Hi friend, welcome to the show. I have a lot of clients that own brick and mortar stores as well as selling online. And one of the first things I hear all the time from my brick and mortar clients is that, you know, they can do 30 K in their store, 50 K in a month. But when it comes to selling, It's like pulling teeth to get a couple thousand dollars in sales every month. And they're like, what is going on when it, when I'm selling, you know, in my store, it's so easy and like, it just feels like so normal. And then I, I, I press publish, I show up online and I'm just like, what the heck is going on here? I have no idea how to sell all of a sudden. It makes you kind of question your skills, even though you're doing thousands, hundreds of thousands of dollars every year in your store and your brick and mortar. So I always kind of have a. you know, truth meeting where we talk about why it's so hard to transition into selling online and why it feels so strange and why a lot of times they just don't get it. So I'm going to kind of go through some of the things that that I usually tell my clients, so you know, you'll just get them here on the podcast. That way, if you are a brick and mortar store and you're doing 20, 30 K months and you want some help growing your business online, this is a great place to start. So the first thing you need to know is that when you're selling online, your main target Job at first is to get used to interrupting the pattern of your ideal customers scroll So what I mean by that is your ideal customer is online scrolling Looking at random frickin funny dog videos Or people slipping and sliding on the ice or funny jokes or whatever's going on, whatever, you know, viral content creator stuff they do to get us to stay on our feeds longer. That's what your ideal customer is looking at. So to interrupt that pattern, you have to be so Frickin savvy and speak to them in a way that's going to get them to stop the scroll. Right? They're not scrolling along looking for, you know, whatever you're selling. They're scrolling along wanting to be entertained or laugh or cry or move. They want to feel something. That's why they're on social media to be entertained. So your first job as a brick and mortar store who's trying to make an impact online is to kind of forget about selling your products and focus on selling yourself. Stopping the scroll of your ideal customer. This may sound a little strange, but they got to know you exist at first. That's the first step. You got to be seen by them. You got to be visible. You got to get on their radar and it's not going to be from posting. You know, here's my new arrival. It's pink. It's stretchy. Go to my website and buy it, which is what the majority of content looks like from my brick and mortar clients when they first start working with me. It's a lot of, I'm at the store. Let me show this. I'm at the store. Let me show this. that's not going to trigger the algorithm to push your stuff into the actual person who we're trying to reach his feed, which is step one, right? We got to get them to find you. So you need to make sure in the content you're creating, whatever that may be, that it's specifically geared towards your ideal customer. What could this look like for you? What I want you to do first is just think about what your ideal customer's lifestyle is like. Okay, so let's say you sell a lot of work wear, like corporate work wear, like kind of fancier stuff. Okay, maybe you have trousers, you've got some suits. You've got like some pencil skirts, blouses, you know, the vibe, right? You need to make sure that in the content you're creating to stop your ideal customer scroll, you are relating to the lifestyle that your ideal customer lives. So let's say you, you know, you cater to the corporate girly who's showing up every day on Wall Street. She's got to look boss. She's got to look put together. She's, you know, can't be frumpalicious She's got to show up and, and be the part, look the part. She has to gain respect from the moment she walks in the room. And for her, it's through her clothing, and it's through her work wear. Now this may not be your ideal customer, right? But this is somebody's ideal customer out there. So the type of content you have to create to get into that person's feed has to be relatable to them. Even when it has nothing to do with products. So maybe that's like I don't know a funny corporate girly life meme or something inspirational about being a boss, babe Something that's gonna stop their scroll and entertain them make them save it make them like it make them go Oh, yeah, this is this is so funny or oh, yeah, I get that or ooh, that's me That's how I feel first impressions matter. Yes That's me. Okay. I'm going to like this post. Oh, let me see what this, who, who posted this. Let me check on their profile. Oh wow. They carry corporate work where that's, that's freaking exactly what I need in my life every single day. It's so funny how I just quote unquote randomly stumbled upon this. This is how the best connections are made when people think that they're randomly stumbling across you, or the algorithm is algorithming, and it delivered them the perfect boutique store products, whatever it is, that they see. So desire to use in their life every single day. It's because it's what they need, what they want, and somehow you magically appear. But ah, you as the business owner knows that this was not a random act. This was very deliberate. As you, as the business owner understand that if you wanna sell your stuff online, like you sell it in. You got to get into your people's feeds. This is what I call the be seen content. And I teach this inside the trendsetter membership as well in our trendsetter content strategy. If you want access to that, you can just join the membership and you'll get immediate access to the training, which is going to freaking blow your mind. You're going to go, Oh my God, this is how we sell thousands of dollars online. Okay, I get it now. My clients are always like, I cannot believe this works. I'm like, I know it works. It's so simple, but it works. It's like literally anybody can learn how to do this. But if you don't know who your ideal customer is, well, you're going to have a little bit of a tough time. You're going to get stuck because you're not going to know how to create this type of content. But don't you worry. I have a whole training on that as well called niches to riches, which teaches you exactly how to figure out who your ideal customer is. That's inside the trends that are membership to cut. The membership is so good. I'm like, it's all you need to build a seven figure business. Just go in there and learn these trainings. But yes. This is your first move as a brick and mortar store to being able to show up online and to start feeling visible. Because again, what, what happens is most people just show up and they're posting product after product, after product, after product. They don't understand messaging because you haven't had to do that really in a brick and mortar, right? Messaging, create specific content. It's like, Nope, in a brick and mortar, here's what happens. People walk in your store. They got their purse on their shoulder. They got their wallet in their pocket. They understand you're a shop. They're in the atmosphere, right? They're entering a shop. They understand that there are things there to buy. They're in that mode. I'm going to look around. Do you need help today? Well, I'm going to look around, see if there's anything that strikes my fancy, right? And then you take it from there. You can help guide them. You can, you You know, do your magical brick and mortar owner stuff to make sure you get a sale, but they're in literally a store ready to buy now on social media. That's not the case, right? They're not walking, you know, opening up their Instagram with their purse on their shoulder browsing for the most part. They just want to like have mindless entertainment and it's our job to compete, to get into their feeds, to show them, Hey, actually you don't want mindless entertainment. You want to come hang out with me at my cool online store and buy something from me. This is a whole skill you have to learn. And this is why I think it can be really frustrating for brick and mortar stores to figure out how to sell online. Cause they, they're like, I'm, I'm a great salesperson. It's like, I'm sure you are, but selling online is totally different. It's a totally different skillset. You have to learn. I'm thinking about like some DMS that I've gotten recently as well of like, you know, Hey, my store does a hundred K months. Like we're killing it, but we cannot figure out this online thing. And I'm like, let me tell you, let me help you. They go from getting a couple thousand dollars in sales every month to 10, 000 20, 000. And it just goes up from there. Cause once you've learned this strategy, literally the world is your oyster. Then it's just tweaking, refining, working on your personal development, working on you as a business owner and all that kind of stuff. You know, all that fun stuff that goes into scaling, but you got to learn the basics first and it's going to be so exciting when you do. And you're just going to go like, if you go, if you go to, I'm a trendsetter. com and you read the, um, testimonials there from members inside the membership that are like, it's working. Oh my gosh. Holy crap. No sales yesterday. When I didn't know this. And now like a week later, I'm getting multiple sales a day. It's because it's understanding how selling online works. This is what I teach you how to get this figured out amongst a lot of other things. But this is a big piece of the puzzle, right? People want to be able to create a lot of sales and momentum online. And it adds value. a whole nother sales channel to your brick and mortar, which is so cool. You can be doing double the amount in sales. Let's say you do 30 K per month in your brick and mortar. How about just getting good at selling online and now you're doing 60 K per month. Yeah, baby. That's what I'm talking about. So let's scale you. So you can do this. You can totally learn this. It's just, you know, the faster you decide that you're actually going to learn this instead of just showing up on a whim and trying to figure it out on your own, the easier it's going to be on you, the business owner. So you might as well just be like, okay, you know what? I'm going to learn this. I'm going to learn it that her clients get great results. This is, this works. Like I'm like looking at the client results right here on the website. Seeing all the screenshots of what people say about it. I'm gonna freaking go for it. It's 97, like you could make that in one sale. And actually learn what's gonna drive hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales for you. So good trade off? Yeah, I would say so. Okay. I love you, um, to my brick and mortar girlies. You got this. You just got to learn what it's the skills, okay, for selling online, but you can do this. Toodles!
