Chapter 11 verse one. Now fate is the substance of things hope for the evidence of things not seen. Now Paul defines fate here in this verse. Fate is the substance of things hoped for. Substance is something that can be seen. Of things hoped for, this is hope. Or a goal or goals that you are trying to obtain. Fate is the evidence of things not seen. Evidence is something that can be seen. Of things not seen, this is again hope or a goal or goals you are striving to achieve. Now what do we see here? We see here that faith is the vehicle, which can be seen, that takes us to the goal, which is not yet manifested, and brings the goal or goals to the visible. You cannot accomplish a hope, a goal, without faith. Hope is the goal that is not seen, that can only be brought into reality through fate. Paul says this in Romans chapter 8 verses 24 and 25. For we are saved by hope, but hope that is not seen is not hope. For what a man see it, Why do he get hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we, with patience, wait for it. Now, here we clearly see that hope is the goal, or goals, that are not physically seen, but can attain, or be brought to the visible, by fate. Romans chapter 4 verses 17 and 18 reads, As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations. Before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were, who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations. According to that which was spoken, so shall thy seed be. Now we see here, God's promise to Abraham and we see Abraham believing that it would happen even though it was humanly Impossible against all odds. He believed in the goal that God said he would achieve Fate is the vehicle that will bring about your hope your goal All right Another perfect example of faith and hope in action is found in Mark's gospel chapter 2 verses 1 through 5 and it reads And again he entered into Capernaum after some days and it was knowledge that he was in the house and straightway many were gathered together in so much that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door and he preached the word unto them and they come unto him bringing one sick of the palsy, which was born of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was. And when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their fate, underline that, when Jesus saw their fate He said unto the sick of the palsy, son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Now, what do we see in this example? We see two things. Number one, faith can be seen with the physical eyes. Jesus saw their fate by their physical actions of Tearing off of the roof to get their sick friend to Jesus for him to heal him, which is the goal, the hope. All right. Secondly, fate brought their hope or their goal to the visible. Jesus healed their friend. Fate is not a mystery y'all. It is not a guessing game. It is simply believing what God says. To know the will of God is to know his word, for his word is his will. And when we align ourselves with his will, which is his word, we will reap the promises. It's just that simple. What does God says, believe that with your actions and your hope, all your goal will be achieved. It's just that simple. Always remember this, your actions always reveal what you believe. Your actions always reveal what you believe. All right. Look at verse number two, for by it, the elders obtained a good report. Faith will cause you to obtain a good report. It will cause you to establish a good name in the earth. It will cause you to establish and to leave behind a good legacy. Look at verse three through fate, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which shall seen were not made of things which do appear. Now, our fate in God's word causes us to understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. God spoke in creation, time after time, saying let there be, and it was His word reveals this and we believe it. All right. Verse four, by fate. Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts, and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. Why? Because he knew the will of God concerning sacrifices, and aligned himself with God's will, and therefore pleased God. Cain, on the other hand, refused to walk in faith, and operated in the flesh, and God rejected him. Look at verse number five. By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see debt and was not found because God had translated him. For, before his translation, he had this testimony that he pleased God. God. Listen, a life of fate in what God says will result in a testimony of you having a life that is pleasing in the eyes of God. Verse six. But without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. We see here that faith is so very important. Without it, it is impossible to please God. In order for us to align ourselves according to His Word, which is His will, we have to first believe that He is who He says He is, and that He will do what He says He will do. We must believe that He rewards everyone who diligently seeks Him. Everyone who walks diligently in His will, in His Word, reaps His glorious promises. We must believe. Hallelujah. Alright, verse number 7. By fate, Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house, by the wish he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. When God told Noah that he was going to destroy the earth by a flood, Noah believed him. How do we know this? Because he built an ark. He made preparation for a flood that the world didn't believe would come. Verse 8, By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed. And he went out, not knowing whither he went. Now, God one day tells Abraham to gather all his belongings and family and get out of Ur and go to a land that he would show him. Abraham believed God and showed it by doing exactly what God told him to do. Again, faith is not a guessing game. It is knowing what God says And doing it. Alright, let's look at verses nine through 12. By fate, he so adjourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country dwelling in Tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise for, he looked for a city which had foundations. Whose builder and maker is God through faith. Also, Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed and was delivered of a child when she was past age because she judged him faithful, who had promised therefore spring there are even of one and him as good as dead. So many as the stars of the sky in multitude and as the sandwich is by the seashore innumerable now. All of these things took place by fate. Alright, look at verse number 13. These all died in fate, not having received the promises, but having seen them evolve and were persuaded of them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Now, Abraham didn't physically see the fulfillment of verse 12, but it came to pass just like God promised it to him. Abraham's seed became a mighty nation consistent of a vast amount of. People that could not be counted. They were as the sand by the seashore in normal. Paul goes on to say that they confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Listen, walking by faith will cause all of us to recognize that as children of God, we are just pilgrims and strangers down here on this earth. Our citizenship is in 14 through 19. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly country. Well, for God is not ashamed to be their God, for he had prepared for them a city. By fate, Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac, and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said that in Isaac shall thy seed be called, accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from whence also he received Him in a figure Abraham knew that even if he had killed his son that God would raise him back up Why because he believed what God had promised him concerning his son Isaac All right, look at verses 20 through 22 by fate Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau Concerning things to come by fate Jacob when he was a dying Bless both the sons of Joseph And worshiped, leaning upon the top of his staff. By faith, Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel and gave commandment concerning his bones. Joseph lived a life of fate. It was his belief in the two dreams God has shown him that kept him through all his adverse circumstances while he was in the pit and all the while he was in Egypt. All right, let's look at verses 23 through 29. By faith, Moses, when he was born, was he had three months of his parents because they saw he was a proper child and they were not afraid of the king's commandments. By faith, Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season, esteeming the reproach of Christ's greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward. By faith, he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king, for he endured at seeing him who is invisible. Through fate he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By fate they passed through the Red Sea, as by dry land, which the Egyptians are sailing to do, were drowned. Listen, fate, Faith is manifested through your actions. James says fate without works is dead being alone. Your action will always reveal what you believe. Moses actions and decision makings were in accordance to what he believed. Alright, look at verses 30 through 40. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down. After they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab fell down. Parish not with them that believed not when she had received the spies with peace. And what shall I more say? For the time befell me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthah, of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets, who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword. Out of weakness were made strong, waxed in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again, and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. And others had trial of cruel mocking and scourging, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sung asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented, of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens, and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise. God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made. Perfect. Paul says here in this passage that he could go on and on concerning examples of people of faith, but he didn't have enough of time. Then we see in verse 40 that God had us in mind. Oh, glory to God. As great as Abraham, Noah, Jacob, Joseph. And so on was they are incomplete without us. God didn't stop with them. He included us. God is still bringing his sheep into his fold.
