Mother's Day comes once a year, but make no mistake that mothers of neurodivergent kids deserve to be celebrated every day. We are superheroes in the way we protect, advocate, and fight for our kids. But we are oh so human in the way we hurt when we see our child suffer. We deserve an honorary doctorate for all the research we do to ensure we are making the very best choices. We are party girls who celebrate milestones that other moms take for granted. We value progress over perfection. We are the tender, resilient mothers of neurodivergent kids. Welcome to the Tender Resilience Podcast, providing encouragement and maybe some wisdom to the tender, resilient parents of neurodivergent kids. If you have a child with ADHD, autism, OCD, anxiety, auditory processing disorder, learning disabilities, andor any other neurodiverse condition, this is our spot to cheer each other on. This podcast isn't designed to give a medical diagnosis or psychological advice for you or your child, and there's no artificial intelligence, just a lot of real life experience and a genuine desire to lift up moms and dads so that you realize what an amazing parent you truly are. And there's no one more amazing than the moms of neurodivergent kids. Sorry, dads, this podcast is coming out in May, so we are in the Mother's Day spirit and speaking the truth. IEP meetings make us fierce. The tears of our child make us tender. We live our days on a tightrope, balancing the weight of both joy and heartbreak. Carrying calendars full of appointments, carrying concern for the future, carrying a heart full of hope, all while carrying a love that is profound and fiercely loyal. Unlike a lot of fake book, I mean Facebook moms, mothers of neurodivergent kids dismiss comparison for something way more authentic, cherishing our child's effort way more than the outcome, knowing that growth can happen during difficult seasons and often blooms after other moms would have given up. We've become keen and emotionally intelligent after absorbing our child's hurts over and over. We understand our child's sensitivities and fears so well that often we can feel their overwhelm before they do. We respect our child's courage as they navigate a world that doesn't always understand them or treat them kind. However, in the midst of respecting our child's courage, we moms must respect our own. Too often we tell ourselves that we are inadequate when in reality we are more than enough. Yes, you get tired and discouraged, but in the midst of an unreliable world, your child knows that you are a sure thing. Our kids learn resilience because we are the ones who model it for them. In a world where genuine love feels genuinely lost, we keep the love showing and flowing. Love that teaches our kids that their differences aren't defects. A love that shows the world that your child isn't a problem to solve, but a beautiful person to know. Please subscribe or give us a like. Until next time, thank you from all of us at Hedgecock Media Group.
