Morning Mario, you're here bright and early.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, mate, I uh got to bed a bit earlier than I thought I would uh so I'm here, you know, ready for a big day. It's gonna be huge, mate. I love this time of year.
SPEAKER_00And what did you get up to last night in the end?
SPEAKER_02Well mate, I left here and I thought I'd catch a taxi here. I wanted to see what they were like, the yellow taxi cabs. So I hopped in and uh and then the door opened, mate. It was so strange. It was a bit of a weird evening. And this guy sticks his head in and he says to me, Do you want to split the cab? And I said, Are you talking to me? And he looked at me and he goes, he's smiling at me for some reason. He goes, Are you talking to me? And I said, Yes, I'm talking to you. You were talking to me, unless you're talking to the driver, I'm unsure. And he started laughing and he said, How about we split the cab? And I said, The driver won't like that, mate, and I don't want to cause no trouble in New York. You know, I'm here for to enjoy the apple. And he looks at me like I'm an idiot, mate, and I know that look because lots of people give it to me. And he says, No, do you want to have the taxi fare? We pay for it and we get the lift together. And I say, Okay, no worries, mate, hop in. So he hops in and uh he says, Hello, my name's Bobby. Pleased to meet you. And I said, Hello, my name is Mario, likewise. And he says, You must be from Australia. And I looked at him and said, Can you tell from my accent, mate? And he said, No fucking way. And I said, Oh, okay, how can you tell? And he said, You've got a boxing kangaroo on your t-shirt. And I said, Yes, I do, I do. I forgot about the kangaroo. And uh so anyway, we get talking and I say to him, Where are you going? And he said, I'm going to meet the fuckers. And I said, Really? That sounds interesting. He said, Would you like to come along with me? And I said, I wouldn't mind to meet the fuckers either, but I'm not sure if the fuckers want to meet me. And he says, Well you have a think about it. We're just gonna pull the taxi over for a second here, because I need to pick up on my mate, Al. And I said, okay. And he said, Do you know Al? And I said, Of course I know Al. He is over here for the beat the ball player draft. Big top Al. Oh I couldn't believe we both knew the same person. And he said, Oh no, no, it's a different Al. And I said, Oh, okay. So his mate hops in. He was a very short man actually, uh, much shorter than uh you would expect most men to be. And he says, Hello, this is Al. Do you want a cappuccino? And I said, No, I don't want a cappuccino, thank you. I have drank enough water all day. I'm gonna be going to the bathroom all night. And uh Bobby looks at me and just smiles and laughs and he says, No, that wasn't what I was asking. So he said, So do you want to come and meet the fuckers with me or not? And I said, Well, I don't I wouldn't mind to meet the fuckers, but I don't know if the fuckers would like to meet me because we don't know each other. And he said, Okay, well, it's just up here. We're gonna hop out now, me and uh Mr. Cappuccino men, and uh we're gonna off we go. And so they did. And then I just went back to the hotel for the night and and that was it. But it was uh it was a fun cab, right? Strange, odd, but uh you know, I can't believe he knew Big Top L.
SPEAKER_00So you're telling me you shared a taxi cab with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, two of the greatest actors of our generations of the last fifty years.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, mate, it was Bobby and uh the cappuccino guy, and that's all it was, and uh and they said this I don't think they were actually going to meet anybody called the fuckers, and I believe they're called the Fuckers. Ah, maybe maybe he was joking with me. I don't know. How my how would I know? I was more worried that I'd won my boxing kangaroo t-shirt without realizing I don't want nobody to punch me up, you know?
SPEAKER_00I don't think that was ever gonna be an issue. And uh you talking to me, have you ever seen the movie Taxi Driver by any chance? You know, it sort of launched Robert De Niro's career.
SPEAKER_02I think I did years ago, mate. It was on some training course that they had us do for the government, but I can't remember his face now.
SPEAKER_00Oh all right then.
SPEAKER_02So what did you get up to last night, mate? Did you go and see those twins? Hey?
SPEAKER_00I I did. I went to see the twins, you know. They're my favourite twins in the world and I was looking so forward to seeing them. They're tall girls, big girls, tall, you know, and they tower over everything. But when I got to their old outdress they were gone. It was quite sad really, so I just uh popped back down to the diner where they shot the series Seinfeld and see if I could see them. But there's a lot of people there, but nobody that I knew. So I had a little bit of pie and uh went back to my room. And so I'm I'm ready for today. It's gonna be a big day looking out there, Mario. You know, there's a lot of people, a lot of celebrities. I can't believe how hot these tickets are for everyone to get to the Madison Square Garden for this Marquee draft, you know. The player draft's just as big tomorrow. It's huge, so uh I'm got a few wee nerves, shall we say.
SPEAKER_04Morning men, great to be here this morning. Great to see you two here nice and early. How big a day is it going to be, be them all nineteen Marquee draft day? I am so nervous. I've got butterflies.
SPEAKER_02How did you get them to follow you, mate? Do you c you can't keep them in your pockets?
SPEAKER_04No, no, uh in my belly.
SPEAKER_02You wait the butterflies, mate? My god, you are an absolute animal.
SPEAKER_03No, Mario, I don't know if you understand what the butterflies in your belly mean.
SPEAKER_00It means I'm nervous.
SPEAKER_02Oh, same as Sandy then, he's nervous too.
SPEAKER_00Hey, we should be nervous. We gotta compare this whole thing today and have a look at the heads out there in the audience. It is packed this joint. And there's wall to wall New York aliased celebrities, B list, C list, every list. Over there you've got all the Knicks. They're still celebrating going off. Half of them still haven't put shirts back on. They are loving it, and two of them have still got their champagne goggles on. Over there we have the uh hot ice hockey rangers. Make a bee McKenna will love that. I wonder if he's gonna put his cheese head on again and get over and get some autographs. New York Giants players over there, Jets over the other side of the room for obvious reasons, and that's before you even get to the actors singers. Oh, it's all here and I'm feeling it. We got a nail list today, Ronnie.
SPEAKER_04We do, we do, but we are seasoned professionals, don't forget that, Sandy. You and I are going to knock this out of the park.
SPEAKER_00And speaking of knocking it out of the park, there's the Yankees over there. You can tell from their pinstripe suits. Oh there is everyone who's who of everyone in New York is here today.
SPEAKER_03Morning, fellas. Great day to be alive, is it not? Is it what? I can't wait. This is shooter's day. I can feel it. It's coming.
SPEAKER_01Would you just please shut up, Larry? I've got this all I've heard all the way from the hotel to here in the taxi. Unbelievable. You would you just I'm feeling it in my head. Has got a dead set of axe in the back of it.
SPEAKER_03Well, sorry for being social.
SPEAKER_00Was it by any chance, Ben?
SPEAKER_01I went to New York's fanist wine room and sat there drinking some of the globe's most fabulous cabinets and Shirazes and a Syrah, which is the same as Shiraz for some of you guys, but just a different region. We were drinking Cuban foot-long cigars. Unbelievable it was. Patterned chairs. We had smoking jackets on.
SPEAKER_02Why didn't I know jackets could smoke? Were they smoking the cigars as well?
SPEAKER_01No, they weren't, Mario. No, they weren't. So it was quite a large night. Uh Huey Hefner was there. He had his smoking jacket on, and I tell you what, he had some smoking good sorts around him, so it was quite a pleasant evening, but I've gotta say, uh nothing like a red wine hangover, and I'm feeling it today.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's lucky you don't have to be down there in the main area. As you can see, boys, right, we've got everyone here. It's a massive day coming up. We're in this central commentary position, the crack commentary team from Australia. So we've got to give it everything because all everyone's bought their tickets expecting a huge day in this marquee draft, and it will be a big day. So they've got the boxing ring set up down there. So what's going to happen is Sandy and I will be taking it in turns, comparing, and we will bring the players up. They will come through the ropes and they will be presented with five different caps. Now they're all on their little stands, as you can see there, and the player will choose the cap of their liking, then return through the other side of the ring back to their seats. Do we have it?
SPEAKER_00Hey we do, easy, nice and simple. Oh, look at all those ring girls down there.
SPEAKER_04Yes, part of the entertainment is and completely keeping with the Balboa Creed theme, is the ring girls will be walking around with each pick.
SPEAKER_03They've got numbered cards one to twenty, and they will come out before each pick to let the crowd know what pick we're up to, uh, and then we will announce that the players will come up and go. After each pick, we will throw back here to the central commentary position, and you boys have got about 30 seconds to give a rundown on how you think that pick went, what's it going to do for the team, etc. etc. You're our colour commentary. You're vital in this call today. We're going out across the globe. Every country on earth is tapping in to watch this. You know, the World Cup soccer's on, and most of them aren't even going to be watching that. They're going to record that and then they want to see what's happening in Beatle. And you can't blame them. It is an absolutely global massive event. Yeah, I heard Donald Trump's even uh called the war off to get back in time for this, you know. Trump tell I I wanted to go and have a look at that last night, but I didn't get a chance to. What'd you end up doing? Well, I walked around looking for the bloody garden. You know, there's no garden here. There are line bastards. Madison Square Garden, my ass. No garden at all. And square, fuck me, everything's in a circle. I must have just wandered around. I was that dizzy after walking around looking for the garden that I had to sit down and then have someone escort me off the premises because they thought I was loitering too late and only security was on by that stage. So you know, I I think this is just all they're all full of shit. It's not Madison Square Garden, it's Madison Circle No Garden.
SPEAKER_02What about you, Ron? What did you do last night, mate? I didn't see you nowhere.
SPEAKER_03I went out to see the Statue of Liberty, and I tell you, I just stood there, fascinated, smellbound, gobsmacked by what I was witnessing. Uh amazing that statue, and uh, you know, you see it so often in the movies, uh in travel brochures. It was just nice to spend a little alone time with me in Liberty.
SPEAKER_02She must have a sort of arm though. I've always thought that when I look at her, to be standing there the whole time holding that arm up, you know. I'm almost in pain watching it.
SPEAKER_03She's a statue, you dumb bastard. She's not feeling anything.
SPEAKER_00Oh, he's up, boys. He had a better note than all of us, and he doesn't even realise it.
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay, we're getting the hurry up now. We've got two or three minutes until we're on air. Sandy, you ready?
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, I am now. Let's go down there. Let's get this show on the road and give them something they'll remember forever.
SPEAKER_03All right, Ben, back up. Laurie, on your game. Big game from you today. Don't worry about that. It's shooters all day today. Pew, pew. First pick in the marquee draft. Looking very good indeed. Come on, big Ben's a bear, give it to him. Stick it to him, big fella. This is our opportunity. Mario, you ready for the cattle dogs?
SPEAKER_02Yes, mate, I can see everyone in their corporate boxes. There's Lebba over there. He's waving to me. Hello, Lebba! He's in a caftan looking very relaxed. Getting a few little hari beads there in his fingers. I think there's a Hare Krishna in the back of their box there sitting on a beanbag. Oh yes, he is. He's playing a little guitar on his lap. He doesn't even know how to hold it properly, poor bugger.
SPEAKER_01It's called a mandolin, you moron.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's a girl. I had no idea. It looked like a man from here, but it's hard to tell without all that hair. I'm wearing all that orange. It hurts my eyes.
SPEAKER_03No, the instrument is mandolin, not the name's not a mandolin. If you say so. Right, I can see Mickey over there in the Crocs Corporate area, and uh he is pacing backwards and forwards. He did wear the bloody cheese head from that tour a couple of years ago when the ice hockey finals were on. Look at him over there, clapping his hands, jumping around. Oh, I think he's he's just whipped the shirt off. He's got a big giant C on his front chest painted. That's a big C alright. Give me the ten forties. Oh yep, there we go. There's the shooters over there. Ben's a bear. Oh, he's pacing backwards and forwards. He's sweating up a treat. Look at him, he's like a horse behind the barriers before the cup. He's as nervous as and he's hoping he gets this right because there's a lot of pressure to get the shooters off the bottom. I'm with you, Benny. Yes, yes, no, he can't see me. He's not doing anything. Alright, go for your life.
SPEAKER_00Ah, the Wrangles, look at Sage or Sam over there. He's sitting out the front of their corporate area, legs crossed up on the bars there. He is as relaxed as you get. I think he's even pulled that Wrangler's hat down over his eyes for a wee sleep. He has not panicked at all.
SPEAKER_04Okay, Sandy, let's go.
SPEAKER_03As the announcer said, let's get ready to rumble.
SPEAKER_06Ladies and gentlemen.
SPEAKER_04Hello, hello, hello, and welcome everybody to the Be the Ball 19 Marquee Draft here in the fabulous Madison Square Garden. And looking out at all of you, I can see that you are thrilled to be here, excited as we all are, as we go out globally on our launch of the Beat the Ball 19 season. Today we will be revealing the number one marquee draft pick and the rest of the teams as per their captain's guidelines and selections for the marquee draft.
SPEAKER_03Wonderful to see so many faces that we know and love.
SPEAKER_04Sylvester Stallone, hello Sly. Great to have you here. Yes, thank you very much. Over there, oh Michael B. Jordan. Oh, there we go. Creed himself, Adonis. Hello, mate. Thank you for coming along. Barbara Streisand, oh, adding a little bit of class to the event. Thank you, Babs. Wonderful to have you here. Robert De Niro, El Pacino. As I look around, there are people everywhere that we know and love. Jerry Seinfeld, hello, Jerry. Oh, yes. Oh, wonderful to have you as well. Today, folks, it'll be very simple. We'll get through as quickly as we can, so please bear with us and be patient.
SPEAKER_03We will be naming the top four marquee drafts for each team, nominated by their captains.
SPEAKER_04There it is, folks. Every time you hear that sound, we will be announcing a draft pick. So everybody, settle back, get ready for what is sure to be an exciting and absolutely unbelievable day here for the Be the Ball tour. Handing over now to my co-host, Sandy Crotch, about to announce the much anticipated number one marquee draft pick for Beat the Ball 19.
SPEAKER_03Oh, here we go, boys. Look at that crowd down there. It's massive. Oh Sandy, don't stuff up. Please don't stuff up.
SPEAKER_02Who do you think will got number one, mate? I've been thinking about this all week and the shooters, because they came last last year, they get their number one pick.
SPEAKER_03I just hope he takes someone that we need, like bring someone in. Get the balls out there and a bit of chutzpah and bring them in.
SPEAKER_01I really don't give a rat, to be honest. Uh I'm only worried about the King Browns and getting through this excruciating pain that I'm currently suffering.
SPEAKER_03Oh, don't worry about it. Here we go. Sandy's got the microphone. Alright, back down to him.
SPEAKER_00Hello there, everybody. Wonderful to be here with you. Your saucy minxes and Beastly Brutes. Oh, there's some lovely ladies. As we can see, the one walking around there with the big number one. These are our in ladies, and they're going to be with us all day. Here we go. With pick number one in the BTB 19 marquee draft. The shooter skipper Ben Zabest Alex. Number one zero four. Smithy Win.
SPEAKER_03Boom. Get that up, yeah. Yes. Shooter, shooter, pew, pew. Smithy Wynn, one of the best players of the last couple of years. Young fella coming in, and Benza Bear, he has stepped up to the plate. He has swung and that has gone straight out of the park. How good is that, right? I've got the chainsaw going. AKA Brett Lee at his prime. Well done, Benza. Absolutely love it. Bring him up here. I want to boff him. Yes, yes. Yeah. Settle down, would you? You're killing me here. Oh yeah, go on, get out. Tell your story, Walking Powell. I don't give a shit. You can piss right off. Oh, we've got it. We've gone big. And he's hung the nuds out there, the testicles. Sorry about that, Nancy. But he's hung the testicles out there. They're swinging in the breeze. Look at Benny. He's up there cheering. There's Smitty Wynn going up there with his shooters' cap on. High five and Benzo, they're going into a big hug. Is that a passion? No, I don't think it was. Uh oh. I'll have to check for a bit of beer burn later on. Oh, but well done.
SPEAKER_02That was a very good pick, mate. I must say, I was not expecting Smitty Wynn to go there top pick. Although he was in the top five pretty much across every competition last year. So the shooters are off to a good start. Next up, of course, we have your mob, the King Browns bin.
SPEAKER_01How will he fuck this up? Looking at the uh Wranglers, Captain. That's how show Sam. Oh, he's awake now, isn't he? Oh, he looks close to the tears. He's not happy about that at all.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna rip him apart. Lim violim. Told you that. Ruthless, ruthless steel edge. Go, you good thing shooters.
SPEAKER_04Okay, thank you, folks. Thank you. With our number two pick in the marquee draft for Beatleball 19. The King Brown select number 31, Mustard Key Man.
SPEAKER_01Money for Jam, really, there isn't it, boys Mustard Key. Matt been one of the best players in Beat the Ball for a long, long time, and that certainly makes my head feel a lot better this morning. Saving Private has not stuffed up in the least, and he's gone exactly where he should have gone. Boring, boring. It's not boring at all when you've got a winning team, and we've got a fabulous top five, including the skipper, so I am very happy with that indeed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's no way they're letting Mac go on to the upper market, mate, because there would be a bidding war. And that has now been all put to bed with the King Browns choosing pretty much exactly who we expected them to choose.
SPEAKER_00Moving right along, the cattle dogs now step up to the plate. They're skipper one roll, Leber. Give him a wave, everyone up there. There he is. He has selected with his first marquee pick of Beat the Ball 19, number 101. Dukes Row Daniel.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that is a touching moment indeed. Look at that Leber out there. Arms widespread. He's climbing up through the crowd, Dukesrow. He's swinging off the back. Oh, be careful. Yeah, he's up there now. And there is his dad with a big bear hug. His son, he has selected, is the number one mucky pick. What a long way he has come in a few years. And he's handing him his own caftan. Very nice indeed. The boys are very comfortable up there. Amanda Lynn, she's still going very well in the corner. Well done to the Cattle Dogs.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was another one that you'd expect there. Dirk Straight was very strong through the season. He's turned into a great player already, and he's only very young, so that youth policy is certainly coming ahead, Mario. Yes, mate, all youth.
SPEAKER_02That's what we want. A little new blood. Let's get some real stuff going in the energy, mate. We need some energy.
SPEAKER_04Now we have the Crocs, everybody, stepping up to the plate. McCabe McKenna up there with the big C on his chest, and look at him wobble that body. That looking sensational. He goes up to the plate now. His envelope, please, thank you. We have the envelope. And for the Crocs, their number one marquee pick for Beaver Ball 19 is none other than number 38, Roger the Beaver.
SPEAKER_01No real surprises there either, hey boys.
SPEAKER_03No, no, you could expect that. There was a few booze in the crowd there, weren't there, Mario?
SPEAKER_02Yes, mate, they were coming from the cattle dog section. And I don't blame them, mate. Nobody has forgotten what happened. A premiership we lost a couple of years ago, a few years ago now, and it was Sangate Tor and Roger, you know, he is a bit of a villain as far as the cattle dogs are concerned.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, ain't that the truth? But there he is. He's up there now. They've just uh catapulted him up onto their balcony and mixed there, gives him a big bear hug, and he's bought out a painting tin, actually, and started to rip Roger's shirt off him. So I don't know what's going on there. A bit of body painting in the Crocs uh corporate area.
SPEAKER_00Okay, folks, we have a double bunger on the where's the Wranglers. H. Your Sam has sent down two picks. He has back-to-back selections on the turn of Lemon 1 in the marquee draft. And with his first selection, number one marquee for the Wranglers in Beat the Ball 19, is none other than the number 89.
SPEAKER_04He's none other than number one for the cannonball.
SPEAKER_02Well, uh family. Oh, they're keeping it in the family, all right. So child Sam, there he is, smiling down at his brother and his old man as they make their way up. They have their cowboy hats wranglers on. They are giving him a big wave. Oh, there goes the Woshka from Highwire Will. Oh, that's it. There is a good symbol I gotta say. The cattle dogs they woof woof against uh grrr we gotta get that right, but uh the Wranglers they look very happy, but it seems a little bit boring to me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're not wrong, it's the same old, same old, but then again it is the marquee draft. You're trying to win this bloody thing, aren't you? You're not sitting up there, you're not there to fuck spiders, as they say in the classics, and uh he's done what he's expected to do, and he's taken the top two, and he gets another couple to come in after that. So the Wranglers they're off on their way.
SPEAKER_01Ah, they're very similar to the King Browns, they're really settled. They're the two-time premiers. The last two back to back, thank you very much. They don't have to change a lot at all.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but they ain't got Smitty Win no more, do they?
SPEAKER_00Uh welcome back from that short and break for Zivo Global. As you can tell, I'm wearing their wonderful merch outfit adhere with some of the beat the ball stuff as we go into the next pick in the marquee draft. And it's the Crocs once again up there. And they've got pick number two for their team this year, and they have selected number 76. Strength and John.
SPEAKER_03Well, there was lots of wondering about what was going to happen to Jonna. Maybe it was time to cut him loose and get him a fresh start somewhere. But Mikabee is stuck strong there. Look at him over there in the corporate box. Roger's got the big uh R on his chest at the moment, too now. Oh, it's a cypher sore eyes, those two boys over there. They're jumping up and down, boobs wobbling everywhere as uh we can see strength and Johnna. He's gonna be up there soon. He doesn't mind getting his gear off, his kid off either, so I'm sure he'll have a big O pointed right on his right between the nipples once he gets up there into the Crocs uh corporate area.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was another one that was pretty predictable though. So uh we are well done to the Crocs, good for you, yeah, and all that shit.
SPEAKER_04And did it the Cattle Dogs are back at the plate and with their second selection in the Beat the Ball 19 Marquee draft? The skipper Lonroe Leber has selected number sixty-one. Craig's yeah's dude.
SPEAKER_01Well, it certainly sounds like they've gone for the growl now, the cattle dogs with that sound effect. Craig's the 80s, dude. No real surprise over this neck of the woods. How about you boys?
SPEAKER_03No, you've got to expect a pick in Craig's been a cattle dog for a long time. Hey, you've been a roomie with Leber for a long time too, so that's uh completely expected, and we're starting to flatten off a little bit at the moment. We need a little bit of injection of uh some new blood, shall we say? We certainly do.
SPEAKER_02Mario, you must be happy with that. I love Craigs. I love Leber, I love the older cattle dogs, mate, and I I don't mind the gruo. Ah, right there. I can't even say it probably, get my arms rolling. Um, but the cattle dogs are looking pretty good. Uh he's uh now making his way up there with his cattle dogs. I think he may have uh done something special with his hair, Craigsy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's a bit plattered down the back like a fancy horse uh in the Olympics or something. Look at him in there. Oh, he's done a little burst into a little trot there. Big smile for the boys. He's gone in for the group hug, and uh, you know, they're very co- Jeez my goodness, I think someone's just dropped their hand down a bit lower than they should have, you know. It's getting a little bit too cozy over there in the cattle dog corporate area.
SPEAKER_02The cattle dogs are all about love, mate. They're all about love. We love the cattle dogs. Woof woof.
SPEAKER_00King Burns are next up at the plate, everybody, and with their second pick in the beat the ball 19 marquee draft, they have selected number 30, Manscaper Naz.
SPEAKER_01There you go, Ran. You're all over it this year. Yes, he is. He's learning they're going out for all that victory, and I am starting to feel very confident, feeling much better to you after those Panadol. Wonderful effort that Manscaper Naz joins Mustard Key Matt. Yeah, the big surprise there is Manscaper was on the outer last year, left out of the marquee for the first time in bloody ever.
SPEAKER_03He's been on the tour for over 15 years. I'll tell you what, I put a rocket up in because he's come back strong this year through all the comps, and Saving Private has stood there. Here he is, arms crossed, looking down, and he's just given a nod of his head to say, as if to say to the big fella, Well done, you're back in the fold. Come up here and give me a bear hug.
SPEAKER_02It gets a little bit interesting now for you, Lottie. The shooters, they're back in there, they've got a double bunger. Two in a row, they're on the turn.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I know, I know. Oh come on, Bender. You started so well, Benzer, he's up there in Smitty. Look at Smitty, he's into about his seven eighth beer already, and he's uh he's gone a bit cross-eyed. He likes to do that in photos too. Oh, but they're up there, and he's just look, Smitty's looking to see who's coming up there with him.
SPEAKER_04With two picks on the turn between the second round and third round of the Beatleball 19 player draft, the shooters are up. Benza Bear's now sent the envelope down. The pick is in, and for their second pick, the shooters take number 97. Next of win name.
SPEAKER_02He said player draft, it's actually the marquee draft.
SPEAKER_03Who gives a shit? Really, Mario? Who gives a flying stuff? That is sensational. Smitty win. One of his best mates, next of win, Nathan, has been bought over, and the Wrangles have been strangled. Oh, it's happening right before my eyes. I can't believe it. It's like winning Bloody Lotto on your benza. He is into him. And look at Sideshow Sam. Gutted. He's thrown his hat onto the ground in pure disgust. He can't believe he's lost two of his best henchmen over to the shooters, and Benny's just sitting there giving him the glare, the stare. He's saying, I'm not backing down from any of you bastards this year.
SPEAKER_01And the shooters, they are on the run. You've still got another pick to come. This could be absolute carnage coming out of here. Imagine if he took another Wrangler now, my lord.
SPEAKER_00With the first pick in the third round of the Beatle 19 marquee draft. Oh, I'm just getting my breath back. The Wranglers are taking a couple of big hits, and there's one that could come now. Sorry, folks. They digress. The shooters at the plate. The envelope. Their third pick in the marquee draft is number 98. Win Danielson. Genius.
SPEAKER_03He's an absolute fucking genius, Benza Bear. He has upturned the shooters on their head and every other bloody team around. He's gone one-two, caught that, Wranglers, and now he's just delivered an uppercut straight into the diaphragm of the skipper of the Crocs, Mickey B. McKenna, is there with his paint can and brush, ready to paint a big C on his next selection, which may well have been Win Daniel Son, but he's just said no, no, no. Oh, consoling him, Big Roger, that Diva. Oh, they're over there, they're not happy, but Penza, he is just giving it to 'em.
SPEAKER_01Go you shooters. Ah, they're putting together a marvellous team. Those three amigos, they've been mates since they were tiny children together. He's bought them all under the one umbrella and he said we are setting a new standard. And I tell you what, it's enthralling to watch. Now the only bloke who's breathing out and smiling at the moment is Sagew. He thought he was gonna lose another one for a second there.
SPEAKER_02Oh he is, he's feeling the pressure. But Benzaber, he is winning this draft. No doubt about it. The shooters, they are in for the age of Aquarius, mate. It is a new age, the shooters. Pew pew. I shouldn't say that, but uh it's got me excited. I'm pumped for them.
SPEAKER_04How about them two picks, folks? That's livened everyone up, eh? Everyone's looking around. Some people are gasping and they can't believe what they've just witnessed. The King Browns now step up to the plate with their next selection in the Beatle 19 marquee draft. Let's see if we can keep the good times rolling, hey. They have selected number 92, Frogman Grant.
SPEAKER_02I have to say I am a little surprised by that one, mate. Frogman Grant, he's in its pick number three in the Marquise. That means Tank Rider Jace. He's gone back to number four, mate. I can't believe that.
SPEAKER_01That's a just a reward for a fabulous season. Ranning Panner of the Year, Frogman Grant. Goes very well in the Mum's Bum Cup Golf. He's also nice across the board in the other competitions, so I just think the saving Pravit is doing what a good skipper should, and that's rewarding the man for his form. Yeah, but it's pretty harsh on tank rider Jace.
SPEAKER_03Is he on the outer in that group or something? I'm not sure what's going on there because that is a surprise to me too, Mario.
SPEAKER_01It'll be interesting to see what they come up with. They still have a pick to go. It's uh no no brainer who's coming next, you would think.
SPEAKER_02Well, I hope so for that because I tell you what, mate, that would be huge news in the beat the ball world if that tank rider Jace was not their next pick.
SPEAKER_01Doesn't matter. Frogman Grant, welcome up the ladder, my friend. You have thoroughly deserved it.
SPEAKER_00With the Cattle Dogs third pick in the player marquee draft for Beat the Ball nineteen. Skipper Lonrua Leber has selected number fifty-five. Devastating D.
SPEAKER_03Well, it certainly looks like Diva Dave's back in the good books. He uh was missed out last year. He'd been a marquee for many years, and Leber left him out of the top two last year. Of course, we've got three this season uh four this season, sorry. So uh Diva Dave is uh straight back in there. He's been a stalwart for the Cattle Dogs for a long, long time. Very good across most uh comps. He is a former Mum's Bum Cup winner. He's also won uh I think triple B's. He's uh he's up there. I think he's not far off being a Grand Slam champion, but he has been a touch out of form recent years.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it doesn't matter, mate. Look at them, they're all up there together. Arms length, and even Craig's is wearing a calf then now. Very very slimming one, I must say. And they're all got their hands up cheering. Adivadave gives them a tap on his eyebrows if to say, I'll be there in a moment, boys. And the Cattle Dogs, they have their family back together again, going very well. It's a family game for some of these teams, you know that.
SPEAKER_01No doubt about it. And uh again, once and more, we that was to be expected. Let's be honest. The Cattle Dogs are like most of the other teams, they have a solid core, and they're not letting them go. Leber is just going along very quietly there, just picking up his best players one after the other, no dramas. Unfortunately, not can the same can be said for a couple other teams, hey? The uh Wranglers and Crocs, they're they're copping it right between the eyes.
SPEAKER_04With their third pick in the BTB 19 marquee draft, the Crocs are back at the plate. The envelope, thank you. Yep, uh, they have selected number 88.
SPEAKER_01Copy that condo! Yep, well, my friends, that is what you call a declaration of war. The Crocs have just jammed it straight back into Benza Bear's solar plexus, and he is now gasping for breath. Copy that condo, Gonsky. Oh, that's a huge loss for the shooters.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he did get a little bit lost in uh the whole mix there, didn't he, Condo? I must admit I kept quiet on it because I thought he'd go next pick for us. But Mickey Beer said anything you can do, I can do better. So if you're gonna start pinching mine, you've declared war, alright. It's on, like Donkey Kong. Uh so copy that condo, huge loss for us. He was uh second in the club champion last year, and the top three or four is for MVP. Now that one is gonna sting, but overall I'm pretty damn happy, and we've got a lot of youth in there too, which must be starting to sting you a little bit, Mario.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, mate, though, I've gotta say, every time one of those young lads, they're good players, every time they go, I'm starting to think, oh my lord, we're our youth policy is going up in flames, mate. I can't believe it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's on for young and old now. I can't wait. We still have the player draft to come tomorrow. Do you got a few picks here? Yeah, yeah, don't worry. Shooters are up next, thank you very much. Actually, it's those whip cracking Wranglers.
SPEAKER_04With their final two picks on the turn as we head into the final round of the Beatleball 19 marquee draft, the Wranglers have selected number four, Robbo's Pocket Rocket.
SPEAKER_03Well, that was to be expected. They are keeping it in the family. They are family strong. You touched on it earlier, Mario. And uh Robbo's Pocket Rocket, who's been pretty damn good the last couple of years, in particular as a Wrangler. Loving it over there, punter of the year two years ago, been going good in the comps. That's a natural selection. You'd bring him in. So right now, that's looking pretty formidable, that family team that is the Wranglers.
SPEAKER_01Yes, but they still have one selection to go, and as we all know, we've all been wondering what they'll do here. And uh, with next to win, Nathan Smithy Wynn having departed, gone to the shooters, snavelled. Well, it's amazing. Uh, would they be daring to go a rookie in the first year?
SPEAKER_03It's never been done. I had Lyle, our cadet reporter, go through back all the records, back through all the records, I should say. I'm getting very excited now because I'm starting to think that we may have a first in 19 years of the beat the ball. Uh I thought Dukesray might have gone that first year, but he didn't. He didn't go as a marquee, and there's been no other player that's gone as a marquee in the modern era of the beat the ball. So uh they wouldn't dare take Lion Tamer Lockheed, would they?
SPEAKER_02Well they can, mate, they've got too many other good players there, and they know what they're gonna get from those players, and they have earned the right to be there, you know. So I doubt very much they will go him. I think they'll just wrap up someone like a water tank Matt and bring him in. He was he's won that many things last year, mate. He is on fire, so I can't see them leaving out their water tanker, and if they do, it will be at their own peril, mate.
SPEAKER_00With their final selection in the Beatle 19 Marquis draft, the Wranglers choose well, there you go. Number 108, Lion Tamer Locky, the first rookie ever drafted straight into marquee status.
SPEAKER_01He did it. I can't believe it. Sanchez Sam has brought Lo Lion Timer, lucky I can't even spit the words out right now. Straight in Marquee. There you go. No pressure, young man, no pressure at all.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that is a true shock to me. Water team Matt he must be sitting there, head in his hands, thinking, what more can I do? What more do I have to do to show that I am a true blue wrangler? He's been there every step of his journey in the beat the ball, and he's just looked up. Oh, he's the first one over to congratulate young Lockie, wraps a red arm around him. Lockie doesn't really know what to do. An eighteen year old kid, and he's just uh pitchforked straight into it by Side Chow Sam. But they're all up there on the balcony, the Wranglers, they're cheering, clapping above their heads. Come on up here, young fella. You are in the fold.
SPEAKER_02That is an entire family in one fell swoop. They are all related. That is the Toshak Glen, and Saicho Sam has said, okay, if they are gonna rip us apart, we are going to fall back on family, and we are gonna unite as one. And Lion Tamalocky, you are now in there, my friend, but deep end, tell you what, I hope you can swim, young man.
SPEAKER_01Uh does he need to be able to do what? Although in saying that he does have a few around him with plenty of experience, so uh uh, there you go. It's been ups and downs a roller coaster today, this play player marquee draft. I've gotta say, I need a good lay down in the back.
SPEAKER_04With their final pick in the beat the ball 19 Marquis Draft, the Crocs through Captain Mickamy McKenna select number 86, Gold Digger Gabby.
SPEAKER_03And just when you think the Wrangles are back on their feet and their delirious happiness has just dissolved in front of our very eyes. They've just lost their third one. Gold Digger Gaverby, an integral part of that team last year, top eight in the triple B's tipping. He was fabulous against all comps, and his mum's mum cup performance was probably his best ever. And now Sideshow Sam is just looking down at his boots. Uh the spurs are not even jangling a little bit as he he watches Golddigger Gaverby select the old Crocs hat and off he goes.
SPEAKER_01Well, they've had a bit of a tug of war, those two teams, about Golddigger Gaverby for ages. As we know, he is one of the uh Mikabee clan members, and he was there last year, I believe, and he came back to the Wranglers for Beataball 18, Beat the Ball 19, the Crocs have said no, we'll take him, thank you very much. And the decimation continues for that Wranglers team.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I wouldn't write them off, mate. They are still very strong looking at that, but they are relying on a little bit of luck in that player draft tomorrow because they have lost some big, big names and great players. So it has been very exciting, alright. A little bit boring to begin with, but my goodness, the fireworks, they have gone off.
SPEAKER_03Too right, they have led by the shooters and the crocs. And it's just been all in and all on for everyone.
SPEAKER_00With their final pick in the Beatle 19 Marquee draft, the Cattle Dogs select number 24, Giria Star.
SPEAKER_02Any surprises there, Mario? Not really, mate. Gidea stuff. He has been coming back into form, and we know he has been around the tour for a long, long time. He is a former triple B tipping champion, a Mum's Mum Cup champion, and he's also won their panda of the year, so he is very crossed their boy. He has been a bit down on form, but I think Lebba has just said no, I can see he's back in it. His head is back in the game, and he is going to be a very integral part of this cattle dog, and we're gonna be good. We're looking very strong at the top, like a lot of teams are, I've gotta say. I'm very happy with that one.
SPEAKER_01Yep, but that was a bit of a no-brainer there when you look at the rest of them. On trend Wes, so I must have been very close to being selected in that fourth and final marquee spot. But uh, I'm sure they'll be doing their best to get Wes back in there as quickly as possible. Yeah, but they don't get to select this year, don't forget. Ah, I keep forgetting that. Uh the skippers do not pick from this point on. Ah, comes down to the lottery, the player drafter. It will be interesting to see. On-trend Wes, that is a bit of a gamble, as far as I'm concerned. Not me, I think it's pretty good, pretty safe. Give his stuff, he'll be up there, he'll be doing his best, and he'll be there.
SPEAKER_03Come Mums Bum Cup time. And you've got to remember the catalogues have had a lot of boys who have won in recent years. So that golf at the end of the season, they're gonna have a lot of fellas off half their handicaps or still making their way back up to where they should be after taking out the Mum's Bum Cup. Wes is in that group, Diva Dave, Craig's 80s dude, Tango Tom. He needs some golfers, Leber. You'll have him and Dukesrow, and I think Girias coming in to shore that right up for them, going into next year's Mum's Bum Cup. I think it's a very astute move.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, me too. Lebba, very smart man. Well done. Go, you cattle dog.
SPEAKER_04With the second to last pick in the Beatle 19 Marquee draft, the King Browns, via Saving Private, their captain, have selected number 90 Tank Rider Jace.
SPEAKER_01Job done. Well done, Ryan. That's a great marquee draft as you look at that King Brown team. Tank Rider Jace just tops it off nicely. That is an incredibly solid top five going into the season. Very happy with that indeed. Yeah, looking at it, there's not many holes in that top five. Very bloody boring, but uh well, we've been building to this for years. This isn't something that's happened overnight, and uh why change something that's starting to work? Yeah, well we'll see how you end up with the rest of that player draft tomorrow.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, hats off, QDOS, uh saving private. He hasn't stuffed anything up this year. It's all looking pretty damn good, and they are very strong.
SPEAKER_02Yes, they are, mate, but you look across all the teams, they are all pretty strong now. It's gonna be a competition unlike the last couple of years, I think so. Nice work to the King Browns. Tank Roder Joe's a very good player. He is gonna be there in the Mums Bum Cup. He goes very well in the tipping and on the punting, and it's only a matter of time before he has a really huge season. You know what I'm saying? He finished third, I think it was, in the Tarot Trophy this year over twelve events.
SPEAKER_01I think he could be almost the boy of the year. Well, we haven't had to buy him, he's as loyal as you get, and so are the King Browns. One more to go, and then we've got our final marquee teams coming up for the season. Ha, let's get it on.
SPEAKER_00With his final selection in the Beat the Ball 19 Marquee draft, Sandy Krotz selects numbers one, six, seven, fourteen, and eighteen. Ladies, you have done a fabulous job. More than welcome back at my room after this. Give me that microphone.
SPEAKER_04Get in. Alright. With the final pick of the Beat the Ball 19 Marquis draft, the shooters select number 100, Josh DeSarge.
SPEAKER_02Oh, he's anughty boy. He just can't help himself, can he, Sandy? Although a good selection, so the Ringos did a magnificent job today, and Sandy was obviously paying very close attention.
SPEAKER_03I'll forget about that, Josh and DeSarge. He's back in the shooters fold. There was a bit of uh speculation around what would happen with Joshin. I must admit I sat there thinking he deserves a second chance. He had a down year last year, but his year before that was fantastic. I think Benzaber has done an absolutely sterling job on this shooters team this year. It's been a great marquee day, and I'm very happy. I'm looking forward to going out and celebrating with those shooters' boys tonight. As I look over in their corporate box and they are dead set, loving it. The music's on there, dancing, singing, oh their drinks filling everywhere. They are up and about the boys.
SPEAKER_01First time they've been like that in quite a while. Yeah, but it wasn't a bad effort at all. The King Browns are over there doing the same. They've got the disco ball out there, the curtains are drawn, and they are already into parte mode as a look over at the Wranglers, and a little more subdued, but they seem pretty damn chirpy just the same. So they're obviously happy with uh what they've got and what they've done. Uh cattle dogs uh all sitting around in a circle, eyes closed, meditating, wonderful to see, good effort.
SPEAKER_02Oh, they are one, they unite as one already. Very good to see. Oh the cafeteria and gurious, I'm not really sure it's his look, but it doesn't matter, he will grow into it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but no worries at all there. And of course the crocs, uh they've they're all a little bit out of line at the moment. Uh at the moment they've spelled C O C S, so they've lost their R somewhere.
SPEAKER_03Oh, the the Cocks. Oh, there they go. Look at them. They don't really care either. They've got paint splattered all over them. They're now doing a bit of pro artwork inside their corporate area. Uh they're they're looking good, but uh I'm sure there's a plenty of things we can discuss and talk about. I can't believe you did that, Sandy. Seriously. Seriously. It would have been such a professional performance and you go and do that.
SPEAKER_00It was a bit of fun, you know, lighting it up a bit. And besides, the you don't let an opportunity slip like that, do you? It's not often I get in the lame light in the middle of a boxing ring surrounded by beauties. Uh as if I'm not gonna give a wink and a nudge and uh put in a good word for myself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, it's just not on. I'm gonna have a talk to Bruce and the boys about you.
SPEAKER_00Oh, do what you like, stick it up your ass, I don't care on it. It's been a great day.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think just ease up a bit, Ronnie. You did well, both of you. It's been a fabulous day. You know, what do we do from here? But it looks like the crowd's going nuts, the music's right up. I see that there's Bruce Springsteen down in the crowd and someone's throwing him a guitar. Oh, Beyonce, she's out there just shaking it up and putting a ring on things. Uh, what are we gonna do? Well, we're gonna come back for a quick review of what's happened today. We'll recap the teams, uh, and then we hopefully we'll go out and celebrate ourselves and we'll get into the player draft tomorrow. Sounds like a plan to me, mutt! Well, there we are, everyone. What an afternoon. Beyonce down there getting the crowd really going now. It's been a huge party atmosphere, been a great marquee podcast. Now we've got to have a little bit of a look back and see just what the teams did. Overall, you must be pretty happy with the shooters, Laurie. They were definitely changing things up and turn the whole thing on its head. Oh, I can't believe Benza Bear did so bloody well. He's done sensationally. If we look at that shooters team now, just for the top half, bottom half coming tomorrow, of course, with the players' draft. And we none of us really know how that's gonna pan out. It'll be a shitload of fun, but uh not sure how it's gonna work out. But look at that top five for the shooters this year. Benzaber, up top skipper. So Smitty Win, first one up, number one in the draft pick. Sensational. Next of Win Nath, bring him in. That is unbelievable, those top three. Win Danielson, add him to the mix, and I'll tell you, those other two will help lift him up another notch. And then Josh and the Sargent, that's a sensational top five. We've got blokes like next to win Nath, Smitty Win in particular, have been of thereabouts in all the comps. Benzabear, he's been very similar. He's got his hoof on the till for winning the uh Mum's Bum Cup as well. And Josh and the Sargent, we all know the form that he can find, so really happy with that. Uh were there any that sort of surprised anyone that were left out of the shooters' team when you look at it?
SPEAKER_00Without doubt for me, it was copy that condor. You've got a guy who was second in club champion, he plays off a single handicap and golf or thereabouts, uh, and he is getting better and better each year. I I found that quite surprising that they let him go or they pushed him down a bit and then that was the end of it.
SPEAKER_03Well, no, he was actually picked as one of the marquee players originally from Benzer, and then he's just decided the strategy he had to, and I think it's fair enough too. You've got to have a complete sweep out sometimes, and to get those shooters moving again, he decided uh yeah, up with the old and him with the new. It was a fabulous pickup by the Crocs though. You've got to say that was impressive. Mickey B. McKenna. Uh Roger that Diva Strength and Johnnah, well, they spoke for themselves as his number one and two picks. He snavelled copy that condo. Uh it almost seemed retaliatory uh for taking Wynne Danielson across. Uh, but that's a huge pickup. You know, that that what if that had gone to the player draft tomorrow, it would have been all sorts of people clamouring and and offering condo all sorts of incentives to pick their team. Uh and then Golddigger Gaverby, who once again has been one of the unsung and most underrated players in the whole beat the ball the last few years, uh and he's picked him up to go in there. So that's a very solid top five.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, mate, but he left out Joshaby next. He left out Nicoby rising. That's his own blood, mate, you know.
SPEAKER_01What's he gonna do about that? Uh he'll be fine, they'll be fine. We don't know how the player draft's gonna end up, but at the moment, uh Mickey's always been the same, you know. The Crocs have been down the last few years. They've been finishing second or third, thereabouts, but a long way off the pace. He knew changes needed as well, and he's gone for a team. Look fistful of experience there. Roger that divis strength and John a copy of that condo. They've been there for, you know, decades, and Gold Digger Gaverby, he's not far behind them, so I don't mind that at all.
SPEAKER_03All right, well, looking at the King Browns in in their final top five. Uh any surprises for anyone there? Oh, not at all. Boring as batshit.
SPEAKER_00I gotta say, there's not a lot that I didn't expect to happen. Maybe Frogman Grant going above tank rated Jace, but that's all semantics really, isn't it? Uh he had his top five in lane and he's nailed it. I don't think he's made any blues there whatsoever.
SPEAKER_02No, that's pretty tough, mate. Must have key Matt, very good player. Manscaper Mads, he's up there. Frogman Grant, tank rider Jace. Add them to saving private, and he might be the worst out of the five of them. Who knows? And I don't mean that in a disrespectful way. That is just how tough and and how good that five are.
SPEAKER_03Yes, they are. They're looking very strong. So we've got the shooters looking strong, the crocs looking strong, the King Brown's looking strong.
SPEAKER_00Uh that leaves the Wranglers. And and what do we think about that? Uh we were just decimated to. In all honesty, it probably should have happened a little bit last year. Uh it didn't, and now this year we're paying for our success. You know, Sachor Sam, I think he's done a fabulous job. He can't not take Haywaia Will and Craig's Carnival. You know, they've been they're right up the top in everything. Uh Robo's pocket rocket has been very strong the last couple of years. You know, maybe not quite in that top echelon, but he's certainly not far behind. And and the big one, of course, which brings a lot of joy to the group and an injection of new energy, is Lion T Malocky, so I like that. Yeah, that was a huge surprise to me.
SPEAKER_03I first time a rookie's ever been taken in a marquee draft. I can see why with the family ties, but in saying that too, it's a big risk.
SPEAKER_02I don't think so, mate. I think if you look around him, and they can all play a bit, they've all been around the traps a long time. I'm sure Lion Tim Malocke, if he's uh half as good as some of those players, he is going to be someone to be reckoned with. Don't worry about that one, mate.
SPEAKER_03I have to agree with you there, Mario. I'd I'd not shocked completely, uh, but it is, you know, a big risk. But there we go. Cattle dogs. Mario, what's going on there?
SPEAKER_02Well uh we were going to hopefully get some use, but it's it's looking very little like there's gonna be much use around, mate. We got Lono Rebba, Dukes like Daniel Craig's the eight is too devastating Dave and Girias stuff. That's rock solid, that top five.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't know, Girias has been off the boil for the last couple of years. I I don't know if I would have gone him.
SPEAKER_02On trend Wes is sitting there, but Yeah, but Wes has got the golf handicap now in trouble, and uh you know I can understand why he went to Girias and hopefully on trend comes back in.
SPEAKER_03Alright, so they're all looking absolutely fantastic and fabulous, no doubt about that. But we've got to look at the players who are left in the player draft. And as we know it's been randomly done this year, and the players will pick their teams. It'll be interesting for starters who will go the number one pick in the player draft. Which player will step up and pick his team?
SPEAKER_02Well, who knows, mate? Roll their dice, spin their wheel, spin their bottle, do whatever you want to do.
SPEAKER_03There's some good players out there though. Let's have a look at who is going to be available, and some of these teams will have fingers crossed, toes crossed, everything crossed, hoping that they come into them. Uh Warwick Farmfeller, he's been strong for years, walks back. Uh he missed the Mum's Bum Cup this year, but was pretty good in all the other comps. Uh the Wranglers wouldn't mind getting him back, nor would a few others. Come later, Ronste. He came back with a bang. His performance in the Mum's Bum Cup was good. Uh some of the other comps around that uh he did well. He won one of the Tattoo Trophy events early on in the season, beat them all 18. Uh, so he's there. Barnes' boy Dave. Well, Cambo's been a shooter for most of his life, and I dare say he would like to get back there. Uh would anyone be picking any of those three up?
SPEAKER_00I'm not sure that you're gonna go straight to those three when there's some of the other names coming up that I can see right now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I've got to say the same, mate. Grunt and Growen, he's still there. Now look, with the golf side of things in particular, here's one you would like to have in your back pocket for their mum's bum cup of next year. Rynstein, Graham, mate, I cannot get over this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's just absolute madness. You've got a Grand Slam champion just sitting there. It'll be interesting to see where he goes. He's got a bit of a history at uh, you know, multiple teams, the shooters, the cattle dogs, the croc. I don't believe he's ever been a King Brown or a Wrangler, but uh Graham finally gets to pick his team, so maybe that's a blessing for him. Yeah, good point. Must must be.
SPEAKER_03Uh Nickabee rising. Uh third in the goal. He's gonna be thereabouts again next year, you'd assume. He's his comps weren't too bad, so I imagine the Crocs are hoping he gets a fairly high pick in that player draft and he comes back to them. Metro Matt, Tango Tom. There's another couple there. Tango Tom had a pretty solid season, uh, and he has a crack in all the comps. Are you surprised that maybe he didn't go in that fourth marquee spot? Uh not really. I I there was a toss-up between probably three of 'em. Uh Tango's been pretty damn good. He had a good season last year, solid play, so he'll be a good pickup for wherever he goes, where he decides to go.
SPEAKER_01On Trend Wiz, we've discussed, Trend said of Todd, do you think he'll be back in the King Browns? Uh comes down to exactly where he gets in the player draft. Is he's pick three and he chooses the King Browns? Well, he'll be back in the fold, no worries at all, and we will welcome him back with open arms, the Stefan Wolfe Award winner.
SPEAKER_03Alright, well Josh will be next. Surprises me. He had a really good year last year, and he has improved year on year on year. Uh I I just found it fascinating that uh he was left out altogether with his brother Nickabit. Yeah, well, I guess where he goes in that draft, we keep coming back to it, but that's what it's gonna be about. It's a lottery draw. So whoever gets uh up near those top sort of half a dozen picks, they'll get to go to whichever team they like. Plenty of gaps around, so uh I wouldn't be surprised if uh maybe Mick rolled the dice a little bit there for the Crocs. Alright, General Buckley's, he is the reigning Mums Bum Cup champion along with Wes, the two of them. Uh surpr excuse me, surprised that he was not back in the King Brown fold?
SPEAKER_00No, not early. Uh when I look at it, a Buckley's doesn't go in the comps that much. Uh he's now gonna suffer a huge handicap deficit. He may find himself in a new team altogether. Well, that is a possibility for every one of them.
SPEAKER_03Cassius Paul, Major Mortar. Uh they're both going to be looking to get back into their teams, they think.
SPEAKER_01I'm not so sure. Major Mortar, he might take the opportunity to head back to the King Browns, although he was pretty good for the shooters over there this year. If anyone has suffered a tough hit, it's probably Morta, you know. And I imagine that Benny came down to that last selection with Josh and it came down to Josh and a Major Mortar. And Mortar, well, he'll be hoping for a higher pick in that draft.
SPEAKER_03This is the one that has just astounded me. And as a Wrangler's man, Sandy, you must find this uh a little confusing. Water tank Matt, we've got our current Tattoo Trophy champion, our current Triple B champion. The man won a stack of other contests around that last year, and he now finds himself sitting in the player draft.
SPEAKER_00I I do I I mean my head went to my hands at one point. Uh that last pick obviously came down to laying team alockey and water tank Matt. No wonder Sachor Sam barely slept for a couple of days trying to work out which way to go there. He's gone for I think a long-term fix, uh something. He's looking to hold that team together, I'd say that uh top half of that team, and he's had to take a punt. He knew they were gonna come for him, the other captains, he knew that they were gonna take players this year. They couldn't afford to let them do what they've done the last two years, and that is scoot out to huge leads and and not being able to be run down over the Mums Bum Cup weekend. It's a water tank, Matt, you know, they would be praying to the uh beat the ball gods that he gets an early pick in that player draft and and he actually chooses them.
SPEAKER_02And maybe he gets his shits, mate, and says, you know what? Screw you, I am not coming back there because I am not respected for the player I am.
SPEAKER_00I think that's a bunch of horseshit to be totally honest, Mario. They respect and love the big fella. It's just a matter of you can only keep so many, and then you've got a prey that they come back to you.
SPEAKER_03Well, add to that water tank, Matt. And I'm looking under that name and you've got Big Win Neil. How the hell is he not a marquee player for the croc?
SPEAKER_01I don't know, my daddy's a head scratcher. Yeah, cher. He's flying right under the radar this year, Big Win Neil. He was in the top six in the MVPs, and he's just been left out hung out there to drive by the croc skipper. He's gonna be a huge pickup. Do you think he'll go back to the crocs?
SPEAKER_03Say he goes in that first ten or so picks in the player draft. Do you think Big Win Neil will actually pick the croc or will he be he'd be a little dirty on the way they've treated him?
SPEAKER_00I think they all get it, to be honest, all the players, and and you know they like their teams and they know where they want to be. So I I can imagine that he'd he'd probably choose the crocs. I'm not sure if he'd choose the Wranglers. Uh the other teams, I don't think he spent any time in 'em. Uh perhaps the shooters in year one, but I'm not sure that he'd be going back there. Although when you look at it, next to Win Nath Wynn Danielson, two of his sons are in that team and Smithy when his is basically like a third son, so I wouldn't be surprised if Big Win Neil actually took the shooters.
SPEAKER_03That's a good point, mate. I like that a lot. All right, Ericaby arrives.
SPEAKER_01Uh do are we surprised there? I don't think you can be. Ericaby's improving, no doubt about it, but he he wasn't in that top four or five. Uh that's not to say he won't be in a year or two. He's getting much better at everything, and uh I'll give Eric one big pat on the back. He has a crack at everything. You gotta love that in your players and your team. He really Harry, another young guy.
SPEAKER_03Uh do you think he would gravitate back towards the shooters? Uh or would he maybe look to uh join up with some of the younger members, such as Lion Toma Locke, and and they form some sort of partnership that could go for a long time. Yeah, I don't think he will. I think he'd probably go back to the shooters, and it might come down to where, you know, Daggo's come later on Steve. They're a fairly fairly formidable duo, so that might be the case.
SPEAKER_00Well, that leaves us with Erwin Geordie.
SPEAKER_03What do we think he'll do? Well he's tight with all those boys over in the shooters as well, so it it wouldn't be a surprise at all if he selected the shooters. Uh again, it'll come down to that lottery draw, but uh that would be good. And that leaves us with the rookies. Oh, the rookies, this will be interesting. This is where seasons are won and lost, and on how good the rooks turn out to be. Uh Big Top Al, do we know any of his leanings or where he'd like to go?
SPEAKER_00I don't believe we do. He does know some of the boys in the Wranglers. He does uh know a couple of other boys too. He knew Girias a bit years ago, maybe a cattle dog. He may look at the cattle dogs and think, yeah, that's where I want to go. It will all come down to it depends on where he he gets to actually pick. Clucky Miyagi, uh, where would he go, do you think? I think he'd probably gravitate towards the Wranglers or possibly the shooters. Uh the crocs would be a chance too. It depends how where the other players go above him, I think.
SPEAKER_02And then Spin Smith and Liam, where we have our eye on him. We would like we like good punters, and we think he could be alright, and we hear he's not too bad with a go off either. Uh year one is always tough for the rookies in the golf, but uh he we we we would like to maybe talk to Spin Smith and Liam.
SPEAKER_03Well that's a good point. Overnight there will be a lot of discussion between captains and players, I imagine, as those lotto balls roll out tomorrow and they they get picked to pick make their pick. Uh would there be any incentives from the skippers to actually go and see some of these players overnight and and maybe offer them uh you know some nice contract or something that would bring them to their team.
SPEAKER_01That's a pertinent point. I know I'd be out there straight up into 'em, you know, what do you want? How can we get you over to what? And then if it doesn't happen, well you're in no worse spot, are you?
SPEAKER_03I think that may be the order of the day. I can already see some of the skippers down there talking with various other beataballers, the guys who will be in that player draft. And that's the beauty of this whole thing, isn't it? The marquees get done today, but then the value just flips over straight into the players, and the players actually hold a lot of power this year, and it'll be interesting to see how they use that power to uh you know get themselves into a team that may win a premiership. Uh have a lot of fun along the way doing it.
SPEAKER_01We've got one more to go, of course, Corporal Crowbar, friend of General Buckley's. Uh you would imagine he would gravitate towards the King Browns. He he knows uh if he knows uh General, I imagine he knows some of the other boys, uh, and that's where I would expect him to go, and we probably think he may go.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but those skippers might get in his ear and say, Alright, what what what are you bringing to the table, big fella? Come over, join us, and we'll look after you and have a good time.
SPEAKER_06Damn, man, what the hell are you doing? This guy will knock you on your ass.
SPEAKER_00I'm not sure if Corporal Krawbar will do just that, but it's been a huge dance team to go out now, boys. What do you see? That's a wrap.
SPEAKER_03I believe it is. It's been a sensational day. Uh just quickly before we go, who wins today, boys? Who do you think? Not even close. Shooters absolutely smashed it up. It's a done and dusted deal, and I thought Benza Bear was absolutely outstanding. MVP of the day, Ben Benny.
SPEAKER_00I like to think that the Wranglers did pretty well even considering who we lost. Uh the Crocs did okay. I thought that was a huge pickup with copy of that condor, so maybe after the shooters they they might be second.
SPEAKER_01Are you forgetting about the King Browns? Yeah, you're all sitting there because there was nothing really done to get you all excited, but I am very excited, I tell you, and uh I like what I'm seeing. I think they did extremely well. They're up there with the shooters for the picks of the day. Don't you worry about that.
SPEAKER_02I have to agree a little bit there, mate. The King Browns are looking awfully strong. The shooters are looking exciting. The Kettle Dogs, we're looking like we always look. We're gonna be there for a long way, and do not underestimate us. And uh the other teams, well the Crocs, I think they did okay. And I think the shooters, uh sorry, the Wranglers, they did okay too.
SPEAKER_03Alright, boys, Lattle Lewis. We'll be back here early tomorrow morning. Special guest Chuck Asicki, he's coming in to uh give us a rundown from a locals perspective on how the beat of the ball marquee and player drafts are impacting things and uh the interest that's around. Seanara for now. I believe it's Sayonara. Well, I'm getting a little bit dusty and I'm sorry earlier, Sandy. I did jump on you.
SPEAKER_00Any chance you got any phone numbers out of that? No, but if you look down now you'll see the boxing wing and uh the numbers one, six, eight, seventeen, and fourteen are now placed there. Oh, you made a couple of changes late, did you? I see from your running order. Uh no, others have prayer engagements, but uh we bought some people in off the bench. We had our own little marquee draft, shall we say.
SPEAKER_01Alright then, I'm a hattie, boys. I'm heading back to the Fanwan room I found myself in last night. By the way, my Huey Hefner couldn't have been there. No, I thought that later on it wasn't Huey at all, it was Huey Jackman, uh the Aussie actor. Fabulous fella too. He was in there singing, dancing, carrying on, but uh great night, and I'm heading back there. Anyone want to come with me? Uh nothing you might. Uh no, I have something on, as you can see.
SPEAKER_03I think I might uh yeah, I'm gonna go and find a square room that I can walk around.
SPEAKER_04And I will be doing the form for tomorrow. Big massive day be the ball nineteen player draft coming at you live tomorrow.
SPEAKER_00Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, be the ball.
