Hi there. Welcome to the show. I'm Allie Dee. Okay. Today I want to talk about my number one tip when it comes to selling online and scaling your business and making a massive impact. This is probably my number one tip. And I'm really excited to share with you because it's something that quite frankly, I feel like a lot of business owners don't get. And in our world here in our universe, the trends that are land. When we understand this one thing, it's amazing how this can actually transform your business literally overnight, or very, very quickly, I should say. I'm not even kidding you. When you shift this, you're going to go, Holy cow. Okay, I get it now. This is what it's all about. And what I'm talking about specifically is growing and scaling your business online. And that's what I'm going to reference here in my tip. So what I'm talking about is your content. We have to start making your content about your customer instead of it being about you. Okay. I'm going to say it again. You need to make your content about your customer instead of making it all about you. So many times when people show up and they start selling their products online and they're really excited, the first thing they go to, and this is like literally everybody in the world. So if you're doing this, like this is so normal, they make it all about their business and their products. But here is the cold, hard truth, my friend, which you will learn very quickly is that quite frankly, people do not give two F's about that, or at least that's how it's going to feel. Because what's going to happen is you're going to show up and you're going to post all this great content about you and your products and you're going to feel invisible. It's because people online don't give two Fs about that. They just don't. What they want to know and what they want to feel when they look at your content is what's in it for me. This is known as the WIFM effect. I remember learning this a long time ago, like in high school, the what's in it for me, W I F M, the WIFM effect, okay? This is how consumers show up online on social media. It's how they consume content every single day. What's in it for me. If they like it, they watch it. If not, they swipe. What's in it for me? Swipe. What's in it for me? It's how people decide if they're going to pay attention to your content or not. It's like this quick question that goes into their brain. Does this piece of content have anything in it for me? If not, bye. I don't care. Swipe a rooski. So when you're showing up online and you're creating content consistently, you might even be doing some sales. Maybe you're hovering around two to 5k in sales and online sales, but you're wanting to scale and do a crap ton of sales. You want to get to 20k, 30k, 50k plus per month. You have to immediately stop posting content that is so focused on you and your products and your business and only post content that is for your customers. That's it. This is the whole shift you have to make. And this can be a little tricky to learn. It's really hard to unlearn what you're probably used to doing, what you see 99 percent of people doing, which is showing up and talking about your products, talking about your business, talking about your day, this, this, and that. This is what the majority of people are doing. But you don't want to be like the majority of people. You want to be like the 1 percent that's killing it. And these little tidbits of information that I share here on this podcast are to help you get there, to help you stand out. This is literally why most stores are not killing it online, because they don't understand this concept. And once you do, watch out, because everything is going to change for you. So instead of every piece of content, Being about your products, it must be crafted for your customer. Otherwise, we're wasting time, my friend. We're wasting time creating content that's not going to do anything for you. It's not going to go anywhere. It's not going to convert. It's not going to get you more customers. It's going to end up in the IG or TikTok if it's still around graveyard. So what it needs to do instead and what I What I want to create and teach you around here is how to create content that's going to work for you 24 7 in the background, no matter what you're doing. Whether you're like, I don't know, off on a yacht somewhere, yachting around, listening to some rap music while you're laying out and catching some rays, or whether you're out having dinner with your husband or you're playing with your kids on the swing, I don't know, whatever you're doing. You're not going to be on the phone 24 7 when you show up and create content for your customer because otherwise if you don't, you're going to be trying, thinking that, Oh, if I just post more, I'm posting three times a day, five times a day. You're going to get into this like hustle and grind and this loop of never ending content that doesn't get you anywhere. And it is such a frustrating place to live in. You don't want to live there. It's, it's yuck. So what I do instead is I teach you to create content. That works for you even when you're living your life so you can live a life. That way you don't end up with burnout and overwhelm and you actually get results. So bang, bam, boom. We're speaking to our customer every single time. Okay. So what this looks like instead is instead of you being super focused on your products, you need to talk to them like they're real people. Doesn't that sound simple? It is simple, but it's not easy. This is it though. This is the strategy. There's real people on the other side of the screen. They're scrolling every day. It's called social media for a reason. People are there to feel connection. Your ideal customers are out there in droves. Okay? Hundreds and thousands of them. They're already on these platforms. They are looking for you. They want what you have. They will be obsessed with your freaking amazing products, but listen, they will not find you and they will not get to you if you're making posts that are product centered instead of customer centered. You have to put them at the forefront of the story. You have to make them the main character. They have to feel seen in an instant. So this all goes back to knowing, again, your ideal customer, right? How do you connect with them? How do you create content that's putting them first? This is the whole trick, the whole secret, the whole situation here. And it's exactly what I teach you in my programs. And I love, love, love working on this inside Glow Up, especially because I get to work directly with you every single week on this. This is one of my most fun things to work on. By the way, this does get to be fun. Social media turns from being a chore to being something like you're so pumped to do every single day because you know it's how you generate sales. It's how you create customers and it's how you scale. I have some amazing women inside Glow Up right now that we're working through this and it's like every week we unpack a new layer. And I'm like, yes, even with my private clients, this is how your customers are going to be drawn to you like a magnet. And when they make this simple shift and my clients show up every day with their customer in mind, customer focused content instead of product focused content, this is the major transformation point that for them. Because like what I said, it's about connecting with people. So it goes from being like frustrating and annoying and like something they quote unquote have to do to being fun and exciting and invigorating and enjoyable because it's about real life connections and people. Social media can, can feel very, um, impersonal for businesses when you treat it that way. And that's how it feels like a chore. It's not just like, cha ching, here's a transaction, cha ching, here's a transaction. It's like, no, let me create content because I'm so excited to have more customers find me and to build my loyal customer base that will be with me through and through that loves all my stuff. We can't forget there's literally real people on the other side of the screens. Real people browsing your website. It's not just, you know, visitor number 117 for the day. It's like, no, this is a fricking real person. Oh my gosh, I have the perfect products for my people. I can't wait for them to find me. I can't wait to make content for them because they're going to be so excited. You're bringing them joy. And when we make it all about ourselves and our businesses and our products, we can't make that connection with them. It's like having a conversation with someone, you know, if you ever had like met someone in public and you're like getting to know them or like you're at a networking event or something or a market or whatever. And the first thing they do is like start talking about themselves. And you're like, okay, well, I really didn't ask you about yourself, but okay, here we go. And like literally 10 minutes later, you're still, they're still unloading everything about themselves and their business and their products. And you're like, can we just like have a laugh here for a second or like have a little get to know you time here? That it's the same thing with content, right? You're just like shoving down their throats everything about your business and you and they're like, okay, but I don't even know you yet So bye, I'm swiping bye. It's like dating too, right? If you go on a bad date and you're sitting across from a dude that's just like going on and on about himself It's like yawn, swipe. Who's the next one? Like next man up, right? It's the same thing with our content guys and It's again, just taking it away from being that, that chore, right? Because they're going to be so excited now when they see your new arrivals because you're going to position them in a way where it's about them. You know, like for example, let's say it's a pair of jeans, you know, and your customers are moms. It's not like, okay, here's our new pair of jeans, a new arrival that just came in. No, it's like they need to feel comfortable every day. They've got a kid on their hip, they're, they're up, they're down, they're bending, they're picking up toys, they're, um, you know, they can't have jeans on that are like suffocating their stomachs because, you know, we've had C sections, we have things going on. Our bodies change. We need jeans that are flexible with our bodies and our lives. That's how you make a post about a pair of jeans Specific to your customer and about them instead of being about the pair of jeans Okay, so that I'm a mom. So these are all the things I think about when I buy jeans Speak to that Speak to their lifestyle. If it was just like, Oh, I got this new arrival, it's a pair of jeans, they're stretchy, they have some rips on the knees, they have like a, a button fly, they've got pockets on the front and the back, they hit at your ankle, they're super trendy and cute and affordable. Blah, who cares? Everybody has a pair of jeans like that. Don't talk to me about the jeans. Talk to me about my life and why these jeans are good for me. What's in it for me? Why do I care about the jeans that you sell? Put the customer at the forefront. Talk to what kind of person they are and why your products are the products for them. This is building a connection because you know what they go through. You know what they need. You get what their daily life is like. You know what they struggle with in their closet. You know, it's hard for them to get dressed. You know, they don't have a lot of time on their calendar for themselves. They're always taking care of their kids first or whatever's going on in their lives. You're trying to get things done for other people. They always fall to the back burner. Why not put yourself at the front, forefront for once instead of being on the back burner? Let's take care of you with this pair of jeans. Okay. Dot, dot, dot. Fill in the blank. However that looks for your customer. Okay. Maybe they need a pair of jeans to go like, you know, from changing into their corporate life in the office to going out to drinks with their co workers, but they don't want to get like fancy dressed up because they're casual, but they still need to look put together. They don't want a lot of tears in their jeans because, you know, the boss is going to give them a look and do that joke that all old men do. It's like, oh, how many, how much did those jeans cost? They have a lot of holes in them or whatever that joke is, you know, relate to them. You get it? I'm also going to say this, because I'm just adding this in, it just popped into my mind and I made a social media post about this, but y'all stop using AI to write your captions. Okay. I'm looking at you. This has become really rampant in our industry. At first I was like, I don't get it. Why is everybody using AI to write their captions is like, is, is something out there teaching people to do this? But I'm going to tell you, AI is great. And I get it. It has a lot of amazing things that it can do for our businesses. But you need to know how to connect with customers first. So don't depend on AI to try to do this for you. Anyone, we can smell an AI caption a mile away. I tell my clients, I'm like, girl, you use AI for that caption. Don't even try to, and I always catch them, okay? Don't do it. You have to learn this skill. Communication with your customers will be how you become a 1% er and blow up and create a wealthy AF frickin company where you're just swimming in the sales. It's not from using AI to mimic or try to fake connection for you. It's a robot. It sucks at human connection. Period. I don't care what you teach it. I don't care what prompt you use. You have to learn this skill. This is a skill that is so scalable. So let's not do it that, okay? It happens. If you're doing it, don't feel bad. I'm calling you out now. I see it all the time, okay? But I'm telling you, you can do better. You can do better, cause you're a freaking human, so talk to your people like humans. Don't talk like a robot. Don't have a robot do this for you. You don't need to. You're super smart. You just gotta tap into this skill, okay? And that's what I, this is what I love teaching you are these super power skills. You know? Ah! I'm so excited. We're having this chat today. So listen, um, this is, this is my special number one, if not most important tip, okay? Social media is about being social. It's about connection. So let's. Focus on that. You got this, you can do this and welcome to becoming a freaking magnet for your customers. Bye.
