In this episode, former student and host Marco returns as a guest to chat with Asa and Mishal about life after graduation and his journey into the design industry.
He talks about taking a break post-uni to update his portfolio and the resilience needed to navigate job rejections. His master’s project explored a universally designed kitchen—an inclusive space for people with and without disabilities, focusing on designing with inclusivity in mind, not for a specific group.
Originally fixated on creating one perfect, all-encompassing object, Marco now—through his work at Samsung, embraces designing for a range of users. Customization and choice have become key, giving people the freedom to shape their own spaces.
He also touches on blending material exploration with human-centered design, and how staying ahead of trends helps bring future-ready products to life. While he keeps the secrets of Samsung close, he gives a thoughtful glimpse into designing at a global scale.
