Mean up your stupidity Alright, let's go. You like that, old man? You want a piece of me?
SPEAKER_03Hello, hello, hello, all you beataballers out there. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I know we did, or I did at least. It was fabulous, but uh I tell you what, there's some dramas out in downtown Dubo Golf Course. It's that time here, isn't it? Really? All the boys are fired up, all right. Pap Anatart's got me fired up, can't wait to get on tour. Down to the last sixteen days, and it's getting real close now. It's getting real. And I cannot wait.
SPEAKER_02But it's Thomas, isn't it? It's as good as Christmas for all of us be the ballers, and you can almost touch it. Ah.
SPEAKER_01Hello to you, Ron, and hello to all the beat the balllies out there. What was that intro today, mate? Did you have a very violent?
SPEAKER_03Well yes, that was uh some footage coming direct from Doubo Golf Course on Sunday, where there was an Ambrose play between eight of the members of the Beat the Ball, uh all getting ready, prepared for the Mum's Bum Cup tilts at glory, and uh apparently it turned a little bit ugly on the seventeenth, and uh that was Ryan apparently up front and then uh Metro Mac coming in after it. They were very angry, Matt. I'd say it's nothing more than Captain Croc using some of his old worldly experience there to put the wind up the King Brown's. It sounds like it was a Crocs and King Browns affair out there, maybe with a scattering of other teams, but they were definitely the two that were up front and chesting out each other. Well yes, apparently Joshaby has come up there. They were gonna take Wok's ball. Woke's dropped it about ten foot from the hole, and uh you know, as is you do in Ambrose, you get your ball, you go over and you take the best shot and you putt or play your shot from there. And Joshaby's walked over apparently given a big windmill swing on his ball between two bunkers. It's gone up across the green, hit the pin and dropped in the cup, and Mickaby quick as you like, quick as a flash has gone. That's our shot.
SPEAKER_02It's bullshit, I tell you. Bullshit of the highest order. The King Browns are absolutely stiffed and robbed, and I tell you what, they had every right to go off like frogs in socks, metro mat saving private et al. An unbelievable play by the crocs. It just goes to show what doed down dirty filthy things they are.
SPEAKER_01Oh my lord, your forehead van is going to pop. And it's aimed right at me.
SPEAKER_02No, I am all fired up like this, just like Patty B at the top of the show. I can't believe you pull that sort of stunt, especially in where there's no mums bum cup at play on Sunday. It's just a social event. I tell you what, there were fifty cuffs that were rolling around in the bunkers, uh, there were rakes shoved in places they shouldn't have been shoved and and the course lost a decent flagstick, and one of the boys had to uh, you know, get some help to extract it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I think the stories are starting to get a bit wilder. It wasn't that bad. I'm sure they were in the clubhouse having beers and you know consoling. It's probably singing piano band by nine o'clock that night. Who knows, arm in arm. Uh as it was, it's nice to see the competitiveness in all of the beat the ballers is starting to bubble to the top. They all want to wear that green jacket and they all want to do well for their team. Do we agree on that? Oh yeah, I agree entirely. I'm pumped up. I wish I could play for one of the teams. The shooters, mate, poo poo. No, pew, pew, and shove it right up your clacker, Mario. Sandy, I believe you were out and about on the Friday just covering some stories and seeing how the form is for some of your Wrangler boys as they go into the tour. Hey, that's right, we're at a McQuadi Lynx golf course. And it I tell you, it is a difficult course. And uh the boys were out there putting themselves through the pierces, a lot of wranglers there, a couple of crocs, former Wranglers, uh, and it was much more amicable sort of day by the sounds of things. Uh the one that stood out was none other than Wynne Danielson.
SPEAKER_02Once again, at this time of year, he tends to peak uh and he was the best player on the day and uh unanimous.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we went through this last year. He did exactly the same, was looking sensational coming into the tour. He's off about 48 or 49, something like that. Uh but the four days of drinking, you know, he he's just as good off the courses as he's on the course. Let's just put it that way. Yes, he's a member of the youth brigade that Captain Croc is bringing through slowly, and uh he'll be there. There's a quite confidence around what he may do. He's had a couple of years experience under his belt now, and uh I think he'll be ready to prepare his weekend a little bit better, and we may have a croc shock on top come the end of the weekend. All right, turning our attention to what's on today, fellas, and this week it's a big week. The captains, as we know last week, got together and they nutted out their teams for day one. So we're gonna cover some of those groups over the next three days. We're gonna cover them all over the next three days, but we'll do some each day. We have some quick player profiles for the Mum's Bum Cup uh to come through as well. And Bruce was earlier in today, as we know, and he has said we will not be stopping at all of the team's uh places now. So the ranch, the cattle dog country, the swamp. Uh they're all out of play because he reckons that we're not gonna have enough time, and he's instead sent one of our co-correspondents over to see what's going on at each place, and he's gonna fly in by chopper each day landing on this immaculate bus that we're touring over to Adelaide with, and the countryside has been absolutely magnificent. So a few detours, but uh Timmy Rawmeterkiss has been hired by the powers that be, and he will be reporting in on each of the teams each day, uh giving a pretty bald face straight at you, straight between the eyes, sort of take on how he thinks each team's gonna go.
SPEAKER_01Didn't he used to hang out with Red Dragon a little bit, mate?
SPEAKER_03Well they're in the same town. I'm not sure they quite liked each other, but uh he's the same sort of personality, shall we say. He delivers it hard and straight, gut punches everywhere, and I'm I'm sure he will uh not be taking any prisoners when it comes to his team evaluations. First up though, let's have a look at last weekend and the competitions as they stand. We know that we're down to the end of the season. This is what it's all been about. We've got our top eight finalists in the Triple B's, we've got the punter of the year guys who are up with their last chance and at getting a big win, a good win, and doing something uh worthwhile and winning one of those pillar trophies. So we'll have a quick squiz at that. Triple B's week forty six. Last weekend's racing was massive. As you know, we're into the winner carnival. Double points are up there in Queensland whenever the races are on, danger of wet tracks, big fields, all that sort of stuff. A lot of things come into play. I've seen contests over the years, won and lost in this four-week period, quite regularly. It's five weeks this year, five week block, and we're three weeks into that. Right, smack bang in the middle. Yeah, there was one horse here that lobbed at 150s. There were plenty that lobbed at 40s, 50s, 60s, and I'll tell you what, the boys are scouting wide and they as they should. There's no point finishing, you know, a noble sixth. We talk about this every year. You gotta get your balls out and have a dead red, red hot crack, dead hot crack, and do whatever crack, do whatever you gotta do with your crack to get there. Uh to try and beat the leader going in was Water Tank Matt, but there's been a myriad of changes since.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's getting very exciting. Even I know that, mate. Some of these horse prices are massive.
SPEAKER_03That they are, and uh, I tell you what, there was a a tipster last week who found one or two of them. And uh he had a massive week. I'm not giving any names away, any scores, anything like that, but let me just say that with two weeks to go, anyone can win this. I am looking at the top eight right now, and it is gonna be very, very tight. So, what are we looking at here on? What's the coverage? What's the top to two? How many points difference between first and eighth, etc.? Alright, alright, I'll give you a few little clues and hints. There is 290 points between first and eighth. So therefore you have to assume that there's a couple towards the bottom of that top eight that really need to fire up and uh get some big wide tips in there. There's no point picking things that are three dollars or five dollars. These guys need to be going on things twenty to one plus and in the double points if you you only need one, as we know. And you have to say two words here.
SPEAKER_02Augusta meerkat.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 2004, mate, came from the clouds, 120 to one winner, double points, their fifth last race of the entire season. It was the last day tipping, and he came from nowhere, mate, then one. And that's what these boys down the bottom need to do.
SPEAKER_03That's exactly what they need to do, Mario. They need to get on their bikes and find wide winners. And I tell you, there's plenty at this time of year. All the good horses are asleep in their boxes, waiting for spring carnival. You've got a few winter horses, you've got uh other things, big fields, you know, wet tracks, anything can happen. So I wouldn't be getting too carried away with short price favourites, especially up there in Queensland. What about changes to the ladder from last week to this week? There were four more changes. So the change has been every week. It's actually probably one of the busiest years for changes on that top eight ladder that I've seen, and we've been covering this for 18 years, as you know. In total, there have been close to a dozen changes since we went behind closed doors. That's how tight this is getting, and this is how topsy turvy it is, and it's just reflective of the most competitive season we've ever had in the Triple B's. I think there's going to be two or three boys who smash the highest points ever gained in this contest. And whoever runs second in this triple B's this season will probably have won almost every other year that's gone before it if they had been in those years and not this one. That's how big and good it's getting. I love it. 48 weeks of sheer tipping terror for some. It's a wonderful competition, and you've really got to be mere storm and have a heart as big as Farlap to win this thing. So whoever gets it.
SPEAKER_01Yes, but we're down to the last two weekends now, mate. They gotta go and gone now.
SPEAKER_03DALY Just quickly here, there were three more changes last weekend, so week 46 from week 45, and 19 changes in all in the last three weeks. So the DALE M table is going up and down like a yo-yo two. So th all those changes, you've gotta know that somebody's doing something in there big time and really disrupting this whole thing for those. Anyone who went behind closed doors and thinking this is a walk in the park, well they just got mugged. Punter of the year. Okay, there's been 45 changes in the punter of the year in the last three weeks, and we have had half a dozen punters that have collected over the last three weeks. So that tells you all you need to know right there. That ladder's getting shaken up big time, isn't it, right now? Uh all I will say is that they're not going for little winners here either. So Frogman Grant, who went in quite comfortably in the lead, uh well, without giving too much away, I wouldn't say it's as comfortable uh as he thought it might be. And you know, there's a lot of things that have happened, and there's uh there's some big punts coming up this weekend.
SPEAKER_01Time to shake 'em back, baby, if you want to win punter of the year, huh?
SPEAKER_03That's correct, Mario. Stable Wars we'll have a very quick look at as well. Another two changes to the ladder in Stable Wars. So these punters who are doing very well are obviously changing up the Stable Wars ladders as as you can imagine. Uh when we went behind closed doors, there was one team from the Wranglers who was wearing the vests. Are they still wearing the vests? I think you're giving something away there, Ron. Am I? Am I not? I wouldn't say all I can say is these competitions are never over till they're over. Experience has shown us that time and time again, and this next fortnight is really exciting as far as I'm concerned, and I can't wait to see the way it pans out.
SPEAKER_04THC Premiership.
SPEAKER_03This is the one that I'm really interested in. You haven't given any updates at all for this one, Ron. Well, Carnival hasn't thrown them down to me or allowed me or permitted us to talk about them. He has said we can give a brief update this week, and it pertains to the Tattoo Trophy, of course. The final event was held over the weekend. Uh the US PGA major and A Rye. It went a Rye, alright, in a good way for Aaron Rye, the Englishman. Uh fabulous win. He was 200 to 1. Can you believe that? 200s.
SPEAKER_01Did anybody pick him, Matt, for the Tattoo Trophy?
SPEAKER_03Nobody picked him, not even to run third anywhere. So there was a lot of points that went missing there for uh anyone. But it that what that did too, of course, made all the selections that were there, the top five, ten, and twenty became really crucial in uh de sorting out who the winner was. And the reason it's THC Premiership we're talking about is because all those points flooded into the teams event, too, don't forget. So they've gone in and changed up things a little bit too. There was a huge amount of points. We have 43 starters, there are only three that did not start in that contest. So most teams got a big influx of points. You just wanted to make sure you got your lion's share.
SPEAKER_02So, what's the outcome?
SPEAKER_03Every team is now over or above three thousand five hundred points. So that's great. Three of the teams are above four thousand points. Things have tightened up substantially due to this last batch of results and will tighten up even further, you imagine, as we get the end of year season things for the pillar trophy still out there. There is also well over three thousand points left uh on the Mum's Bum Cup weekend. That's huge. You you need the teams need players to make the cut. Now, if one of these teams happens to fall into a spot like the Crocs did last year, where they had very little, very few, maybe one player made the cut last year for the Crocs, uh that puts a massive dent in your aspirations for the title and to be sitting there on the Sunday night as the champion team. Uh sitting up there all high and mighty as we uh scoff Chinese.
SPEAKER_01Oh that was really informative, mate. Thank you a lot for nothing.
SPEAKER_03Well, Mario, I gave you what I can. Tattoo Trophy. The Tattoo Trophy has been run and done for Beat the Ball 18 across twelve events across the entire season. It all starts, of course, like this year, with the NRL tipping, super coach, AFL tipping. Those points carry into the next season, uh, which also has an effect on what the captains are going to do come draft time. Uh it may be the tipping point if you like one player's carrying over and doing well in those comps. But I will say this that it was a fantastic, fantastic contest this year. Uh the man that won it uh thoroughly deserves it, as you do. This is not a fluke in this. Uh you've got to go in the events uh and then you've got to do pretty well in most of them. You don't have to run top three in a lot of events, you just have to be consistent. And actually, uh there are guys up in that top ten who didn't didn't finish top three in any event all season. Uh there is a the the Wranglers, the King Browns, the Crocs did particularly well in this, and there was one shooter who uh sort of came through and and won catalog, but uh this was dominated very much so by those guys who are prepared to uh go across all the comps. So we'll announce the winner on tour, of course. Craig's carnival's looking through me through the windows, shaking his head. I've said too much as it is, he reckons. But well done to that winner of the Tattoo Trophy. The books are now closed on that. You will now have been on a champions board, prize money, kudos, all that stuff that comes with it on tour.
SPEAKER_00Let's get one thing straight. This is shooter's tour. I've worked hard my whole life, hate my dues, and now it's shooter's turn. And shooter's not about to let his reign at the top be spoiled by some freak sideshow clown.
SPEAKER_04BTB 18 Mum's Bum Cup Day one groups.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, shooter's turn up there, hey. What a good intro. That uh he's throwing a bit of slander, a bit of shade over at Sideshow Sam 2, second favourite to take out the Mum's Bum Cup, so might be quite pertinent. Yes, yes, yes, this is the time. Day one, very important. These groups, the captains, the way it worked, just so you know, is that they went in reverse order to where they are standing as a team presently in the THC Premiership. So that meant the shooters got to pick first, the King Browns second, etc. Now this year with the golf, at this stage, we have three groups of three, nine groups of four, a dozen groups altogether. The three threes will go first, of course. No point being stuck in a group of three and being at the back. Doesn't make for a very nice day. As it is, we still have next of win Nate, who is uh waiting for the bubber to come along, for the stalk to arrive, so to speak, and uh we're not sure whether he will be there at this point, which will be a massive blow for the uh Wranglers, as we've talked about before. But we've made contingency plans, we've got a few players in there that maybe not be spoken about uh that much that we think could do well. Well that's a good thing. But if next of Win Nath does not make it, his group will then go up the board uh and then he will that will become the fourth three group, if you know what I'm saying. Uh so that's where we're at, uh, and that's the way it will be played. Everything is in readiness, the golf committee they've spoken, uh, and there will be a pickup for all players of twelve. So if once you get to twelve shots on a fair way, on a hole, you need to pick your ball up and write twelve on the scorecard. There's gonna be a lot more things coming down the track as we get closer to the tour, of course. Uh in regards to scoring, cheating, all those things. Oh, we hate cheats, no cheats here. No, I mean you count your your strokes properly and the people around the Alright, alright, settle down, boys. Uh we'll get to all that. But right now, let's announce that first group on day one Friday at 10 a.m. who will be leading us off in the Mum's Bum Cup.
SPEAKER_04Number eighty-eight. Copy that condo.
SPEAKER_03Shooter. No time mucking around from Benzaber the skipper. He's throwing one of his big guns in straight away at the top. He's gonna say, catch us if you can. He's going out there to win maximum points for his team in that first group. And I wouldn't be surprised if he took the ball, took the T, started up and said, Let me hit first. I'm not worried.
SPEAKER_01It's always a bit scary, mate, with forty-five blocks looking at you as you hit that ball first.
SPEAKER_03Not for our condo, it isn't.
SPEAKER_02It wasn't isn't he under the massive injury cloude. Yeah, that's right. He had that uh sapeholder accident, didn't he? What's going on there? Well he's learnt to use the other hand, apparently.
SPEAKER_03Uh, which is always good, you know, if you can use left and right, ambidextrous, a bit of double adapting. Hey, he's fine. There's rumour has it he may even turn up and play this golf left-handed. That's how damn good he is. Alright, so there he is, Kondo. Uh, interesting choice first up. So then that leads to the captains having to make a decision. So the next one up was King Brown saving Private the Skipper. He had to decide who he was gonna put up against to go a head to head almost with copy that condo. There'll be a three ball, so it's gonna be have to be someone decent, you'd imagine, or he throws in the disruptor. What did he do? Number 79. Transetter Todd.
SPEAKER_02King Brown. Well, I'm not really sure if he's thrown in a disruptor or or a man who is really a chance at winning this whole thing. As we know, there's been an absolute stack of money. Come down like a snowball from the top of a mountain for Transetter Todd. Now the bookies have repeatedly said he is a terrible result. He's off a handicap of 50. He's never really done anything before, but uh I'm not sure what Ryan's doing there. Uh, he may have gone against the Warroom plans, but he's decided to throw Transetter Todd in.
SPEAKER_03I guess he could go either way. If he starts well, say that first nine holes, Transetter Todd up there against Kondo, um, he may then push on. Uh but if things are going poorly, and there's a third member to come yet, let's not forget, uh, he may decide to start disrupting, you know, just chatting a lot, uh talking, asking what sort of club are you using? Do you breathe in uh when you hit the ball or breathe out? Those sort of little things that can just throw players off their games. Uh interesting call that one. That was not one we were expecting. No way in the world. Who who's the third member of the group, Ron?
SPEAKER_04Number 71, Tango Tom, Cattle Dog.
SPEAKER_03There it is. Tango Tom, the champion from a couple of years back. He's still reeling from the handicap cut that every champion goes through where it's halved. Uh what's Lonro Leber thinking here, Mario?
SPEAKER_01Well, I think he is thinking Tango Tom is uh going to be difficult to win this, but he can play golf a bit. Uh he may be in there as a disruptor, maybe he has put himself forward to say, listen, let me go out there with Condo. I know what buttons to push just to put him off his game a little. Remember, this is not in your face chanting or coughing in backswings or any of that bullshit. It's just been enough to uh become a little bit disruptive in the way the other player is playing. Maybe talking a lot, getting them too many beers, things like that. So maybe Tango Tom is a disruptor.
SPEAKER_03No, I don't know. I'm not seeing that myself. Maybe uh he's getting him out there early. They've got a you know something planned from a cattle dog perspective, but Tango Tom will be out there against copy that condo and trendsetter Todd in that very first group on day one of the Mum's Bum Cup. Uh who how do you see this one w who's winning this one, Laurie? Oh, I think he'd got to go with the shooter, Kondo. I think he'll be very hard to beat. He was in the uh one of the favourites last year. His handicap's down to about, I think, seven, six or seven now, they're saying.
SPEAKER_02Um he has had that injury, but as I said, he'll play left-handed if he has to, and uh we'll be right. I so I think he's the one. I think he's probably the one too. But it's a it's an interesting first group. Not what uh I was expecting, but they will get us go going.
SPEAKER_03And uh who do you think will hit first, Ron? Well that's the question, isn't it? The big question. Who's gonna step up there? The nerves will be there. Uh they'll probably be a little bit dusty, shall we say, and uh they're going to have to tee off in front of forty-five other blokes who are all be sitting there, eyes on them. Uh, because quite often it uh depicts how many people feel they're gonna go through the day, depending on that very first shot.
SPEAKER_02Don't write trendsetter off. Do not sleep on this man. The money, follow the money, the trail is there, folks.
SPEAKER_03There it is in a nutshell though. First group off, copy that condo, tango tom, and they will be split by trendsetter todd. Bye, yeah. Bye-bye.
SPEAKER_04Mums Bum Cup, day one, group two.
SPEAKER_03Well, that brings Captain Croc to the table with his first selection for the day one groups, and straight up he has selected Number 38, Roger That Diva. Former champion, he's leading from the front as well. Roger that diva won in beat the ball eight. Apparently he's been up there near Port Macquarie in and around Port and playing three to four times a week. His handicap is down to around eleven or twelve. He's off a handicap in the beat the ball of up around thirty. He is definitely one to watch this year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, mate, that's a strong pick, and uh straight up it'll be interesting to see who they put with Roger.
SPEAKER_03Well it's an angler that's in the saddle and say, sure, Sam, he's a depleted team, but who will he throw up in there? I've got a pretty good idea who's gonna be up next.
SPEAKER_04Number one, Kriegs Carnival.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh. Things are getting tasty. You've got the BTB eight winner in Roger that Diva, followed by the BTB seven winner in Craig's Carnival.
SPEAKER_03Is he any chance the Carnival? He seems like a pretty busy fellow at the moment. I'm not sure he's getting as much golfing as he would like.
SPEAKER_01Oh, he's been around for a long time now. He he sort of hangs around without doing too much in the golfing stakes. I don't know. There hasn't Been any money for him at all. He's one that I would think he can go with Roger that diva, maybe a little bit. But Roger's been getting in a lot of golf.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't know, Carnival. Uh he's always thereabouts. I think he's only missed the cut twice in about the last 15 years, but he'll probably just, you know, slink into 16th, 15th, something like that. So no, but it's an interesting choice that uh there should be some good golf there. And I know for a damn fact that the next guy coming in who's a shooter, we're back to Benzlebear and his picks. Uh, this could be one of the groups to follow.
SPEAKER_04Number thirty-nine. Grunt and Gruen.
SPEAKER_02Boom. How's that for a group? Grunton Groen's one of the best golfers in here. He's the head of the golf committee with Roger. So that's going to be interesting dynamic in that group. Both of those boys in there, the group committee and uh Craig's Carnival. Uh, that's a strong group. I might follow that one for a whole or two myself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it is. That's certainly one of the stronger groups, I imagine we're going to see. Only the three ball. Uh, there may be a bit more to this than uh these three head to head, uh, both on the golf committee. Uh, they would like to get back early, I'm sure, to bring all the boys in. Carnival's probably not dissimilar, got things to do, places to go, people to see whilst on tour. Uh, so it may be that we've ended up by accident with what looks to be a really strong group. Uh, and so there should be no problems with pace of play with those first two groups. So group two is uh Roger that diva, Craig's Carnival, Grunt and Growing. Strong group.
SPEAKER_04Mumsbum Cup, day one, group three.
SPEAKER_03Okay, this is the last of the three balls. So the way the scoring works in the three balls is the winner of the group gets 12 points, second nine, third six. In the four balls, uh the fourth place getter gets three. So you get three just for being in the group, but obviously you're trying to win that group for your team. Yeah, but how does the score then work on it uh as far as the golf itself? Well, Sunday we know is the Ambrose for those top sixteen that don't make it. Uh the Friday is pure stroke minus your handicap. Uh so whoever has the best net score wins that group. So it's all fair, above board, equal. Uh, and that's what golf handicapping is about, and that's why it's important. King Browns are next in the saddle. Any idea, Ben, who they might be taking? I have a damn good idea.
SPEAKER_02Ribbet ribbot.
SPEAKER_04Number ninety-two From Man Grant.
SPEAKER_02One of the big guns from the King Browns and saving private in this third grip of three is wasted no time in bringing him out and putting him on display. And I tell you what, if a handicap of twenty-one this year, this is a man who can win the Mum's Bum Cup, no doubt about it at all. He's been fabulous throughout the other competitions this season, and I believe he is a true five to one shot that everybody should be backing.
SPEAKER_03Yes, he can play, no doubt about it. We've all seen it. The weekend we say it ad nauseum almost is that it catches up with you, you know, and that may be the problem with Frogman, but 21 does seem very generous for for his style of golf. He can hit a long ball, hit a good ball, and uh he is definitely going to be in play. So we've got some pretty big groups out early, which is good because that means the pace will be strong right through, and that's one of the things we have to concentrate on is moving through the groups, moving through the golf day itself as quickly as possible. Uh not in a rush, but always moving. So uh frogman Grant, that means it'll be interesting to see who they put next to him because he can be quite an intimidating golfer if he plays, and it's down to the catalog.
SPEAKER_01In Leber, we trust, mate, he will put in a man who will blunt the force of the frogmen.
SPEAKER_04Number fifty-five. Devastating Dave.
SPEAKER_03Another former champion from that not far back, devastating Dave. So Lonro Leber is obviously working on something here. Tango Tom, who is off a restrictive handicap. Diva Dave, who is off a restrictive handicap. I don't think he's been put in there as a disruptor, but he is certainly doing something, Lebra, and I can't work it out.
SPEAKER_01We have a plan, mate, we have gone over it time and time again. Lonro Leber, he knows what he is doing. I think he's setting things up in the front so that we can really hurt the other teams in the back for those big points in those later groups of football.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's a tough that's an interesting setup, isn't it? Frogman Grant. Steve is not really a disruptor. He he can play golf, there's no doubt about it. He's won the Mum's Mum Cup. I'm not really sure what's going on either. It'd be interesting to see how this plays out when you have a helicopter view of what the Cattle Dogs are doing. Well that leaves one more in the third group of three, and that's all we've got up front in the three balls. Uh and the Crocs. I have a feeling I know what Mikaby's thinking here. He thought long and hard about who he wants to combine his players with, up against, and what their role will be in the day.
SPEAKER_04Number ninety-six, Bing Winnial Croc.
SPEAKER_03Well, I wasn't expecting that, to be honest.
SPEAKER_02Is he in as a disruptor, do you think? Oh, for sure and certain. That's what's going on here, those dirty, filthy, low-down crocs. We we saw what they did last weekend. This is just a continuation of it and an exposure of this group. I tell you, they just infuriate me.
SPEAKER_03I don't know about that. I think like Big Win Neil has been under an injury cloud for a couple of seasons, had back injuries. We watched him go around on Friday, and he seemed to be moving reasonably well, hitting a good ball, he's off 48. Um but you know, would he be a disruptor? It does doesn't seem like any three of these players to me are out and out disruptors. They're not they're not necessarily loud. Uh they're great blokes, as all blokes are on the tour, mind you. Um so it's it's it's a strange one. It might be quite a quiet group, which would lead me to think that. I know exactly what you're gonna say. Frogman Grant, he's going to get to play at his style, at his pace, in his own golfing bubble. He could well be the yellow jacket leader come night time. Well, I wasn't gonna say that at all, but uh that's better than what I was gonna say. So that'll do, thank you, Lori. It's a big, big uh opinion there, and I think you're not far off, to be totally honest. Uh Frogman Grant could enjoy this. Uh Big Win Neil, get to concentrate. Cart setup will be interesting. Who the cart buddies are going to be. Yeah, I'm not sure that these boys have ever played golf together. Uh I've uh followed Frogman Grant's group both times. He's been on tour around and he's a fabulous golfer. Bigwin Neal can have good days too. Don't worry about that. He's a big chance of making the cut. And Diva Dave, we all know that handicap uh might be a bit strangling. He had to miss last year late, so he's still wearing the effects of that. I would imagine Grant comes out on top in this one though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, too ready. Well, don't you worry about that. Make a little noise here, huh?
SPEAKER_03Well, it may well indeed be time to make some noise because we've got the three groups of three out of the way up front, some strong players in those three, but this is the crux of the entire day. How it runs, how it affects players. Uh, one of the problems when you're in one of the last groups or uh in a bigger group, and we're not towards the tail yet, is mentally wrapping your head around the fact that you need to just relax, enjoy the day, and go uh with the flow. Don't push against it or rail against it. Just get in your golf bubble, have a few beers or laugh with the boys uh and enjoy it. So this first group of four, their job is to take the rest of the groups up to the field. And the first team that we have up, and uh their turn to pick is none other than the Wranglers, Sideshow Sam. Sandy, what do you think here? Well, if you're gonna lead if you're gonna lead, you gotta lead from the front. So I have an inkling I know who will be coming up next.
SPEAKER_04Number fifty-one Sideshow Sam Wrangler.
SPEAKER_03This move makes perfect sense to me. It's only the second selection the Wranglers have had in the top four groups, and he is going to lead from the front. The skipper has said, give me the ball, I'm gonna take this hit up. I'm gonna help bring and make sure that we tack this group on to those first three in front, and the rest should flow from there. He is a big chance at winning it this year, twice second in the last four years. We've covered that, uh, and he is gonna be very difficult to beat again. So I like the way he's led with the selections for this group. Well that was very succinct and uh powerful, and I'm a bit uh pumped up for Saicha Sam, even though I'm not a wrangler, but in saying that the shooters are up next, so if I was the skipper, I know exactly who I would put in there to eyeball him, to look him straight down, stare him down. Hey, I think we know who's coming next. Number sixty-six, Benzabear. Shooter. You wanna raise the handy up the stakes by naming a captain? We'll come straight back at you. Benza Bear has said, I'll take that challenge on face to face, front to front. Let's go. Oh, I can't wait to see this. It'll be a great battle. Benza Bear was in the final four or eight last year, finished sixth overall. He will be there going stroke for stroke with Sideshow, and uh the golf will be sensational too. Gonna be a great head-to-head battle. It's interesting now to see what the other captains are gonna do uh with these two up, and I think it's the King Browns up next. Ben, any inkling?
SPEAKER_02Ah, there's only one thing that will happen here. We'll know what that will be. I hope we know what that will be. I certainly hope the captain goes that way. Has made some selections in the past, which has befuddled me to no end, but I think this one speaks for itself.
SPEAKER_04Number twenty-two! Saving private King Brown.
SPEAKER_03Well, voiceover duty's certainly getting very excited about this battle, and I must say myself, sitting back here, that looks fabulously tasty, doesn't it? Wrangler skipper Sideshow Sam, shooter skipper Benzaber, and the King Browns have just said, Whatever you've got, we're coming at you with our skipper too. He's gonna take the fight on from the front, and we've got three captains going head to head so far in this group with one to come.
SPEAKER_02Ah, Ram would he's absolutely salivating at the opportunity to take on these other skippers, one-on-one, one on two. He'll take them all on no matter what way they come at him. Uh be interesting to see which way Ryan goes, because we know he is somewhat volatile. He can lose golf clubs out of his bags and and lose them by quite a distance, you know, fifty, sixty meters into uh dams and high up in the trees, etc. If he keeps all his clubs in the bag and these boys don't push his buttons too much, which I can't count on to be totally honest. Uh but Ryan is in there doing what skippers do, and that's take on other skippers. What a great looking group this looks fascinating.
SPEAKER_03So that leaves one more to finish this first four ball and the first four groups which we are covering today. Uh and Mario, that is a cattle dog call, and what do you think will happen here?
SPEAKER_01I think I know exactly what will happen, mate. Woof woof. We know what's coming down the line. I can't wait to hear that name of Red It.
SPEAKER_04Number one oh one Dukesbro Daniel Cattle dog.
SPEAKER_01No no no mate. Voice over many, you made a mistake. Read it out again, please.
SPEAKER_04I've already done it once.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I this has come to me, it's it's hit me in the hut, mate.
SPEAKER_03I could be a changing of the guard here. I think I know what Lonro's doing. Everyone's expecting Lonro to throw himself in there to meet the other three skippers. But he has stepped off the left and he's thrown a little bit of a dummy. Curveball, put the palm out and gone through the gap. He has sent in junior Leber, Dukesrow Daniel, who is off 15, who is a good golfer, who is up against three others that can all play and are all in the Mum's Bum Cup up to their eyeballs. And everyone's expecting Leber to put himself in there, but the Cattle Dogs, they've got a different strategy. They're playing a different game this year. Yeah, it's straight from first pick, selection one, tango Tom, devastating Dave, and now we're into Dukes Road Daniel when everyone was expecting Lonroe Leber. So whatever game they're playing, this is really good. I don't mind that. Is it a bit of a changing of the guard?
SPEAKER_02Perhaps you look at it and you think, well, yeah, we've got the big dog and the and the uh younger dog, the old dog and the young dog, the old bull, the young bull and cattle dogs. It's gonna be interesting. I don't mind it at all though. That's uh throwing everyone a little bit of a loop. Oh, it's definitely a group you've got to follow.
SPEAKER_03That's for absolute short and certain now. You look at Sage or Sam, then you look at Benzabet, two very good players, head-to-head skippers, saving private will be in there, disrupt him, but he just does it by nature. But it doesn't matter whether he chooses to do it or not, he's going to disrupt. And then we've got the quiet achiever there, Dukes Rhode Daniel first year thrown into the deep end by the skip a lot. But he obviously has a hundred percent confidence in the young fella, so this is an enticing group. Well, so there you go. There's our first four groups for day one Mum's Bum Cup. And I tell you what, it's going to be an explosive start. Some great golf up front, some very, very good players who are high up on the odds boards. Uh, just to recap quickly, group one, uh copy that condo trendsetter Todd Tango Tom. They will be leading us off on 10 o'clock on the Friday morning at the Pat Golf Club in Adelaide. Group two, right behind them. Roger that Diva, Craig's Carnival, Grunt and Growin. Oh, that's an awesome group when you look at it. Group three, Frogman Grant devastating Dave, Big Win Neil. That's the question mark group out of the first four. No doubt about it. How's that group going to play out? And then group four, uh, Skippersville. Taking the four balls up to the three balls, Sideshow Sam, Captain. Benzaber, Captain. Saving private, captain, Dukesrow Daniel, captain's pick. Oh, enticing mouthwatering stuff. There you have it. We'll be back with the next four groups tomorrow as part of that podcast. Uh, but let's just wrap around head around them for today, and uh that's sensational. Yeah, that's great. I can't wait. I'm excited more than ever now. Let's get on the tour.
SPEAKER_01I can't believe it, mate. Dom's still in a bit of a state of shock.
SPEAKER_02That's going to be a nice grip saving Pravit in there with two of the other captains. You don't think he's been licking his lips waiting for this one? This could be anything. The roof could come off this one. It's certainly cheapen up that way.
SPEAKER_03Oh, bring on the tour.
SPEAKER_01I gotta learn how to pick it up.
SPEAKER_03Whoa, look at the time we it has flown this morning. Yeah, it has a what? We had a lot of information to get through today, didn't we?
SPEAKER_01Well, we had to go through all of last week's results.
SPEAKER_02And then of course we've moved into the groups for day one.
SPEAKER_03There was lots of other stuff we were hoping to get to, but we're not gonna get there on, obviously, are we? No, we're not. It's gone long enough this one. We'll be back tomorrow with another Pod Boffin's Mum's Bum Cup BTB Daily Podcast. We'll continue to work our way through those day one groups for the Mum's Bum Cup, plus lots of other stuff, bit of fun along the way too. Uh hope you got something out of today, boys. Lots to learn. We've got some great groups leading us off on day one, and I'll tell you 16 sleeps away, and then we're there. Alright, gotta go, chat tomorrow.
