Hello, welcome to the show. All right. I'm going to ask you a question here as we get today's show started. What is the main problem that you help your customers with? Do you know the answer to this question off the top of your head? A really quick answer, like one sentence. What problem do you help your customers with? You'd be surprised how many people are in business or have in business have this problem. been in business for six months, a year, even more that don't know how to answer this question, or it could be all over the place. This is, this question specifically is geared to help you understand more about, and I know we've been talking about this, how to tap into your target market and your niche. What is the main problem you solve for your customers? I'm going to give you a second to think about it, but what I want to say is if you are listening to this. podcast. You need to give yourself a frickin high five because there is so much juicy information in here that is going to actually help you grow and scale a real business. Like I was just thinking about that today. I was like the podcast girlies, the ones that are tuning in every single day, they are in for it because you're getting all this amazing information. And it's just, it's just great. I'm just saying, I wish I had it back in the day. Okay. So back to our question at hand, if you've thought about it for a second, do you know the answer or are you kind of going, Ooh, I don't really know the answer. Answering this question will be one of the best things you ever do, because it's going to give you so much clarity when it comes to how you're showing up online, what kind of content you're creating, what kind of messaging you're using, what kind of website messaging you have going on, what your email looks like, how you show up on lives. So, I mean, How you show up on your Instagram stories, Facebook, TikTok, wherever you are, the answer to this question is going to really drive every single thing that you do. So there's a few prompts I'll give you. I'll probably give you one, but this, this prompt could be used in multiple ways to answer this question. If you're like, I have no idea, like I need some help with this. Welcome. So does 99 percent of business owners out there. It's why I started this whole community because I found that no one really could answer this question. It's usually the answer of, Oh, well we sell trendy, affordable, cute clothing. We've got a little bit of something for everybody. And I'm like, Ooh, ah, eek. Okay. We got to get more specific than that here, sisters. So instead you could do something like, I love giving my clients this prompts. Um, I think it's even inside niches to riches, which is my program on, um, how you can map out your ideal customer, which is also inside trendsetter, the trendsetter membership. But I think, um, the question is, I think it's in there, but the question goes something like this or the, the prompt, We are a blank that helps. Blank with blank. Okay. Or we specialize in helping blank with blank. That's a super easy way to think about this question, right? Because you can't get wordy. It's like, this is, this is all you get in this one sentence to tell me what your major problem is. Okay. We specialize in helping blank with blank. Do blank with blank. Okay. So we help corporate girlies walk into a meeting and own the room with boss babe wardrobe. Okay. It's very clear who you help and what their major problem is. They want to walk into a room and own it, right? We help corporate women walk into the room and own it with our boss babe wardrobe options, whatever it is. We can do a lot better. Okay. We're just kicking things off here, but this is what I want you to really think about. We help stay at home moms look put together in 10 minutes or less. Ooh, that's a fricking good one. What? I can look put together in 10 minutes or less and that's your whole thing. And that's the main problem that you solve. And everything you do goes back to helping your customer with that main problem. Oh my gosh. You could see how that's so much more specific on why someone would even care about following you and your business and your brand, as opposed to saying we have cute, affordable, trendy clothing. It's like, okay, well, so does everybody else out here. So do the hundreds of thousands of boutiques out here. and stores. But if you get down to the nitty gritty and you answer a question like this, which is what do we do? What does our business do? Who do we help? We help corporate girlies survive a full day of work in comfortable, wearable wardrobe. Totally different than our first example, right? It's a totally different niche. This is why even like someone says we sell corporate workwear. I'm like, okay, great. Well, who's. What's the problem? The person has that's buying your type of clothing. Do they want to feel comfortable? Do they want to look hot? Do they want to turn heads? Do they want to feel like they own the room? Do they want to, you know, be comfortable because they're sitting all day? Are they, what, like, what is the problem that your people have, right? You're, you're going to carry different types of, uh, inventory. Depending upon the problem that you're solving. So you got to get down to the nitty gritty of this, right? Because that person is totally different than our first corporate girlie. But you're both selling corporate workwear. You're both talking to corporate girlies. But you both got wildly different problems that you solve. And this could be for so many other sub markets and niches. out there, right? There's a lot of, um, you know, busy moms out there. We talked about this a little bit. There's a zillion different types of busy moms. There's busy moms who work 9 to 5. There's busy moms who work from home. There's busy moms who are stay at home. There's busy moms who are raising two kids under five. There's busy moms who are hustling and bustling. Their kids are in high school in 800 different sports, and they have 5000 different places they have to be between three and six p. m. So don't tell me that you help busy moms. What is the problem that you solve for your busy mom? That's where the magic lies. That's where the magic happens. That's where the riches are, baby. And we don't want to just build little dinky businesses over here. We don't want to blend in with 99 percent of other people online. We want our products to stand out. I don't care if you sell clothes. I don't care if you sell accessories. I don't care if you sell hairbrushes. Um, whatever it is that you do, you sell products. You've got to answer this question. You've got to be able to answer this question. I think we should do like a fun little like podcast workshopping thing here, where after you finish listening to this episode, I want you to take five minutes. I don't care what you're doing, whether you're sitting in your corporate office right now dreaming about the day where you can give them the middle finger and slam the door on your way out. No, I'm just. Just kidding. You know what I'm saying though. Maybe you're, you're buzzing around your bathroom in the morning. You're getting ready, you know, whatever you're doing in the next five minutes, I want you to just clear some headspace to think about the answer to this question and maybe open up a note on your phone and write down a few different things because it might take you A few days, it might take you a couple of weeks to answer this. And as you, uh, grow and scale this question, you'll ask it over and over again as your businesses grow, because the problems that you help and solve with may change and they may shift and you may create an entire category where you're just like, Oh, I wasn't expecting this to happen, but here we are. So this is the problem that we solve. We started here and now we're here. Which is fine, but we gotta start somewhere. We can't start at the bottom of the barrel. We can't start where everybody else is and hope we're gonna, you know Catch a break. We got to make things happen for us. So over the next five minutes, think about the answer to this question. Who do you help? What problem do you solve for them? We help. Blank with blank. It can literally be that simple, right? That simple of a brainstorm. And I want you to make some notes on your phone or if you have a notebook or a journal, whatever the case may be, but I don't want you to get, you know, to like, just think about it right now. Like, I don't want you to get too sidetracked and forget this podcast and be like, what was that thing I was supposed to say? to do like make a note right now. We help blank with blank, write that down somewhere and think about it for the next five minutes and then revisit it tonight. Maybe you're listening to this at night. Revisit this question in the morning on a fresh brain, fresh brain. What is a, that was weird. You get what I'm saying though. Fresh thoughts, fresh brain where you're like, Ooh, I feel good today. It's the morning. Let me think about that question. I was thinking about last night that I couldn't think of one single iota of what I do or what problem I solve. And now all of a sudden I got it. Bing, bang, boom. the morning, right? This question, my friend, is going to change your lives. All right. I love you. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
