just I guess get in his business. How do that particular scene affect many of the uh youth of the day in terms of their peers?
SPEAKER_04Well, uh I believe uh definitely um I think we all agree, uh peer pressure can can be can be tough.

SPEAKER_04Um I think um unfortunately our many youth can be led down the wrong way based on uh what their peers are saying. Um so I one of the reasons we wrote the book is is we were hoping that this uh we'll give uh children uh base to turn to and remember that if they depend on the word of God, this will help you.
SPEAKER_03Um our story is basically this can help uh adults get um their child or relationships.
unknownWe're trying to teach that the word can you can find a solution to whatever problem or situation you're going through in the word of God. I don't care what it is.
SPEAKER_04So again, school, work, relationships, church, uh wherever you are, you can always find a solution to your problem in the word of God. That's the solution.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. All right. Let me ask you, um, you you talked about finding solutions, you know, to you know, in uh families, you know, and also in friendships. Um is there any particular scriptures that you you know kind of um you know help your children to understand um how to speak up for themselves instead of you know just trying to go with you know what everybody else is saying and doing, you know. A lot of times kids they get in the fear pressure because they're afraid of being uh looked at as being different. You know what I mean? We have to teach them that they also have to be able to be proud, you know. They also have the courage to proudly, you know, um praise the Lord, even if it's in front of people they feel it's gonna try to work, you know, against them. You get what I'm saying? Or they may not wanna want to see them doing the right thing. They uh is there any particular you know, scripture that you help your teenage children you know to um to work through that, you know, and how to um you know achieve their goals in spite of the naysayers, you know, of our faith in Jesus. You know.
SPEAKER_04Uh it this is uh Joseph uh one of uh my favorite verses is uh Okay, hi Joseph.
unknownHey, how's it going?
SPEAKER_04Uh one of uh my favorite verses is uh Psalm 236, and it says uh surely give us the mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I'll do a thing with the Lord. And uh the reason why that's my favorite verse is because the kind of just it uh just serves as a good reminder that as long as uh you're uh living for God and listening to him and obeying him, that he's just gonna make sure that uh your lots prosperous to drives. So um anything that you have steps for you, anything that you want to uh succeed in, he'll just make sure you can drive down your verse to um I like to read every day and just uh try to live by because I feel script.
SPEAKER_02That's great. Yeah, and probably stand up for it too because sometimes people can, you know, misunderstand you know what your morals are because I think that's a conflict with some children now, they're too afraid to be seen as you know being that you know, unique person. Yeah, sometimes it takes the you know that um advocate for Christ as well. Instead of, you know, like a lot of kids I know they they they want to be accepted, you know. But as you said, God will make you victorious if you're willing to stick you know, you're willing to stick with him and keep our faith, you know. And just as you said, just keep working at it. Keep the faith. God always works out things for us, you know, for our good.
SPEAKER_04There's like uh I figured uh basketball player Steph Curry, you know. Talking about you need to have that faith in God, that's just like uh everything you need to live muscle, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Do you remember any quotes from Steph Curry?
SPEAKER_04Uh one of my favorite ones I mean is uh Success is not an accident, success is absolutely.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely.
SPEAKER_04That's kind of one of my favorite ones because uh it sounds kind of basic at first. It's like, yeah, of course, uh it's not accidents to succeed, but when you really break it down, like yeah, if you succeed it's not an accident success, you need God to help you succeed. Then it kind of just puts it a hundred percent of like, yeah, if you need to succeed, you need God, you need to work hard, so everybody wants success, but when you're really what it takes to succeed, that's kind of things that like you realize, yeah, you need to make sure that uh the guys at the center of your left want succeed. And that's kind of just why it's like one of my favorites. It's like, yeah, everyone wants to succeed, but you have to know how to succeed if you really want to get there, so okay.
SPEAKER_02No, that's good. That's great. It's good to have reminders. I was saying it's always good to keep those in mind, you know. To help to help you stay on, you know, the right path.
SPEAKER_01Now, um by reading uh going through your book uh in terms have you picked up anything in terms of uh uh allowing your book to be in the grade school, high school knowledge uh uh in uh Christian schools as well as uh uh anything anything that is uh a church school. Have what type of response have you guys received from any of the schools? Um whether it's uh Christian or faith-based school, have we what type of response did you have with them?
SPEAKER_04Uh actually uh right now we haven't had uh a lot of response. I think uh we're still in the process of still trying to um get our book out there, um, introduce our uh people trying to book, so uh we're just trying to figure out the best way to uh get that done.
SPEAKER_03Um we're actually we're um just uh um funny that you had today. We just scheduled uh to talk at uh a local church uh coming up last minute.
SPEAKER_04Um but we're really just uh uh getting it going. We're trying we're trying to uh introduce people people to our.
SPEAKER_01And uh what what uh type of subjects will you want to pursue in terms of uh allowing the little children or the as you have uh high school, grade school, high school people, what type of subject do you want to lean toward in giving them the information of God's word?
SPEAKER_04Uh I think um like in uh like in our current story, um, you know, uh I think sports is uh uh definitely a popular thing. Um so we um we thought that was definitely a good idea to put in our book. Um I think um uh maybe you mentioned um maybe talking about examples of uh peer pressure, I think um a big one to that. Um maybe talking about what pressure well, I mean pressure whether you're the best, or you're like keeping up to your right or love, but like maybe someone's doing uh uh maybe don't look better than you think. So you you may be tempted to take shortcuts um to improve your positions, and so uh topics like that, we want to make sure that uh we're really uh opponent in and uh reminding uh kids uh how to be successful, successful the right way.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay, okay. So um okay. It's a uh it's a good book. So we know that I got this uh trusting Timothy off of Amazon. Any other avenues or any other uh places that we can find your book?
SPEAKER_04Uh so yes, uh, like you said, the book can be purchased on Amazon.

SPEAKER_02Oh, official. Oh, alright. Okay. Okay, I got you. That's great.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, that's great. Now it uh when you you was growing up, I know that uh we all were growing up and had a strong mama and daddy and all that. When you were growing up, what type of uh challenges, I'd say, did you have when you when you went to school? Did you play ball? Did you uh had a good academic uh grade point average, uh all that? How how were you in school and your family and your and you know?
SPEAKER_04Uh is that question uh anyone particular interesting?
SPEAKER_01Anyone particular.
SPEAKER_04Okay, uh so uh uh we we were all old school now. The three of us were homeschooled, so you know we have to uh face as many challenges as you might have to face in public school, but I mean of course there's always uh the kind of same stuff you're trying to uh be the best you can be, trying to get the best grade possible. Um there as odds as I like uh if you go on to see uh SC. Uh so I try to uh get the best credit possible. So kind of uh similar shows that you would uh if I had the uh school for that's great.
SPEAKER_02So are you saying that you guys were with homeschool groups where you would kind of meet up, you know, and um there were different academic, you know, enrichment programs that you were, you know involved in, or forget what I'm saying, like my children were in a charter high school, and we had um homeschool students who would come too, you know. And they would join in with different, you know, like science programs, they were the homeschool children with uh you heard of junior achievement, the business program?
SPEAKER_04So uh yes, it was it was we were uh part of a group and uh we were able to uh do stuff like go on field trips and uh stuff like that.
SPEAKER_03Uh learned uh uh we were uh homeschooled by our mom, so she would uh teach all the subjects.
unknownUh she would help us with maths, she would help us with history and science.
SPEAKER_04So uh she was our teacher uh time with us.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay, okay. And during the homeschool period, were you and and and brother and sister uh um relate to other friends uh that were maybe uh went to uh regular school in terms of their your relationship with them, or was it pretty much uh family oriented? Uh so it was mostly family oriented, but uh uh friends and uh people who did not were uh mainly homeschooled like us.
SPEAKER_04Um we mainly uh met people uh through uh stuff like the field trip uh other homeschool events so they uh mostly were uh big homeschool like us.
SPEAKER_03Oh okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so um through the homeschool classes, we uh work with a work with a local charter school and then keep number two. And so through that charter school, they would um have uh different uh classes of they would have a maybe a speech uh class. Speech given class. They would include a multiple homeschool comedy as a kid. Um they would do a um uh a language class that's talking talk about um as a teacher they would have uh be learning with with other kids. Um or they would uh do music lessons or music with other kids. Um so that was like we're incorporated with with the homeschool classes. Yeah, we we partnered up in the church.
SPEAKER_02So they got a chance to also um have music lessons.

SPEAKER_02So they also got a chance to um have music lessons as well.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. We were able to do music. They have a sports league thing they able to participate in. So yes.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. All right. That sounds good. Um let's see. Do you guys deal with, say, um like social, you know, gatherings that that the youth may have, such as a prom, you know, uh dances, or was that included in your homeschooling um experience, or how was um this day the NS um Hello School day?
SPEAKER_04I'm sorry?
SPEAKER_02I said nice to meet you.
SPEAKER_04Oh, nice to meet you too. Um during our school they actually did provide um dances like um um homecoming and then uh prom. And um they they did have um other activities like for the seniors and like throughout high school club, I remember. Um like Bunko nominated um it's gonna be room different different things.
SPEAKER_02So You said what's called Bunkham? It was called it was called a bunkum.
SPEAKER_04Yes, it was like um Bunko night. Um where you uh play games like uh and um show with other kids.
SPEAKER_02Oh the teenagers they get a chance to socialize and play games.
SPEAKER_04Um to be involved in.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so that was like uh friendly competition. That's yeah. Great, that's good.
SPEAKER_04They they did uh pro provide different events, so um and like uh mentioned there were uh there have been chillships as well, so we got uh involved um with other kids and we got to do kind of like the hands-on learning, so that that was cool comparative. Well I remember um one time we uh we made uh pizza, so uh that was cool parents, and then we uh got to see how Kenny was made. So that's right. That was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_02All right. Did it inspire you to do any uh entrepreneurship or any uh you know the families to go into entrepreneurship?
SPEAKER_04Um actually growing up uh our parents actually uh did um inspire us for entrepreneurship. Um I was actually re-encouraged to uh be creative um or give gave us. Right. And you know, kind of branch how we and create with new. So uh for me, for example, um I like um coding and web design, so um I'm gonna be able to do it. Oh, sorry?
SPEAKER_02Actually, that's great.

SPEAKER_02And don't don't sell yourself short.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. Um uh I'm working on my uh web design business, so um I want to do that, and um I'm also a part of this book, um, writing my own uh book as well. So and then um Joseph and I have our own um YouTube channel where we film comedy videos. So you do comedy, so be sure if you want if we uh create our our own YouTube channel where we can provide that same uh levity and laughter for other people.
SPEAKER_02So you guys have a lot of God giving talents. Yeah, I know you let's name your channel. Maybe I can um tell I have um well we have grandchildren who are teenagers now, and I don't know, they play a lot of video games. So they may check out you guys' comedy channel.

SPEAKER_04Um each each word uh starts with a capital letter, laughing out loud, but the loud has three U's. So laughing out loud.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04No spaces.
SPEAKER_02No spaces. No spaces, okay.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Now, Ava, uh when you were growing up as a uh young woman, uh did you per se had any challenges as a young girl? Peer pressures and all that have you on your on your women's side.
SPEAKER_02Could you give a scripture that helped you to you know to kind of you know achieve your working the uh the pressure of you know, some maybe a classmate who had different uh moral is there any particular scripture that helped you to fight peer pressure, Ava?
SPEAKER_04Um well my favorite verse is um 2 Corinthians 5 7, we walk by faith, not by sight. Right and I like that because it emphasizes that the faith in Christ um should be what we focus on, not the physical circumstances in life that could be trying to challenge us and bring us down. So I I like that as a reminder that no matter what um the um it seems like in life, uh whether it seems like you have a disadvantage or things are going away, you can always um have faith in Jesus Christ and uh trust that he'll be through any situation.
SPEAKER_02Even if it looks like you're not gonna make it, God always makes a way. Of course. As long as we keep, you know, staying the course.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, definitely. So um and it also helped uh because we were family who uh who uh read the Bible every day, and um that was a good people. So um I feel like um that daily uh reminder um in the Bible um would help every day to uh encourage me um for specific subjects um that may have been harder uh in certain days. Um for uh schoolmates wasn't um right there because um I was studying laws for my brother, so um we really emphasized um being of one accord um as Christians and um encouraging each other with what we were doing. So um we weren't trying to tear each other down or um you know there is there's always that like uh competition that uh students have so that was our fun, but um we uh prioritized uh the word of God and um try to open each other uh with what we were going through.
SPEAKER_02So that's great. People that love and respect for your brothers and uh sisters.
SPEAKER_01Yes, definitely. I like to close um uh uh with each one of you uh guys to give a last greeting or message to a podcast audience that it is going around the world, really not only uh North America, but there's some places that are probably really like Singapore and uh Mexico. I just want you and Japan, yeah. I just want you guys to uh uh give a last greeting. Each each one of you have a last reading to say so on um uh anything com concerning the word of God, concerning the book, anything that you guys want to mention.
SPEAKER_04Yes, thank you for for that. Uh just a five final second dad. And so uh yes, I just want to uh strongly emphasize that again, no matter what uh we face in this world, I we all face challenges. Um some problems at one time or another. Uh but again I just want to emphasize that we we truly believe we're trying to get across that again, you can you can find an answer and solution to problems in the word of God.
unknownUm so I just want to encourage people to um to really dig in. Um find that those scriptures that you can always uh lean lean on and get you whatever you're going through. My favorite personal favorite scripture is Proverbs 3, 5 and 6.
SPEAKER_04Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding and all your weaknesses.
SPEAKER_01All right, all right, praise God. Uh okay.
SPEAKER_04Uh I I do I I I gave uh the step curve report. I do like to uh give quotes that I uh following with uh one of other favorite quotes by uh Kevin Durant. Okay, hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Hard work beats talent.
SPEAKER_04When talent fails to work hard.
SPEAKER_01Talent fails to work hard. That's a good statement, man.
SPEAKER_04And the reason I think is uh like sometimes in life uh you can uh feel like other people are better than you on something. Uh they're more skilled, more gifted, they're smarter than you. Uh they just uh they have any advantage that they can uh succeed more than you, but while I like they quote it, it's chosen that no matter uh how ungifted you are, like what you lack, hard work can uh make up for what you lack. So if you're uh uh if you're too short to play basketball, if that's let's say if you work hard enough you can still make it. Right uh if you're not smart enough to uh be good at math, if you work hard enough you can't be. That's true as much as possible because like anything that people say you can't succeed at, you can prove it wrong by working harder and once again, trusting God.
SPEAKER_02So foremost, working hard. All right, all right. Sometimes, you know, we're parents, we're infinites, and we have two daughters, and sometimes raising them, I would say, well it's it's gonna take hard work, even if some some of their classmates look like they got it all together and uh don't let that fool you. Only with hard work and trusting in the Lord.
SPEAKER_01Definitely. Miss Ava, you got any enjoying Miss Ava, do you have any last words?
SPEAKER_04Well, um I just uh want to encourage everyone that uh again, um no matter what you're going through, that uh the Lord will get you through it. Um also um it's important to read our Bible every day and praise the Lord because um we can't do um anything without the Lord. Um uh we know that we're we're imperfect, but um the Lord is perfect and people get through. So we we shouldn't think that there's um anything that we can't go to the Lord to to uh to uh get us through um what we need to get through. And um I just I just I just I'm discomforted in that because uh we don't have to uh be perfect, we don't have to get it all right, but we know that the Lord will always uh be perfect and always get it right. So we know that we can go to him for anything.
SPEAKER_02Oh through our through our weaknesses, Christ always has us. He can carry us through anything. Of course to succeed in spite of our weaknesses for lack of a better word or whatever. He definitely stresses us, you know. His will and his might and his love, most of all his love.
SPEAKER_04Definitely. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Also, um I I want to apologize for the uh the mistake for the YouTube channel. Um it it is um a space after uh each word, so it's uh lasting, space, out, space, and then loud um for you. So I apologize for that space.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay, that's uh okay, okay. I I understand. Yeah, I guess we got suddenly settled about your channel.
