The PodBoffins reveal the final 3 tour destinations to be voted on for the 20th Anniversary Tour. They also cover all the weekend action in the BTB comps.

SPEAKER_01

Hello, hello, hello, be the ballers, and welcome in. We've just finished another round of play. Week six of the season done and dusted, and it was as usual very tight across all competitions. How are you, Laurie? What have you been up to? Friday, we went out to uh see Wynne Danielson had his 30th uh surprise golf day out there at uh Macquarie Lynx and I tell you my goodness, his birthdays are running on forever.

SPEAKER_02

This is the the Queen's inaugurations don't take this long. How many parties has the guy had?

SPEAKER_01

Well he deserves every one of them, mate. He's a shooter. And I'll tell you what, it was great fun. He got surprised, very surprised. His uh his lovely wife, Kat. She said she was taking him to Kingsley Steakhouse and he rocked up and saw the eleven guys or twelve guys waiting for him, and uh he nearly burst into tears. He wasn't gonna get that big, fat, juicy steak he was after, but it was good fun. Shooters everywhere. All right, we'll come to back come back to that in a moment. And how about you, Mario? What did you get up to?

SPEAKER_00

Well, mate, I uh actually went out and ran into bumped into uh Big Top L on Saturday, mate, down at the local pub, and uh we decided to have a beer, and uh that beer lasted for about eleven hours. So it was glad to see him uh and a few other boys here, but uh Big Top L he was in fine form. Not happy with his tips in the triple B's, but uh that's about where my memory ran out. The beer was good, the company excellent, and uh Sunday was a complete write-off.

SPEAKER_01

You wouldn't be the only one who has Sundays like that, especially at the moment it's been quite chilly. Uh uh we're nearly through August, though, a mild winter overall. Uh Ben, anything that you did on the weekend? I witnessed a mugging. Can you believe that?

SPEAKER_00

Oh really, mate, that's terrible. Are you okay?

SPEAKER_01

I'm fine, but there's a pack of panthers that are busted and wounded because on that Friday night football game they got absolutely mauled, molested, and detested by those warriors. I tell you what, they announced themselves on the stage that uh I thought about it all weekend. They just absolutely pumped them. Yeah, we'll get to that a little bit later in the show, but uh that's pretty good. Tango Tom had her thirtieth birthday last week too.

SPEAKER_00

Happy birthday t no, actually not, because he is no longer a cattle dog. He chose to leave, mate.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, he did indeed, and he's now a croc, so I'll wish you happy birthday, Tango Tom, on behalf of the crocs. I'm not sure that a lot else was going on. There is the small matter, Ron, of where we may be touring in Beatleball 20 anniversary year. I believe that we have our final three destination location nominations. A lot of Asians in there. Just like Chinatown might Yes, I suppose so, Mario. Um and we've got our three finalists, I believe, Ron. Yeah, we'll get to that later in the show. We're going to announce the three finalists, which will be voted upon by all BTB members this week. Uh and we'll get to the details and rules of that. Uh Will Cannier didn't make it, uh, which will disappoint Frogman Grant no end. Uh Parks. He even threw Forbes in there this year. Uh Twin Towns, basically, those two, Ronnie. Uh, he's been nominating Parks for a long, long time, decades, and uh once again it failed to get a second vote from anyone. So those two places are definitely out of the running. Uh, we do have a prize, third one, I I believe, so it'll be worth tuning in for that. Uh, just going back to you and the golf on Friday, how was it looking from a mum's bum perspective, uh, Laurie? Oh, I gotta say, there were shooters everywhere, next to Win Nath, uh, Win Danielson, of course, and then we had Smitty Win. It was like an ex-wrangler get together. It was indeed. You seemed a bit sad out there looking at all the players on on Friday, Sandy.

SPEAKER_02

Well, what do you mean?

SPEAKER_01

Well, we had Craig's Carnival out there, Water Tank Matt. And the other boys, there was a handful of ex-ranglers. You can throw in Big Win Neil, who's also playing for the Crocs these days. Uh, it used to be a Wrangler reunion, essentially. Hey, we'll he put his noise in too, and actually plead not too bad for a gay off 6,000 in a handicap. Um, but it was uh a tad melancholy. Yeah, I was watching uh Carnival. He he had a hit too, and I tell you, my my goodness, it's lucky the Mum's Bum Cup's not been played tomorrow. You know that bastard lost 13 golf balls. He spent more time looking over fences and staying inside the fences, and he looked a man beaten coming up that seventeenth hole. He refused to even tee off with a driver. He just took an eight-hine out and uh proceeded to lose a ball then, too. That's a good game at times, isn't it, the old golf. All right, fellas, uh, nice start. Let's get into it, and we'll start with Triple B's. Big basket bit. Just before we get into the triple B's, uh, tell me, Sandy, were there any rookies out there on Friday that you saw?

SPEAKER_02

There was indeed. Uh Spin Smith Liam, I tell you what, he can bought he can send that golf ball too. Not unlike a cricket ball at times.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was watching him. He had a he had a googly, he also had, you know, the flipper. Uh, there was plenty of flippers that he had when he was playing golf. He sort of smacks the golf ball a little bit like a lower order batsman. He just comes in and swings hard for Cow Corner. Right, then uh anyone else? Oh yeah, Clarky Miyagi.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, isn't he an absolute ninja with a pattern in his hand? Mr. Miyagi would have been proud. A little bit like a sumo wrestler with some of his other clubs on the day, you know, a little bit flabby around the edges. Uh, but he was there. They're both having a great time in beat the ball, a wrangler and a shooter. There were plenty out there, it was great to see.

SPEAKER_01

All right, alright, so let's get down to the results for the weekend tipping. Uh and we went to the three states. Uh Caulfield Heath, my goodness, what a cow paddock that was.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, mate, I was looking at it on TV and it's like, why do they spend all their water on the outside course and then not use it and then throw all these horses into a confined space on a dead set dog track, mate. I was waiting for the dish lickers to run in between them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was uh not looking great up there. Uh sorry, down there. Up there uh in Eagle Farm in Brisbane. That was a good day's racing on a good track in Sydney. Uh they've had very little rain out a fair bit overnight, but uh other than that it was on a a relatively decent track. I think it got up to a good rating of four as well. For that's for the race goers out there, you know, uh obviously good tracks and soft fives around there, that's where the favourites tend to come through. But we had a bit of a surprise winner this weekend, Mario. Did we? What?

SPEAKER_00

He has found the form that made him a grand slam champion, and that is Rhinstein Graham. He was parched over from was it the shooters or the crocs? He's been on the roundabout of teams over the last few years. Rhinestone Graham, he produced some of the form from his high day, mate. 133.6. He took out the week in second spot.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, that was Robo's pocket rocket. What a great start to the year he's had. 120.88. Those two were going along, hammer and tong, and Rhinestone Graham pulled away over that last hundred with another big surprise for the Trifector.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I wouldn't have mind hadn't a dollar on the playout for this trifecta on the weekend. Uh, Metro Matt. Ah, it's so good to see the big fella up there. He's been an underrated player for many years, and uh, he got up there through his selection of the digit seven. Uh, seven's his number, obviously, and uh, I tell you what, he played it beautifully this week, not putting his tips in and going to his default backup number. Yeah, a little bit of luck there. 119.5. He wasn't far off running second, so he picks up a point there as we flip over to the monthly medal. Gold digger Gaverby after the first two weeks of August, five-week block, by the way, boys. Uh, 218.2. He leads out. Quite a handy lead, too. He's got a nice little buffer. Rhinestone Graham slips up into second, 176.8. And in third for the monthly medal, Robbo's Pocket Rocket 175.48. For the weekly, uh, I'll tell you what, there was a big scope. Trendset at Todd 24.4. He had a really rough week, uh, number three not doing a lot. Saving private, 27.1. Uh, and Corporal Crowbar, 31.8. General Buckley 31.8. Uh Josh will be next, same. And here early Harry. Yeah, they all took number six most of those guys, and I tell you what, it was a six-less weekend for a lot of these fellas on a dry spell. Uh, and there's a lot of King Browns down there, Ben. What do you think about that? It was only one week, of course, but when you have five of the bottom eight or so, my goodness, you start to worry long term about it. Well, you can't get rid of this comp too easy, like write it off. It's one of the big pillar events, and you need your team to perform well in this over the course of the entire year. As we go to the yearly leaderboard, uh, Golddigger Gaverby out there on top in front, being in fantastic form for those mighty crocs. Slap slap, crack, crack, whatever it is. Snap, snap, that's the one. I knew it was something like that. Crack, crack, mate. It's always a well you're a very sick duck. Well, yeah, maybe. Well, Golddigger Gaverby, 559.8. He's got a 58 point lead at the moment. Robbo's pocket rocker. He just keeps keeping keeping on, and he's moved into second now on 501. They're the only two players over the 500 mark at this stage of the season. Wynne Danielson just going along very quietly. You know, he's had a big few weeks, you know, or for 48 weeks celebrating his 30th birthday. He's in third, 488, 0.44. Rhinestone Graham's only uh half a point behind him now. He's firmly entrenched in that top eight. Uh, the rest of the top eight, Josh will be next in fifth. On trendware's Dukes Ray, Daniel 6 and 7, Manscaped and Nad's eight. So in the top eight, we have three cattle dogs. So this new strategy that the skipper Lonroe Leber has employed is working beautifully. Because just outside the eight for the cattle dogs, they've got three more. Devastating Dave, the skipper himself, and Cassius Paul. But now we're getting to that pointy end of the month very, very shortly. Well, we're at the halfway mark next week, so that will be interesting because it is the five-week block, so week three, but we haven't had any uh eliminations as yet, but we know at the end of this month there will be four, the back to dust, so to speak. Yeah, and it's uh looking pretty good for the shooters, eh? We got no one in anywhere near that. Okay, you got things, pure, pure. Well, you don't. Uh the King Browns are in a world of pain, let's be honest. In the bottom eight, they've got four. Uh Grunt and Growen, he's barely above the uh red river of you know debilitation. Uh Lion Tamalockey from the Wranglers, the young rookie, he's struggling to uh make up much on the field, and Corporal Crowbar. Now they sit just above the bottom four, but there's only about nine points between Erikaby arrives in fourth last and Corporal Crowbar. But Ericaby, he's over at the Cattle Dogs. He reached out to the skipper for a bit of help last week and had a much better week, did Ericaby. So uh I'd keep an eye on him. He might be able to scramble out of that bottom four. Uh uh Nickabee rising. There's a surprise. Uh Captain Croc won't be happy about this. Uh he'll be right into him. And they all went. The Crocs had a bit of a team building exercise. They all did the City to Surf over the weekend on Sunday down there in Sydney. And uh they were all wearing uh aces, I believe, or playing cards. I saw some photos. Uh I'm sure it's all over the media as well. Uh, you know, the Crocs are in town. Uh, and they all looked fabulous as they took on Heartbreak Hill and no doubt sunk about a thousand schooners soon after. So well done on that one, fellas. I think there was uh Mickey, Nickabee, maybe Joshaby was there too. I'm pretty sure he was. Um, and then wives, girlfriends, uh all their supporters, all the wags. Uh so well done, boys. Frogman Grant 222.3. Well, it doesn't surprise me with Grant because he doesn't mind an outsider, and you know, he's only got to get one horse to lob per meeting at decent odds, and he'll get there. He had a couple of very big place getting pays on the weekend. Uh, got nutted right on the line, so I wouldn't write uh him off yet either. And it's just a sad sight to see the saving spot. A lot of S's in there. I suppose we are snakes after. Also, yes, uh, saving private, the skipper, he is just absolutely having a woeful start to the season in the Triple B's. 212 and and uh honestly probably the favourite to be knocked out first, which uh, you know, will leave the King Browns rudderless after just two months of the Triple B's.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but it's not over yet, mate. We all know because Saving Private can pluck one out of the Nether Regions as well. He'll he'll be okay, I think.

SPEAKER_01

In the teams, we can have a look at it. And Cattlehogs, eight hundred and sixty-one points for this event. Out in front, doing it nicely. The shooters seven seven seven. Laurie, uh uh, you just keep beaming every time you come in here this uh this year. Uh it's a different season, isn't it? Yeah, it is. Uh we've turned over a new leaf. We've got some young blood in there, and you can smell the team teamship amongst them. Uh not pretty some days, but most days not too bad. Uh, they're flying. All right, Wranglers in third, 750, so right in the middle of the pack. Uh Crocs, 663. It's not been one of their best events the last couple of seasons, but they are doing better this year, no doubt about it. Golddigger Gavy on top. Another ex-Wrangler. Well, that's too bad. He's an ex-Croc, too, and he's gone back to him, so that's just the way it works. And the King Browns, 477. Uh they're gonna they've got a lot of points they're gonna have to make up already uh if they want to win their first premiership.

SPEAKER_02

BTB 19. DALEMs.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, gents, flipping over to the DallyMs, and of course the three points for the week went to Rhinestone Graham, the first cattle dog to gather the gold points on the podium for the DallyMs this season. So well done, big grey great. Uh Robbo's pocket rocket, he's grabbed his second second for the year. The Wranglers keep running second. They can't get someone up there in the gold points, but uh they have dominated that silver level, and Robbo's pocket rocket, uh, with that extra two points, that shoots him up the ladder for overall Daliam. And in third, Metro Matt. I'm not sure that Metro Matt has ever scored a point in the Triple Bs in his long career within these walls. No, we're uh scouring the record books at the moment to see if he ever has. It's a complete accident, of course, but uh tell you what, he'd be chappy with that and nice and chipper. So 119.5, and Metro Matt gets a point and gets those King Browns going, and they haven't been going too badly in the Dally M, but uh that could all stop very soon. Well, of course it could, because once you're eliminated from the triple B's, you cannot get any more DALEM points, and you basically just go backwards. So uh that's well stand still, but everyone goes past you. So that's like going backwards, is it not? Oh, I think it is. I think yeah, I'm with you 100%. Well, thank you for that, Laurie. All right, overall, after six weeks, we'll see the field start to string out a little from now on as uh players get multiple points in multiple weeks and other players still fail to get off that mark. Uh Golddigger Gaverby, he's on top alone on six points after that double banger bang bang a couple of weeks in a row. Robbo's Pocket Rocket, he slips into second now on his Robinson Crusoe. Uh he's on four points after that two on the weekend. Rhinestone Graham, he's up to three. He got the three points. So he, Josh will be next, tank rider Jason win Danielson. They've already all won one week each this season. Ben Zebear, Water Tank Matt Dukeso, Daniel Airwin Geordie on two, and on one point of carnival, Barnes' boy Dave Manscope and Nads, Metro Matt, Strength and Jonna, and Trendsetter Todd. Well, it does affect the points, does it not, Ron, when uh this happens now with your THC premiership points? That it does, because obviously they start to stretch, and every time others pick up points, so for instance, trendsetter Todd, who is on uh one point, he's got one Dalian point, he gets 71 THC Premiership points for the w uh his team, King Browns. Uh but below him, Mickey McKenna, he leads a pack of about oh, what's that, uh, oh, 32 players who are yet to score a point, and they're all on 33 at the moment, uh, because they're all the same. But once some of these guys start to pick up points and you start to slip further and further down, that hurts. In the teams, but have a look at this, Ben. Can you believe this? Uh, you've got so many swimming hard to avoid the Red Sea, and yet you are leading the Dali M's teams for this event. Yes. I can't believe it. I think he meant me, Bozo, so just back ratoff. Uh, it is, and it's not to be unexpected. We are a team of the elite within the beat the ball.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, come on, mate, pull the other one. It plays jingle bells.

SPEAKER_01

You can say what you like, but uh go boys. Uh very good, 500 points.

SPEAKER_02

The Wranglers aren't far behind, but eight points behind in second, 492.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, then we've got the shooters 472. Right, smack bang in the middle, only 20 points off, so we're not far away. And then we have a tie with the Crocs and the Cattle Dogs. Uh no, we don't, sorry. The Crocs are on 454, the Cattle Dogs 434. They are struggling in the uh DLEMs a little bit, Mario.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, mate, but they're tipping well as a group, but nobody's really putting their hands up a puff from Rhinestone last week. So I know the Leber is hoping that there's a small crack in the dam wall now, and the cattle dogs are just gonna flood everyone with points in this event.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, excellent. Over to the next one, which is Punter of the Year. Party. Okie dokie, let's have a look at the punters of the week. And I tell you what, we had three collects on the weekend. None of them, you know, ball grabbing, but uh they were still pretty good. Anytime we get a win or a collect, uh, we will take that. And uh the first one to gain a collect those, Crocs are on fire. So I'm gonna stay right with this. Big Win Neil had a couple of luscious lobsters to play with on the weekend, and he got an NRL multi up with the Dolphins leading the way. He had the Dolphins to win. Look for a little while there, though, in trouble against in that hometown derby against the Bonkers. Broncos, sorry, I didn't mean that. Uh uh Dolphins won. Uh Selwyn Cobo anytime try, and Hamaso Tabi Waifido, what a wonderful name that is, just rolls off the tongue. He scored as well. So a 360, he had 20 on that. So he collected uh $72. Uh big win nil, so a plus 32 for him on the week. Very good stuff. I'll stay right with the Crocs. Gold digger Gaverby, Prima Bella. Apparently he backed this because uh that's what he calls his wife, you know, when they're in the the quieter moments, he calls her his Prima Bella. And she absolutely loves it. Uh so he did very well there. It won, and he collected 93 bucks. Uh they both had two bets, and one of them failed on each. I'm not even bothered to go into them because we only talk about winners at the Crocs. Uh, crap, crap, snap, snap on meant. Sorry about that. And uh yeah, so on fire. He ended up with a plus fifty-three. So both of these boys next week, uh well, win Big Win Neil doesn't. He does not go up. He didn't double his uh stake. So his second multi in the NRL did no good. Um he finished at 72. So he sits very high on that leaderboard. He will stay, he will go back to 20 bucks next bet, but uh he is sitting currently in fourth spot and he can't lose any money. So not at the moment, anyway. So well done. Big win nil. Let's head over to the uh shooters. Let's go there. What did Ben Zabair do? Oh, Ben Zabair, the skipper, stepped up and he took a horse in the last race up there in Brisbane. Express payment, and I'll tell you what, we'll walk, we'll go, we'll cash in in. That's what we were doing uh right up until the bloody winning post. And express payment, it got dotted, declined at the last moment. So no good there. Major mortar, he came into play and took a multi on the Sunday. Uh anytime try to score a multi is from memory. I might just bring it up here if I can on the phone. Yes, here it is. Uh he had uh anytime uh same game multi, sorry. So he had Far Longo to score and Saab, but Saab did jack shit. So uh that's gone. Uh but it was a nice attempt from Major Mortar. He lost his 20s, back to the $10 baseline next time up. Alright, uh dart at the board. Let's go over to the King Browns. How did they go on the punt? Uh we had Corporal Crowfoot who uh stood to attention and had his first couple of punts for the week and uh for the year for his beat the ball career, actually. And he did no good, uh, Gonsky. So he had an NRL multi. He also had something at the races, but uh he was just a little bit unfortunate that he didn't even really get close to winning. Warriors Panthers, he had Jenkins to score a couple of tries, which is always a safe bet. Uh he didn't go too bad. I think Jenkins got one, but Dallant Wattenny is a Lesniak. Speaking of wonderful names, he plays for the New Zealand Nyphens. Uh he failed to score. And in his second uh bet he had Lady Alana into a vista, and that was a big boom boom. Metro Matt was so excited with his triple B plan Saturday, he forgot to have a bet. So uh he loses 20 points on the ladder, but that twenty bucks stays in the pool for beatable boys all around. So everyone else is cheering, and Metro Matt is thinking to himself, shit, I forgot to have a bet. That he did. Uh we'll go over to the Wranglers, Sandy. What happened with them?

SPEAKER_02

Say sure Sam stepped up to the pleat with a smurf and he had his ten dollars on a horse at Kembler Green's called Spud Gun, which was playing peeing about 150 to 1 and it ran accordingly. Right up there. But if I had a won, it would have been good money, but he never looked like winning Spud Gun there, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, he was mashed. Gonski. Uh then water tank man's this for a nice little collect 46 bucks jumps in. And for a couple of stables that have struggled on the punt in the last sort of season and a bit, uh, he took a perfect ten, and it was a perfect ten win. It won't go and away. It was a nice little learn there, four sixty. So he had his smurf on that and collected forty-six. So thirty-six plus thirty-six, that is, I should say. He jumps in. So he's up again next week, and he'll have uh a twenty dollars to play with, uh, and we'll have someone new in the saddle. Yeah, we'll go through them at the end. We'll just go over to the cattle dogs now. Uh, how did they fare? We had their their main two players, or their stalwart, should we say, the skip Alonro Leber and Crazy 80s dude up there with his all-ups, Mario, and how did they go?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it has not been good for the cattle dogs. We are getting kicked from pillar to post. Whimpering we are because we cannot get a win in any stable. And so it was very sad that it didn't happen. Crazy 80s dude, because I know Strength and Jonah would love to hear what the bet was, but Carnival could not send it through because he was apparently uh about ten points in. So uh he put the bet on, but the bet is no good. Uh but forgot to send the text, and it was Melbourne race two, number six a place, into race five, number five a place, and it was gone. First league, first league, written fourth. So that uh probably paying a dollar ten, as we know, but uh no good. So Craig's the 80s to struggling for four, mate.

SPEAKER_01

He certainly is, and Lonro Leber, what did he do?

SPEAKER_00

Well Leber went to multi on the NRLs, and he's normally quite good on these. Uh but he's down to ten dollars as well, or as you boys like to say, a smurf. I don't get that, I don't know why you do that. Uh but anyway, uh he had uh a Newcastle Vis Canberra, a Keo Weeks to score, a Ting, a Dominic Young to score, a ting, a Xavier Savage to score, bum bum. And that was a game it was a good game. The knights got home just, but uh, it wasn't so good for the cattle dogs.

SPEAKER_01

All right then. Well, after all that and the updates into the ladders and and what's going on at the top, Smitty Wynn sits there, prouder than a honeymoon of smile. 236 points. General Buckley's in second on 109 after his fabulously fast start. And then we just have Crocsville going down there. Goldigger Gaverby third on eighty four, big win near fifty five, he slips into fourth. Fifth place. Fifth place. Josh will be next. 42. Grunton Groan stuck his head in there last week. Nice little victory. 32. He's up. And copy that condo on 26. The only other person in the black right now is a Wrangler. And that's quite topical, isn't it? They are predominantly black and red. Water tank Matt. He slides into that top eight now. We have five punters yet to bet still. Come later on, Steve Tango Tom, Win Daniel Son here early, Harry. Four, sorry. And some of them will be take care of, taken care of this week. So the punters up for the coming week are. In the shooters, we have Laurie. Yeah, Barnes's boy, Dave, one of the doy ends of this uh and our official tour photographer, beat a ball legend. Uh Cambo, he's got ten bucks. Win Daniel Sun. He's back in the saddle and he's got twenty bucks. Oh no, it's the first time in the bloody saddle.

SPEAKER_00

He's been waiting behind Smitty. He's one of the skeletons. And then we go over to the cattle dogs. Yes, mate, we have uh Dukesroll Daniel. He is here waiting with $10 and Casey is Paul. So hoping the Cattle Dogs can get a victory of any sorts this weekend.

SPEAKER_01

And that takes us over to the Crocs. Tango Tom, he gets his first pun of the year. He's on 20. Uh, gold ligger Gavy, 60. He moves up to after that win last week. He got 93, 40 doubles 80, so he is in there with a $60, three lobsters. He is dead set becoming a seafood merchant, this man. And uh he's up. Over down to the King Browns. Uh tank rider Jace. As we know, he likes to study a horse and loves a good horse. And uh he'll be horsing around this weekend, I imagine, unless he chooses to go the footy ball way, as Mario likes to say. And uh saving private. He's up there with ten bucks, and all eyes will be on the skipper to see what he can produce. And that will bring us over to the Wranglers, Sandy. Uh water tank Matt. He'll move up with twenty dollars this week after his excellent week last week.

SPEAKER_02

And and coming in for the other one for the Wranglers, we have who's after Sage or Sam. Let me just have it. Oh, Heywei, I will.

SPEAKER_01

Uh let's see if he can produce something. Uh they need it that stable, because there's three stables, I believe, at the moment, Ron, that are yet to register a victory of any kind. Well, yes, we'll uh look at Stable Wars, a voiceover guy. BTB Stable Wars. Okay, our best stable at the moment, Black Caviar. They are out in front, and that's Benzaber, Bunsey's boy Dave. No, that's not them. Wrong one. Boom, boom, let's get back. Smitty Win, Major Mortar, Win Daniel Sun, come later on to hear early Harry. Uh so they're on top on plus 216. Uh two croc stables next, second and third, Daily Martin plus 85, Spice Girls plus 41. The three stables you alluded to, Sandy, Ells Friedman, Nicholas Snowden, both Cattle Dog stables, they are both yet to register a collect. And McElroy Wallace. So we know that there was a stable from the Wranglers that wore the vest, the waiter's vest last year. And at this stage, they just can't seem to break free. I want to break free. Well, they want to break free, believe me. So I'd show Sam, Highwire Wheel, Lion Tamer Lockheed, Airwind, Geordie, and Spin Smith Liam. At the moment, they are living in Fluro, can't punt for shit town. So these boys and all three stables there will be looking to launch this weekend because uh the further we get in, you know, you don't want to get trapped in that uh it's like being on the bogey train in golfing terms, where you just can't get back to par, and these guys need to get back to par soon. They need someone to stand up.

SPEAKER_00

They're holding out for the hero, mate, until the end of the night. They've got to be fast and they've gotta be fresh and they've gotta be something from the fat.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, completely staff that up. You know that, man. And no, it was a great hit by Bunny. Uh poor old Bonnie, but uh she was a fabulous singer today, such passion in that voice. Yes, she was. Uh let's have a quick look at the overall ladder in the Punter of the Year. The Crocs out on top, 861. Uh or 881, that is, sorry. Uh shooters 840. They're in second spot. King Browns 738. So the King Browns aren't going too bad there. Uh the Wranglers 587, and the Cattledogs 483. So, from a team perspective in the Punter of the Year, uh, very, very difficult for the Cattle Dogs and the Wranglers at the moment. They are losing points because if you look at that, you've got the Crocs sitting on top on 881, uh, and you've got the Cattle Dogs down the bottom in Punter of the Year on 483 as a team. They're already 400 points off the pace there, uh, which makes it very difficult to catch up indeed.

SPEAKER_00

They need some wins, but Yeah, Punter of the Year, but mate, it is the most aggressive, volatile competition of the lot. It changes very, very quickly depending on who does well.

SPEAKER_01

That is right, Mario. Good point. And it's good to see you holding your hopes up there nice and high. That's that's not his hopes, I don't think. That's uh looks like underwear.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, no, it's a c look, I can't explain it, but uh all right, that'll do for that.

SPEAKER_01

So let's have a look at the next thing, which is Be the Ball 19 THC Premiership. Checking out the THC Premiership race, and it is all a one-way show at the moment. In front the Crocs. Two two four five out there leading and leading nicely. Handsome way, one might say. Shooters in second, two zero seven five.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, you good things. Pew pew.

SPEAKER_01

Wrangler's third, two zero two four. We're just flying under the red this year as we go for our three P T Cattle Dogs one eight zero one. Oh no, mate. King Brown's one seven zero one. What on earth is going on? We're already for five hundred points off the pace, and it's only six weeks in, my goodness. We need to have a bit of a rev up down there in King Brown town. You might need more than that. I mean, going in, we looked at the draft and we just said, these King Browns, you know, they are awesome. They have a top team, especially that top four or five. But with the there's just too many not performing at the moment. I they're sadly out of form. Uh I don't know what to do from here. What wh what would you say to them if you could say anything to them, Ben? I just tell them to pull their fingers out quick. Smart. Come on, boys, you're much better than this. You can't have the cattle dogs beating you for goodness sake.

SPEAKER_00

You leave the cattle dogs alone, mate. The cattle dogs are great. Don't you worry about them. Lonel Labba here is letting those boys they have a plan. They are the men's with a plans. And I'm telling you, you can't just say there and pick on us. Why us?

SPEAKER_01

Because you're the cattle dogs, for goodness sake. All right, all right, knock it off you two. Stop giving each other the stare, the glare, the doo doo doo doo. Well, the Wranglers, Sandy, you said it, they're not going too bad. Flying under the radar. They have been uh hamstrung to a degree with the draft this year, but Oh, they deserve to be. They had to be shaken up and carved out, and I'll tell you what, Benny Sembler's put together a great two and go, Ben's a bear. We're coming after those crocs. Well, those crocs, I can tell you right now, they're competitive buggers. They have been competitive buggers, especially their skipper Mikabee, and he has not taken it taken it well the last few years, their performances, and they're up there on top. 2245. We've got a lot of points to dump into here over the next month or so, uh, so it's going to be very interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, we're gonna have all those footy tipping comps to come in, EFL NRL tipping plus the NRL Supercoach.

SPEAKER_00

And don't forget NRL Profit Legend, mate. So there's four competitions with the points that are gonna dump right into this premiership race.

SPEAKER_01

There they are, Mario, and then on top of that we have the two spring champion tips to horse racing competitions coming up, and they'll start in September. Uh, and we've that's in Sydney and Melbourne. So they're other big, you know, uh wildcard events really. Anyone can win them. So uh it's going to be very interesting. Uh I suppose it'll probably be October when we have a real take on where teams are at and whether they need to do anything. Because don't forget there is a trade window in February next year. I forgot about that completely. I can't wait, I'm sure Saving Private's already working on it. Well, there is. So uh February the captains can get together and they can trade players between teams if they wish to. Now, whether they do or not, let's have a look. But uh the option is there, so the teams who are in contention may look to strengthen themselves and uh and trade some players out. Oh geez, that's gonna piss some boys off if they get traded out. Um and make others happy, I suppose, if they get traded in. Oh well it's all part of the fun. It's meant to be fun, this whole thing, this teams thing. I know we're competitive and the juices do flow occasionally, but uh, you know, there's a long way to go and there are options there. But uh right now uh it's looking very, very nice for the Crocs indeed.

SPEAKER_02

BTB nineteen. MVP Club Champels.

SPEAKER_01

Moving right along, we've got a lot to get through today because we've got to announce those three destinations that we will be voting for this week. So the MVP overall, just to run through the top half dozen or so. Goldegger Gaverby after week six is on top with four thirty-six points. Nice little break to Joshua next. So a croc Quinnella up the top there as well. Wynn Danielson holding third in almost every competition he's in. He's on 399.5. Then we go down to three Wranglers, which will warm you up, Sande. They will indeed, and I don't mean that little impression there on. Rob Wars Pocket Rocket 336, Craig's Carnival 326, and uh what to thank Matt after his excellent weekend. He joins him on 326. So the three Wranglers are running four five six. Uh just to top off the greens, that top 12 rhymes and Graham Barnes' boy Dave Dukesro, Daniel Smithy win, Manscaped ads, and Tango Tom. So that's a pretty good top 12. Looking at it, there's one King Brown in there. Uh, there's two cattle dogs, uh, three shooters, three crocs. So uh very strong indeed. Not a lot of difference in the club champion race. We'll just knock that one on the head. Gold ticket, Gavy, Josh will be next win, Daniel Sun, uh, and then the top six are exactly the same. Uh, and lo and behold, wouldn't you know it? The only real change is tank rider Jace comes in for the King Browns into 11th in the club champions, and Smitty win. Uh, he finds himself in 12th in the club champos, but he is tenth in the MVP. Uh, but as I said, we've only had the one event, but there's a lot of stuff gonna happen and a lot of points to be dumped into there in the coming probably eight weeks or so.

SPEAKER_03

If I can change, you don't show każdy kosminica. And you can change. We must is mini side. Tattoo trophy.

SPEAKER_01

So we have a fair few contests hitting the pointy end of the season. So let's have a quick look at the footy over the weekend and where we're at in these tipping comps and what's going down. As I said, there's only about four weeks to go, uh, if that, and uh, it's getting very interesting. AFL will finish in a couple of weeks, so it's right down to it. There has been a big change in the NRL tipping. Metro Matt has hit the lead. So, Strength and Johnner, who has led this for a long, long time, he is now joined on top by Metro Map, but the margin difference each week there's that one game, you've got to pick the margin. Uh, Metro Matt is doing better in that regard, and he's hit the lead for the King Browns. I tell you, he is dead set rocks or diamonds. Damons are rocks, Metro Matt, isn't he? Forgets to put a bet in, but then he gets third in the triple B's, and now he's leading the NRL tipping. My goodness, the man is an enigma wrapped up in an onion.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I don't know if I've ever had one of them.

SPEAKER_02

He wouldn't worry about it if I was you. It's an enigma, he said enigma, not enema.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, what's I don't even know what either of them are, mate.

SPEAKER_01

Don't worry about it, Mario. So in third, uh we have Barnesy's boy Dave. He is on 128. I believe he's won this before, Cambo. He is a very sneaky good rugby league tipster. Win Daniel Sun in fourth on 126. So that gives us our gold, silver, and bronze. Now, the big thing is here, of course, the Jokers. We had three this year, plus a bonus point if you could pick that exact margin each week, plus two bonus points if you pick a full round, and that's been pretty hard sledding, let's be honest. But there were a stack of boys who use their joker, and that begs the question. This table, how many more changes has it got? Yeah, I think it's got an absolute bucket load of them to come yet, mate. Who's sitting? Who's the sneaky buggers who are sitting on their jokers and they're gonna produce late? So Strength and John has been caught in the NRL tipping for now. Does he have another one up his sleeve? Uh crazy how easy he'd use it with tipping he does. I bet you that for sure. Uh, but so it's really, I love it. This is very interesting. This is gonna chop and change and top to toe uh all for the rest of the next three, four weeks. It's gonna be huge to watch. Yeah, it will be. It's quite exciting, really. Uh, the top tipsters for the week, Big Win Neil managed six, line tamer Lockheed managed six. Um, that dragon's spanner in the works really threw a lot of guys off. Heading over to the AFL tipping now, uh Strength and Johnner is on top with tank rider Jace. He hasn't had it all his own way over there in the AFL this year, uh, and they are one point in front of next to win Nath. So that's another battle royale. The big mover last week was Lonro Leber. So the skipper of the Catalogs played his Joker or one of and scored 12 points, and he's just outside those top four or five on 157. Joining him his son Dukesrow Daniel and Roger, that diva there is 157. Uh again, there was a stack of jokers played. The top scores for the week was seven of the nine. Frogman Grant, he's done pretty well, or Grant, whichever way you'd like to say it. Devastating Dave seven, Nickabee seven, and saving private all the way down there at second last. He has managed a seven out of nine, so I think the skipper is uh either pulling his finger out or there are a lot of away teams that won. But uh you must be uh pretty happy with that. Well, I am. I talk for the Crocs and uh we are, and the King Browns. Yep, ha, big fella. Uh I can't quite reach down there that far. Ah, alright. Uh later on, it's probably better for my elbow if we don't do that anyway. Okay, that just leads NRL Supercoach, and really uh the latter hasn't changed at all that much. Many teams are very similar at this time of year, uh, and you just want to get as high up as you can and try and pick up some of those tattoo trophy points and uh the THC Premiership points that follow on from that, of course. Uh Manscaper Nads, our current leader, he had a huge week, 1440. Uh, he leads out by about 250, 300 points from Frogman Grant. Uh, it's really down to those two. They're the only two who are out over 30,000. You wouldn't think anyone else can catch them from there. Uh Will leads up the rest on 29, 6, 5, 7. Uh, and in the top 10, it's it's basically all Wranglers and King Browns. Uh Smitty Winners stuck his nose in there for the shooters, and next to win Nate is not far off. Um so at this stage it looks like major points will be going into the King Browns and Wranglers from that competition. But they're all fairly tight. There's not a lot between any of the teams in these, uh, and it's really important to keep tipping and just try and you know get up a place or two as you're going.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, mate, you can't give up now. You've got to keep pushing to the end, and there's jokers everywhere. I can't wait to see how these tipping comps round out over the next few weeks.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it should be pretty exciting. All right, gentlemen, now that brings us to our key part of today's podcast, and that is our final destinations for the Beat the Ball 20 tour, and we will be bringing Carnival in. I can see him through the window at the moment. He'll come in in a moment and talk us through it. But uh, it's pretty exciting, fellas. With uh we're down to three, it's whittled down, and we will know at the end of this week where we will be celebrating 20 years of the beat the ball. Can you believe that?

SPEAKER_00

I can't believe it, mate. That first year he was a shambles in beat the ball four. My goodness, mate. How the hell it kept going after that, I don't know. But uh Carnival has done a good job with Mickey Bee. They're the two that have been on every tour.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, Robo's pocket, rockets up there. Saving private's only missed the one. He's he's in the second place overall after Wok went to Europe. Uh so uh and he's up there too, of course. But yeah, it has been it's a wonderful effort, and it's something that I'm sure the boys will celebrate hard. Or no doubt about it. Uh just going through who has missed out on being nominated for the tour. Uh Darwin. It started strongly, but failed and finished. It didn't finish in those top three, so uh highly commended to Darwin. I'm sure we'll get there one day. Uh the other ones to miss out, of course, we mentioned earlier Wilcannier and Parkslash Forbes. Well uh they're one vote each, so those boys will have to vote again. Uh and then there were a couple of others on the periphery. Hobart started okay, but it also fell apart. I think the cold weather absolutely uh shook a few people up. There's no way you want to go to Hobart in the middle of winter. For starters, it's freezing. Uh secondly, uh I don't know if you there's a lot to do. Uh I mean you don't you're a long way from the real good golf courses, so uh I'm sure we'll get to Tassie one day, but that might be on a small tour event. Well, Carnival is currently putting together some sort of schedule for that. So that is let's bring him in now. Here he is. Welcome. Thank you for joining us, Carnival. Hello, boys, hello everyone out there in Be the Ball land. Thank you for having me. Alright, so uh let's shall we just get straight down to it or do you want to talk about a few things first? No, I'm happy to go with what you boys want to run with. Whatever you'd like to do, go for it, Ron. Alright, voiceover guy, finalist number one for the Be the Ball 20 destination tour spot is Perth WA. There you have it. There have been many whispers around that it was one of the most popular spots to be going. Uh, the pros and cons for that carnival as you see them. Uh the pros are the golf courses. Uh absolutely fantastic golf courses, all within reach. We we try to travel within 30 minutes at most uh to and from golf courses on the coaches. So uh yeah, so the golf's good. Uh the also the accommodation will be no issues, and nightlife you wouldn't imagine will be too much of a problem. Uh there isn't a huge pub scene, so maybe we we have a couple little things we have to look at there. Uh but the big knock on it would have to be Oh flying, five hours in the air, you know, it's a big trip there and back, and especially for those country boys in in faraway places. If you're up around the Sunshine Coast where Entrein Moes and a few others are aren't far from, yeah, that's a that's a big travel time. Yeah, that will be the the probably the sticking issue for a few. Uh there was Fremantle at one stage that was getting bandied about, but in the end there were uh m was more than enough support for Perth to be our number one spot. I don't mind Perth, I wouldn't mind to go to Perth. That's what you carry your money around in, is it not, Mario?

SPEAKER_00

What are you talking about, mate? In your Perth? Very funny, mate. Very fucking funny. That Indian cricketer again.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if you're allowed to say that this these days. Maybe subcontinental. Is that a new menu item at Subway, mate? No, no, but you just gotta be, you know, the Bangladeshis have been over here. Hey, has anyone been watching any of that cricket up there in the top end or somewhere up there?

SPEAKER_02

No, I can't see I have uh haven't been looking for it, to be honest.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so moving right along, let's get voiceover guy in number two. Uh second finalist for the Beatleball 20 Anniversary Tour destination is Noosa Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

SPEAKER_02

Now we're talking, baby. I I tend to agree you'd expect it to be warm enough up there at this time of year.

SPEAKER_01

We have been there before for the 10th anniversary, so it's got quite a nice little circle to it. And your pros and cons on this carnival? Well, the pros are it's a lovely spot to uh north, obviously, so it's a little bit warmer. Um it's it's done us well in the past. There's enough nightlife to keep us all happy. Golf courses, no problems, accommodation no problems. Everything is run, good pub scene up there, surf clubs, all that sort of stuff. So I can see why it's been popular, and uh, you know, we'll wait and see how it pans out. But I think Sunshine Coasts and from you know Sydney, I think it's about an hour and a half in the air, uh maybe not even that. So I I get why boys have uh leaned that way as well. There's a little bit of tradition there. Uh, but in saying that, Perth, we've never toured Perth, we've done most of the major capitals in the mainland. Obviously, we haven't gone to Tasmania yet. Um, so I get why those two are there. Alright, moving right along. Voice over guy, who is our third and final area destination selection that the boys can vote for this week uh with regard to the Beatleball 20 anniversary tour?

SPEAKER_02

Townsville, Queensland.

SPEAKER_01

I did not see that coming, Mutt. Yeah, that's a real shock. That wasn't even mentioned in dispatches earlier. Where the hell's that come from? Well, it's come out of the woodwork late, and there have been a number of people that it's finished in front of uh a couple of other destinations, uh uh such as Hobart and Darwin. Uh but the support came late, and that's a very real thing. Well, I imagine the temperature up there would be the main driving force. I mean, uh you're looking at probably not dissimilar to cans around that sort of twenty-four to twenty-seven, twenty-eight mark every day, uh, providing the rain stays away. Does it have everything you want up there? What are the pros and cons there, Carnival? Uh the con would be the golf. Uh, you'd have to play pretty much the same course both days, I think. Uh the warm weather is obviously it's big plus. Uh, the nightlife is very, very good from everyone that that's been there or lived there has told me. Uh, so you could have fun. Um travel time, we'll go into Cairns this year, so I I think it's you know a little bit less than that. So I don't think that's an issue either. So um I can understand why that's been picked. A lot of the boys are pushing for warm weather, and Perth can't promise that. Um it's not to say it'd be terrible. I mean it's probably very similar to Adelaide and uh not so much Melbourne, it's probably a fraction warmer than Melbourne would be at that time of year. Uh, but that's another big thing. Well, there you have it, boys, and and what do you think of that, Sandy? Those three. I I like 'em. Uh I can see why they're all selected, I can see why they're all popular. Perth, you know, it would be a memorable tour for the 20th anniversary, the first time to go there. But, you know, as as Carnival pointed out, there are pros and cons to each place. Uh sunshine, of course, you never we've never had a bad tour up there. It's always good fun. You'd expect it to be around that sort of 23 mark, maybe a little more at that time of year. Uh, and Tansville will be even warmer than that. So, yeah, I I can see why they've been picked. Alright, the voting process was very simple, Carnival. For the selections of the destinations, everybody on this tour, the all of Beatle 19, 48 members, they got one vote for each place. And and most of them voted, I take it. Yeah, it was pretty good. Most people voted. There are a few that have kept their powder dry. There there are always those who don't really mind where we go. Um, so that's understandable. Uh the voting, of course, takes on a different look when it comes to voting now for the destination. So will the boys that have already nominated one of those destinations have to vote again this week? No, they won't. They will their votes will go automatically into their nominations, so they won't need to. So who will how will people know if they've got a vote or not? I will personally send out messages to them uh via text and they can just come back with what their selection is.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but don't you get more votes for the longer you have been on the tour, Matt? I remember this is what we do each year, I think.

SPEAKER_01

That's spot on, Mario. You're all over it, like white on rice, sticky on a lollipop, spots on the zebra. I think you mean stripes. Yeah. I think you missed that one. Yeah, I did. Sorry, fellas. I missed that one. Mucked it up. Uh thank you very much for pulling me up on that. Uh so the voting is how many tours you've done. The currency for the beat the ball has always been uh the tours. Uh making a tour and finishing a season off. And so, for instance, Mikka B. McKenna has 17 votes uh for his one. And if you're a rookie this year, you get one vote. Uh that's the way it works. There's no apologies for it. That you've always you always earn your stripes within the walls of the beat the ball tour, and the longer you are involved, the more say, and uh you know, the higher importance you have. in the group when it comes to these sort of decision making processes. So it's it'll it will all come down now, I imagine, to uh where people vote, if they're block voting, if uh whatever they're doing and how many votes they carry. I always find it a very exciting time of the year and obviously we're we're a year out in front and I imagine that's for planning purposes. Absolutely. We want the 20th anniversary to be something that's memorable and we've got to plan for it and then we've got to execute those plans. I sound like a football coach when I say that but that's what needs to happen. So we're trying to buy as much time as we possibly can to get there. Yeah you're still going to have another team though too aren't you in be the ball 20? That's right we will well it doesn't mean extra players it'll still be 48 or thereabouts the cap for the tour. So but it will be a very exciting tour in in that you know we'll be unveiling our new team logo our new team captain and all the things that go with that. So that's just one small aspect of the tour and it's a big thing but it's a small thing in in regard to what we've got going on for Beat the Ball 20. Alright ballers I uh hope you enjoyed that and you've heard it here first that the three destinations that we will be voting on for the Beat the Ball 20 anniversary tour, the big one are Perth WA Noosa slash Sunshine Coast somewhere up around there in Queensland and then Townsville which was the surprise submission that's come in late as Carnival said garnering support late and no doubt the weather has a big part of that. So vote well this week and we will soon know where we're all heading. You looking forward to those three spots boys? I can't wait I didn't already talk about Kansas going to be fabulous this year and next year by the sounds of it there's three really good places there. There's a couple I've got my eye on in particular but should be sensational. Alright Carnival thank you for joining us my pleasure boys doing a wonderful job keep doing what you're doing. Oh we will mate don't worry we love doing it's always nice to uh talk to you Carnival thank you for dropping in and it's been a pleasure and I can't wait to see where we're going. Alright that'll do for that for now what's your prediction for the fight bath prediction? Yes prediction pain well that's probably not too far off the mark with this BTB 20 anniversary decision to be made there's gonna be pain for some out there. Some are are going to be sad they've missed but I I don't think you can really be wrong with any of those spots can you? No I don't think so I mean it we we create fun wherever we go you've seen those boys in action those ballers they have a great time together no matter where you could put them in a bloody foam box and they'd find a way to enjoy the weekend. Might be hard to swing the golf clubs but they'd still be in there you know just living it up. So good luck to all the boys out there. Now I noticed that Lyle was in a little bit earlier. Where's he been Laurie? Oh he had a bit of a break and Lyle's been away but our uh super sleuth our uh cadet reporter he's been sniffing around I saw him out there in the trees the other day out at uh Macquarie Lynx just following the boys with his notepad and pen. He's old school just a bit like his uncle you can't get much more old school than that.

SPEAKER_02

He wouldn't be talking too out loud about things like that, then it's not like you weren't on the hill when Dave Bloom used to run it in.

SPEAKER_01

Oh he was a wonderful footballer.

SPEAKER_00

He was a bit overrated I thought I don't even know who you guys are talking about.

SPEAKER_01

You rarely do, Marty or you rarely do. Okay, so that'll wind it up for this week exciting week coming up this time next week we will know where we are touring in Beat the Ball twenty and then we get into all the footy finals and we get into the spring carnival racing then we get into our new team uh voting uh on names and all that sort of stuff new skipper will be uh unveiled at some point so it's all pretty exciting. Yeah I just want to say about Lyle's looking for stories boys so uh he can be completely anonymous he never gives up his sources at bloke tomato barbecue any sort so uh if you you want to uh just drop a line through Carnival uh he'll make sure that Lyle gets onto it and uh we'll get some reports flowing through that chat group and also through here no doubt uh a little bit of a gossip innuendo perhaps opinion I like it I like it a lot all right boys thank you for joining me again we will be here back here same time same place next week thanks everyone off you go I'm going home to watch uh mate uh Ted Lasso I love that show mate I just watched all the three seasons again but then I got to the first episode and I was a little bit disappointed I must say so I'm hoping that it gets better. Yeah I've been watching that uh Game of Thrones spin off House of the Dragon. My god I thought that there's been one good episode in three and a half seasons but I'm uh pot committed so to speak so I'll be viewing that tonight. Well I'm going home to get warm because it's bloody blowing a gale at the moment and it's freezing. I just uh saw a dog just blown off its chain go straight flying past this window uh and so well let's go let's go and get warmed up and uh we'll see you all next week.

SPEAKER_02

Wherever you are whatever you're doing be the ball no I don't heat bad boy but I pity the fool
