After inspecting the Cattledogs and King Browns team's major MBC player chances yesterday, the PodBoffins today cast their eye over the Wranglers, Shooters & Crocs. Plus... some huge breaking news regarding a Wrangler who may not be touring.

SPEAKER_04

Hello, hello, hello, be the ballers. How are we all fellas? I hope you're very well. Guess what? Twenty-nine sleeps to go. That's all we've got to go. Twenty-nine more sleeps. Bags should be packed. Golf clubs should be rattling, and you should be on that course with your mates or even by yourself right now. In pursuit of that wonderful award that is the Mum's Bum Cup, the green jacket. It could be yours. Hello, Laurie. How are you? Yeah, I'm great to be here this morning. I've got some news, some breaking news though that we've got to get to very shortly. I know, we'll come straight back to you. Mario, what's been happening?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'm okay, mate, not too bad. I'm not feeling the best this morning.

SPEAKER_03

Hahaha. Let me guess you stuffed up your job interview yesterday as a lollipop man, didn't you?

SPEAKER_02

Well, it wasn't my fault, mate. Nobody told me, nobody taught me. You know, I wasn't fully trained as you're supposed to be in these things.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no, what'd you do, Mario?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I had this stop go and it says stop on one side and go on the other.

SPEAKER_05

Brain surge and stuff that. Well done, Mario. At least you got that worked out without any training.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, mate, it wasn't about that. It was I was there and I nearly got about ten kids run over, mate. It was it was ugly, and uh thankfully I threw myself down in front of the moving vehicle.

SPEAKER_04

Like was it a truck or something like that, Mario? How about a van? Like those Aussie post guys guys, they can they can move a fair bit.

SPEAKER_05

Uh what was it, Mario? You threw yourself down, you're looking or care.

SPEAKER_02

Well, mate, it was an Uber cyclist. He was moving though, I'm telling you, he was at least in turtle foot gear, and he was coming down with a full sack of food, mate. And I turned the sign to the kids and said go. I did not see him, and uh he's coming to Uber either. I said go. The kids start to go across the road.

SPEAKER_03

Hang on, hang on, hang on. So you had the sign facing the kids. Yes, mate, that's what you're supposed to do. Go, stop, face the kids. No, it's not you, idiot. You imbezzle, Mario. Stop and go is for the traffic. That's what you uh fuck me.

SPEAKER_02

What were you thinking? Well, I wasn't, mate. I was under pressure, you know. I wanted I had to get a certain amount of kids, and then I pushed them through and I sent them there, and the next thing you know, there's chips and nuggets everywhere, mate. The little Uber rider. Oh, the poor fella. He has gone straight over me because I threw myself in front of the front wheel, which means his pitch forked him, mate, over onto the road. But luckily he had the backpack on full of the chips and the nuggets, which flew everywhere, and the kids loved it, mate. They were cheering, they were eating, uh, but I got sacked.

SPEAKER_04

Well, it's not surprising, really, after that sort of performance. There's always more jobs out there for you, Mario. Uh uh keep looking. Uh, and hopefully you get that EV thing sorted out too with the tuber.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, mate, I know, but I'm now plugging cords into each other, so I have an extension cord now that goes for a 1.7 kilometres. Uh so anybody within that distance when there's a uh tuber, a taxi driver, an Uber, whatever you need, mate. I'm your man. Give me a call. You know where I live.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, just so I've got this in right in my own head here, Mario. So it was an Uber eats pushbike rider, is that what you're saying? So it wasn't an Uber motorbike rider, because he would have had a passenger not food.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, mate, sorry, I'm all flustered. You know that. I was flustered yesterday too, and it was him. And uh they had lots of nuggets and chips. He was taking them to somewhere for, you know, lunch, uh something like that afternoon tea. I don't know, mate. And uh so they went in the air and so they come down, they sort of rained it down on the children's, and the children's all loved it and got into it. Well, except for one little boy, he was a vegan, he told me, so he couldn't eat it. So he started crying.

SPEAKER_04

He'd be crying too if I was a vegan. Vegans can eat potatoes though, can't they? No, toes are a meat. Unless they were fish toes.

SPEAKER_02

But fish don't have toes, mate.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but they say humans evolve from fish. Yeah, but that brings us back to the point that toys are actually meat.

SPEAKER_03

Oh shit, how did we get here from potatoes?

SPEAKER_04

Alright, alright, alright, that's enough. It's time to move on, boys, and let's get into the show. We have got this news alert, this breaking news that's just come down the line, and I believe uh Laurie, you're the one who's gonna feed it to us? No, no, no, I'm the one who got the news, but I've passed it on because it's Wrangler news, and this could blow the mum's bum cup apart. Huge stuff. The THC Premiership may not be as one sided as everybody thinks right now. That's how big this news is. Boom. I guess we better head straight over to you, Sandy. Break it to us. We're all waiting. All we smiles on our faces too looking round the table except for you. Well yeah, it's not good news for the Wranglers. Well potentially not good news. It's not over yet and it's not done, but hot on the heels of the news yesterday of Joshua and Fiona expecting their baby, congratulations once again from everybody here. We have found out that one of their top hopes in the Mum's Bum Cup next of Wynneath and his lovely wife Rosie are expecting a baby around the June long weekend. Big Wynne Nath may not be able to tour.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, baby, I can't believe it. Oh, thank you, Lord, thank you, God, I've been playing so hard.

SPEAKER_04

What for Nathan Rosie to have a baby?

SPEAKER_02

No, mate, for their wranglers to to hit the brick wall to suffer some little things, you know, like a pulled hemie or something. Nothing, mind you. I don't wish nothing bad on nobody, no time ever. But you know, a little pulled hemie or a twisted ankle or something, because they're a long way in front of the wranglers, but they're missing the walk, and now they could be missing next to win ninth, which would leave them with only six in the Mum's Bum Cup. That's a lot of other points people are gonna get. Maybe not the Wranglers.

SPEAKER_04

Well that is a very pertinent point indeed, and huge news that is. Uh, first of all, congratulations, Nathan Rosie. That's wonderful. Uh but that is not good at all.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I think it's the best news I've heard all year. You go and have that baby Rosie on that long weekend and you make sure you're there, Nathan. That is your job responsibility as a husband and father. You do not leave the bedside, don't even think about the tour. I can't believe you're even thinking about it. Ah, come on now, the tour's a big thing, and he's one of the key components of this Wrangler's team.

SPEAKER_04

He says I will be there provided the baby isn't born or coming just before the weekend. So it's all fingers and tours crossed down in the Wrangler camp. Well, sideshow Sam, he would be sitting back now sweating. Uh he's thinking, or who have I got? We might as well jump straight into the team's overview of this be the ball Mum's Bum Cup tour coming and look at the Wranglers team now and the squad they have going into the Mum's Bum Cup. As has already been noted, Wok will not be there. Warwick Farnfeller, one of the greatest golfers who's never won the Green Jacket on the tour, he will not be there in Adelaide playing golf for the Wranglers this coming at all. So that if next to when Nate goes out of that as well, uh and let's you know just say that he is out for now, that leaves Craig's Carnival. He's got to be a chance, 28.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, mate, he's too old now. He's been around a long time, you know. He hasn't won since bit of all seven. He's I can't I can't see Carnival winning this one.

SPEAKER_04

I've got to agree with Mario there. He's uh he is looking a bit old and fatigued, shall we say. So Carnival, he's he's a 50-50 at absolute best. I'd have him more 70-30 against. Right, so we've got Carnival. We're gonna you put a line through him. Robbo's Pocket Rocket, he he could produce, he has worn the yellow jacket in the past, he's been in the final group a couple of times. Yeah, but he's been on about six thousand tours, and he's only made the top last, you know, top 16 about three or four times. He was there last year, though, don't forget about that. So Robo's pocket rocket is a chance. Yeah, again, I can maybe have it 60-40 this time again. So that's two that we don't think can win.

SPEAKER_03

Side show Sam. There's the one. That's the man right there. Runner up twice in the last four years. He can win this. He's off 49. He is the leader of this team, and uh when it comes time to produce under pressure, Sidecho Sam's the man that's gonna be taken out of this equation.

SPEAKER_04

Well, uh you can't do that illegally or anything like that, but so we're gonna give him a big tick. So uh Saicho Sam is their main chance at the moment. Uh that's only one out of four or five. Gold digger Gaverby, sixty, highwire will sixty. Can either of those boys produce? I don't think Highwire Will's had a game of golf since last tour, so I wouldn't be picking him in sixty. Might double it, and he might be a chance, so I'm gonna go no heavy red line through that one. Gold digger Gaverby has been fabulous in all the other tournaments for the Wranglers and a great team man, but I'm not sure that Gaverby's been playing much golf either. You know, it's very difficult to practice your putting when you're working in a mine.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, mate, that's that's exactly right. Where are you gonna putt, you know, and you've got the little lights on the hats, and and what if you it's only about the same size light as the ball, so it's very hard to kill and then the putting surface is all right, Mario, we get it, we get it.

SPEAKER_04

So Goldigger Gaverby, we're gonna say no as well. Water tank Matt, well, he did have a finger removed for uh his golf grip a couple of years ago, if we remember correctly, and he missed last year through illness on the eve of the tour.

SPEAKER_03

Had nothing at all to do with the King Browns, let me just say that right now. Well, we weren't saying anything. Yeah, that's a little bit we're with King Brown town.

SPEAKER_04

Uh yeah, nothing to do with us. Alright, so Water Tank Matt, he is off 43. That's not a bad handicap for him, so he has got to be a chance, I think. Uh there is talk he's thinking about removing another finger on his other hand for this coming tour. Oh shit, if he goes to ten tours, he'll be going handless, fingerless. Yeah. Well, that is, yeah, if you remove one every tour. Thankfully last year that was one of the side effects. He didn't have to remove a finger. Uh, so he may take another one off. Next to when Nath we've spoken about, this is what this is all about. So off 33, he was a big chance. He was one of their you know, lamp lighters that the Wranglers were pinning their hopes on, like a donkey at uh Mexican birthday party. Uh and I think you hit them with a stick, don't you? Yeah, I've seen it done, mate. There's lollies and everything like the nuggets and chips. All right, boys, boys, boys. So that leaves Smittywin, who's off 30. Can Smitty Win win it?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, geez, you're bloody hanging on to uh high hopes here, aren't you? It's clutching at straws. Uh Smittywin, it's only gonna be his second tour. He's out 15 shots on last year, but he needs about 50, I believe. I think the Wranglers are absolutely stuffed. Sorry, I shouldn't be laughing so hard.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's not very sportsmanlike, but I've got to say the shooters don't mind this at all either.

SPEAKER_02

It's looking pretty good. Yeah, mate, the cattle dogs I'll be happy because we got our chances. Um but uh I tell you, that might that opens up the whole thing.

SPEAKER_04

Indeed it does, Mario, and that's what we get to. The Tri Harder Cup Premiership, they've got a stranglehold on it now with about a 600-point lead going into a couple of events. So let's say it gets whittled away before we get to the tour to about 500 points. Uh so they're gonna be going in Wranglers with 500 points. There are nearly 4,000 points on offer over the Mum's Bum Cup weekend, and the Mum's Bum Cup points are all tripled, so it's big, big points. Uh they could be run down conceivably if this was to occur.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but it hasn't happened yet.

SPEAKER_04

That's the thing you've all got to remember.

SPEAKER_03

This is a possibility, uh not a probability at this stage. I don't know. If the baby's due around the long weekend, you know, a week either side of that, there's a very big chance he's not gonna be there.

SPEAKER_02

Does anybody know where they live? You know, maybe uh we could induce the baby a little bit, Rosie. Can you help us out here at the cattle dogs, please?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the shooters are happy to come over and rub your feet, do whatever, Rosie, to get that baby on the way.

SPEAKER_05

You just leave out there, Rosie. Ignore this. You're the wife of a wrangler, and he is needed on tour.

SPEAKER_04

His team needs him badly. Well, that is, we said it was big news, breaking news. If the Wrangler's going with just the six golfers into the Mum's Bum Cup, oh it's a whole different ball game. There you have it. You heard it here first on Pob Boffin's Daily. Massive.

SPEAKER_01

So with some yin gang it plays like shit and never shuts up.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I tell you what, just letting that news settle a bit, that is that is big news. What's wrong with some of these blokes? These younger guys in particular, having babies around tour time. It's not like they they change a bloody weekend each year, carnivals are June long weekend. Can't they get their shagging schedule correct, these fellas? Well, we have had a few over the years, haven't we, that uh have missed Ballroom Ben springs to mind, uh a few others over the years. Of course it's all part of life and everything, but you but you're right. Uh yeah, there should be no shagging in August. I've worked out done the math somewhere around there. Uh well no no shagging for babies in August, if you know what I'm saying. Come on, boys, get your act together.

SPEAKER_03

What are you worried about, folks? Seriously. Doesn't worry you, it's good for the shooters.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I know, but uh you know, I want to play teams of full strength too, you know, I want to beat 'em.

SPEAKER_03

You're done and dead last.

SPEAKER_04

What hope have the shooters got anywhere? Oh, don't you worry about that, my friend. We are fighters and we will fight to the death. Benzabe has got them up there now in Shooterville or wherever their new home base is. I'm sure we'll find Yes, we will find out about that in the coming days and weeks when we go to see them uh getting prepared in their new digs for their tilt at glory. Yeah, well the skippers have just got to put a bit of a stranglehold on the snakes, if you know what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_03

What's the King Brown's got to do with this? No, no, and the other ones, you know, we've got to get our shagging right, our schedule right.

SPEAKER_02

I for one am more happy to practice if you like to practice. I'm not practising with you. What are you talking about, Murray? I wasn't talking about you either, Matt. I was just talking about practice. I'd like to practice.

SPEAKER_05

You'd like to do it once, Mario, let's be honest.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, alright, we're getting off track here. So the Wranglers are in disarray, perhaps, potentially, but at the moment it is looking like they are not home and hose like everyone thought. So we've already talked about the King Browns, they've got four or five live chances. The Cattle Dogs, they've got four live chances. The Wranglers looking at it, they may be down to one real fed income live chance. So the Muns Mum Cup is gonna be massive this year, massive as far as winning the THC Premiership is concerned. So with the Cattle Dogs and the King Browns looking like pushing aside the Wranglers for now. So they're one-two. Let's have a look at the other teams. Let's go and have a look at the shooters, shall we, right now, and see what they look like. Yeah, it's a great idea. I'm pumped up, ready to go. Uh come later Ronstey, he's back on tour. The last tour he made, Ronnie, was uh Adelaide again. He must really love the city of Churches. I don't know. It's got a real kindred spirit thing going on with Ronnie there, and uh he's bringing in uh his son, which is wonderful to have here early Harry. So we've got those two, the Come Later Ronstee and Here Early Harry. They're gonna be there leading the McComstee family into battle for the shooters. And I I love the fact that uh Benzaber put them together. I think that's lovely. Yeah, it is. It's just really heartwarming stuff for you. Nice, Benny. Alright, so we've got those two. Come later Ronsy's off 34. Uh do we think he's a chance? It's hard to say. No, uh we haven't seen him in action in the Mum's Bum Cup under the pressure that he's brought on by the Mum's Bum Cup. Uh we haven't seen him in action for seven years now. So he he might have been getting a lot of practice in him. He might be, you know, seven years into bet sort of thing, where he he's really just aiming for this one tournament. Maybe it's been in red circle on his calendar for years and years. So let me get this right. You're saying that Ronnie has not toured for seven years because seven years ago when we were last in Adelaide, he circled seven years into the future that this was the Mum's Bum Cup tournament that he was gonna set his sights on, or the next Adelaide tournament, which just happened to be seven years away, and he's been preparing like Rocky style in the background, practicing his golf, running up and down hills carrying golf bags and and stuff like that. Well he could have been, who knows? We'll we'll soon find out. Alright, so I think we can put uh Ronnie at uh a maybe a big a big question mark there. Here early Harry, your fifteen first year. I hear he has been practicing and shooting the lights out out there in the central western New South Wales.

SPEAKER_03

Well that's been the mail for sure. Dan round Bathsway, I believe. He's uh been getting out there and uh practising, and he could be a bit of a smokey young Harry. I wouldn't be writing him off. I I would give him a fifty-fifty chance from everything we're hearing out at King Brown Town. And we've been getting the late mail and had a few eyes on him, and he's going all right, so Harry wouldn't be ratting off.

SPEAKER_04

Well, there you go. There's another illumination moment for us all. Hear early Harry, a chance off 15, so uh Ben thinks. We'll soon see about that. So let's make him 50-52 off the back of that. Barnesy's boy Dave's off 60. Oh, he's no hope, Barnesy's boy Dave. He's the only man that has ever protested about making the cut, the final sixteen. You know, it was happened four or five years ago where Crying Out Loud won and Gold Coast, and I think it was B BTB 13, uh, Cambo actually slipped into 16th position by accident in the and he uh came and offered bribes to uh Carnival and and the golf committee to uh have him, you know, removed from the top sixteen. And did that happen? Oh yeah, they took the cash and they said Barnes pissed off back to Ambrose and and Cambo did a little jig and walked out of there, bought him all a beer. That was the bribe, I think. It doesn't take a lot. Alright, so Cambo we can go. No. Here's the big one Grunt and Growing. He is now the one of the chiefs of the uh golf committee, and I believe he has some wonderful news that he well, I don't believe, I know this from Carnival for a fact, that he will be taking over the future of the Mum's Bum Cup Golf Committee, and there's a new system coming in place for the handicapping. There's not not massive changes, uh, but it's something that he will be installing and we'll be talking to everyone about on tour. I think Carnival's going to address them and and Shane or Grunton Growen will uh also just let everyone know how it's gonna happen. Yeah, it won't affect things massively, but what it will do is uh give some real, you know, cement base to the handicaps going forward. A real, really good, solid formula. We we obviously have one in place and it's just been tweaked a little, and uh with him overseeing it now, it'll be very consistent for everyone going forward. Uh so looking forward to that. Alright, getting back to the golf side of it, he is a massive chance. He can play, Grunt and Groen. He's he's another one, uh probably Frog Frogman Grant is one that comes to mind straight away from the King Browns we talked about yesterday. He can play, and so Grunton is a big chance off 19. Yeah, he's massive. He is leading us into battle as far as the golf's concerned. Uh Benny's done well there, Ben Zabair. He's uh really tightened up some of these golf chances for the Mum's Bum Cup. And Grunton is our man. He's normally a single handicapper off 19, longer courses over there in Adelaide. Uh wouldn't be sleeping on him.

SPEAKER_03

All right, well, what odds is he, by the way? Seven dollars, seven bucks. That's pretty damn good for Grunton. I I doubt he'll be starting at that price by the time we get there.

SPEAKER_04

Well, we are hoping to get a bookies update on uh one of these daily pods in the next couple of days, and uh I would be surprised too if he started at$7. He is a much better chance than that. Uh I'd almost have him at three or four dollars not far behind Strength and Johnna. Yeah, he doesn't have the history though, you know. He can't make a lot of mistakes, but off the 19, I've got to say we are very, very happy that he's in our team going into the Mums Mum Cup. Alright, so we've got thumbs up there. Rhinestone Graham off 27, so he's back out at a round where he won in Beat the Ball 10, our anniversary tour up there to Maruchi Dor. Uh he is another live chance. Yeah, no doubt. I don't know how much golf Graham's been playing. He's keeping his cards pretty close to his chest, but I would imagine he is definitely one of our chances. I know Benzabe when we were sitting in the war room the other day, he had him as uh as one next to Grunt and Growen as two majors, and there's a couple more to come yet, don't you worry about that.

SPEAKER_02

Well, mate, you uh you do have a formidable team looking at that. Uh so I think Rhinestone Graham, you cannot underestimate this man. He is a former champion. He can win this again. He is back out to where he was when he won it before. A little bit further here, maybe.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, so Benzaber himself, he finished third last year. Not too bad, not too shabby from the new shooter skipper. He is going to be up there leading that charge as well, right next to Grunt and Grohn, shoulder to shoulder they'll be. Rhinestone Graham packing down the front row. Uh so he's a big chance at 33. Hey, I reckon. Look at those three, right there. Grunt and Grohn, Reinstone, Graham, Benza Bear. They can all win. Don't worry about that. Hey, got a couple more to come yet, mate. Don't you worry. Let's go straight into it then. Uh the next one up, Wokstar Jimmy, 34. Uh, he finished 11th last year. Yeah, there you go. Tick, tick, tick. Yep, tick, tick, tick. I said tick, tick, tick, mate. Don't make me come down there. I am fully pumped right now looking at our chances here in that Wrangler News and now looking at our team again. I'm feeling good about it. Well, he can win. If he finished 11th last year, 34, he's out at least one or two shots at l well there. That's what happens with the format. So that's where he's out to. Copy that condo. 22. He finished eighth last year. Holy shit, you do have a good team here. I told you we do. Pew, pew. We're going good. Benny has put together a back end of our team. Like, we haven't done as well in the comps as we'd like at the start of the year. But I'll tell you what, his back end of the golf, because that's five live chances right now. Uh so with him finishing eighth last year condo. Apparently he's playing off about three these days, probably plus three, you're keeping it all that quiet. Uh his his golf is his passion, and uh he is definitely a big chance. Oh, what odds is he at, Mario?

SPEAKER_02

Um six dollars, mate. Kondo at six bucks. Do you think that he's gonna stay? Because I I need to have another wager here. I like to have a bet for each Tim, you know, to be fair. I have two or three bets for the cattle dogs, uh, but that's the way it goes, you know, because we all drink the money on the Sunday night anyway, as we know. Whatever. Even when you lose you win, because the money that you lose goes on their bar on the Sunday night.

SPEAKER_04

Very good point. Glad you brought that up, Mario. Thank you indeed. So six bucks for Kondo. That's uh little overs in my head. I would think he'd probably be more around the four, possibly fives. Uh, but he's a massive chance, and I think he's way overs with the 22 in the handicap. But they are looking very strong indeed. I've got to say that, and we haven't even finished yet. No, we haven't. We've got Major Mortar off 48, one of the marquee players brought in this year. Uh, he'll have a real hot red hot crack. I'll tell you what, we've seen him grow in the leadership role within the shooters that Benny's put him into. Took him in as one of his main men. So I think the mortar, 48, uh, he's definitely getting out to a place where he can do some damage. So don't be surprised if he gets up there. Okay, I won't. I'll take that on board. Josh and the sergeant, 33. His birthday, the birthday boy today. Yeah, happy birthday, Josh.

SPEAKER_03

Great to have you in shooters' colours. It's not going as well as he was last year, eh? He won a premiership last year, but now he's over there with the shooters.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, don't worry about that, mate. We're coming home hard in the golf. Mum's bum cup, it's ours this year. Josh and the sergeant off 33. That might be a birthday present, a belated one coming to the shooters through Josh. Well, I've got to say, looking at that, the shooters are looking a lot better off than the Wranglers at this point in time going into the golf. Uh, Grunton Groan, Rhinestone Graham, Benzaber, Waxstar Jimmy, copy that condo, all live chances. So there's five, and then you've got some fifty fifties, and here early Harry, the big smokey. Uh, very good in doing. Indeed. Yes, mate, we're looking good, looking strong. Shooter!

SPEAKER_00

Let's get one thing straight. This is shooter's door. I've worked hard my whole life, paid my dues, and now it's shooter's turn. And shooter's not about to let his rain at the top be spoiled by some freak. Sideshow clown.

SPEAKER_04

Snap, snap! It's the Crocs. There he is, about bloody time, and a bit late today, a voiceover guy.

SPEAKER_05

One of my kids nearly got killed on a pedestrian crossing yesterday. I had to drive him to school this morning.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that sounds terrible, mate. Sorry to hear that.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, getting into the last team now and the winningest team ever in THC Premiership history in the Beat the Ball. Ah, you're still going on with that dribble.

SPEAKER_03

It's been years since they've done anything worthwhile.

SPEAKER_04

Don't you worry about those Crocs, the magnificent Crocs. We're doing just fine, thank you very much. And we're gonna have a look at the team now going into the Mum's Bum Cup. Uh Mickey McKenna, the skipper, will be leading off on 24. What do we think about his chances, lads? No, fairing him, no hope. He won it, and uh the woohoo! It was a great celebration, great year when he won in BTB 14 Sydney. Uh true tournament that year, of course. Uh, but Mickey's still recovering uh handicap-wise. Can't win. Definitely a rough here. This next one is one that we're hearing whispers about, big whispers, shouts almost uh coming down from the mid-north coast of New South Wales, and uh he is a former champion, and apparently he has been going gangbusters, playing three or four times a week. His handicap's low. I think in uh Stableford he has scored 42 and 44 points in recent times. So Roger that Diva, number 38. Could it be could he be the first man to ever go twice as Mum's Bum Cup champion?

SPEAKER_02

Well he's gotta be a good chance, mate. I think because Roger, he wasn't that far off last year. He had a bit of a rough year, missed their cut on a counterback, and that has burned in him like you would not believe. And he has been fighting and training and playing hard all his time. And if you're playing three times a week, mate, you are going to be dead set in this right up to your eyeballs.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he has been, apparently. That's the big rumour, the big whisper. That Roger, that diva, is absolutely carving up on the golf course. Uh, and he is going to be a major threat. So let's put him down as bang ting off 30. That's three or four more, I think, than when he actually won it back in Beat the Ball 8. Uh he is ten years older, of course, but if you're playing that often and the the whispers aren't just whispers, they're roars, as I said earlier. So Roger is definitely one to keep an eye on.

SPEAKER_03

And what odds is he? Just out of interest there, Ron.

SPEAKER_04

Six dollars for Roger. Same as copy that condo, good mate of his. And uh well, Kondo, as we know, is off about plus seventeen. He just keeps getting better and better as this podcast goes on. Roger playing that often, former champion, three or four strokes out, uh, definitely a big chance at six bucks. Don't know if that will be the same. Come tea off time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know. I think uh he'd probably come into fives, maybe even fours. Um but uh you know, here's the man. Apparently the crocs are all really rooting for.

SPEAKER_04

Whatever gets you going, I suppose. Yeah, I don't know if I'd want that image in my head though. Big Rog. Okay, so we've got Roger that do it, definite chance, and uh Mikaby, no chance. Uh Nickabee rising off 60.

SPEAKER_03

Uh any takers here? No, no, no, no. Nickabee uh occasionally does something. Apparently he has had a few rounds out there. Uh beers, I'm assuming, not golf. And uh no, I don't think you could take him. It's hard to get behind Nicobee.

SPEAKER_02

You would like to see him win first before you jumped on and backed him.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, they do have the tournament favourite uh to go with Roger that Diva as their main two chances, and that is strengthened Johnner. 35, one shot out, off threes. We've talked about him enough, he is the man to beat. Joshaby next off 60. Sometimes when you find out you're gonna be a father, or when you just become a father, that can you can do superhuman stuff. So Joshaby could be one to keep an eye on come the tour, do you think? No way in the world. I don't care what you could put Josh off 120. He's not winning this. He's gonna be one of the best cheerleaders of the Coxa Got, though. And uh, you know, and he'll just be smiling. What's coming down the line in September? All right, Johnoby Stifler, 33, he's living over there in Adelaide now. Could he have a bit of local knowledge and be one that just flies completely under the radar?

SPEAKER_05

I don't think so. Uh John Abby uh he hasn't done much on the golf mum's bum cup taught in the past to see he's gonna be any different this year. So I'd have him maybe a sixty forty against to use someone's terminology from earlier.

SPEAKER_04

Uh so not for me.

SPEAKER_05

The stiffy. I I like a good stiffy, but not this one.

SPEAKER_04

Well, that's a bit concerning in its own right, moving right along. Uh no stiffy for you there. Alright, so Big Win Neil 48. Here we go. Can this be the one bought over specifically from the Wranglers two years ago to stiffen up to keep using the terminology uh of that Crocs team? Heck actually when you look at it, everyone's rooting for Roger and uh Stiffy's in the team, and uh Big Win Neil's been brought over to stiffen it up, so uh this team must be uh upright and ready to go.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know what you're talking about, mate, but I think Big Win Neal is a big bin chance. He is 48, he had a back injury last year, and uh he doesn't have it this year as bad. I don't think his back is as bad as his back was.

SPEAKER_04

How much would would chuck chuck, eh, Mario? Yep. Big Win Neil. He's done a great job since coming over, and I know he's one of the main men for the Crocs. And without looking too far into the future, there is a player draft coming up in the next couple of months. Not even that, six weeks. And uh is there a chance he could go into Marquis slot this time around? Will Mickey keep him? We do know there's a couple of changes on the way to the draft, uh, so maybe he'll be forced to move on him or risk losing him. He's been a great player all year in the comps, and I'll tell you what, he's even picked up his act in that uh super coach NRL. Hey, he's doing really well, Big Win Neil. Oh, 48, I don't mind him. I'd give I'd give him a decent chance in there. I think if he can get away on that first day on the Friday, get a bit of confidence going into the Sunday, he is a big chance. Alright, so after him we have Wynne Danielson, uh 48 as well, off the same as his old man. Who would you have out of these two? A play golf with Wynne Danielson last year just before the tour itself, and he was hitting them late. So, and I tell you, was way under that handicap of foot. Yeah, he's probably more around the 30 mark, so I think his E10 strokes over handicap ways. Yeah, but there's one problem, bit uh the big fella, isn't there, when he gets on tour. The tour takes away from a lot of people once they're there.

SPEAKER_05

Hey, that's it. He doesn't mean the social side of it, big fella, and nor should he.

SPEAKER_04

He is a wonderfully socially active man on tour, and that's why he's got those extra E10 shots. But I'm telling you, uh, he is way over as far as handicap is concerned. Alright, so let's have a look at his odds then and just see if he's worth having a a penny on. Uh Wynne Danielson, seven dollars. Oh, the bookies are keeping him tight. Oh yeah, that'd be a bit of local knowledge there from uh Captain Croc McCabe. He's also heading up the odds and long, he's our main minister there. He'd know what's going on within his team. He's kept him really tight. If he was a tens, I'd be a big chance of having a having a bit of a punt, maybe even a plunder on uh Wynne Danielson, but he's not. So I'll have to hold McCash and see if he gets out a bit before we tee off. And that brings us to the last one. Ericaby arise, 45. He's got to be one of the most improved players within the tour in BTB 18, having a real red-hot crack at everything. Uh, but can he win the goal?

SPEAKER_02

No, I don't think so, mate. I don't think that Erica B is ready yet. I think once he gets out to about 84, he'll be a big chance at the golf. But he's it's been watching him go in all the other comps, mate. He has a real good go at things, and he's a very big team man for the crocs. Snap snap for them.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, thank you for that, Mario. He is that indeed. So live chances. Roger that Diva one, Strength and Jonathan two, uh, maybe fifty-fifty is the rest. So they're not looking overly strong in there either. Could they fall from second on the THC Premiership ladder and uh, you know, maybe finish third, fourth, or fifth.

SPEAKER_03

I'd love to see him finish fifth, you know. King Browns have been there a couple of times. It's not a pretty place. And the Crocs, let's let's be honest, they're not as, you know, dominant as they once were. They their shadow isn't quite as long as it once was over the tour, but that could change uh next draft. We all know that Mickey isn't scared to uh remove players, blood, water, whatever they may have in their veins, and uh bring in a new one. But no, I don't think so. I don't think uh they're gonna finish fifth, maybe third or fourth.

SPEAKER_04

Well, that'll be interesting to see there. So just to tie it all up, put a bow on it. The teams going into the Mums Bum Cup, I think the shooters are looking really strong. Uh maybe just in front of the King Browns uh and then the Cattle Dogs for me. Would you agree with that? Concur, Laurie? Yeah, I think the shooters are the main ones here. They've got ten players too, don't forget. And the one good thing about the points is in the THC Premiership on that weekend is if you've got ten players, they all get points. There's no averages there. They've had to average out their scores with the extra player each year in all the other comps, which is fair enough, that's the way it's always been. Uh but we're gonna have ten fully fit, ready-to-go golfers. So I'm really looking forward to it. I think they're gonna surge up that leaderboard in the premiership race. Well, that is a fair point too, especially if the Wranglers do get down to six. Sandy, how do you see it happening for the Wranglers?

SPEAKER_05

Well, we're lucky we've got that buffer going in. There's no doubt about it. We're gonna need it a little bit, but uh I wouldn't give up on us.

SPEAKER_04

I think Sage Shore Sam is a big, big chance off 49, twice second, as we've said in the last few years. So uh that's he's their leading late. Uh if he doesn't perform, they could well slip big time. Um I am a little bit more nervous at the end of this podcast than I was at the start. Yeah, or say you bloody well should be. Shooters coming to get you. All right, Laurie, all right, we're hearing you, we're hearing you. Shut up. Uh Cattle Dogs, Mario.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, in Lebba we trust. Love you, Lebba. Uh no problems at all. Woof woof, we'll be there somewhere, don't you worry about us.

SPEAKER_04

Can you win the premiership?

SPEAKER_02

Ah, well, that might be a little bridge too far, but you never know you're lucky in a big city.

SPEAKER_03

And uh Ben, King Browns. Uh, we're fine, we're fun. Uh I'm really looking forward to I think we'll pick next year, to be honest. BTB19. Uh saving private. He may make a couple of changes, tinker a little with the team, but going into the Mum's Bum Cup weekend, uh, looking pretty strong. Um can't wait to be covering it, and hopefully another King Brown will be slipping on that green.

SPEAKER_04

All right, that'll do us for today, everyone. Thank you for listening. I hope uh you've had a little bit of fun, you've learned some stuff, and maybe even had a smile along the way. We'll be back with the next podcast daily for BTB pod boffins very shortly.

SPEAKER_05

Until then, wherever you are, whatever you're doing, be the ball. Whoa. Hey man, at least it went in.

SPEAKER_01

Oh ho, it's magic.

unknown

Never believe it.
